A Valentine for Two

No sooner had the door opened a crack, than Lucas and Talbot rushed into the room, shoving the nurse aside.
“Come meet your daughter.” Tears welled up in her eyes. In keeping with the Mersennean tradition, she allowed the nurses to clean her and her offspring off before bringing in her males. Because of the fact hers was the first Mersennean/Kinjani triad on record, she was treated as a high risk pregnancy, and they were all on edge. However, once the doctors handed her a perfect little female with violet hair, all concerns washed away.
“Daughter.” Lucas tiptoed over and took one side of the bed. “I’ve never seen anything so beautiful, except for you.”
“She so small.” Wonder lacing his tone, Talbot went to the other side. “I love her.”
Her Vertex and Meridian both took their turns kissing her and then kissing their baby.
“We need to name her.” Kenna kept her voice soft, and her little female moved causing them all to simply stare at her.
“Trevini.” Talbot kissed her forehead. “Like the trees that lead to the reflecting ponds.”
“It also means three.” Lucas smiled.
“She is going to be something special.” Kenna looked between the males that made up her family. “She is going to be unique in every way.”
“Of course.” Talbot took hers and Lucas’ hands. “Her family already changed the world.”

Chapter One
Carissa Wilson paced the floor of her downtown apartment. The open floor plan and view of Buffalo, NY, was part of what sold her on renting this place. Now, the spacious area lent to her stressful movements. Her socked feet padded silently across the wooden floors while she paced. Her eyes darted around the room. Normally, her bright colors would cheer her up, breathe life into any situation. Right now, it did nothing to lessen the stress she felt. “I know, I know Valentine’s Day is coming and I haven’t agreed to plans with either of you.”
“We don’t want to push you away by forcing a choice. But, it’s not fair to keep us hanging on, constantly wondering. Jealously rears its ugly head when you’re with the other one.”
She tossed her long black hair over her shoulder, turning to glare at Kent Chapman. His light brown hair was perfectly in place. Slightly longer in front, short in the back, Kent never looked rumpled. His green eyes matched the crisp polo shirt he wore tucked neatly into his khakis. He was her straight and narrow, cultural man, the one she could take to the Opera, or wander through a museum with. He liked wine and fancy meals. His weekly outfits were expensive suits and pressed shirts that rivaled his upper class clients. He was the top attorney in the city, powerful, he never lost. His client list was a who’s who of Buffalo.
Next to him, Jon ‘JP’ Parsons scoffed, as always, her adventurous bad boy. His shoulder length blonde hair was windblown, most likely from riding his Harley without a helmet, as he was wont to do. Though highly illegal, he enjoyed pushing boundaries. His tight black tee accented rock hard muscles with jeans, soft to the touch and perfectly broken in. His crooked nose, had been broken many times playing football, and ocean deep blue eyes lent to the chiseled effect of his appearance. As if sculpted by a Greek artist, he was her jock, the man she could go on spur of the moment vacations with, or lay with in bed watching cartoons and eating ice cream all day. He was a musician, playing gigs at night and spending the days enjoying life.
They were polar opposites, which added to the predicament before her. There was so much she loved about both men. Together, they could make the perfect soul mate. How could she truly love two men? Didn’t they say, you only had one great love in life?
“Would you please calm down and listen?” JP pleaded with her.
Collapsing onto the floor, Carissa crossed her legs Indian style, with her elbows pressed into her thighs. Leaning her head on her fists, she closed her eyes. The bad thing was, she just could not decide. No, that wasn‘t it. She didn’t want to decide. Didn’t want to have to live without one or the other.
“You want me to choose? I can’t, simply can’t.” Her voice grew quieter with each word, and her eyes prickled with tears. They were going to force a choice on her or she was about to lose both men. She just knew it. Her heart pounded with pain, making it hard to breathe.
