"Yes." Her voice a strangled whisper. My body was already shaking with anticipation. I turned her around and picked her up, putting her on the bed. I crawled over her, surprised when she opened her legs for me to settle in between. I watched her intently as she unhooked her bra and tossed it to the side, her full breast bare for me. “Touch me.” She asked quietly. I softly ran my hands over her breast, her eyes closing as I brushed over the erect nipples. I covered one with my mouth, being rewarded with a sharp gasp. I took my time, licking and touching and savoring both sides until she was squirming underneath me, silently begging to be taken care of elsewhere.

I kissed down her smooth stomach, her hips already coming slightly off the bed. “Carson…I need you.” She whimpered. “Let me touch you.”

I kissed along the edge of her panty line before answering. “Soon, baby. I need to make you feel good first. Can I take these off?”

Her hips lifted instantly. I grabbed the lacey edges and slowly lowered them until the ball of lace was in my hand. “Holy fuck, you waxed.” I noticed, feeling like I could come on the spot.

She popped her head up from the bed. “Is that okay?”

“Sweetheart, it’s perfect. There will be nothing in my way of what I’m about to do.” I opened her legs widely, and I couldn’t help myself. I lowered my mouth to her mound, taking in one long, slow lick from the bottom to the top.

“Yes!” She cried out, her hands tangling into my hair. I swirled my tongue around her clit, taking time to learn what pace and the amount of pressure she liked best. My girl started grinding against my face, her panting growing louder by the moment. I slid a finger inside her, followed by another when I realized how wet she really was. “Carson! Holy shit!” I sucked on her clit and her hips moved in pace with my fingers, loving how she was letting go. She grabbed the sides of my head and held it against her tightly, her hips ground into my mouth for another moment before I felt her walls tighten against my fingers and her moans of ecstasy fill the room. I watched her as she came, her green eyes fixed on my brown, and nothing had ever been more perfect. I slowly licked her as she came off her high, her limbs soon giving up and falling limp to the sides. I crawled up her body, and much to my surprise, she leaned up and kissed me hard, despite that I had just gone down on her. No other girl I had ever been with let me do that. “I love that you taste like me.” She said shyly.

I was so close to losing my shit. “I love that you let me kiss you while I taste like you.”

Melody sat up and hooked her thumbs into the waistband of my boxers. “I need you in me, Carson.” She slid my boxers down my thighs and I removed them the rest of the way. She reached out and wrapped her hand around the base, her eyes widening.

I kissed her softly. “I’ll be careful.”

She kissed me a little harder, this time biting my lip gently. “I like it.”

  This girl…

I grabbed a condom from the nightstand and rolled it on, pushing her legs apart. “Are you sure you’re ready?”

“Get in me, Carson.” She demanded.

I laid over her and pushed in slowly, taking a few thrusts to get the entire way in. The warmth and tightness already had me close. I rested my head in the crook of her neck, trying to calm down.

Melody kissed the side of my neck, then rolled her hips, both of us moaning together. “Damn it, baby. You feel so fucking good and I haven’t even started.” I pulled out and thrusted forward again, this time not stopping. Melody’s legs wrapped around my waist, pulling me deeper inside her.

“Carson, you’re so deep. I’m getting close again.” She cried, holding onto me tightly.

I could feel her starting to shake, and I was getting close myself. I had to hold off until she came, and I was hoping it wouldn’t take much longer. I ground my hips into her with more pressure, and within two more strokes she was tightening around me, her spasms stronger than the first. “Carson! Oh my…”

I rested my forehead to hers and chased my orgasm. I was so close, and when she grabbed onto my ass and pulled me in tighter than I thought was possible, I fell off the ledge. My chest was rising and falling hard as I chanted her name into her neck. I rolled over, still inside her, and laid her on my chest. I wrapped both arms around her, holding her tight against me. This girl has fucking ruined me. “That exploration went well, I believe.”

She giggled against my skin. "Really well." She confirmed.

I rubbed my hand over her bare back, loving the way she fits against me. “I’m going to keep you, just so you know.” I told her.

She looked up at me, her sleepy green eyes smiling. “I’m okay with that, just so you know.”

  Chapter Twenty-Two: Melody

Thank God for evening games in the summer. With the midsummer sun in full scorch mode, the afternoon games have been sweltering. With school out for the summer, Lexi has been joining me for more afternoon games, although she complains most of the time about having boob sweat. Tonight, however, she is at home nursing a sun burn from yesterday’s game. I warned her to use sunscreen, but she said she’d rather be red than smell like monkey ass during the game.

"Mel, I have a bit of a favor to ask."

I turned in my seat to face Clay. He has never asked me for anything. Ever. "What's up?"

"Do you have any extra tickets for the Atlanta game?"

