“How’s that for an after-lunch snack?” His fingers circled her clit again causing her to shake as he pulled out.
“Did you know I was here?” She went to get her clothes.
“Of course, I did.” He smiled, grabbing his clothes off the couch. “If I didn’t I would have let Greyson walk in with me.”
“I was trying to surprise you,” she claimed pulling her pants on. By the time she pulled her shirt over her head he was already dressed.
“I didn’t know you were coming. Just that you were here, so it was a good surprise. What are you doing the rest of the day?”
“Testing a theory.” She smiled up at him as he pulled her to him.
“What kind of theory? Anything I can help with?” He kissed her neck.
“You already have,” she admitted. “I noticed earlier that my urges weren’t as frequent.”
“And that’s because of me?” Leaning back, he looked at her.
“I think so. Now to see if I can make it until tonight without handling things on my own.”
“You should spend the rest of the day with me.”
“Don’t you have to work?”
“Didn’t you hear Greyson? I don’t have anything booked. My meeting ran smoothly, so there’s no reason I can’t take the rest of the day. If they need me, they’ll call.”
“Sounds good to me then. My car is near the elevator, wanna sneak out the back?”
“Come on.” He winked and turned towards the elevator.

“Is Braelynn coming to the charity ball tonight?” Greyson asked.
“Why wouldn’t she? We’ve been together every night for the last three weeks.”
“You haven’t asked her, have you?” Greyson stared at him in disbelief. “What the fuck, Ronan? Did you even mention it to her?”
“I’ve mentioned it. Naturally she’ll go with me.”
“Have I taught you nothing? Women like to be prepared. You can’t just spring an event like this on her. ‘Oh, by the way, you should wear something fancy that you just happen to have in your closet.’ Bet she freaks.”
“Oh, it won’t be that bad.” Ronan shook his head.
“Hold that thought.” Greyson grabbed the phone off Ronan’s desk. “Leann come to Ronan’s office for a minute.”
“What are you doing?”
“Proving a point.” Greyson turned towards the door as their secretary walked in.
“Yes?” Leann asked looking from Ronan to Greyson.
“Leann, tell us something. Say a guy was to ask you to a big event such as the charity ball tonight. How far in advance would you want to know about it?”
“The charity ball? I’d need to get my nails done. I can’t style my own hair so I’d need an appointment for that. Plus find the perfect dress which is practically a full day of shopping all on its own. Personally, I’d need a week’s notice. I’d say minimum of three days.”
“Damn.” Ronan ran his hand through his hair. “I got it.” He snapped his fingers. “I need a list of all the places you’d go to prepare.”
“She’s a lucky woman. Be back in a few.” Leann bounced out the door on a mission.
“Call her, now,” Greyson insisted.
“I have a few arrangements to make first.”
“I’m warning you, Ronan. Don’t wait around on this.”
“I’m not worried.”
When Leann came back in his office, she had a legal pad with places, addresses, and phone numbers. A couple of them had stars beside them and one was underlined and circled.
“A spa? The ball is tonight.” He reminded her.
“Trust me, look at the package deals. Cherise’s Spa is like a one stop shop for makeovers.”
“Braelynn doesn’t need a makeover. She’s perfect the way she is.”
“I’m not suggesting she needs a makeover. You should treat your lady to a massage with a mani/pedi. Women love that shit. Let her take a friend,” Leann suggested.
“Okay, she’ll have a spa day.”
“Would you like me to set up an appointment?” Leann asked
“No, I’ll make the arrangements,” Ronan declared.
“I’ll leave you to it then. If you need anything, you know where I’ll be.” She turned to leave.
Greyson and Leann left his office, so he could make his calls. He had to wait until the spa opened, but he got an appointment for an hour later. Knowing Braelynn was already up, he dialed her number and hoped it wouldn’t be as bad as Greyson made it out to be.
“Hello?” Braelynn answered on the second ring.