“Riss,” JP said calmly. Looking up into his eyes, she always felt as if she lost in the sky, so deep blue, they were almost startling. “Calm down. We aren’t giving you an ultimatum. We may have actually come up with something.” Her gaze darted between them, her sight shifting between their faces. She couldn’t tell if they were serious or not. Were they going to choose for her? Her anger boiled as she shot to her feet.
“You know, this is not completely your choice, what if I don’t want the same option you pick?”
“Enough,” Kent said harshly. His voice boomed through the room, and her insides quivered. She loved it when he got all bossy on her. Especially in the bedroom. He was the dominant to her submissive side in the bedroom. Outside of there, she was in charge. So when that voice came out, she knew the time to shut up had arrived. “Sit,” he commanded, standing to loom over her short 5’4” frame. At just under six and a half feet, Kent was her tall Ken doll. Carissa listened immediately without thinking. Her legs buckled under her, as she collapsed back onto the floor. Her eyes instantly shifted to gaze down, the submissive personality taking over.
Highly shined dress shoes entered Carissa’s view. Kent crouched down and curled a finger under her chin, tilting her to face him. Her big eyes glistened with unshed tears and it tugged at his heart. How he hated that she was feeling any pain at all.
“We aren’t playing right now doll, so you don’t have to look down, but I need you to listen to what we have to say. Don’t interrupt anymore.” His voice softened, and her juices soaked the tiny panties she wore. She couldn’t help but squirm slightly, trying to get comfortable.
“What an awesome trick. I’ve never seen her follow instructions so quickly.” JP bounced up off the couch, his grin spread wide across his face.
Kent leveled his gaze at the carefree man, and Carissa watched as the impossible happened. JP sat back down, silently staring at the man before them.
Carissa felt an immense kinship with JP she never had before. Was he submissive too? Could they..? No, she didn’t even want to think about the three of them trying something. Surely Kent was too straight laced for that to happen. Kent’s long fingers snapped in front of her face, drawing her attention back to him.
“Riss, JP and I have been talking. We knew about each other, but we hoped by now, that you would have picked one or the other.” She diverted her eyes back to her floor as she picked at invisible lint. Kent leaned down, his voice softening as he spoke to her, his fingers rubbing along her cheek. “We’ve got an idea. So wipe that pout off of your face.” Hunching down, he looked into her bright brown eyes. “We’re going away this weekend. All three of us, to my cabin in the Adirondacks.” The shock spread across her fa
ce as she realized what he meant—the three of them, tucked away in a cabin for the weekend. Oh, the possibilities.
“We aren’t saying you need to pick one of us Rissy. We want to see if a weekend together can be...workable.” JP strung his fingers together, webbing them as he spoke. He used his hands often when he spoke as if to amplify everything he said. Raising an eyebrow in confusion, she shifted her gaze back to Kent for clarification.
“What would you say to spending a weekend together? We can see about working a relationship between the three of us. Then you won’t have to choose anyone or feel bad. No one would be left out. JP and I, we get along well. We have you in common. We both love you more than anything, and neither of us is willing to part with you.”
“Yeah. We figured, there has got to be a way we can all get what we want. Kent and I have spent a lot of time together, and to be honest, this idea rocks. It’s the best of all worlds. Plus, he has a kick ass house. I wouldn’t mind crashing there. And it’s like, your Valentine’s Day surprise! This way, we both get to see you.”
Kent shook his head, laughing quietly at JP’s enthusiasm. Carissa watched as he laid a hand on JP’s knee, patting it in a way he did with her constantly. It was true. Kent was successful in all areas of life. The neighborhood he lived in was in a much nicer area than Carissa’s, where the homes cost more than some made in a lifetime. The marble floors were her favorite. She enjoyed sliding around in socks wearing only his shirts. Thoughts of the fun she and JP could have while Kent worked ran through her mind. There was a large backyard. They could have picnics, grow gardens, swim in the massive pool and more. He had more rooms than she could count. Hell, she wasn’t sure she had even seen them all yet.
Fingers snapped in her face, drawing her back to reality where she looked at Kent again.
