“Will you marry me? In a few months? Whenever you’re ready?”
“Yes,” she said, feeling her heart lift and every cell in her body begin to sing. “Oh, yes, Dom, I want that a whole lot.”
“Good.” He lifted her and her legs immediately wrapped around his hips, even though he had a good grip on her. “Do you mind sharing my bed?”
“I love you,” she murmured.
“I love you, too. Always.”
He paused at the top of the stairs until she looked up at him again. “Just tell me you’re sure.”
“I’m sure. All I want now is you. I finished my final mission.”
And so had Mary, he thought as he carried her into his bedroom.
There was no doubt in his mind.