“Hey beautiful.” He loved hearing her voice.
“I wasn’t expecting you to call this morning.”
“Well, I wasn’t but it came to my attention I never asked you an important question.”
“A marriage proposal by phone? How romantic.” She laughed.
“Marriage?” His eyes widened at the thought. Who said anything about marriage? Wasn’t that his whole reason behind calling Gerri, to find his match?
“It was a joke, Ronan,” she explained. “What’s your question?”
“I realized I never asked you to go to the charity ball with me tonight. Would you do me the honor of going with me?”
“That’s tonight?” He could feel her anxiety building. “I… well, of course I will. I need to do some shopping. I won’t be able to make our lunch date.”
“That’s another reason why I called. I made reservations for you at Cherise’s Spa in an hour. You can even take a friend with you.”
“Cherise’s Spa? How did you get a reservation that quick? They’re always booked solid for weeks.”
“Apparently, my secretary is a regular there, so I was able to get you squeezed in.”
“You have something I’d like to squeeze in,” she teased.
“I’d be happy to oblige.” Remembering the way she milked him the night before, his pants became a little too tight. He had to adjust his cock in a more comfortable position. “Don’t go falling in love with the masseuse’s hands.”
“Sorry, my heart belongs to another.”
“That’s good to know.” That was great to know, actually. Maybe he had a chance
“Unfortunately, I can’t go to the spa. I have to find a dress. Annette may have something, but I’d have to get it altered. I doubt I can get that done in a few hours.”
“Go to the spa, take Annette with you,” he suggested. “I’ll take care of your dress.”
“I don’t know. A dress on the hanger doesn’t always fit in all the right places.”
“Darling, I know every inch of your body. Trust me with this. Go and have a relaxing time. Check in at the front desk and they’ll take care of you.”
“No sequins, and no frilly lace. Oh, and I don’t wear yellow.”
“No yellow, got it,” he agreed. “I’ll see you at seven. Now head over to the spa and relax.”
“Thanks for this. See you tonight.” Braelynn hung up the phone.
Through his bond he could feel her excitement. Knowing he caused it thrilled him. All that was left was to find a dress fit for her beauty. Something black and sexy. He knew just where to go. One of Greyson’s girlfriends has a boutique. Leaving his office, Ronan stopped by Greyson’s office to have him give Vivian a heads up that he was on his way. Tonight, would be perfect for Braelynn.

“He should send you to a spa more often.” Annette stretched as they walked down the hall heading to their apartments. “My back feels amazing.”
“You love it now; just wait until your body sets in in the morning. You’ll be aching.”
“But it hurt so good.” Annette pouted. “Want me to come over in case you need help with your dress?”
“No, I should be alright. Ronan will be here shortly.”
“You look beautiful. Call me if you need anything. Send me a pic of the dress he picked out. Good luck,” Annette said as she entered her apartment.
Braelynn checked the clock as she walked in her apartment. Shit, it wouldn’t be long before Ronan arrived, and she still didn’t have a dress. She was about to call Ronan when there was a knock on the door.
“No dress yet, Annette,” she called out as she answered the door. Surprisingly, it wasn’t Annette; instead it was a delivery man with three boxes.
“Sign please.” He handed her a clipboard.
“Thanks.” Signing, she gave him the clipboard back, and she took the boxes. Turning to go inside she kicked the door shut. “Moment of truth. Let’s see what you got, Ronan.”
Unable to wait until she got to her bedroom, she placed the boxes on the coffee table. Setting the smaller boxes to the side, she took a deep breath before opening the box with her dress. Unfolding each layer of tissue paper sent butterflies fluttering in her stomach. The last layer revealed a black spaghetti strap dress made of satin. Hooking the straps with her pinky fingers, she lifted the dress from the box.
“Damn, he did good.” She admired her dress.
