“Great.” Jeb said.
“How long have you been staying here?” Allison asked.
“About a week. I’m here for the summer and then a semester. How about you?” Jeb asked.
“Just here for the summer.” She replied.
“Cool. So would you want to go sightseeing sometime?” Jeb asked.
“Sure. How about the day after tomorrow?” Allison asked.
“Sounds good. I’ll give you my number.” He said.
Allison took it.
“Okay I’ll see you.” Jeb said.
“Bye.” Allison said.
Allison was chuffed. She’d never been asked out by two guys in one night before even just to go sightseeing. She hoped that she wouldn’t have to decide which one she liked better immediately.
Allison hung out a bit for another hour. Then she decided to head home. Allison went up to her apartment and saw that the rest of her luggage had arrived. She still couldn’t believe she’d forgotten it. Allison put up her stuff. Then took a shower before bed. She could barely sleep though.
At sunrise, Allison sprung up. She’d never seen the sunrise in a foreign country. She figured that she might as well check it out. Allison stepped out into her balcony and watched it.
Afterwards, Allison walked to a coffee shop and got coffee and pastries. Then she went back up to her apartment. Around noon, Darren called. Allison agreed to meet him downstairs. She got dressed and went down.
“Hey.” He said.
“Hey. What would you like to see first?” Allison asked.
“The Eiffel Tower maybe?” Darren asked.
“Okay. How do we get there?” she asked.
“Come with me. It’s by my building.” He said.
“So you’ve peeked at it?” Allison teased.
“A bit.” Darren admitted.
They walked toward the Eiffel Tower.
They reached it about a half an hour later.
“It’s beautiful.” Allison said, looking up.
“Not as beautiful as you.” Darren murmured.
Allison giggled. Darren leaned forward and kissed her. Allison kissed him back. Darren was a good kisser. Allison shivered.
“What was that for?” she asked.
“I just felt like kissing a beautiful girl in a beautiful place.” He said.
Allison smiled. They kissed again.
“What else do you want to see?” she asked.
“How about The Louvre?” Darren asked.
“Sure.” She said.
Chapter Two
They walked around until they reached it. Then they went in. Allison really wasn’t into art but she figured that she should still experience it.
When they were done, Allison asked Darren if he’d like to get some lunch. He agreed. They went to a local café.
“So, what do you plan to do all summer?” Darren asked.
Allison shrugged. “Just enjoy Paris.”
“I need to find a job. Do you want to help?” Darren asked.
“How do you help someone find a job?” Allison asked.
“Just keep them company while they apply.” He said.
“Oh yeah I can do that. Do you want to today?” she asked.
Darren laughed. “That’s not really first date material.”
“When then? I want to make sure I see you again.” Allison said, laughing.
Darren smiled at her. “Of course you will.”
“Good.” Allison responded.
“What happens when we finish dinner?” she asked after a pause.
The waiter came over and took their orders.
“Not sure.” Darren said.
The waiter came back with their drinks. Allison looked around.
“I really like this place.” She commented.
“I do too.” He replied.
“I love French food.” Allison said.
“Me too.” Darren said, nodding.
A bit later, their food arrived.
“Do you want to eat off of each other’s plates?” Allison asked.
Darren stared at her. Allison blushed.
“Sorry.” She said.
“It’s okay. I just haven’t ever been asked that on a first date.” He said.
“I know. I’m just weird.” Allison said.
“You aren’t. It’s okay.” Darren said.
Allison started eating to keep from talking.
“This is really good.” Darren commented.
Allison nodded. They finished eating after a bit.
“Do you want dessert?” he asked.
Allison rubbed her tummy. “I’m full.”
“Okay. Me too. I’ll get the check.” He said, standing.
Allison followed suit. They walked toward the front of the restaurant. The line was really long.
“I had a nice time.” Darren said.
“Me too but I’ll see you Monday right?” Allison asked.
“You will.” He responded.
The line inched forward some.
“I can’t wait to explore more of Paris.” She said.
Allison didn’t really any spark with Darren. She figured that she could try though.
“Me too.” He replied.
They reached the counter after fifteen minutes.
“We can go Dutch.” Allison offered.
“I’ve got it.” Darren said.
Darren paid. They walked outside.
“I’ll walk you back.” He offered.
“Okay.” Allison said.
They started walking toward her building.
“You can come inside for a drink if you want.” She offered.
“No thanks.” He said.
Allison was a little disappointed.
“Okay.” She said.
Darren kissed her when they reached her building entrance.
“Bye.” He said.
“Bye.” Allison responded.
She hoped that the next day with Jeb would be better.
Allison decided to go out and try to salvage that night. She went upstairs and got on a black tank top, sparkly black pants, and a pair of dark blue boots before heading back out.
Allison walked until she found another club to get into. She sauntered up to the bouncer. He let her through. Allison trudged over to the bar and ordered a drink. She looked around. Her eyes met the bright green eyes of a gothic looking guy.
