- She may not have won DANCING WITH THE STARS, but Emmy winner Susan Lucci still has her groove on! La Lucci stars in Gloria Estefan's inspired and infectious new single, "Hotel Nacional," and is a lyric in the song. "Needless to say, I am so flattered!" Lucci exclaimed on her Facebook page, adding, "[It's] not to be missed. It is amazing!"
THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, CBS/CTV - Hope for Liam?
- Looks like DIGEST paid attention to B&B's recent ratings rise (which broke records) and chose to capitalize on the show's buzz by putting the next Ridge and Brooke, Liam and Hope, on its cover! As Liam and Hope walk down the aisle, Ridge interrupts the wedding by announcing that Liam's still married to Steffy! Turns out Steffy refuses to sign the annulment papers because she wants a divorce instead. The result? Look for Hope and Steffy to engage in a very messy chocolate-fueled catfight. I knew B&B would do something for Black History Month!
- In story 411, Rick thwarts Ridge's plan to oust Eric off of Forrester's Design Team. As the series approaches its 25th anniversary, expect more Forrester-related drama.
- Happy Black History Month: B&B's casting a recurring, possible black role! Candace 19-24 (mixed race) Sounds like a Beverly recast!
- Goodbye, Marones; Hello, Spencers! TV producer and B&B alumna Joanna Johnson will be reprising her role as Karen Spencer in March to help introduc
e Caroline Spencer. Huh? Yep, Karen has a daughter - and she named it after her dead twin, Ridge's true love, Caroline. The whippersnapper is a twentysomething design student who is hoping to land a job at Forrester Creations. Karen brings her to L.A. for the interview. She will be played by relative newbie Linsey Godfrey. As for who sired Caroline, B&B assures TV GUIDE it is not Ridge. Whew. Look for Karen and Caroline to hit the air March 27 - just four days after B&B celebrates its 25th anniversary. And yes, look for Stephanie to take Caroline under her wing. Naming a new legacy character after the show's most popular romantic heroine ever is a nice offering to fans as the show celebrates a quarter of a century on the air.
DAYS OF OUR LIVES, NBC/GLOBAL - Bjorlin Turns Down DAYS!
- You read it first in UNCENSORED over a month ago! Turns out SOAP OPERA DIGEST was too quick to celebrate the impending return of Nadia Bjorlin. As UNCENSORED reported, Nadia took issue with a severe pay cut, contract status, and returning to DAYS during pilot season. Insiders reveal to UNCENSORED that Chloe is already in scripts so don't be surprised if the character is recast (good luck with that!). Bjorlin was expected to report to work sometime next week.
However, UNCENSORED hears Chloe's comeback story was pretty darn great. It's a shame, yes, but maybe Bjorlin's decision to value herself instead of a show which not only ruined her character but then also later fired her hot ass will get Salem to pony up some money. Who thinks DAYS will recast, especially since they've written the storyline? I'm raising my hand, but insiders say it's unlikely. Chloe was supposed to be involved in the Madison-Brady storyline, and with Ian Buchanan in the mix, they might not need Chloe on until they convince Nadia otherwise.
- In this week's DIGEST, Molly Burnett and Casey Deidrick open about rekindling their real-life romance. When I last spoke to Burnett, she wanted to keep her private life private since she was too open about her relationship with her co-star in the past, but I guess, they're game to spill now since their characters are hooking up on the show.
- Is DAYS in trouble? Sounds like it, according to my moles. Looks like the show is thinking about cutting a handful of actors.
- In story 411, Stefano breaks down in tears when he opens Alice's secret letter. My guess? E.J. is Hope and John's son. Meanwhile, the worst dressed soap character, Kate is shocked to run into Ian Buchanan's Ian, whom she shared a very emotional and hot relationship with back in the day. But little does she know that he's married to Mad Madison now!