Elegant and sexy yet simple enough to not draw attention to herself. But would it fit? Not even bothering to go in her room, Braelynn stripped down. With great care, she slipped the dress over her head making sure the dress didn’t touch her make-up. With a little wiggle, the satin slipped down her body stopping a few inches from the floor.
Cutting away the tape on one of the smaller boxes with her keys, she peered inside. Ronan went all out. Inside was a flat black velvet box. The only thing she knew came in these type of boxes, were jewelry. Lifting the top, she was stunned. A diamond accent vertical bar pendant necklace with matching earrings were perfectly placed.
“So beautiful,” she commented as she took out the earrings.
Taking out her own earrings, she replaced them with the ones Ronan bought. Not being good with clasps on necklaces, she decided to get the shoes out first. Of course, the heels matched her dress. Black open toe heels with a vertical diamond encrusted bar running from the ankle strap to the toe strap. Slipping them on, she adjusted the strap. Grabbing the necklace from its box, she went to the bathroom to put it on. After two failed attempts at the clasp, the doorbell rang.
“Is it seven, already?” she asked herself coming out of the bathroom. Looking at the clock on her nightstand it read 6:57. With the necklace in hand, she went to the door. Taking a deep breath, she opened the door for Ronan.
“Wow, you look amazing,” he complimented, stepping into her apartment.
“Thank you, you look pretty sharp yourself.”
“Did you not like the necklace?” He nodded towards the necklace still in her hand.
“I was having trouble with the clasp.”
“Here, let me.” Ronan took the necklace from her hand, and she turned around.
Placing the necklace around her neck, he had no problem with the small clasp. He leaned down and kissed her neck. Tilting her head back, she rested it on his shoulder while he kissed the side of her neck.
“Mmm,” she let her pleasure known. “What time did you say this thing started?”
“In an hour,” he whispered in her ear.
“That’s not a lot of time,” she said.
“It’s long enough for what I have planned.” He nibbled her earlobe.
“And what’s that?” She smiled, hoping he planned to pump for full before they had to leave her apartment.
“I’ll show you.” He turned her around and pressed his lips against hers.
Closing her eyes, she melted into him as he walked them into her living room where the boxes still laid scattered across the table. A sudden chill ran up her back. Opening her eyes, she realized he had removed her dress. Glancing around the room she spotted her dress draped over the back of her recliner.
“What about your tux?”
“It stays on.” He smiled as he moved her to sit on the couch.
“That’s not fair,” She pouted.
“Oh, but it is.” He pulled off his tux jacket, placing it across the arm of the couch. “You see tonight I want you to spend the night with me. Every time I ask you turn me down. I want you to wake up in my arms in the morning.”
“Ronan, we’ve talked about this. I’d rather come back to my own bed.”
“You’ll change your mind. Until then, my tongue will just have to do.” With a half-hearted sigh, he smiled.
“You’re not giving me any cock until I agree to stay the night with you?” She couldn’t believe what he’s saying. “So, what? You’re just going to tease the fuck out of me?”
“You’ll be coming for me within minutes,” he assured her, getting down on his knees in between her legs.
“Don’t be surprised if I pull you into a supply closet later.” She laughed for only a second before his tongue met her clit then her breath hitched at the sensitivity.
Her thighs clenched around his head as his tongue flicked across her swollen nub. When he ran his hand from her foot up her thigh, she was glad for the waxing this morning. Reaching under her butt, he lifted her to him. He teased her with his tongue until her clit throbbed. He set her back down and massaged her inner thighs as his hands came closer to her core. When his finger dipped inside she moaned. Used to his massive cock, she only craved more. Sliding in a second finger, he stretched her. With each thrust of his fingers he sucked her clit into his mouth. His tongue didn’t stop working her as she called out. Desire flooded her as her release came bursting forth. Her hands gripped his hair and her legs tightened around his head. As she laid there panting, he withdrew his fingers, licking her juices off.
“Told you I’d have you coming within minutes.” He smiled. “That should hold you over for a few hours.”
“You’re a tease.” She got up from the couch.
