She’s staring into space, still colorless and spooked.

  Shit.

“Darlin’?” I say gently, feeling like half an asshole. Not entirely a whole asshole because this whole fucking thing wasn’t my fault, but half an asshole because she’s clearly fucked up by the accident and I’m too worried about my get rich quick scam.

“Ally,” I coax, laying a hand on her knee. She flinches instantly and backs herself up against the door. “I’m sorry,” I say quickly.

  “That man,” she mutters.

  “What about him?”

“That’s the man who took me.”

  Yankovich.

  Fuck me.

  Acknowledgements

First and foremost, I want to credit my two children who sometimes sacrifice their mommy to the book world. It’s not easy for them to understand why mommy is always writing or why she has the crazy hair and sixteen coffees in front of her but, one day I hope they will look back and realize I was driven. They were my drive—my purpose. If I set an example for them then they would always believe in their capabilities to make their own dreams come true. Being a mother, this book was especially difficult for me to write and made me wish to keep my children in a bubble—a place where only beauty exists. But then I’d be robbing them of their dreams and experiences. Dream big, boys. Nothing is unattainable as long as you have faith in yourself.

Jennifer, twelve books and at least that many melt downs. Thank you for the constant flow of support and talking me off the ledge every time I’m ready to throw in the towel. Of course, thank you for everything you do on a daily basis but especially for the amazing cover. It takes talent to bring a photograph to life and girl, you’ve got it.

Trish Bacher, my fabulous editor who works around my own brand of chaos. Thank you so much for your patience and hard work, polishing my stories. More importantly thank you for being a friend. I can’t wait to squeeze you in Vegas.

Thank you to Wander Aguiar, Andrey Bahia & Jenny Flores for the amazing cover photo. I’m proud to be working with such a great team.

Lisa Vitous, thank you for all your hard work promoting my books. I’m so grateful for your friendship and the organization you bring to my chaos.

Amber, April, Tracy, Johnnie, Ninfa and all my loyal temptresses I wish I could hug each and every one of you and thank you in person for everything you do for me. From promos to motivating me when my deadline is beating me down. You are all fabulous and I’ll never be able to express how truly grateful I am to have you in my corner. Words would never cut it.

To the Sisterhood Hangout and all my sisters, I am very fortunate to be a part of such a great group of authors. I am also grateful for all you sisters who come out every Wednesday and let me be wacky with you.

The beautiful gem that drives the success of indie and traditionally published authors are bloggers. You wonderful people are the reason our books find the hands of readers. You are the people who feed our palms and without you this community would be in ruins. The industry itself should be dedicated to each and every one of you. Thank you for all your efforts in pushing the Tempted Series into the community.

I’ve promoted seven books with help of Indie Sage LLC and have met so many new bloggers and readers because they were willing to take me on when others shut the door in my face. Mia, I love working with you and look forward to all the future books we will share with the community.

Ena, with Enticing Journey—thank you for helping push my work and creating newfound relationships between me and the Indie community.

If I missed anyone—I’m sure I have, I apologize and know that doesn’t mean I have forgotten your place in my life or that I’m any less grateful for what you’re role is.

To my readers, new and old…thank you for choosing my words. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
