Which boded well for him. He was in for keeps, and she was, too.
It had been quite a busy fortnight.
He grinned as she took another step forward; her sashaying hips just about killed his sanity. To think he’d once worried about slowing down. Now he realized that slowing down meant he could see everything more clearly.
And by everything, he meant Emmy.
“I promise that I’m never too far away.” She finally reached him and perched herself on his lap. Her hands wound around his neck and she pressed her nose against his. Oh, mercy. “There. Does that make you happy?”
“Much happier. And you’re right. It’s a very nice dance.” He smiled as he pressed his mouth to hers. “And when we’re done here, you can teach me how to do it.”
“Gladly,” she murmured, sliding her hands inside his shirt. “But first we need to sort out these clothes. You appear to have far too many on.”
“Your wish is my command,” he said as he finally realized that his biggest adventure was just beginning.