“And you love it.”
Smiling, she walked to her bathroom to clean up and check her hair. Thankfully her hair was still in place. Coming out of the bathroom her heels caught on the bathroom mat and she almost went down on her knees, but Ronan was there to catch her near fall.
“Easy there.” He held her elbow until she righted herself. “Still weak in the knees?”
“I forgot I still had these heels on.”
“You look great in nothing but heels and jewelry.”
“Then I’ll keep them on later. Right now, I need to put my dress back on.”
“That won’t take long.” He smiled and pulled her in for a kiss. She could get lost in his kisses. “See? Not long at all.”
Looking down at her body, her dress was back on.
“How the hell do you do that without me knowing?”
“It’s all in the distraction.” He kissed her again. “You ready to go?”
“As ready as I’ll ever be.” Putting her lipstick in her black clutch along with her wallet and phone, she left her apartment for the charity ball.
Twelve
The charity ball was better than Braelynn imagined. Crystal chandeliers hung from the ballroom ceiling. Large round tables were spread out around a dance floor with a stage in the front. A musical ensemble played at the back of the stage. She’d never seen so many gorgeous people in one room before. Ronan introduced her to numerous people including Sadie Jones, one of her favorite photographers, then took her for a few turns around the dance floor. Ronan would be presenting a check to the charity head, then they’ll be able to get out of there. Everything was like a fairytale. Walking off the dance floor, she noticed Ronan’s focus was elsewhere. Trying to see what, she followed his gaze. All she noticed was Greyson looking their way.
“What is it?” she asked Ronan.
“Nothing, will you excuse me?”
“Sure, where are you going?”
“I’ll be right back.” Squeezing her hand, he gave her a kiss on the cheek. She watched as Ronan walked out of the ballroom.
“Sure, I’ll just…” Looking around she spotted the buffet. “Have a bite to eat.”
Heading towards the buffet behind the tables, a waiter walked up to
her and offered her some champagne. Accepting a flute, she continued to the buffet for a small plate of fruit. Taking a seat not too far from the buffet, she picked at the fresh fruit. She wasn’t hungry, just wanting to pass time until Ronan came back. While eating, she observed others at their finest. Campaigners were working the patrons for a charity donation. Beautiful women were smiling and flirting, including the blonde that tried flirting with Ronan right in front of her. Ronan kindly shooed her off before Braelynn could say a word.
Looking around for Ronan, Braelynn noticed a man standing against the wall not twenty feet from her. She wasn’t positive, but he looked like the same man outside of the restaurant where she ate with Annette. Not trying to draw attention to herself, she looked away. Considering this event was an invitation only, he must belong here. Last time she saw him, he looked rough around the edges. Now he was clean shaven with his hair slicked back. Imagining shaggy hair and a three-day beard, she knew he was the same man. Glancing back over her shoulder, she caught him staring at her. When he noticed, he smiled. Something about the way he smiled gave her an uneasy feeling.
“Time to find Ronan,” she declared to herself as she got up from the table.
Walking in the same direction Ronan left, she went on the hunt. He couldn’t have gone too far. People passed her heading out on the dance floor. Looking back, she didn’t see the man against the wall anymore. Walking out into the main hall, she thought she heard Ronan’s voice coming from the right. So that was the direction she turned. Following the hall, his voice became louder. They must be right around the corner. For a moment, she thought about hanging back until she heard her name. Why was her name mentioned in a heated discussion?
“You can’t just keep fucking her and think that’s it. You have to make that commitment in order for it to work.”
“Don’t rush me, Greyson,” Ronan said. “I’m not the one that wants to settle down, but if it’s the only way to keep my wings then fine.” Braelynn couldn’t take any more and came out from around the corner.
“This was all so you could keep your wings?” Ronan turned around when she spoke. Greyson took a step back. She couldn’t believe this was all a game for Ronan. He played her just to keep his precious wings? “You used me,” she spat out angrily.
