She shook her head and cried. Her body was slowly weakening, and it was obvious she was coming down off of the adrenaline rush.
“We love you, baby,” Hunter whispered and kissed her forehead as the paramedics arrived.
She sniffled. “I love you, too. I’m sorry. So sorry,” she said then closed her eyes as the paramedics moved Hunter and York to the side so they could evaluate her injuries.
She was alive and Cameron was dead. Would C.J. and his family ever forgive her? Could she forgive herself for placing them in the middle of her danger? She closed her eyes and processed everything that had happened. I love them more than anything in the whole world. I can’t live without them. If C.J. hates me, then I’ll do whatever I need to in order to make it up to him. To them. Please God. Please don’t let me lose the first men I’ve ever loved and will ever love. Please.

C.J.’s brothers told him about Caroline’s reaction to him being shot. About how badly she had been hurt but wound up killing Cameron. He felt terrible and he wished he had been more alert that day Cameron had showed up, but he was caught in having fun with his woman, and nothing else seemed to matter. He could have died that day and it wasn’t like he would have died saving his woman from harm. He failed her, and she wound up being beaten, nearly raped, and forced to shoot and kill a man. Obviously they were all going through so many emotions and it was hard to just focus on the bottom line. The four of them were alive and well. They were so in love, and they needed to lean on one another in order to move on. That was easier said than done.
Caroline kept her distance from him when she visited. Once they saw one another the first time and she cried so hard as he held back his own tears at seeing her battered skin and hearing her moan and get hysterical asking for forgiveness. It had been rough, but he felt they could move on from this. Today Hunter was picking him up and heading to the house. Caroline would be there, too.
As they pulled up in front of the house, Hunter took a deep breath and gripped the steering wheel.
“What’s wrong?” he asked. Hunter looked at him.
“Caroline is holding back. Every day seems to get a little easier, but York and I know today is going to be tough. She can’t stop blaming herself for nearly getting you killed.”
“Well, we need to put a stop to that,” he said and opened his door and got out of the truck. As he headed inside, the first thing he saw was Caroline standing in the hallway and York right behind her. York smiled and Caroline looked plumb scared.
“Hey, brother, it’s good to have you home,” York said and slid by Caroline to greet C.J.
“It’s good to be home, and to see my woman standing here, too. Where’s my loving, sugar?” he asked her and she seemed surprised. Slowly she walked toward him and he pulled her close and hugged her tight.
“I love you, baby.” He ran his hand along her ass and gave it a squeeze. When she tried to pull back, he held her tighter. He whispered into her ear, “I love you. I don’t blame you for what happened. I blame him. He’s gone now, Caroline, and we have our whole lives ahead of us. When I was in the hospital, all I kept thinking was please let me live so I can love my woman, be with my brothers, and make Caroline happy.” He pulled her back and cupped her cheek with one hand and he saw the tears in her eyes.
“Now I’m only going to tell you this once, girl. Put this behind us. He lost, we won, because true love is a hell of a lot stronger than anything in this entire world. It was I that failed to protect you.”
“No, C.J. No that’s not true. I knew that Cameron could come. I ignored the possibility and got caught up in loving the three of you.”
“No regrets there, baby,” York added in, and he and Hunter stood there straight-faced and watching over them.
“We knew he was out there and that him coming was a possibility. None of that matters anymore, you hear me?” C.J. scolded. Her cheeks blushed and he gave her a wink.
“You disobey and they’ll be a spanking to be had,” he said and turned her toward his brothers and the kitchen, giving her a slap to her ass. The sound echoed in the hallway and she gasped.
“And how do you plan to do that with your injury?” she challenged.
He shook his head. “Sweet Caroline, don’t you know by now how resourceful we Mantel men are?” he asked.
She placed her hands on her hips as she faced him. “Really?” she challenged and then Hunter lifted her up and tossed her over his shoulder.
“Yes, really. It’s called teamwork.”
“Oh yeah, we’re making love to our woman all night long,” York said and rubbed his hands together.
“Don’t forget the lube, York. I’m going to be fucking that ass as I’m spanking it. Show our woman how resourceful we are,” C.J. said, following them up the stairs. Caroline was giggling and telling them she didn’t believe what they were doing. As Hunter undressed her then turned her around to face the bed and straddle York, she looked mighty surprised and aroused. York pulled her down to kiss her as he thrust up into her while Hunter helped C.J. get undressed.
“You sure about this?” Hunter asked him.
“Just put the lube where I can reach it,” he said and Hunter smiled and then climbed up into the bed, pulling Caroline’s mouth to his cock as C.J. watched her try to work his brother’s thick, long cock partially into her mouth.
C.J. ran his hands along her ass and squeezed. “One ass spanking coming up for our woman,” he said and gave her ass cheeks a few smacks. Caroline moaned and so did York and Hunter.
C.J. chuckled as he grabbed the lube and maneuvered some to his fingers and her ass with one hand. With his arm in a sling, it was difficult to maneuver so he wiggled from it.
“Who is in control now, baby?” he asked and began to lubricate her ass with his fingers, making her push back with need for his cock. He chuckled and then replaced his fingers with his cock and slid on in. he held her hips, then held his breath, closed his eyes, and exhaled. “Home, my God it is good to be home with my family.”
They all continued to make love to Caroline while he smacked her ass a few more times until York came and then Hunter. He followed and they all cuddled up together, knowing that they might still have a lot of fears and emotions to work out, but the bottom line was that they loved one another, and nothing was more powerful than this love they shared.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
People seem to be more interested in my name than where I get my ideas for my stories from. So I might as well share the story behind my name with all my readers.
My momma was born and raised in New Orleans. At the age of twenty, she met and fell in love with an Irishman named Patrick Riley Dwyer. Needless to say, the family was a bit taken aback by this, as they hoped she would marry a family friend. It was a modern-day arranged marriage kind of thing, and my momma downright refused.
Being that my momma’s families were descendants of the original English-speaking Southerners, they wanted the family bloodline to stay pure. They were wealthy, and my father’s family was poor.
Despite attempts by my grandpapa to make Patrick leave and destroy the love between them, my parents married. They recently celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary.
I am one of six children born to Patrick and Lynn Dwyer. I am a combination of both Irish and a true Southern belle. With a name like Dixie Lynn Dwyer, it’s no wonder why people are curious about my name.
Just as my parents had a love story of their own, I grew up intrigued by the lifestyles of others. My imagination as well as my need to stray from the straight and narrow made me into the woman I am today.
