Angie's New Moon

“What’s her last name?” Alia rocked from side to side like she was uncomfortable.

“Lyco I think?” Angie turned to him and he nodded.

“I need to make a call.” Alia stood and walked away. Maria watched her leave, confusion filling her eyes.

“She’s calling her mother.” Olsen kept his gaze on his mate while he spoke softly to Maria.

“Wait, Luna must be the little witch kidnapped years ago. There were rumors she had great powers and if you have her blood in you, bringing out your magic, you need to be careful.” Carmen pointed toward Angie.

“What are we going to do about Kerine?” Hector asked, he couldn’t keep pondering what it would be like to have Angie taken from him. He couldn’t stand the idea of Angie leaving him and he tried hard to push his inner demons aside. He needed to focus on protecting his mate and not worry about her leaving.

“We will protect her, right?” Aiden turned to Derrick. The alpha’s eyebrows furrowed for a moment then he rubbed his hand over his face.

“Of course. She’s like my sister just as much as she is yours damn it.” Derrick stood and pulled Angie off the couch to face him. Hector resisted the urge to move and stand between them.

“Will you be staying here now that you’re not worried I’m a monster?” Derrick asked. Hector glanced around the room. I’m missing something here, right?

“I never thought you were Derrick. That was Mom and I’d love to stay here as long as you accept Hector too.”

“You good with that?” Derrick’s eyes zoned in on Hector. He moved his eyes down to his chin. His wolf instincts said never to look an alpha in the eyes, they take it as a challenge.

“Where Angie goes, I go.” When the words left his mouth, his wolf settled down.

“Good.” Derrick pulled Angie into a quick hug. “Welcome to the pack. If you want the coven, you’ll need to talk to my mate.”

“Thanks Derrick.” Maria shook her head. “Carmen do you second it?”

“Hell yes.” Carmen winked toward Angie and Hector. “We need to do a small ritual but it’s simple.”

“Then you’re part of the coven. We protect our own. This means a fight with Kerine.” Maria pulled Angie into a hug too.

“Yea, the crazy bitch needs to die.” Alia walked in and tossed her phone.

  “What?” Carmen raised an eyebrow.

“I need to talk to your brother to confirm, but I think Kerine is part of the group giving blood to the scientist.” Alia sneered. Hector’s wolf growled in rage. He knew something wasn’t right about the witch and now he had even more reason to hate her.

“They’re also being funded by the Devil Hunters.” Hector added, making everyone turn toward him, including Angie. “You were talking in your sleep the night I brought you home.”

“Fuck. The Devil Hunters have been a huge pain in the ass for years.” Aiden growled low.

“If it’s true, then there will be more places experimenting on wolves. I need to make some calls. Maria, call your brother.” Derrick continued to bark out his orders to everyone but Angie and Hector. Hector took the moment and pulled his mate to the back yard.

“I know you just pledged to the pack but I have to ask you something.” Hector faced her.

“What?” Angie met his gaze. He needed her to be safe and if running accomplished this, then they would go soon.

“If you want to run, we can. I’ll follow you anywhere, but this has to be your choice Angie. We can stay and fight or grab our stuff and leave so no one here has to go into battle for you.” Hector didn’t want to run, his wolf hated the words coming from his mouth but he wanted his mate to know all the options.

“I don’t want to hide anymore. I have been doing it most of my life because of my mother. I want to be back here in Austin where I can grow and love you. I want to have a family someday and be able to spend my time running around in our wolf forms.”

She looked around and took in a deep breath. He pulled her into a hug and took a deep whiff of her. She may not smell like a wolf anymore but she still carried his scent, his wolf loved it.

“You’re stealing my heart Angie.” He sighed and kissed her head. He couldn’t go back to the single life, to having a new girl every week. No, Angie both drove him insane and brought him peace all in a short time.