"I think so, let me check.” I scrolled through the calendar on my phone, verifying that I hadn’t promised to bring anyone with me to that particular game. “Nope, looks like I’ll be alone. What’s up?”

He readjusted his hat over his snow white hair. "I...uh...have someone I would like to bring to the game and I was wondering if I could borrow your seats and you could sit in mine?"

I arched a brow. "Someone, huh? As in a lady friend?"

"She is a friend who happens to be a female."

I bounced in my seat. "Uncle Clay! You have a girlfriend?"

"Don't go giving it titles and shit. She's my friend and she likes baseball, so I thought it might be nice to bring her to the game."

“How did you meet your lady friend?”

  “I met her at bingo.”

“You play bingo? I love bingo! Can I come along sometime?”

  “No.”

I pouted. "Fine, since you asked nicely, you can have my seats for the game."

His shoulders fell in relief. "Thank you, that means-"

  "On one condition."

His eyes popped back to mine. "What?"

"You have to be nice to Carson. No more talking bad about him."

His face wrinkled in disgust. "Come on Little Mel, that asshole nearly killed you on opening day."

I pointed a finger at him. "For the millionth time, it was an accident. It's already the end of June and you're still holding a grudge from two months ago. Get over it."

"And if I don't?" He challenged.

"Then you can still have the seats..."

He smiled as if he won the entire argument.

"But I'll bring Lexi and make her sit next to you two. She'll make a great impression on your lady friend."

His eyes widened. "You would not."

  "Try me."

He put his elbows on his knees, chewing it over. "Damn you, Mel. Leave Lexi the hell at home and I'll be nicer to Carson."

"No, you'll be nice to Carson, period. For the rest of the season."

"FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON?"

I gave him a pointed look, and he sighed heavily. "Fine. I'll be nice to Carson for the rest of the season. But if we go into post-season, all bets are off."

Meh, it's better than nothing. I extended my hand. "Deal."

He shook my hand, then sat back in his chair. "Don't let Lexi in this ballpark that night."

I smiled. "I won't. She’ll be out of town with her parents that weekend."

His mouth dropped. "You sneaky bastard."

I winked then turned back in my seat.

  ***

  “Hello? Earth to Melody?”
Carson’s voice broke through my current thoughts. I turned to look at him from the passenger seat.

  “Did you say something?”

He chuckled. “I asked if you were okay. You seem a little spacey this morning.”

  Guilty.

I may be freaking out a little that I’m about to meet Carson’s mom. We are sitting in the car in the parking lot of the airport to pick her up, her flight due to land in twenty minutes. “I’m just wondering what your mom is going to think of me.” I’ve heard horror stories from other friends about how mothers can sometimes be super overprotective of their “baby boys” and turn mega bitch to the girlfriends. Carson has a strong relationship with his mother, which is wonderful, but worries me a bit. Is she going to go psycho on me and threaten to chop off my hair if I hurt him?

“You’re worried my mom is going to hate you.” He said with a smile.

“Don’t tease me, Carson! This is serious. You are her only child and she is probably super protective of you, not that I blame her. She’s going to think I’m some floozy who is trying to steal her baby away.”

He put his hand on my thigh. “Sweetheart, she’s not going to think that. If anything, she’ll thank you for keeping me straight while she’s not around.”

  “She’s going to think I’m a whore.”

He laughed, trying to cover it up with a cough.

“Don’t laugh at me, asshole! This is stressful.”

Carson unhooked my seatbelt and pulled me into his lap. “My mom is going to adore you. If I thought for one moment that she wouldn’t approve of you, I probably wouldn’t be dating you. She is a fantastic judge of character. There is nothing about you she won’t love, I can guarantee that. Who knows, she might end up liking you more than me.” He winked.

“I’ve never met a guy’s parents. I guess I haven’t been to this part of a relationship before.” I admitted.

He kissed me softly, then pressed his forehead to mine. “Is this too soon for you? Do you want me to slow things down?”

I thought about it briefly, the answer obvious. “No. I like how things are playing out.”

A smirk formed on his lips. “Me too.”

“So I get to meet your mom today, when do I get to meet your dad?”

He froze beneath me, his entire mood shifting. “You won’t. My dad is a selfish prick and I don’t talk often. I’m actually doing you a favor by keeping you from him.”

  “What did he do?”

Carson lifted me from his lap and placed me back into the passenger seat. He ran a hand through his hair and refused to look at me. “It’s in the past, something I don’t like talking about.”

“Baby, you can talk to me about anything.” I encouraged.

“Not this. Please don’t push it, Melody.” His voice was icy, and the last thing I wanted was to fight before his meeting his mother.

“Okay, I’m sorry.” I said quietly.

He nodded, but silence filled the car for a few minutes. He finally leaned over and kissed the side of my head and opened the car door. I sighed, taking a moment to gather my thoughts before getting out of the car. He opened my door and held out his hand, and I gladly took it. I slipped out and felt a smack across my ass.

