“I won’t. I’m so excited! It won’t be long before his single sexy dad cock has a nice warm home again.”
I just stared at her. “Jesus. You need Jesus.”
“So I’ve been told.” She shrugged. “Are you nervous about staying the night with lover boy?”
I took a deep breath. “A little. It’s been a while since…ya know.”
“Did you at least trim that shit up? Do you want me to inspect to make sure it’s all good?”
“No! It’s fine! I actually got waxed a few days ago, if you have to know.”
She stomped her foot. “Why didn’t you tell me? I could have done it for you!”
“That’s exactly why I didn’t tell you. I don’t trust you with hot wax period, let alone around my vagina.”
“You’re such a bitch. I do mine all the time and I’ve received many compliments on my skills, thank you.”
“I’ll take your word for it.”
Chapter Twenty-One: Carson
"STRIKE THREE! YOU'RE OUT! GAME!"
I love hearing the Ump calling the end of the game, especially when we win. Luckily, we were ahead at the top of the ninth, so after getting our three outs without letting any runs score we didn't have to play the bottom of the inning.
I was walking to the dugout after shaking Ryan's hand on a job well done when I spotted Sammie leaving her post as ball girl on the third baseline. "Hey, Sam!"
She jogged over to us. "Hey Carson. What's up?"
"Do you mind grabbing Melody and bringing her down here? Ryan and I are going to sign for some of the fans before security kicks them out."
"Sure, no problem." She looked over to Ryan and smiled brightly. "Congrats on a great game, Ryan."
He returned the smile. "Thank you."
"You're welcome. I'll be right back"
After she was out of ear shot, Ryan nudged me in the arm. "I know I’ve talked to her a few times this year, but how am I just now realizing that our new ball girl is fucking hotter than hell? Maybe it’s because it’s the first time I’ve seen her in those sweet white shorts. Fuck me…"
“You do realize she has been the ball girl for the team for two years, right?”
“Stop fucking around. I would have remembered those legs and tits.” He turned around and watched Sammie jog over to Melody’s seats. “Son of a bitch, her ass is perfect.”
"Leave her alone. She’s not the type of girl you usually fuck with. She’s a good girl."
"Fuck yeah, she is." He turned back and shook his head slightly. "Damn, I need some of that."
"Thank God your cup is hiding your chub." I shoved him towards the third baseline where there were a small crowd of fans hanging out. I know I signed at least fifty autographs before security escorted the fans out of the stadium for the night. I'll never get used to kids wanting my signature on a ball, or hearing one of them say I'm their favorite player. I walked away from the crowd with a smile on my face, making my night more than winning the game did.
That was until I saw Melody outside of the dugout talking to Coach and Sammie.
Damn, she is so beautiful.
I slipped into the dugout quickly so I could take my gear off when I heard Coach walk in, calling out for me. "I got someone here for ya, Lawrence. Don't know what a pretty young one like this wants with the likes of you." He joked.
Melody stepped out from behind him. "I'm only after him for his killer singing voice."
"Exactly." I winked at her. I noticed she was holding a baseball in her hand. "You want to throw a few before we head out?" I asked her.
"I don't have a mitt."
I saw Sammie talking to Ryan. That didn’t take long. "Sam, can Mel use your mitt?"
Sammie threw her mitt to Mel. "Sure, have fun!"
Melody put the mitt on, looking a bit scared. "I'm not very good."
"At throwing or catching?" I asked.
"Both."
I grabbed my face mask. "I think I'll need this, then."
She threw her mitt at me. "Asshole. Weren't you the one who hit me in the face with a ball? Some way to get a girl's attention."
Coach laughed. "You tell him, Mel. Don't take any of his shit. You should be the one wearing a face mask."
I put my glove on and handed hers back to her, kissing her on the forehead. "It worked, though. I got the attention of the most beautiful fan girl in the league."
Coach smacked me on the back as I left the dugout. "Don't stay out there too late, kids. The grounds crew will have my ass."
"We won't." And that was the truth. Tonight Melody was coming over to my place for the first time, and there was no way in hell I would waste more time than necessary here at the ballpark. I jogged up to her as she walked to the center of the outfield, looking at the empty seats of the stadium.
"Do you ever get awe struck by all this? The lights shining on you during night games, the screaming fans, the smell of freshly cut grass...it must be the best feeling in the world."
I took a moment to look around as she was, not getting this view of the stadium too often. "Sometimes I have to pinch myself when I walk through the gates before a game. I literally pinch myself. This is what I used to dream about when I was young, and for it to be a reality…it just doesn't feel real sometimes. I try to soak up every ounce of it because I know it can be taken away in an instant. But I can say that right now, at this point in my life, I'm living out my dream, and I've never been happier."