  CHAPTER TWENTY

  Angie

PLANS WERE SET AND tomorrow they would meet the Crescent Coven at the border. Maria showed her and Hector to their new house and Angie liked how close it was to her old family home. She worried about Hector leaving his old pack behind and part of her feared he would hold it against her. For now, she pushed back her thoughts, collapsing gratefully onto the extra-large bed inside.

Once again, the damn heat coursed through her body, but her exhaustion battled for first place. Little sparks flew from her hands but she managed to stop the magic with a little focus. The tea she drank earlier was wearing off but she hoped soon she wouldn’t need to drink it. In a few days, she went from having nothing to having a wolf, magic powers, a pack and a coven to support her. The day her mother took her away from her home filled her mind as she closed her eyes. Restless sleep followed and with the pending fight coming up, different versions played in her dreams. In the end, she dreamed of Hector’s death, snapping her back into wakefulness.

“Hector?” She shook and his warm hands pulled her body against his. She looked up to find concern filling his strong features.

“I’m here.” He kissed her hair bringing her comfort, and she relaxed into his strong arms. “I think I’m glad you’re a witch now.” Hector chuckled.

  “What do you mean?”

“Your heat is fading already. My wolf is pissed but it will be for the best considering what’s happening today.” Hector rubbed his nose in her hair.

“Should we have run?” Angie whispered. She didn’t want to say them but she needed to know where her mate stood.

“No, I think it’s good to fight for what’s mine.” Hector pulled off Angie’s shirt and then pushed down her bottoms along with her underwear. His words settled in and she liked hearing them. She liked how he slept naked making access to his sexy body so much easier. Maybe he will stay after all.

“What are you doing Mr.?” Angie giggled. His hard cock bounced against her belly making her body instantly warm up.

“I think we have time for one more before you're done with your heat.” He kissed her, chasing away all of her concerns. Need overrode all her problems and she let them go. All too soon she would have to worry about the lives around her. In this moment, she just wanted to feel the pleasure her mate gave her.

Angie wiggled around and straddled his wide body. The tip of his cock pressed against her slick entrance. She adjusted herself before meeting his gaze. She focused on his face as she slid down his shaft. She enjoyed the way his body tensed up while she surrounded him. Once he filled her up to the brim she released the breath that she didn’t realize she had held. The man below her had given her everything she had wanted during her years of emptiness.

Slowly, she lifted her hips up and then slammed down onto his shaft. His strong hands wrapped around her hips helping her up and down while desire coursed through her body. Every sweet inch of his cock brought her so much pleasure, she couldn’t even match it with words. His strong grip took over her movements, and she surrendered to the swarm of heat and pleasure coursing through her body, bringing her higher and closer to her bliss.

“Hector,” Angie moaned out his name. His grip tightened, and he thrust into her tight folds. The tension grew too strong, and she tipped over into an earth-shattering orgasm. His cock swelled, and he growled out his own release. They rode their bliss together and all too soon crashed back to earth. She fell onto his strong chest and listened to his steady heartbeat.

“I love you, Angie.” Hector kissed her head.

Angie met his gaze. Was this declaration said in the heat of passion? The lust in his eyes had faded, rep
laced with contentment and love. For the last day or so she had wanted to say the same thing but had kept her lips closed and her mind on other things.

“I love you, Hector. I have since we met and I’m so glad you’re all mine.” Angie wiped away the happy tears threatening to spill down her face. “You have given me so much and I don’t even know how to thank you enough.”

“Survive today and live a long healthy life with me. It will be enough for me.” Hector’s smile warmed her heart.

  “I will do my best.”

His cock hardened inside of her again. This time they took it slow and it filled her heart with even more passion. He said he loves me! In all her years moving from place to place, she never thought she would ever find love and happiness. Even with all the problems they had later in the day, none of it mattered. All that mattered now, was the man under her giving her all the love she needed.

  CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

  Hector

THE HILLS WERE QUIET making Hector’s wolf pace, his muscles bunched with nervous tension. Hector looked around waiting for something to happen. The pack and coven met together an hour ago, to once again go over the plan. Olsen and Alia argued for most of the meeting as to whether or not she would come alone. Merena and her older brother, Buzz were in charge of keeping the little ones safe, with a witch casting a protection charm on the alpha’s home.

Angie stood next to Hector in the middle near Carmen, Aiden, Maria, Olsen and Alia. Derrick stood toward the front. The pack and coven fanned around the group. A sudden chill filled the air, and Angie inched closer to Hector. He wrapped his arm around her hip to share his heat. Kerine, Angel approached them while twenty or so women followed the elder witches.

“This is witch business, mutt!” Kerine snapped out.

“Angie is part wolf which makes her part of my pack.” Derrick stood his ground. His old alpha had been strong but Derrick had a whole other level of strength, which seemed to radiate from him. Hector couldn’t explain it, but he thanked the goddess above for having Derrick on his side.

“She shouldn't be a witch. She wasn't born with those powers, which makes her unnatural.” Kerine sneered. Hector growled low before he managed to keep it down. The witch’s eyes snapped to Hector for a moment then back to Derrick. “Give her to us.”

“Not going to happen.” Maria moved up to stand next to Derrick. “She’s family.”

The bitch sneered in response. “She needs to be put down.” Kerine stepped forward followed by the other witches.

“I'm a person you bitch.” Angie spat out. “I'm learning to control my powers. Why are you so afraid of me?”

“I'm not afraid of anyone or anything.” Kerine’s dark brown eyes blazed with rage.

Pain laced through Hector’s body like fire, making him drop to his knees. A roar left his lungs, and he shifted into his wolf. Fights broke out across the field but Hector's focus stayed on the witch bitch.

Alia jumped into action and a red wolf, Olsen, ran toward Kerine. Kerine laughed and waved her hands toward Olsen making him stop and whimper in pain. Hector looked around and noticed some of the witches were barely fighting back. Angel and Maria stood toe to toe but nothing happened for a moment. Hector was about to move to help when Angel nodded to Maria. They both turned toward Kerine. Anger coursed through Hector’s body. Determination to put an end to the crazy bitch filled his soul.

Again, the hot fire rolled through Hectors body making him roar with pain. Angie steadied him and whispered something. He couldn’t focus on her words, the pain was too great. Snaps and bangs filled the air around them and Angie stood straight, fearlessly facing the witch bitch.

“You don’t want them, you want me.” Angie took another step toward Kerine. The urge to be right next to his mate surged through his system. A shimmer of a dome began forming above Kerine and Hector was about to be on the outside. He surged forward, landing next to Angie as the dome closed.

Kerine’s head whipped around and she glared at Angel.

“You betrayed me and you’ll pay for that.”

“This ends today. Your blood lust has gone too far.” Angel stood, raising herself to her full height.

Kerine threw Alia back into the dome then faced Angie. “You’re not strong enough to defeat me freak.”

“I have learned some of my own tricks thanks to Carmen and Alia.” Angie waved her hands a few times and muttered her own spell. The older witch cried out and began to weave a spell of her own. Angie’s hands shook a bit and a whimper left her lips. Anger surged through Hector. He lurched forward and wrapped his mouth around Kerine’s arm breaking her spell. Bits of flesh tore from her arm when he released her. He rolled away before she could reach him.

Spells were yelled and they waved their hands while Hector and Olsen looked for an opening. Olsen lunged but missed. He ran over to Alia and helped her up.

“Prohibre.” Angie yelled and Kerine froze in place.

“No, not that one.” Maria sounded panicked. Alia ran toward Angie who shook like crazy. Hector didn’t like how worried Maria sounded about his little mate.

“Deep breath, then let go.” Alia instructed and Angie listened. Hector moved himself in front of his mate to face the witch bitch. Olsen stood on his right. The dome faltered for a moment and Derrick joined the fight. All three lined up to face Kerine and slowly moved toward her. He needed to end this sooner rather than later, he worried what the magic was doing to his little mate.

