Tattooed Moon

….For they were one and the same…

Two years later…
“Julian, aren’t you going to finish your breakfast?” The woman stood there in the kitchen with a smirk on her face as she brought her silver tea mug to her lips for another sip. Her dark eyes narrowed upon him, and she set the thing down, enticing him with her slippery, seductive ways. He inhaled the air, smelling her perfume wafting in the air… oh how sweet she truly was.
“…I already ate.” He savored her flavor still resting within his mouth, loving all that she was and would become. Tossing her a casual wink, he rounded the corner to the living room, looking for his car keys. Julian ensured he was the first one at the shop, for now, he did more overseeing than hands on work after he’d been ambushed by Angela and Milan, a makeshift intervention. The life of tattooing however was engrained within him, inked, etched, forever… and he’d never be able to leave his love for it alone. However, he understood that there had to be balance, for without it, all things unleveled eventually slide and slip away.
So, he discovered a happy medium. He kept his work by appointment only, and ensured he didn’t bite off more than he could chew…well, at least the majority of the time. Soul Inscriptions had expanded; so much so, one of the upper rooms that used to be rented out to students had to be used for additional storage supply. There was simply no way around it – he’d become a true success. He had six artists in his shop, all of whom were acclaimed, accomplished, respected, and hand chosen by himself. Financial stability was his, but that didn’t mean shit to him in the grand scheme of things. What mattered most was that he had her…
Milan had his back, his front, his sky, his earth, his heart, his soul, his past, his present, and now his damn future…and he wouldn’t have it any other way.
He glanced up at the clock above his fireplace then raced back into the kitchen, plucking the little woman off her feet and into his arms.
I can’t leave just yet… Fuck it. I’ll just have to be late…
“Ahhhhh!” Milan squealed. “I’m going to be late for work if you don’t put me down.” He showered her with flirty kisses, ignoring her protests. She giggled.
“You’re a manager now, who cares!”
She smirked and dramatically rolled her eyes as he hoisted her even higher into his arms and led her back into their bedroom.
“Julian!” Breaking into laughter, she kicked and pounded his back as he claimed her like some caveman. And then, he paused before the black linen covered bed… the damn thing was his favorite Goth like retreat, equipped with recently extinguished white and red candles, and the delicious scent of vanilla musk still heavy in the air. Oh yes, this is where it all began…memories, sweet feather and rose quartz covered memories…
Flashes of when he’d made love to her the very first time entered his mind, crept into his psyche. Oh, how he loved how she gave herself to him… for he needed her far more than she ever needed him.
Snapping back into the present, he gently laid her down. He slowly sat back on his knees, relishing his feminine prize, then parted her silky robe, exposing his twin flame, his soulmate, his womb-moon for his personal pleasure…
“Ahhh…” She sighed ever so lightly as he gently ran his fingertips along her knee. Julian swallowed, taking her all in, and delicately traced the side of her long neck, the dip of her prominent collarbones, and got off on her increased breathing, panting…for he knew she was anticipating his next move. He needed to draw closer, much closer…not for sex, but for intimacy, to worship at her altar. Knowing him the way she did, she pulled him towards her, made him lay his weary head against her bare, soft breasts. He pressed his cheek gently into the right one as he cupped the other in a delicate cradle, his body flush against her as he lay on his side. They said nothing… only breathed… and breathed some more. Soon, he let his fingers meander down her chest, slowly…so slowly… And then, there it was… He leaned down for a spell, and pressed his lips firmly against her navel—careful so very careful…
After all, his seed was growing within of her… a precious little girl soon to be born. Milan had picked out her name as soon as she knew what they were having, asked him if it was to his liking…
Juliana Katrina Savant…
…And he absolutely loved it.
Now, the day happened to be a somber day, a day of pain, but also one of renewal and growth. It was the anniversary of the day his father had drawn his last breath. Julian stayed in a land of distraction, but as most soulmates do, the woman by his side knew her man… And what did she do? Plant a kiss upon his head, his heart, his cock and his spirit…then handed him an early Father’s Day card. He read the damn thing, teared up a bit, and ushered her legs open, devouring her, loving her, on that particular morning. He’d been so famished, hungry for the food only she could provide. His heart hurt a bit, but she was his medicine, made everything all right.
Back to the present…
He wrapped his arm around her extended stomach, enjoying his family of three.
Three…
The number of completion…
But he wasn’t finished with her by a long shot. This was only the beginning. Yes, this was only the start of what was to come, and he simply couldn’t wait to be that never-ending song and story, the one he’d promised her they’d be…
Why? Because tattoos last forever…
And he planned to love her just as long.
And opera music was in her soul,
And he wanted to help her sing the song…

We’ve got yellowed yesterday, but yesteryear hurt.
We’ve got toiled inscriptions on our souls, and the piercing pain lingers—
We’ve got soothing love written all over our writhing bodies and muddled minds.
We’ve got inky love swirling around our fingers.
We’ve got picturesque healing for today,
So that we can partake in an even more glorious tomorrow—
The scabby wounds of adoration lost still remain.
Leaving us at times drowning in blue-black sorrow.
Steaming tea and golden roses
Was only a small part of your persona revival—
Haunting opera music surrounds your spirit.
You’re a fighter, sleeping on a bed of delayed tears, called survival.
The dead brought us together,
But I lived through you, and you breathed through me—
We were travelling a road of loves lost,
Yes, we were brought together via tragedy.
I’ve been waiting, expecting you, my Love,
And I knew I’d meet my exquisite bride soon—
Our sacrifice of rich ink and fresh blood intermingled
For you shined down on me, Milan…
You are my coveted
tattooed moon…
The End

Book Club Questions
1. This book deals heavily with loss and grief; however, it also discusses healing and growth. What were some things that you could identify with Milan, if anything, regarding her response to losing someone so close to her?
2. Julian is not your ‘typical’ Alpha male. He is not loud, nor overly aggressive until pushed to that level – as demonstrated by his behavior at Milan’s coworker’s retirement party. In three words or less, how would you describe Julian?
3. Milan and Julian are very different people. Why do you believe they were drawn to one another, and their relationship worked so well?
4. Julian would be considered by many to be eccentric, possibly even strange. He is into self healing, the art of the tattoo, and is very open-minded. He is also unconventional, intelligent, and appears to buck at rules and traditions. How do you think he became this way?
5. Julian works with interesting people in his shop. He is also a perfectionist, as is evidenced by his lack of sleep and inner thoughts regarding his obligations and job. How did this possibly aid and hinder him, relationship and career wise?
6. Milan is a responsible woman, who is intelligent, capable, and has just suffered a great loss. What are the reasons you believe she was so offended by what was happening to her at work with respect to her new supervisor Martin? Have you ever had to deal with a ‘Martin’ as well?
7. Why do you think Julian opened up to Milan about the loss of his son during their first date? It was stated he hadn’t been this open with anyone before, so what was it about Milan that made him feel as if he could finally get it off his chest?
8. What scene in the book surprised you the most?
9. What do you personally think about people who have multiple tattoos? Do you yourself have body art and if so, how do you believe you’ve been perceived?

12. How would you personally describe grief after losing someone you love?
13. What was one of your favorite scenes in the book?
14. Did you learn anything from this novel? If so, what?