“You really mean it? I won’t have to lose either of you?” The hope in her voice was almost unbearable, undoing Kent’s strong demeanor, fraying it like an old sweater. He nodded, afraid to speak, his throat closed as he sympathized with her pain.
She was worried about losing them, but he was afraid to lose her. True, he’d spent some time with JP lately, and they’d had fun and realized they each loved her more than life itself.
This just had to work. He didn’t want to think of what would happen if they lost her. Seeing the smile on her face at his suggestion was enough to spring hope in his heart. They would make this work. No matter what. Her eyes sparkled as she moved from the floor to the couch. Wedging between her guys, she wrapped herself in their arms as they discussed the weekend plans.
Chapter Two
The snowflakes fell lightly on the windshield, creating a beautiful winter scene before them. The rented SUV wound its way up the drive carefully through a foot of snow. As they pulled into the clearing, JP wowed, and Carissa sighed. It was like a postcard.
How had she never known Kent owned this? She knew about his beach house in Sanibel, his apartment in NYC, and the house in Buffalo. But this, this was so perfect. If he’d brought her here before, she would have never left. Now she could enjoy it with both her guys.
From the front seat, she twisted, looking back at a stretched out JP. Even with his arms bent behind his head, his long, large frame took up the whole back seat. It was rare to see him bundled up. A knit hat pulled over his head hid the long golden locks she loved so much, but his red cheeked face showed the glee and excitement of the weekend.
He’d strapped his snowboard and hers to the top of the SUV, promising to teach her how. Kent had skis, another pastime and sport she’d yet to learn.
Turning to Kent, she took in the relaxed demeanor she rarely got to see. He wasn’t uptight so much as always stressed about work, wound so tight. That was one of the reasons he was so good at being dominant. His black North Face snow gear was as prim and proper as his suits and clothing.
Giggling a little, Carissa glanced down. Her soft pink jacket and pants matched her light and girly personality perfectly. Her white mittens and puff ball hat kept her warm.
Kent smiled as he stopped the SUV. He had purposely bought the cabin for this weekend. When he and JP discussed the situation with the three of them, and ideas were thrown about, he knew this would be perfect. His realtor did great, finding him the place that suited his needs so well, it was more than he could have anticipated. It was tucked away quietly in the mountains, with no one to bother them. The nearest town was twenty miles away, and not a neighbor in sight.
He was glad for the crash course of survival from the previous owners though. He never thought about bears, and other wildlife that could ruin their weekend. The private ski slope in the backyard was just the icing on the cake.
The cozy cabin was all wood, one bedroom, two bathrooms, a large living room and kitchen. Fireplaces decked out every room. He’d hired someone to stock the fridge, clean the rooms, decorate, plow, and stock them with enough fire wood to last the four days they were staying for Valentine’s Day.
He and JP had also plotted the perfect surprise for Carissa. The older couple Kent had hired, had also iced the champagne in a bucket on the dining table and trailed the floor leading to the bedroom with rose petals.
Kent was a little nervous, as he had never been with a man before, not even a regular threesome, yet here he was jumping head first into a ménage relationship. He couldn’t believe it, but in his heart, he knew it would work. The childlike excitement he got from JP was a compliment to the submissive personality of Carissa. He would enjoy taking care of both of them, spoiling them. He was in a position to give them both better lives than they led now, and that’s what he planned to do.
“This is amazing,” Carissa exclaimed breathlessly as she stepped out of the vehicle. Her nose turned red as the cold air kissed it. Like a kid, she spun in circles, arms wide, staring at the sky as snowflakes fell. Laughing, she fell backwards into the snow, waving her arms and scissoring her legs to make a snow angel.
“Come on, guys,” she insisted. She always found a way to make Kent relax, loosen up and enjoy things he took for granted daily. He shook his head, though smiling, at her suggestion. He would unload the car and let the other two play.
