“Jack and Maurice can still feel her through their bond, so we know she’s alive. We just have to find her. I’m calling because I was hoping Pepper got that read on her date.”

Both her men looked at her, and she shook her head. “Nothing. I am so sorry, Ty, but by the time I got close enough to read him, I was already searching for the rogues. When I met him again after it was all over, I was completely burned out. All I know is that his name is Gilbert Lynch.” Her mates both reached out to touch her, attempting to soothe away her distress.

“That’s perfectly fine, Pepper. Hell, you saved her and her mate, as well as the hundred or so people in that restaurant and the surrounds. We’ll find her”—Ty’s tone turned deadly—“and she’ll be fine, and I will gut the fucker who thought to take her from us.”

“What do you need from us, Ty?” Tomas asked. “We can be back in Oklahoma by six.”

Ty sighed. “No, I’m sure between us, Jack, and Maurice we can make some inroads. We have the two bear shifters from Greenspoint still in Oklahoma as well. I’ll keep in touch, and if needs be, I will call you in.”

“Anything you need,” Diego promised. They signed off, and Tomas terminated the call.

Pepper leaned into her men, crying softly. “What if her date did have something to do with it? If he did and I could have foreseen this, I will never forgive myself.”

Diego sipped the tears from her face as Tomas pressed tighter against her back. “Cariño, you can’t blame yourself for this. There was nothing that indicated Sophia was in any kind of danger tonight. Not really. Those four bastards had no connection to her, and they sure as hell didn’t know she was the sister of the men who head the shifter council.”

Pepper sniffed, looking up at him. “How do you know that?”

“Because if they did,” Tomas answered instead, “they would have simply taken her hostage or killed her without the risk they took tonight. No, her being taken is something completely separate.”

“Will they find her?” Pepper whispered.

“They will, niña, because Grey River will not stop until they do.”

Thirty minutes later, the three of them were wrapped around each other in their bed. Despite her fatigue, Pepper was finding it difficult to shut her mind off enough to get some sleep.

“What’s running through that gorgeous head of yours, my love?” Diego asked from where he lay along her back, his arm around her waist.

“I guess I’m still wired after everything that happened tonight, not to mention really worried about Sophia.”

She was lying with her head on Tomas’s shoulder, and he had ahold of her hand. He lifted it to press a kiss to her wrist. “We all are. Once we’ve gotten some sleep, we will join the others. We won’t be of any use to anyone if we’re exhausted, and I can feel your fatigue beating at me down our bond.”

Pepper knew that. But it was one thing to say she needed sleep and another thing entirely to have to force her body to do it. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw Sophia’s face, smiling as it had been at the restaurant, then filled with fear as someone or something dark came toward her. Pepper knew fear, and seeing it on that young woman’s face was an abomination.

“Damn it, Pepper,” Diego growled as he moved so that he could move her onto her back. “You need to switch your mind off.”

Tomas leaned over her, his face close to hers. “Lay back, niña. Diego and I are going to love on you for a while to help you relax.”

Pepper’s body reacted to his words and the deep timbre of his tone with heat pooling low in her abdomen. She shivered as Tomas trailed light kisses down her body, lingering at her right breast, making her gasp.

“Grey River will find her, Pepper,” Diego promised as he started to trail kisses after his brother. “Ty always says that the pack are strong alone, but stronger together. There is nothing and no one that can defeat this pack when they come together.”

Pepper felt the knot of tension that had formed within her start to unravel. They were right. The men and women of Grey River were formidable.

She cried out when Tomas closed his mouth over her clit, his tongue flicking over her clit, as Diego settled in at her breasts. Between them, she knew she would not be able to resist the orgasm barreling toward her. Her last thought before her mind shattered with the power of her release was that her journey home had finally ended. Tomas and Diego were her final destination. As long as she had them, then she would always have a home.