She reached out and grabbed my hand, squeezing it lightly. "It sounds pretty perfect."
I pulled her against my chest and put my arms around her. "Now it's pretty perfect."
She stood on her tiptoes and kissed me briefly. "Are you just saying swoony things to get me to do wicked things in bed tonight, Mr. Lawrence?" Her eyes were shining, almost as if she were hoping I would say yes.
"I'm saying swoony things because they're the truth. We can do crazy wicked things or not so crazy wicked things, but one thing is certain; I’ll fall asleep with you in my arms. And there is nothing else I would rather do tonight."
She wrapped her arms around me and laid her head against my chest, and I'll be damned if it didn't feel fucking amazing. "How about we start to head back to my place?" I asked.
"I thought you wanted to throw a few balls?" She questioned, although the smile on her face suggested she liked my idea much better.
"Not anymore."
She bit her lip. "Good."
Thank you, Jesus.
I took her hand and started walking to the dugout to grab my things when she stopped walking. "There's one thing I forgot." She said.
"What is it?"
She put her hand on my chest and smirked. "You're it." She took off running towards second base, tapping it with her foot as she sped up towards third. I ran after her, knowing I could easily catch up. She rounded third, and I closed the gap when she was about to touch home plate. I lifted her from behind and twirled her in circles in the batter's box, giggles freely escaping her beautiful mouth.
And that is now my new favorite sound of the ballpark.

"Seriously? This is where you live?"
I managed to score one of the apartments in Fells Point's Kingston Tower. It's a harbor front apartment building that has killer views of the city and overlooks the water. I knew Melody would appreciate the location of the building. "Yup. When I got signed to the Birds, I got lucky and found this place. The tenants before me had just put their notice in right before I called the office manager."
She turned in her seat as I shut the engine off. "Do you know how badly I wanted a place here? I had been on a wait list for two years and finally took my name off it when I bought my condo. You seriously lucked out."
"I did in more ways than one. I only live about a mile's walk away from you."
She bit her lip to keep from smiling. "So you do." She opened the car door and slid out, looking at me. "Don't become a stalker."
Melody’s face when she walked i
nside of my actual apartment was more shock than awe. “Did you decorate this place? It doesn’t look like a bachelor pad at all.” She walked through the kitchen, admiring the modern and sleek design. I didn’t give a shit about any of that as long as I had a fridge, freezer and microwave.
“It came furnished.”
She rolled her eyes and sighed. “God, I hate your guts.”
I leaned in from behind and kissed under her ear. “No you don’t.”
She shivered at the contact, but tried to hide it. “I also didn’t expect for your place to be clean and neat.”
“I’m hardly home. But when I am, I pick up my shit and put it away. Things have a place. I do have someone come in and do regular cleaning while I’m not home, but for the most part, I take care of the rest.”
She bumped her shoulder into me slightly. “Will you be my roommate?” She joked.
I leaned over her and paused before kissing her. “Having you live in the same apartment would constantly have me turned on. Don’t tease me like that.” I placed a chaste kiss to her lips and grabbed her hand. “Come on, I want to show you the rest of the place.”
I led her into my living room, which had unobstructed views of the harbor. She gasped, turning back to me. “Okay, I seriously hate your guts now. And don’t try to kiss me and make me change my mind.”
I couldn’t help but to laugh. “The view in my bedroom is similar.”
I caught the slight hitch of her breath. “I loathe you.” Except she didn’t say it like she meant it. Not at all.
She followed me down the hall, where I showed her the guest bedroom and bath, then opened the door to my bedroom. Her eyes grew wide as she took in the large space. I put her bag on my bed and watched her walk around the room slowly, making her way to the floor to ceiling windows. “Can anyone from the outside see inside?”
I picked up the remote that sat on my nightstand and pushed the button, turning the window opaque. “It would be hard for anyone to see inside at night with the lights off, but the windows have the option to turn opaque for privacy. With the building being directly on the water, it’s unlikely anyone could get close enough to see inside anyways.”
She nodded, her focus still on the view of the harbor. I grabbed the blue bag off of my dresser and walked over to Melody. “I got something for you.”
Her face lit up when she noticed the print on the bag. She bounced slightly and clapped. “I love gifts in the team store gift bags!”
I laughed as I handed her the bag. “Go ahead and open it.”
She tossed the white tissue paper from the bag and pulled out the white jersey. She unfolded it and held it up, looking over the team’s name and logo sprawled across the chest. “Oh, I love it.”
“Turn it around.” I told her.
When she did, a gasp followed. “Carson! It’s your player jersey! Holy shit!” She examined the shirt, running her fingers carefully over my last name stitched on the back of the jersey, then over my number, thirty-one.
