His erection was pushing into her abdomen, throbbing for release. He could feel the moisture on her thighs as a flood of excitement gushed forward in response to his rough handling. His hand found its way down to her center and onto her clit, massaging the aching nub back and forth as he continued to tease her nipples, now rock hard with need. He brought his mouth back up to hers and kissed her passionately, continuing his skillful manipulation of her pink folds. He couldn’t wait to be inside of her, to claim her for his own. They had just met, and yet she felt like forever to him.

He pulled away from her slightly, looking down into her eyes, watching the waves of pleasure cross her face. He began to increase his strokes against her clit, bringing her quickly to an orgasm that rocked her entire body. Her moans were loud enough to be heard throughout the entire house, and probably beyond. His mouth moved toward her ear, nibbling at it lightly as she thrust her hips upward into him, sending more electricity racing down his spine.

“I want to be inside of you,” he whispered quietly in her ear. It was enough to put his body right back into overdrive as she panted a simple response into the open air.

“Please.” That was all she could manage, as he cupped her ass in his hands and pulled her up into him harder. He never took his eyes off hers, as he nudged her legs apart with his own. Then he was inside of her, filling her with every inch of his powerful erection. Her walls hugged his throbbing cock as he began to rock slowly back and forth, creating the most intense friction between them. She leaned back on her elbows, enjoying the sight of him sinking deep inside her again and again.

Their synchronized moans escalated in relation to the force and speed of his strokes. They were soon lost in the frenzied, primal coupling taking place between them. His thrusts became harder and faster, as she begged him for more. It quickly escalated as his jackhammer pounding sent her into a fit of incoherent screams of encouragement. He reached beneath her and pulled her hips up toward him. She collapsed onto the bed beneath her and gave into the punishment being inflicted upon her bruised and battered little cave.

“You feel so good,” she cooed in a half whisper, half gasp.

“Not half as good as you do,” he said between his powerful thrusts.

His thumb found its way to her clit and began rubbing furiously, sending her into a spasm. He suddenly let out a long, guttural howl as his body gave into his release. He buried himself inside of her and exploded into the depths of her being. He lingered there for a moment, reaching out and caressing the sides of her legs before gliding his fingers slowly up her sides and across her stomach. Eventually, he moved them downward and rested them firmly on her clean-shaven, pubic mound as he gazed down at her naked body sprawled across the sheets below them.

“That was incredible. You have an amazing body. I’m so glad you are all mine, even if it is only for tonight,” he said breathlessly. She looked up at him and smiled.

Pulling free, he lay on the bed beside her, sighing with contentment as she leaned over to lay her face across his stomach. He could feel his diaphragm vibrate as he struggled to catch his breath, as did she, no doubt. Neither had any thought as to what might happen with beyond this night, after this moment had ended. His mind was closed to any thoughts beyond the beautiful woman by his side and hers were lingering on just how incredible that had been. Whatever tomorrow would bring was irrelevant. Tonight, had been completely amazing.

  Chapter 5

The morning sun filtered through the blinds, casting shadows across the bed. Aspen lay on one side, his arm draped across her protectively. She smiled at him, watching him as he slept.

“Are you watching me sleep?” he asked, his eyes still closed.

  “How did you know?”

  “I can feel you.”

  “That’s ridiculous. You peeped.”

“Did not,” he replied, opening his eyes to look at her.

“How about you get me back into town before my boss sends a posse out looking for me and I’ll buy you some breakfast?”

“I have a better idea. Why don’t you give him a call or send him a message and I’ll take you someplace wonderful to eat? Let’s get moving.”

Aspen kissed her, curling her toes fiercely and sending chills down her spine. She wanted more of him. Though she was still sore from the multiple rounds from last night. There was no time for it. Picking up her phone as she climbed from the bed, she attempted to call Roy, but only got a few beeps. She glanced at the phone to see that she had no signal.

“Do you have a house phone?” she asked him as he stood stretching by the bed.

“You can’t be serious? Who has a house phone these days?”

  “Cell phone?”

“Yes, but probably with as much signal as you have on yours. I forget how crappy it can be out here when it’s overcast outside.”

“Overcast? The sun is shin—” She turned to see that the sun was no longer shining through the window. “Is it going to rain?”

  “Yes.”

  “Are you sure?”

Amanda considered how ill-advised it had been coming here with no means of communication. Now, it also looked like she was probably going to look like a drowned rat by the time they made it back into town.

  “Yes, I’m sure.”

An hour later, they were freshly showered and pulling into a large lodge of some sort. There were rows of bikes lined up outside the building, so she assumed it was some sort of biker’s hangout. Several raised a hand in their direction as they stepped off the bike and walked inside, but none said anything until they were inside, where a heavyset, bearded guy made a beeline for them, talking excitedly.

“I spotted a Dire Wolf, man. He was right in the middle of our turf,” the man said.

“Settle down, Southpaw. Have you met, Amanda? She works down at Roy’s place.”

Southpaw looked taken aback for a moment and then his whole demeanor changed to a casual politeness, rather than whatever he had been so wound up about.

