  Kat opened her mouth—

“Don’t answer that,” Hannah whisper-hissed. “I’m done talking about this.” She snatched her book from the floor and slammed it open on her lap, staring deliberately at the pages.

“Fine. I’ll drop it.” Kat held up one hand in a show of surrender and patted sleeping Bennett on the back. "Just thought you’d want to know.”

“I can’t believe I didn’t see it sooner,” Claire murmured to Ethan. She leaned back and closed her eyes.

“Are you ticked your mom maneuvered us together?” Ethan whispered in her ear.

“How could I be upset with her?” She rolled her head back and forth on the soft leather, a smile tugging at her lips. “I’m more content, happy, and in love than I’ve ever been. Thanks to you.” She opened her eyes to look at him on the last word.

His eyes lit with mischief. “I’ve got an idea on how to make you even more content, happy, and in love with me.” He shifted his gaze to the bathroom door and then back to her, one eyebrow raised.

Unfortunately for Ethan, his twitching lips and barely suppressed laughter ruined any serious attempt at seduction.

“Shush.” Claire swatted his hard thigh. “I’ve had to go to the bathroom for the past hour, but I knew you’d tease me if I even mentioned that room.”

“Can’t help it.” He raised their joined hands and brushed an electrifying kiss on the inside of her wrist. “That experience changed my entire outlook on air travel.”

“You’re going to bring it up every time we’re on a plane for the rest of our lives, aren’t you?” Claire gave a resigned laugh.

He blasted her with the thousand-watt, dimpled smile she loved nearly as much as the man who wielded it. “Absolutely.”

Claire leaned closer, placed her palm on his chest, and dropped her voice to a sultry whisper. “Next time we’re alone, we should re-create the experience in some other”—she let a slow, suggestive smile slide across her lips—“surprising location.”

He sucked in air. “Thought you didn’t like surprises?”

  “I like your surprises, Ethan.”

He tipped his head back and laughed. “Call me Lucky.” He pulled her tighter to his side. “After all, I am lucky in love.”

Claire thought about the lifetime full of love and laughter ahead of them. She snuggled closer to Ethan and brushed a soft kiss against his cheek. “We both are.”
