Fionn

When she looked up to question him, he lowered his mouth to hers. This time, his kiss was gentle. Coaxing. There was still a simmering passion inside him. LeeAnn could sense it just below the surface, but he didn’t seem to be directing it at her. He just…kissed her. It was as if he needed to know she’d still let him. God knew she shouldn’t, but LeeAnn was afraid she was as starved for human contact as he was.
After a few moments, Fionn ended the kiss, resting his forehead against hers. Just as his phone chirped. With another “fuck” he dug it out of his pocket and glanced at the screen, scowling.
“I need to go out for a little while,” he said. It sounded more like a confession than a declaration. As if the last thing he wanted to do was leave. “I shouldn’t be gone long. A couple of hours at most.”
“Am I supposed to just stay here?”
“Unfortunately, I can’t let you go just yet. I will do everything I can to make your stay pleasant.” He smiled, leaning down to kiss her once more, as if he couldn’t help himself. “If you want to fix yourself something, the kitchen is fully stocked. Otherwise, I’ll bring back food.” He hesitated before adding, “I’m sorry you’re caught in the middle of this, LeeAnn.”
“I’m sorry, too,” she replied, not looking at him. “I guess I’ll be here when you get back.” Fionn looked like he wanted to say more, but thought better of it and left the bedroom. Once he was gone, the place seemed huge. Kind of like her own home. So…impersonal.
Plopping down on the bed, she groaned. This was so fucked up. She stood up almost immediately to go search for a phone. To no avail. Apparently, Fionn O’Shea didn’t have a landline. All the doors seemed to be magnetically locked or something, opening only to a keypad at each exit. Which she didn’t have the code for. Outside one door was a large, hulking man. He glanced her way, nodded once, then continued his silent vigil. Figured Fionn would have her guarded.
With nothing else to do, LeeAnn rummaged around the fridge. She’d never learned to cook so maybe she could find some sandwich meat. If not, she’d just wait for her jailer to bring her rations. Besides, she wasn’t really all that hungry.
Deciding to have a look around, LeeAnn wandered around the huge house. Figuring if there was someplace he didn’t want her he should have locked it up, she checked out every room she could find. Also known as, “searching for a way out.”
What she found didn’t surprise her. The place, however large, was surprisingly sterile. It was as if Fionn had no preferences. No personality. The only place that seemed out of the norm was the indoor pool. That room was like a shining oasis.
The sun shone from the retractable glass roof. When closed, like now, the sun would warm the room, bathing the pool in golden light. This was a place she could spend some time in. Though her life was dedicated to her work, the one pleasure she indulged in was swimming. To her, swimming laps was as satisfying as a good movie for most people. Probably because she spent so much of her time inside and free of physical activity. She craved the stimulation to her body. Water sluicing over her during a vigorous swim was the ultimate pleasure. Well. It had been…until Fionn had taken command of her body.
Now, she had the idea of stripping off Fionn’s shirt and swimming naked for hours. What would it feel like to have the water streaming over her bare body as she glided through it?
Fuck it.
With one snappish movement, LeeAnn whipped off the T-shirt Fionn had given her, flinging it across the room angrily. This was so not like her, but she was actually going to do it. She was…actually going to do it!
Before she could examine her feelings too closely, she dove into the pool, gliding through the water as gracefully as she knew how. The feel was foreign to her. Water streamed over her puckered nipples, sensitizing them beyond belief. Her whole body soaked up the stimulation, just like it had Fionn’s touch. Was she truly that starved for sexual stimulation? Physical stimulation of any kind, really.
Shoving all thought from her head, LeeAnn concentrated on breathing, stroking her arms through the water. Turning once she reached the other side. One stroke at a time. It wasn’t long before she was on automatic, her muscles working expertly as she moved. She simply let herself go, her mind at ease, her body moving efficiently. Time didn’t matter. Her situation didn’t matter. All that mattered was one stroke of her arms. Then the next. Then turn. Repeat.
When she finally stopped, she was breathing heavily as she rested her arms on the side of the pool. The heavy feeling in her lungs was good. It had been longer than normal since she’d had a good swim and LeeAnn hadn’t realized how much she’d missed it.