“Ow! What the hell was that for?”

He shut the door behind him and grinned. “Come on, we can’t be late picking my mom up. She’ll think you’re a bad influence.” He winked and strutted towards the airport entrance, leaving me standing at the car.

Thank God he got over that quickly.

Note to self: don’t bring up Carson’s dad.

  Chapter Twenty-Three: Carson

Watching Mel fidget over meeting my mom was pretty adorable. What was even more hilarious was Melody’s reaction when Mom walked past me and bear hugged her instead. You could literally see the tension leave Mel’s shoulders when she returned the hug. It’s only been two hours since they met, but they’re already getting along better than I knew they would. Mom is telling Melody my embarrassing childhood stories over a pitcher of sangria, and I’m actually enjoying it. I don’t care that Mel is finding out that I refused to wear anything other than superman underwear for two solid years or my first kiss resulted in a black eye. Just seeing the two of them together feels like all is right with the world. That this is a good possibility of what my future may hold.

That Melody may very well be the one.

“You’re being awful quiet over there.” Melody said, catching my attention.

I took a long draw of my beer. “Just letting you ladies get to know one another, even if it is at my ego’s expense.”

Melody put her hand on my knee under the table and gave me a smile. “I’m sorry, these stories are just too cute to pass up.”

I kissed her temple, then looked at Mom. “Are you ready to head back to my place? I’m sure you’re tired from the flight.”

Mom looked at the pair of us, a proud gleam in her eye. “Why don’t you drop me off and you kids go out? I know it’s not often that you have a night off.”

I looked at Melody for confirmation, but she shook her head. “You came into town to visit with your son. I have some work to catch up on, so I need to be heading home myself.”

“Are you sure, sweetie? I really don’t mind.” Mom interjected.

“I’m positive, but thank you for the offer.”

“Are you coming over later?” I asked more quietly, knowing she would understand I was asking if she was going to stay over tonight. We’ve spent every night together that I’ve been in town since that first night. Most nights are spent at my apartment for privacy. Although Lexi is a teacher, that is one word she doesn’t know the definition of.

Melody’s cheeks turned pink. “I’ll see you at the game tomorrow.”

Mom chuckled from across the table. “I’m not oblivious to the fact that you two stay over at each other’s places. It doesn’t bother me, Melody.”

Still, Mel shook her head. “I…it’s…I can’t. I have work to do.”

  “If you insist.” I shrugged.

We walked the short distance to Melody’s condo on the way back to my place. Mom gave Melody a hug and promised to meet tomorrow morning for brunch before the game. Melody stopped me from walking her up to her place.

“Don’t keep your mother out here so you can walk me to my door. I’m fine.”

“I’m going to miss you tonight.” And I meant it. Not because I wouldn’t be having sex (okay, that’s part of the reason), but because I’m going to miss her company. Just being around Melody makes me feel better in general.

“I’ll miss you too. But you need to spend time with your mom. She’s only in town for two nights, be with her as much as you can.”

“You can be with us, too.” I answered.

She smiled and shook her head. “It’s really okay, Carson. I have work to catch up on. Please, go be with your mom and enjoy the time with her. It’s important.”

And it hit me. She wants me to be with my mom because there may be a time eventually that I won’t have her anymore. Just like Melody doesn’t have her parents. She’s doing this for me. I held her face in my palms and looked at her for a moment, wondering how in the hell I got so lucky for this girl to be mine. I kissed her tenderly, hoping she could feel the amount of affection I have for her. I pulled away slowly, her eyes still closed just like the first night in the harbor. “Open your eyes, sweet girl.” I whispered.

Her eyes flickered open, a satisfied smile growing across her lips. “That was familiar.”

I kissed her forehead, then opened the door. “Goodnight, Melody.”

“Goodnight, Carson.” She walked through the lobby and I watched until she disappeared around the corner.

  “Looks like you found her.”

I turned around and saw my mom watching me. “What?”

“The special girl. I think you found her.”

I exhaled, looking back at the building. “I think so too.” I put my arm around Mom and sque
ezed her to me. “You’re still the most important woman in my life.”

She nudged me in the side. “You’ll always have two most important women. Your mother and your special girl. I’m okay with sharing the title with Melody.”

  “You like her?” I grinned.

“No.” She said simply. “I absolutely love her. And if you do anything to screw this up, I will kick your ass.”

And I believed all five foot one of her.

  Chapter Twenty-Four: Melody

“I can’t believe that place sold Captain Crunch French Toast. That was the most delicious thing I’ve ever had in my entire life.”

Carson’s mom was sitting next to me at the game, still raving about the brunch we had at Cool Cat Café over three hours ago.

“You should make him take you there for breakfast before your flight tomorrow.” I suggested.