“Good to meet ya, Amanda,” Southpaw replied, hastily excusing himself.

“What was that about?” she asked, watching him retreat.

“Nothing, just club business. Come on, let’s get some breakfast.”

  “In here?” Amanda asked.

She looked around doubtfully. The place was a bit of a dive with unfinished wood support beams and rough wooden floors. It looked like a hastily built barn more than whatever it was supposed to be.

“Not much to look at, I know,” he told her as they headed through a pair of double doors.

It was like walking into another dimension. Whereas the exterior had been austere, the kitchen was immaculately finished with marble and tile. It was filled with industrial grade stainless steel appliances that any professional chef would be envious of. Amanda looked around in astonishment as he walked to a nearby walk-in cooler and opened it up, returning a moment later with a fresh slab of ham.

“How do you want your eggs prepared?” he asked.

  “Sunnyside up,” she replied.

  “My kind of girl.”

Aspen flipped the heat on a built-in grill in the center of a massive island and laid the ham on a nearby butcher’s block, shaving off thin slices of ham while it heated. Amanda watched for a moment before speaking.

  “I didn’t think you cooked.”

“I never said that. I said I had no food at the cabin because I usually eat on the run.”

“What is this place and what is the deal with this state of the art kitchen when the main entrance is not even finished?”

“You are just full of questions, aren’t you?”

“Yes. I guess I am,” she admitted.

“This is our clubhouse. The outer portion is unfinished because someone burned it to the ground not so long ago. The kitchen was intact and just needed some wiring and tiles replaced, but the front hall and hallway leading down to the rooms was gutted. We’re still in the process of rebuilding. Insurance wouldn’t cover it, so we
ve had to do it out of the club kitty.”

“Did they catch whoever did it?”

  “No.”

  “They don’t have any leads.”

  “Not that I know of.”

Amanda got the sense that he had no desire to discuss it. Whatever had happened was a sore subject. It was apparent that he either knew who did it or had a good idea. She let it go, settling into silence as she cracked open a couple of eggs and dropped some ham on the grill, slipping thick slices of farm seed bread into a nearby toaster.

“Orange juice or coffee?” he asked.

“Would it be greedy to say both?” she replied.

“Not at all. In fact, you’re a woman after my own heart.”

The food sizzled, filling the air around them with a delicious smell. Amanda hadn’t realized how hungry she was until now.

“Oh, crap. I forgot to call Roy.”

Amanda retrieved her cell phone from her pocket and hit speed dial. She was relieved when she got voicemail so she didn’t have to have a conversation about why she had left her car in the parking lot. Instead, she just left him a quick voice message that she had gotten a lift out and wasn’t kidnapped or anything.

  “Weren’t you?” Aspen mused.

He retrieved the nearby toast and dropped a slice on each of two plates. He lifted the ham and eggs with a spatula and put them on either side before adding a small pat of butter to each plate and handing one across the adjoining counter-top to one side of the grill in front of her.

“This looks delicious,” she told him.

“It will be,” he replied proudly.

Retrieving an already made pot of coffee off a burner on the adjoining counter, he poured each of them a cup and then retrieved two glasses of orange juice from the fridge before sitting down beside her to eat. It really was very good. She had to admit that she was impressed with his cooking skills, even if it was a simple meal. It was all done to perfection.

“Where did you learn to cook?” she asked.

  “Prison,” he replied.

Amanda paused putting the bite of food on her fork into her mouth and looking at him. He continued to chew, looking down at his plate, not in shame, but seemingly oblivious to her reaction. After a moment, she finally spoke again.

  “Prison?”

  “Yep.”

He obviously had no intention of getting into it further, so she didn’t ask any more questions. Of course, she was dying to know, but if he wanted to divulge the reason, he would have. Instead, she ate her breakfast quietly.

“I know you want to know why I was in prison. I don’t blame you. I could tell you that I was innocent, that I was framed, but the truth is that I used to have a temper. I let it get the best of me.”

  “How long?” she asked.

She wanted to ask so much more, but decided not to try to overwhelm him with a bunch of questions he probably had no desire to answer.

“Three years. I copped a plea and minded my own business, so I got out early on good behavior. I learned my lesson about letting my anger manage me, instead of the other way around.”

  “I see.”

“No, you don’t, but that’s okay. I will tell you the whole story one day if you want to know, but not today. It’s nothing for you to be worried about. I’m not a crazed woman beater or anything. Just let a man piss me off when I should have walked away.”

“Fair enough. I guess I can’t complain if you learned to cook so well.”

He laughed and stood up, leaning in to kiss her on the cheek as he walked his already emptied plate to the sink nearby. There was a knock on the door and a scrawny looking redhead stuck her head in and beckoned him over. Amanda tried to not look interested in their conversation as he stepped over and spoke to her in hushed tones.

“Tell them I’ll be there in an hour,” he told her before shutting the door.

Amanda had finished off the last of her breakfast and taken her final drink of coffee as he approached to retrieve her plate. Something was bothering him, if the look on his face was any indication.

  “Problem?” she asked.