She was about to climb out when she noticed Fionn lazily leaning against the wall, arms crossed over his chest. Instinctively, she sank to her neck in the water, not that it would do any good. He’d already seen everything she had and it wasn’t as if the water hid her very well.
Without a word, Fionn unbuttoned his shirt, shrugging out of it. His pants, shoes and socks followed soon after. He didn’t hurry, didn’t say a word, his intent clear. LeeAnn dimly realized she should retreat to the other end of the pool, or even climb out and put his shirt back on. Even if he saw her out of the water and completely naked again, it couldn’t possibly be worse than him getting in the water with her. Both of them naked.
Then she lost her breath and her mind blanked. Fionn’s body was indeed a work of art. Sculpted muscles, thick and bulging, rippled under his skin as he moved. Veins roped all along his arms in a stunning masculine display. The light dusting of red-gold hair over his chest, arms, and legs made her tremble as she remembered it abrading her skin lightly in the most erotic touch just hours before.
And that magnificent cock…
Now, it bobbed proudly with every step he took. As he sank into the water, LeeAnn had to drag her gaze away from it, but nowhere she looked was any better. The man was a dazzling display of eye candy if ever there was one.
“So this is how you keep your body in such perfect condition,” he said in a low rumble. “Had I known, I’d have shown you here personally.”
“It’s the only demanding physical activity I get. Helps me think.” Or keeps me from thinking.
Fionn moved closer to her. LeeAnn knew she should retreat, should haul her ass out of that trap before he reached her. But she didn’t. Instead, she stood there in breathless anticipation.
“Then perhaps I need to make sure you have another activity to occupy your time. Something just as vigorous. Something to get that blood pumping.” The wicked gleam in his eye—as well as his straining cock—told her exactly what he was about to do. And LeeAnn knew she was going to let him.
Pulling her into his arms, Fionn found her lips with his, holding her body tightly against his. LeeAnn couldn’t stop the little whimper that escaped. It was no wonder, either. Those firm lips moved over hers, his tongue darting inside her mouth perfectly. Lord, the man could kiss! If she hadn’t already been in lust with him, just that wonderful kiss could have melted her resolve. Knowing what else he could do with that tongue only made it worse. If she were smart, she’d remember he was a dangerous man from a dangerous family. Instead, she met his advances with demands of her own. Fionn could do anything with her—to her—and she was helpless to stop him.
One of his big hands found her breast, his thumb feathering lightly over the wet nipple. Lightly, he pinched the puckered flesh, tugging until she squealed. LeeAnn let herself simply absorb the sensations he was effortlessly creating. Her body was his to play with, no matter that her mind was screaming that this could be bad for her. She simply had no willpower where he was concerned. It was as if all the drive she used to focus herself on her work, to push through difficult problems and solve them no matter the cost, had deserted her. This was quite possibly the most important fight of her life and she was willingly surrendering.
What the hell?
Letting her head fall back, LeeAnn simply enjoyed what Fionn did to her. There was no doubt she’d enjoy anythin
g he chose to subject her to. Why fight it? She was helpless to resist anyway.
As if he read her mind, Fionn urged her to wrap her legs around him as he deepened the kiss. In some kind of sexual haze, LeeAnn was vaguely aware of him moving her to the side of the pool before setting her on the cool tile. With a hand in the center of her chest, Fionn urged her to lie back. He stood between her spread thighs, wrapping his arms around them to pull her bottom over the edge. Before she could do more than gasp, Fionn dipped his head between her legs and latched on to her cunt.
LeeAnn moaned as she tunneled her fingers through his hair, holding her to him. Now that he knew what she liked, LeeAnn was sure he was using it against her. Everything that had driven her crazy before, he did again now. The man obviously paid close attention. Was this just another weapon? Probably. But even knowing that, LeeAnn couldn’t make herself do anything to stop him. She craved these sensations with everything in her.