I couldn’t help but to grin. “I have to admit, I’m probably a little selfish buying it for you. I wanted to see my number and last name on you, no one else’s.”
She lifted onto her tip toes to kiss me. “You just didn’t want me to wear Ross’ shirt.” She said against my lips.
I wrapped my arms around her tightly, suddenly feeling possessive. “Damn straight.”
“I actually looked for your shirt after you visited me in the hospital and I couldn’t find it anywhere online.”
“That’s because these are brand new. You got the first one.”
She smiled. “I’ll wear it with pride.”
I touched my forehead to hers. “I hope you’re the only girl who ever wears my shirt.”
She rolled her eyes. “I’m sure tons of people will be buying your shirt, especially females.”
She didn’t understand. “You’re the only one that matters. I hope you’ll be wearing it for a really, really long time.”
She rubbed a hand against my cheek. “I plan to.”
I kissed her again, knowing from the look in her eyes that we’re on the same level. She pulled back slightly. “I need to get ready for bed, can I have a few minutes?”
My dick stirred at the thought. “Take your time. I’ll be out in the kitchen.”
I sat at the breakfast bar and read through my emails to occupy some time. Knowing that Melody was likely naked or semi-naked just on the other side of the wall was driving me crazy. Tonight might be the night, or it might not be. I’m not going to push either way, but just let things happen. All I know for certain is she’s going to be in my bed tonight, and I can’t wait to wrap myself around her and fall asleep next to her.
I was typing an email to my mom when I heard the bedroom door creak open. “You can come in whenever.” She called out.
“I’ll be there in a minute.” I answered.
I finished the email and made sure it sent before walking into the bedroom. The lamps were off, the only light in the room was from the harbor. Melody was standing in front of the window, her back to me, wearing the jersey I had just given her.
“Are you okay?” I asked, hoping she wasn’t regretting being here with me.
She turned around, and my heart stopped beating for a moment. The jersey was unbuttoned in the front, revealing a black lacey bra and panty set. I will never look at my uniform the same again. Her long blonde hair was swept into a messy bun on top of her head, showing off the beautiful curve of her neck.
“You’re breathtaking.” I managed to speak.
She looked down her body, her face scrunching slightly. “It’s been a while since…”
I closed the distance between us slowly, looking directly into her eyes the entire time. “I’m not interested in your prior experience. Just you, here and now.” I said quietly. I ran my hand up her arm, over her shoulder and up to her cheek. “We don’t have to do this, baby. I just want to be with you. That’s all.”
Her eyes softened and she leaned her head into my hand. “I’m not scared to be with you. I’m just a little nervous. I want this. I want you.” She whispered.
I pressed my lips to hers softly before saying “We’ll take our time. You set the speed, I’ll follow.”
She nodded before kissing me again. Her slightly shaking hands rested on my waist, gathering the bottom of my shirt and lifting it slowly. I broke away from her mouth long enough to allow her to pull the cotton over my head, then dove back into our kiss. Her fingers explored the bare skin of my chest and abs, her feather light touches turning me on more than I ever have been before.
My hands slid inside of her jersey and ran up the length of her back, then down again, stopping at the lacey fabric of her panties. “Can I take the jersey off?” I asked.
She nodded. I carefully and slowly pushed the jersey off her shoulders and down her arms, allowing it to fall to the floor beside my shirt. Melody stood in front of me in nothing but her underwear, and I swear, I’ve never seen anything more beautiful in my entire life.
“You’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.” I said truthfully.
I could tell by the look in her eyes that she didn’t believe me. I grabbed her hand and placed it over my painful erection. “I’ve never been harder in my entire life, and it’s because you’re standing in front of me looking unrealistically gorgeous. You’re doing this to me, no one else. Do you understand?”
“Yes.” She breathed heavily, running her hand down the length, then up again. She unbuttoned my pants and slid her hands down the back between my jeans and my boxers. The jeans fell to the floor and I stepped out of them, leaving the both of us only in our underwear. I turned her around and pulled her back to my chest. My breath danced along the back of her neck, goosebumps covering every inch of her exposed skin.
I brushed my lips over her shoulder, slowly moving to the curve of her neck. "This spot on you is so beautiful. I love when you're wearing your hair up for me to see it." An uneven sigh
escaped her mouth at my teasing. I rested my hands on her hips and kissed her shoulder. "I want to spend the entire evening exploring you..." My lips continued up her neck and stopped just below her ear. "...from head to toe..." My hand slid over her hip, my fingers brushing against the waistband of her panties. "...and everywhere in between." I allowed my fingers to slide down against the front of her panties. I knew she would be wet, but the groan of approval that just left her lips confirmed that she was turned on just as much as I was. "Is this what you want?" I whispered, taking the lobe of her ear into my mouth.