JP was quick to rush to her side, falling down in a large lump that sent the powdery snow flying through the air, covering Carissa. They all laughed as she rolled around, tossing snow in every direction. Kent turned to pull the skis and boards from the top of the truck when something hit him square in the back. Turning, he was assaulted in the face with a snowball and two giggling adults on the ground.
“That’s it, this is war,” he bent to scoop up snow as the three of them ran about the yard, lobbing balls of cold powder at each other. Breathlessly, he wrapped his arms around JP, pulling him down into the snow. The two men looked at each other, both breathing hard.
Without warning, JP leaned down, covering Kent’s lips. He kissed him, breathing fiery passion into him, something he never thought he could have felt. Returning the gesture, he squeezed the man on top of him, suddenly understanding the enjoyment Carissa found in such a big, built body. The muscles he could feel through the thick winter suit were arousing. He could only imagine how they would look.
As they pulled apart, staring at each other, JP smiled. “That was a first for me.”
Kent nodded as Carissa pelted them with snow. Breaking the moment, she came over, piling on top of both men. She poked her head around JP’s neck, looking down at Kent.
“Well aren’t you two just cute.” She smiled at her men. “Let’s go, I’m hungry.” She laughed and wrapped her arms around JP’s neck. He grabbed her legs, carrying her on his back as he headed towards the house.
Kent was filled with so many positive emotions, he thought he would burst. His heart pounded with joy and love.
Forgetting the bags for now, he followed the pair to the porch. He jingled the keys and stepped between them, unlocking the handle. JP held the door, ready to swing it open as Kent swept Carissa off her feet.
“Close your eyes babe,” he whispered. Carrying her over the threshold, he stepped into the warm cabin. The heat from a roaring fire swept by them, chasing off the chilly air. As JP closed the door behind him, Kent set Carissa down.
“Happy Valentine’s Day,” they shouted at the same time. She opened her eyes and looked around the homey interior, spying the beautiful fire, the flower petals littering the floor, leading to a hallway. The tall ceilings were all logs, rustic looking. A black chandelier looked as if it was iron and hung in the middle over a small dining table. A long couch sat in front of the fireplace with thick blankets draped over it.
Looking at her men, tears of joy slipped from her eyes. “You guys are too perfect.”
“Here, let’s get out of these and go see the rest,” JP suggested, tugging at the zipper of his jacket. They stripped off their outerwear, dropping it where they stood. As Carissa jumped about trying to pull off her boots, she fell backwards, laughing at herself. Though her ass now stung, she was too excited to care. A tour of the house meant they may get frisky. Snow littered the floor as it fell from their boots and suits.
After seeing the two of them kiss, she couldn’t wait for more. That was a first for Carissa. She had never watched two men kiss, never thought it could excite her that much, but it did. Her core clenched and still throbbed with excitement. Kent leaned over, snatching an ankle out of her grasp. She pulled her knit hat off, and the static in her hair made it stand up. He tugged the boots from her feet and tossed them over his shoulder, completely out of his controlled, neat-freak character. She could feel the anxiousness vibrating from his whole body.
Offering his hand, JP helped Carissa up from the floor. They looked to Kent who grinned. Taking the lead, he moved toward the hallway, following the rose petals. The silent trio neared the bedroom. Kent swung the door open, revealing a king size bed. The flowers led right to it, but stopped.
A large, thick woolen blanket covered flannel sheets and looked warmer than anything she had ever wrapped herself in. The sheer curtains blocked most of the afternoon sun, but also kept it light inside. Another door was past the dresser, maybe a closet or a bathroom. She didn’t know, but it didn’t matter. The floor was wooden with a large area rug to keep from freezing feet. The dark amber wood contrasted nicely with the browns and whites in the room. Carissa broke free, running to the bed. The headboard was an elaborate carved wooden wall. It reached three feet above the mattress, with intricate swirls and leaves cut from the thick wood. She climbed up to jump on the mattress. Her youthful exuberance rubbed off on the men, and JP quickly joined her.