Fionn had killed tonight. Come to LeeAnn with blood on his hands. He’d coldly broken the neck of the woman who’d gotten most of Shannon’s girls hooked on one drug or another. Replacing the majority of his informants—who happened to all be sex workers—would be a chore for Shannon, but Magda, or Magda Magpie as they’d called her, was dead. Fionn didn’t like killing women but this one had more than deserved it. She’d gotten off easy as far as Fionn was concerned. Unlike several of the girls who’d overdosed, she had died quickly without knowing it was coming. The slight crack as Fionn twisted her head hard and fast had been the only noise in the winter night.
Then he’d come home. To LeeAnn. Seeing her sleek, nude body gliding through the water made him wish he could wash himself clean of all the death and destruction. For the briefest of moments, Fionn was struck at how much he wanted a woman of his own. Just one woman he could confide in. Take solace from. A woman with a soul as light and whole as he was dark and broken.
“Oh, God! Fionn!” LeeAnn arched her back, setting her feet on his shoulders to give herself leverage to move on his mouth. He loved that she took what she wanted. The girl might be backward in some ways, but when she unleashed her passion, she was an aggressive and demanding lover. She wasn’t a woman who would ever share him with another. Just a day ago, Fionn remembered thinking how fantastic sex with the two practiced call girls had been. LeeAnn’s touches, her cries, her body’s movements were anything but practiced. She was genuine. Passionate to the extreme. While he was sure the blonde and redhead he’d fucked had enjoyed themselves as much as he had, they hadn’t felt this level of pleasure. Hell, he hadn’t felt this level of pleasure. Maybe her lusts fueled his own. Maybe it was the thought that he’d been the man to bring such a beautiful, intelligent woman to this state of blissful mindlessness. Whatever it was, Fionn never—never—wanted to give it up.
Raising his face from between her thighs, Fionn brought his hand down on her cunt with a sharp slap. That was when LeeAnn lost her goddamned mind.
Her scream was probably heard for a block. And it went on and on. She stopped only to suck in an obviously much-needed breath before she cried out again. Fionn was shaking as he used his free hand to aim his cock at her entrance. The other arm was still clamped over one dark thigh, holding it to his shoulder while she braced the other foot on the side of the pool.
LeeAnn met each of his vicious thrusts with a wicked one of her own, whipping her hips at him, taking everything she wanted from him. Hands reaching for him, gripping his ass as he fucked her, she dug her nails into his skin. The bite of pain nearly caused him to lose his seed. Had he not been so determined to take her with him, he likely would have come instantly. When she raked her nails over his hip, scratching like a little kitten intent on getting what she wanted, Fionn batted her hands away before smacking her clit once more. Then again, harder this time. The shocked look on her face made him do it one last time before he threw his head back, roaring to the ceiling just as loud as she had before. Her anguished cry followed his shout and their voices mingled in the air together just as their bodies did. The spasms of her cunt milked him long after he thought he’d finished, giving him a continued pleasure Fionn has never experienced before.
Fionn felt like he’d just emptied his soul inside LeeAnn along with his cum. When she whimpered, reaching for him weakly, he knew she felt the same connection he did. With the last strength he possessed, he scooped LeeAnn up and made his way to the steps out of the pool. Taking them to the hot tub he settled her over him chest to chest, her legs straddling his hips. She laid her head on his shoulder, her breath still coming in little gasps against his neck.
Hot water bubbled and fizzed around them, soothing aching muscles. Fionn stroked LeeAnn’s back gently, his fingers trailing lazily up and down her spine. When she shifted a little, Fionn growled before he could stop himself, wrapping both his arms tightly around her to hold her in place.
“I’m not letting you go, LeeAnn. Get used to being here.”
“I have school,” she said weakly, sleepily. “I’ve worked my whole life to get my Ph.D. and I will finish it.”
“We’ll work something out where you can do your work here. I’ll build you whatever you need. I don’t care if it’s a fucking air base. You’re not leaving me. And I can’t let you run around unprotected on the MIT campus.”
He thought she’d protest, but she simply sighed, giggling a little. “OK, Daddy Warbucks. But I think you’re biting off more than you can chew.” Then she sighed, and didn’t move.