Allison flashed a smile. He approached her.
“Hi I’m Zack.” He said.
“I’m Ally. It’s nice to meet you.” She said.
“You too. Do you want a shot?” Zack asked.
“Yes.” Allison replied.
He ordered them a double shot each. They downed them.
“I don’t think I’ve seen you around here before.” Zack said.
“I haven’t been around here before.” She said.
Zack grinned. “Where do you come from?”
“Oh the US.” Allison replied.
“Nice. Me too but I’ve lived here for three years.” Zack said.
“I’m just here temporarily.” Allison said.
“Nice. Care to take another shot?” he asked.
The bartender set them up with another double. They each downed them. Allison started to feel a little wobbly.
“Has anyone ever told you that you’re the prettiest girl in this room?” Zack asked.
Allison smirked. “Not tonight.”
“I want to tell you then.” He said.
Allison grinned. Zack pulled her into a kiss. She kissed him back. Allison felt a little bit bad for kissing two guys in one day but she figured that she shouldn’t. I am on vacation she reminded herself. Zack was a better kisser than Darren too.
“Would you like to get out of here?” Zack asked.
“Not really.” Allison said.
“How come?” he asked.
“I’d rather sit here.” She replied coldly.
“Oooh okay. That’s fine sweetie.” Zack said.
Allison watch
ed him for a second.
“Would you like to take another shot?” he asked.
“Sure.” She said.
The bartender got them another double. Allison took this one slower.
“So would you like to walk around sometime and see the sights?” Zack asked.
“I guess so. Maybe Tuesday.” Allison suggested.
“That sounds perfect.” Zack murmured.
“Good.” She said.
“I’ll give you my number.” He said.
Allison took it.
“I’ll see you then.” Zack said.
Allison nodded. She knew then that she was too drunk to go home. She called a cab and met it out front. Allison went back to her apartment to sleep it off.
She met Jeb outside of her apartment building the next morning.
“What would you like to see?” he asked.
Allison shrugged.
“I think we should check out a few museums.” He suggested.
“Not a bad idea.” She said.
“Which ones?” Jeb asked.
“How about the one that’s like a library?” Allison suggested.
Jeb nodded. They started to walk toward that one.
“So what do you do for fun?” Jeb asked.
“Hang out and party mostly. You?” she asked.
“Read, write, talk on the phone, hang out, sleep.” Jeb said, laughing.
“What do you write?” Allison asked, genuinely interested.
“Historical romance and fantasy. I’ll let you read something sometime.” He said.
“Great. What do you read?” she asked.
“Pretty much the same thing.” Jeb replied.
“Nice” Allison said.
“Yupp.” He replied.
They reached their destination and went in. They came out three hours later. Allison had never felt so excited about learning before.
“Would you like to grab lunch?” Allison asked.
“Of course. I figured we could stop a few more places first though.” Jeb said.
“We can do that.” Allison said, cheerfully.
They went in and out of bookstores before they settled down in a café.
“One thing I always heard is that I’ll have to acquire a taste for black coffee if I live here.” Allison said, laughing.
“Right? Me too.” Jeb said.
“I could see myself living here.” She said, dreamily.
Jeb nodded. “I like it too.”
“I kind of want to go to a water park or something.” Allison said.
“I’ll find one and we can go. Are you free tomorrow?” Jeb asked.
“Nope. I’m not free until Wednesday.” Allison said, regretfully.
“I’m not free until the weekend. Do you want to go then?” he asked.
“Sounds good.” She responded.
“Awesome. I was so afraid that I’d meet people who only wanted to sit in cafes.” Jeb said, smiling.
“Yeah that wouldn’t be me.” She said, smiling back.
“I can see that. I hate just sitting around. I have to be doing something even if it’s just reading.” He said.
“I know what you mean.” Allison said.
She was really into this guy. Allison was seriously considering calling off her plans with Darren and Zack. She didn’t really like either of them. You’re here to have fun. There’s no way you’re flaking out she reminded herself. I’ll just hang out with all three of them for a while then decide whether or not to continue Allison thought.
“I really like cafes for food though.” Jeb said, grinning.
Allison grinned back. “Me too.”
They ate for a while. After they ate, Jeb asked if she wanted dessert.
“I kind of do.” She admitted.
“I was hoping you’d say that.” Jeb said.
They ordered dessert.
Afterwards, Jeb stood up. “Would you like me to walk you home?”
Allison nodded. They walked back to her place.
“Do you want to come inside?” she asked.
“Sure.” He said, his eyes lighting up.
Allison led him up to her apartment.
“Is this all your’s? It’s really nice.” Jeb commented, incredulously.
She nodded. Jeb sat on the edge of the bed. Allison sat beside of him and started to kiss him. He kissed her back.
“Would you like a drink?” she asked between kisses.