“Something like that. Listen, I hate to cut things short, but I’m going to have to get you back to your car and go take care of a club matter.”

  “Sure. No problem,” she replied.

The truth was that she felt disappointed that he had some other priority than spending the morning with her, but she had to remember that they had only just met. She could easily be nothing more to him than a one-night stand and was that really so bad? In all honesty, didn’t that suit her better than possibly getting involved in a relationship again so soon? Especially with a man who had a criminal record.

  Chapter 6

As much as Amanda tried to put Aspen out of her mind, she kept finding her mind drifting back to how he had felt inside of her. She ached for him in a way she had never wanted a man before. She had to wonder if it was just because she knew she shouldn’t, or if it went deeper than that. When he hadn’t bothered to call her, or come by the bar for several days after their tryst, she finally decided that it had just been a one-night stand in his book, and she needed to accept it as such.

Every thought of that possibility went out the window when he came waltzing into the bar the following weekend, a sultry looking redhead on his arm. Amanda wondered if she had been the one he had been waiting for the night he had taken her home instead. He had made out like he was hanging out to see Amanda all along, but it could have easily just been a substitution. At least she didn’t have to wonder now.

“What can I get for you?” she asked coolly as they both took a seat at the bar.

“Ginger ale,” he replied evenly, as if nothing was amiss.

“You got any of them wine spritzers thingies?” the woman asked her.

“Sure,” Amanda replied. “Would you like a glass?”

“No, honey. I don’t need no glass.”

Amanda nodded and moved down the counter toward the cooler to retrieve their drinks, sitting them in front of them wordlessly before moving away again to help another customer.

She tried not to show her irritation that he had brought another woman into her bar. Why he would do such a thing wasn’t even certain. And the woman? It was obvious he wasn’t with her for her scintillating intellect. She looked like someone fresh off the stripper pole in the gentleman’s club down the road. If nothing else, it told Amanda everything she needed to know about him.

What surprised her was that she felt hurt by it. Had she become so used to being in a relationship that she had forgotten what it was like to just to be casual with someone? I mean, could she really blame him for dating someone else? It wasn’t as if he owed her anything just because they had spent one night together. Still, to throw his date with someone else in her face felt a bit tacky.

A few minutes later, the ginger hussy got up and headed to the bathroom. Amanda tried not to notice or watch the way she seemed to bounce toward it, her curves catching the eyes of men all across the bar who were also trying not to look.

“Amanda, can I talk to you for a second?” he asked.

“You need a fresh drink?” she replied.

“No. I just need to talk to you.”

“I’m busy,” she said, turning her back to him and walking into the back half of the bar to retrieve clean glasses.

When she returned, he was gone. He had left money for the drinks and enough for a tip on the bar in front of where they had sat. Amanda’s heart sank a little further. The only thing worse than seeing him with someone else, was not seeing him at all. She scooped up his empty glass and the redhead’s empty bottle and retrieved the cash, making change out of the register and dropping it in her top jar.

Much to her surprise, the redhead came stepping out of the bathroom and walked back toward the bar. She looked around for a moment and then sat back down on her stool and ordered another drink. Amanda brought it over, wondering if she knew her date had left without her.

“Aspen already gone?” the woman asked.

“I believe so. He left cash on the bar for your earlier drink.”

“Cool. Thanks, doll. Hey, listen, don’t mention to anyone you saw me with him.”

  “Um, okay.”

Amanda looked around at all the people who had seen her here with him and wondered who she could possibly tell that hadn’t seen it for themselves. Amanda didn’t know what to make of it. The woman obviously wasn’t upset that he had left, seemed to expect it. Things got even weirder later when another guy entered the bar. He was wearing a biker’s jacket, but not like the one that Aspen wore. Instead, it had a wolf’s skull that had been superimposed over a wolf’s head and the words Dire Wolves above it. There were several patches, one who said “Hanover,” and another that indicated he was “Vice President.”

She had noted previously that Aspen’s jacket also indicated he was a VP, she assumed this guy held a similar rank in a different club. Men and their clubs, she thought. These little brotherhoods they formed, these groups they put themselves in had always eluded her as to what the purpose was. In her mind, it was no better than a more acceptable form of a gang. There was a reason that people still referred to them as motorcycle gangs rather than motorcycle clubs, which was merely more ominous sounding. They were still what they were and always would be - a gang.

“Hey, I need a glass of Bud over here,” the guy called out.

  “Sure thing,” Amanda replied.

She looked him over as she delivered the beer. He was a good bit younger than Aspen, closer to her age. Whereas Aspen was at least in his early forties, this man was late twenties, at best. He was dark haired, dark eyed, menacing. He wasn’t buff like Aspen, but more sinewy - a scrapper, an alley cat was what came to mind. He was all over the redhead and she seemed to be loving it.

Amanda had no clue what was going on and it was probably better that way, she decided. They weren’t there long, finishing their drinks and dropping some cash on the bar before making a hasty exit. It was all baffling and as much as she wanted to just put it out of her mind, she couldn’t. The whole situation seemed incredibly weird, making her wonder just what sort of person she had almost gotten herself tied up within the first place.
