Elemental Compass (Supernatural Prison Book 7)

She wiped at her tears, a chuckle escaping. “Last maybe, but we all know you Compasses couldn’t keep your dicks in your pants. Not before your mates came along.”
My chest was rumbling, my dragon nudging me forward. I’d never shared this particular set of memories with her because I didn’t want to make her feel bad about the way it all went down. Seemed that maybe it was finally time.
“I have one more for you,” I said, wiping away her tears. It was my job to love her until she never for a second feared being alone.
“Please,” she sobbed. “I can’t believe how incredible you are.”
I snorted. “Babe, I’m an asshole of a dragon. You’re the light in my soul. You know that.”
She shook her head. “I want to punch you for the comment, but since I’m feeling very loving toward you at the moment, I’ll save it for later.”
I laughed, lifting her higher so I could kiss her perfect lips. “Don’t ever fucking change.”
Jessa grabbed my face in her hands, holding me still. “Last memory. Give it to me.”
A rumble shook my chest. “Giving it to you will come after.”
Her eyes darkened too, but she was stubborn, and would push her need aside for this memory. With a sigh, I released my hold on that part of my past, showing her the one secret I’d kept from her.
“Braxton,” she snarled. “These are not memories I want to see!”
Shut up and watch.
Her eyes narrowed, but for once she did as she was told. The memory returned, the first date I’d ever gone on, with some random shifter. One by one, she witnessed all the dates I’d ever had that weren’t with my mate. At first Jessa flinched away from the images, until she realized what I was showing her.
All of the dates ended the exact same way: me kissing the female on the cheek and bidding her goodnight.
I'd never really touched a woman until the moment my mate was ready for me. I’d known as a child and I’d waited for her. She hadn’t done the same, and while the possessive part of me hated that, it was the right path for Jessa to come to me as the shifter she was.
"I don't … understand." She was crying hard, tears streaking her face. "You had sex before me, right?"
"No."
Touching another woman when I loved her would have been the ultimate betrayal.
Jessa shook her head, like she refused to believe me. “I don’t understand.”
My voice gentled, as it only did for my mate. “I knew you were mine for as long as I could remember. I made the decision not to push you, and if I hadn’t dated at all, you would have questioned it. This was my compromise.”
She sobbed harder.
"It was always you, Jess. Always."
She kissed me, wrapping her legs around me, as her tongue tangled with mine. "I love you. I love you. I love you."
She said it over and over between kisses.
My chest rumbled as the possessive bastard I was came out to play. It was never enough with Jessa. I craved everything, wanting her naked against me, so I could love every inch of her.
Tonight she was not getting any sleep.
Promises, mate. Make sure you live up to them.
I always do.
And I always would.
More from the Supernatural World
Don’t forget to check out Maddison and the Atlanteans in Supernatural Academy.
More action, adventure, and romance. Not to mention a few cameo appearances from your favourite Supernatural Prison characters.
The complete trilogy is now live and available on Amazon.
Maddison James is about to discover some truths about the world.
Firstly...supernaturals exist.
WTF?
Secondly...she is one, even though no one seems to know exactly what kind.
Double WTF.
Thirdly...she’s about to go back to school.
Well, things just got a little more interesting.
The Supernatural Academy is where shifters, vampires, magic users, and fey are educated. Where they are taught about their abilities, and how to function in the human world. Maddison already has the human part down, but this supernatural thing is an entirely new dangerous game.
Example one: mean girls who can actually turn you into a frog.
Example two: Asher Locke, a god at the Academy. Not literally...well, who knows for sure. He certainly acts the part, as do all of his minions who worship him.
Asher drives her crazy, because apparently snarly, gorgeous, and arrogant is her thing, and despite their mutual dislike, sparks fly between them. The more they’re thrown together, the more Asher is determined to figure out what’s been blocking her abilities.
Until the moment the truth is revealed, and they find out nothing in this supernatural world is what they thought.
Including each other.
Afterword
I needed a moment before I started this final afterword in the Supernatural Prison series. The emotions, gah, the emotions.
This was the second series I ever wrote. I feel that a lot of people found me through Jessa and her no-filter, curses are sentence glitter, attitude.
I love her. I owe her a lot. I already miss and mourn this world being over as I sit here alone in my office putting the finishing touches on a series that I’ve been writing for over six years.
SIX FUCKING YEARS.
What do I do with myself now? I’m already wondering what is happening in their lives and if someone else is coming along to screw with them.
Are you all mourning the ending with me? We might need a help group or something…
Or, maybe, we need another series in this world.
I have an idea. I don’t know if this idea will ever come to fruition, but I’ve been taking notes and when the pain of missing these characters grows too great, I might just step back into the supernatural world.
Until then…
Thank you. Every single one of you that has supported me on my author journey. My Nerd Herd. Review Team. Street Team. You all fucking rock!
I wish I could visit and thank you individually, but just know you are all in my heart and I will do my best to never let you down. Wolf pack, baby. We are always pack.
As always, thanks to the smaller version of my wolf pack: Trav, Lola, and Silvie. I’m nothing without you.
Thank you to Heather, my friend and PA, who keeps me on track, and has always supported my stories with love and enthusiasm. I heart you!
Thank you to Tamara and Lee for being with me for covers and editing and support.
And with that, I’m going to shed a few tears, drink some fey wine, and hold these books in my heart for a little longer.
Love xxx