Jeb nodded. Allison paused long enough to order two bottles of wine. Then went back to kissing Jeb. Jeb’s hands fumbled around underneath her shirt. Allison started kissing his ear. Jeb’s hands worked more steadily beneath her shirt, cupping her breasts above her bra. Allison moaned into his ear. Jeb slid his hands into her bra and squeezed her boobs gently. Allison’s mouth moved to his neck and bit down. Jeb wiggled a bit. Allison and Jeb’s mouth met urgently. He pushed her back on the bed and climbed on top of her. She pushed him away.
“Did I do something wrong?” Jeb asked.
“No you didn’t.” Allison said.
“Then what’s wrong?” he asked.
He looked genuinely concerned.
“We’re just moving too fast.” Allison admitted.
“Okay. Let’s just have a drink and chill out then.” Jeb said pleasantly.
“Are you mad?” she asked.
“No. You have the right to say no.” Jeb said.
Allison cuddled against him. He slid his arm around her.
Room service came with their drinks. Allison popped open a bottle and poured some in a glass before handing it to Jeb. Then she poured open a glass for herself. They started drinking.
“I really like this kind of wine.” Jeb said.
“I like it too. I’m more of a whiskey girl though.” Allison said.
“Me too. I like all kinds of alcohol though.” Jeb said.
“Me too.” Allison said, nodding.
“We should make some mixed drinks sometime. Maybe after the water park?” Jeb suggested.
“Possibly.” Allison said.
After a while of drinking, Jeb got up.
“I have plans tomorrow. I hate to run but they’re early.” He said.
“I understand. I had a nice time.” She said.
“So did I. Thanks.” Jeb said.
They hugged. He left. Allison finished off a bottle of wine before bed. Allison was beyond thankful that the apartment building was so classy it had a doorman and room service from nine a.m. until nine p.m.
The next day, Allison woke up early and went down to meet Darren. She was sort of excited to see what kind of job he’d get. Allison and Darren walked down to a set of a few cafes. Darren went in and got applications for each. He sat on the sidewalk to fill them out.
“Do you really want to spend the summer working in a café?” Allison asked.
“I need the money.” He replied tensely.
Allison winced. She hadn’t meant to be rude.
Darren finished the applications. Then they walked to a shopping center and Darren went in and out of shops. Allison really liked the look of the clothes in the windows.
“Do you think that I can shop around a bit when you’re done?” Allison asked.
“I kind of need to apply all day.” Darren said.
“Oh okay.” She said, disappointed.
They moved to a series of restaurants where Darren applied at each.
“I think I’m done.” He announced.
“Now can I shop a bit?” Allison asked.
Darren sighed. “Sure, why not?”
Allison hated herself for asking like a child but she wanted Darren to have a good time too. She led him into a big clothing store.
“This does look nice. Do you want to pick out a dress?” he asked.
Allison wrinkled her nose. “I don’t really wear dresses.”
“At least look.” He coaxed.
Allison shrugged. There was really no harm in that.
They headed over to the dresses. All
ison looked at a spaghetti strapped dark blue one with a long skirt. Darren showed her a lime green one with spaghetti straps and a really short skirt.
“They’re both nice.” Allison said.
“I like the green one better.” Darren said.
He held up a short red one with a halter top.
“I don’t think it’s hot enough for summer dresses yet.” Allison said.
“It’s summer. I’ll buy you one.” He offered.
Allison beamed. That was really nice of him.
“I guess I’ll take the green one then.” She said.
“Great.” Darren said.
He strolled up to the front of the store and paid for it. Allison followed slowly behind.
“Do you want to look around anymore?” he asked.
“I will in a different store.” She said.
They went into the next store. Allison started looking at t-shirts.
“I really need some souvenirs from back home.” She said.
“I think I saw a store like that a little way back. Do you want to go?” Darren asked.
“Maybe in a little bit.” Allison said.
She leafed through the piles of t-shirts and found a few she liked. She took them to the front of the store. Darren followed behind her. Allison paid. They left.
“So what now?” Allison asked.
“Not sure. I was thinking about heading home.” Darren said.
“Okay. Do you want to grab dinner first?” Allison asked.
Darren shook his head. “Would you like to have dinner Wednesday? Maybe you can wear that dress.”
Allison smiled. “Absolutely.”
Darren walked Allison back to her place.
“I guess I’ll see you in a couple of days.” She said, hugging him.
Darren kissed her. “Bye.”
“See you.” Allison said.
She went up to her apartment. Allison thought it was really nice that he’d bought her something but she still wasn’t feeling the kind of connection she felt with Jeb. Maybe after Wednesday it was time to cut him loose. Allison felt like if she did that she should pay him back for the dress though. That won’t be too bad she assured herself. Allison got dinner before going to bed.
The next day, Allison met Zack outside.
“Hey beautiful. What would you like to see?” he greeted her.
“I’m not sure. How about you?” Allison asked.
“The Eiffel Tower.” Zack said.
Allison tried not to groan. “Okay.”
They walked to the Eiffel Tower.
“I don’t usually like things like this. I figured I should experience it though.” Zack said.
