Children of Eber (The Generations Book 4)

by Caryl McAdoo

Teenager Mary has wedded for love. Caleb married for convenience--that being the 100 gold coins Mary carried in her saddlebag. Then it's `Westward Ho' and what a surprise Caleb has planned in California for his unsuspecting new bride. But Mary comes from stout pioneer blood.

Chowderheads, scalawags, bamboozlers, and greed-sters abound; some as profiteering men, trollops, and street urchins. It's the era of California Gold fast-living and survival that Caryl McAdoo presents so tantalizingly in her period adventure story. Caryl knows how to write heart warmth out of heartbreak. I loved the first 3 in this series, but #4 so gripped me I forgot to eat.

--Harold ‘Doc’ Wolfe, Top fifty Amazon reviewer

This reader couldn't put the book down till I read the last page, and then I wanted it to continue. Sometimes after reading some many volumes in a series that has all the same characters the series gets tiresome. I haven't found that in this series and there isn't an overbearance of repeating the story, like in others.

A story of family and trust and love and forgiveness and faith, [it] isn't a story filled with complete happiness, but is true to life. This book has alcohol abuse as well as affairs but written in clean language [and] shows that when you really let God lead you, the best happens. I am eagerly awaiting the next book. I highly recommend this series to anyone.

  …for Daughters of the Heart

I loved this story. [It’s] filled with engaging characters, descriptive settings, and a flowing story line. I didn't want the story to end. What do you do when your past catches up to you and your future is closer than you want? Step into Henry's shoes and see how he handles his past and the changing future

  ...for The Preacher’s Faith

Great story! Hope there’s a sequel, and I’d love to see the artful dodger as a part of it. Maybe a reunion? And he could find his mother. Just love curling up in an afghan with a cup of cappuccino and reading Caryl’s books! Keep on writing!

  --Lenda Selph, Texas reader

This was my first book to read by Caryl McAdoo and I absolutely loved it. I will be reading more. I love the way she prays that her story gives God Glory and dedicates The Preacher’s Faith to Him and His Kingdom…a good clean book to read. I was drawn into this story right from the start. I loved this book and can’t wait for book two.

  ...for Sing a New Song

A delightful breath of Christian air. Caryl eloquently brings [readers] nearer to God. Characters are loveable and humorous. The tale demonstrates Christian virtues, [and] illuminates the Gospel beautifully. Sermons and the lyrics of [new] songs fill hearts with newfound worship. Truly inspiring, fiction treasure.

  …for One and Done

Faster than a major league outfielder pulling down a popup fly ball, Caryl McAdoo’s romance is guaranteed to snag baseball lovers and romance readers alike. This Christian story is written with wit, verve and Caryl McAdoo’s usual flare for dialect and spicy dialogue. Be warned. Those readers searching for a saccharine, man-meets-woman story will soon discover this is no sanitized romantic fairy tale. From the beginning, the reader will identify with real people who live clearly in the mind, so much so, that a person can almost smell locker room sweat or the mouthwatering scent of spicy Mexican food. Identification with the hero and heroine is nearly immediate. With so much to rave about, I cannot begin to cover all the delightful surprises, so the reader simply must buy “One and Done” to see for themselves.

  Contemporary Apple Orchard Romance

  …for Lady Luck’s a Loser

A very unique, witty plot. I couldn't put it down. I love that my favorite characters are still very much active at the end of the book only their relationships have changed. What a way for Dub to fulfill his promises to his deceased wife. Love, trust, forgiveness, nd many emotions make for a well written book.