Fionn could have happily closed his eyes and passed out as well, but he wanted to be comfortable when he rested with her. In this case, “comfortable” equaled “dry and lying down.”
Somehow, he managed to get them back to his bedroom, dried, and spooned together with the covers securely over them. With one final kiss to her hair, Fionn wrapped her securely in his arms and slept like the dead.
Chapter Ten
They weren’t alone in the house. Some innate sense Fionn had always possessed snagged him, raising an alarm he was well familiar with. LeeAnn lay sprawled over his chest, her body half on top of him; her slight weight seemed to pin him to the bed. Fionn didn’t even try to be subtle when he rolled from underneath her to the nightstand where his gun lay on the alarm clock where he could reach it easily. A quick check of his weapon showed him it was fully loaded with a round in the chamber. Whatever motherfucker had invaded his home was about to die. Slowly. If the bastard was lucky.
Weapon ready, Fionn snagged a pair of jeans from the nearby dresser, slinging them on quickly before grabbing a T-shirt for LeeAnn. She sat up, not saying a word but as the moonlight bathed her face, he could see her eyes wide with fear. He didn’t say anything to her, merely pulled her across the bed, urging her to crouch beside it on the floor. Surprisingly, she didn’t fight him, merely took her cues from him. Fionn quickly got the shirt over her head before placing his mouth right at her ear.
“Someone’s in the house. Lock yourself in the bathroom until I come back for you.”
“What are you going to do?” Fionn could see her eyes sparkling up at him. There was fear, of course, but there was also a hard resolve. Which was why he got the sinking feeling she wasn’t going to do what he told her.
“Kill them.”
“I just knew you’d say that,” she muttered under her breath, but, surprisingly, thankfully, crept silently to the bathroom. “Fionn?” She said his name softly, almost like a caress. When he looked at her, she said, “Try not to get yourself killed. I’d be very put out if you did.” Then she shut and locked the door as he’d instructed.
Fionn couldn’t help his smile. He no longer cared why he felt this way, only that it continued. With that thought, he checked his weapon one more time. Woe be unto whomever was in his house because, in his mind, an invader put LeeAnn in danger. Any danger to her, Fionn would annihilate.
Silently, he made his way through the house, checking everything as he went. Fionn knew his place. When he’d come home from
killing Magda, he’d noted every place LeeAnn had been just by her footfalls on the carpet, the odd handprint on the immaculate wood furnishings, or an object slightly out of place. As he made his way to the kitchen, he knew whoever was here hadn’t yet ventured into the main part of the house.
When he approached the kitchen, however, he saw them. Three shadowy figures conversing quietly. Outside the kitchen entry, he saw his guard sprawled out on the patio, his neck at an odd angle. With all the electronic security he had, the guard seemed like an overkill, but at the time, he’d been more concerned about LeeAnn trying to escape than he’d been about anyone breaking in to get her. She wouldn’t care if she tripped an alarm. All of this told him two things. First, whoever these guys were, they were good. He wouldn’t underestimate them. Second, he was going to kill every last motherfucking one of them.
Without further thought, Fionn took aim and squeezed the trigger. Two went down immediately—brain and bone would be splattered all over his kitchen wall if his aim was true. The third ducked into the shadows. His footsteps were faint, but Fionn could make them out, headed deeper into his home.
That familiar cold washed over Fionn. In that state, he felt nothing but the ice inside him that allowed him to kill repeatedly without losing his sanity. Stalking the intruder in his house felt right this time. As if by attacking in Fionn’s lair, the bastard had signed his own death warrant and Fionn’s hands were clean for once. Above all things, he had to keep the man from LeeAnn. That in itself gave Fionn any justification he might have needed. If he’d had a conscience.
As he made his way after the third man, Fionn noticed signs that others had been in the area before he’d driven the intruder this way. Were there more? How many?
Fionn crouched down, staying in the shadows to evaluate the situation. While he had no doubt he could kill anyone he needed to, this time he had LeeAnn to think about. If they found her, not only could they use her against him, but they could very well hide behind her, making killing his prey more difficult. And, even though his aim was as deadly accurate as any sniper’s, he would never risk hitting LeeAnn.