Kerine laughed for a moment and flicked her wrists but nothing seemed to happen. Her smile faltered and she glared behind the wolves. Hector felt a surge of energy and he lunged toward the woman threatening to destroy his happiness. She screamed out as his claws ripped into her flesh.

He moved back into formation and Kerine stumbled away. This time Olsen attacked and she fell to her knees, both arms bleeding from deep gouges. Derrick growled low. The edge of the dome was a foot away. The witch whispered something and her bleeding stopped, as the cuts tried to heal themselves. Finally, only angry red claw marks glinted in the sun.

“You will die today Angie.” The woman’s hatred echoed in her voice as she screamed at Hector’s mate. He hated this bitch for trying to take Angie from him.

“No, I’ll live long enough to see my grandchildren.” Angie lifted her head proudly. Derrick shifted and Kerine glared at the alpha.

“Surrender now or I’ll kill you.”

“I’ll never surrender.” Kerine spat. “Ignis”

Derrick’s legs caught fire and slowly spread up his body. He roared in pain. Hector lunged forward knocking Kerine back. Hector snapped his jaw trying to kill her but she had her hands in his mouth. Olsen growled low and Hector pulled back just enough. Kerine was forced to let go of Hector to block Olsen.

Hector took his shot and wrapped his sharp teeth around her throat. Blood filled his mouth and he pulled hard. Kerine’s wide eyes met his. The scent of her blood filled his nose.

“Shit.” Alia gasped. Hector turned toward them to find Angie on the ground. Olsen nudged Hector and placed his paws on Kerine. Her breathing was ragged and slowing.

When he moved off her, Derrick took his place and broke her neck for good measure.

Hector shifted back and pulled her still form into his lap. “Angie,” Hector whispered.

“I’ll help her.” Angel kneeled next to his mate and closed her eyes. She could have avoided this if she had kept Kerine on a tighter rope.

“Why did you betray your own?” Hector asked.

“She’s been going slowly crazy for years. I called Carmen right before we left.” Angel started chanting and a hum filled the air. Both covens formed two circles around Angie.

Hector watched, his breathing shallow and panicky. He needed his mate.

Suddenly Angie gasped for a breath, making Hector’s world stand still.

  CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

  Angie

“SHE’S BEEN SLEEPING for two days, why isn't she waking up?” Hector sounde
d worried and Angie fought to open her eyes. She was exhausted and tried her hardest to fight against the darkness.

“Alia slept for three days when she almost died. It's part of being a witch. I'm sorry, honey.” Carmen voice sounded close but Angie still couldn’t move her body.

“I can hear her heart beat. It's stronger than yesterday.” Hector rubbed Angie’s hand

“She might need more time. The IV is helping her too. Have faith.” Carmen’s voice faded. Exhaustion took over again. She felt like she slept for only a few more hours when Hector’s voice came into her mind.

“Wake up Angie. Please don’t leave me here. I can’t do it alone.” Hector’s strong hand rubbed her right arm and his pleading voice broke her heart. Once again, she pushed at the wall of sleep and this time it gave.

“Damn it Angie. You need to open those eyes so I can tell you some good news.” Hector’s strong features came slowly into view.

“What good news?” Angie’s voice cracked, and she swallowed hard to try and clear her throat. Hector helped her sit up then handed her a glass of water. Once she finished sipping the water, his strong lips met hers in a crushing kiss. “How long was I out?” Angie yawned and looked around their bedroom in their new home.

“About four and a half days.” Hector kissed her hands then met her gaze. “Alia was coming over tonight to place a new IV. You moved too fast and ripped it out last night.”

“How is everyone else?” Angie asked while stretching out her tight muscles. She looked down at her arm where a nice bruise was visible in the crease where the IV used to be.

“No one had major wounds and Maria signed a treaty with Angel. The guys who are in charge of the experiments are being tracked down and justice will be served.” Hector smiled.
