Love At Last: A M/M Non-Shifter Romance (West Bay Chargers Book 4)

He ramped his pace up. He started moving his hips even faster. Watching his body rise and fall on top of me was a sight. Sweaty, tan skin covered in ink. Muscles from his abs to his chest. An intense look of desire in his eyes. Jaw lowered as he breathed to try and pace himself.
But better than anything else was how his body felt. He was so wet… so warm… The amount of heat coming from his body was enough to make me sweat regardless of how hard he was working me.
My heart pounded harder in my chest. I breathed in but couldn’t quite fill my lungs.
My hands squeezed on his hips and my body took control. I rammed myself up and into him. The loud sound of my sweaty hilt slamming against his ass echoed through my apartment. We were going at it so hard the couch started to shift.
“Cade… Cade, I…” His mouth hung open as he tried to speak. His eyes closed. I had trouble focusing myself.
“Brock… Oh… What is that?”
His body was so warm underneath my touch. His insides were engulfing me, flooding my senses to the point I couldn’t even think straight.
He fell down on top of me, giving me a deep kiss then looking into my eyes. “I’m… I’m in heat.”
The word stopped my heart in my chest for a second. Even though I couldn’t think straight, I didn’t wanna hear it.
It wasn’t possible. Not him. Not me. Not now.
But the more my desire grew in my stomach, the less strength I had to fight it.
My instincts took control. I wasn’t even me anymore.
I pulled out of him. He gasped when I pushed him onto the side of the couch.
“Turn around.” I grabbed his arms and did it for him, not giving him a choice. But he got on all fours willingly and stuck his ass out at me.
I grabbed his cheeks and spread him. His entrance was dripping wet at this point, his cock swollen hard underneath it. I grabbed my sensitive shaft and stroked it before pushing it up toward his hilt.
“Oh, God… Give it to me…” I’d never heard a man so desperate before. “Give it to me, Cade…”
I firmed my grip on his hip and plunged myself into him. He was so wet, I slid right in without any trouble. It was like being swallowed whole by him.
I rocked my hips back and forth, slamming my hilt against his ass. The sound of our hard bodies colliding had never been so loud. Along with the couch shifting underneath us, Brock groaned uncontrollably.
“Don’t stop… Harder…”
I grunted as I tried to comply. I gave it to him like I was trying to split him in half. Deep, forceful strokes made his entire body shift but he kept moaning like he would die if I didn’t give it to him.
Sweat dripped all over my body. My bangs fell over my eyes. My muscles tensed. My heart raced. My cock throbbed hard inside of his walls.
The end was near. All of my seed was building up inside of me to the point there was no holding back.
“I’m gonna come… I’m gonna come so deep and so hard inside of you…”
“Do it! Please… I want it!”
His desperation only made me wanna give it to him that much harder.
I raised a leg and dug my foot into the couch cushion so I could get even deeper into him. I bent over and mounted him completely. Sweaty bodies pressed together. Both moaning and grunting loud enough for the neighbors to hear. Muscles aching and cocks throbbing. There was no turning back now.
“Brock…”
I gritted my teeth as my orgasm slammed into me. I came hard, my first throb of cum spilling out of me. It was like my entire being was being drained from me. Another thick rope of my seed filled his walls. Then another. Then another.
“Cade…”
He groaned and tightened around me, milking me for every drop I had. Feeling his body tremble underneath my grip just made my orgasm that much more satisfying.
I thought it would be over but it wasn’t. I stayed on top of him, my cock planted deep in him while more of my cum filled him up. My jaw dropped and groans continued to pour from my mouth. Coming felt so good it was almost agonizing.
I stayed inside of him when I finished. A few last drops of seed leaked out of me before I was able to pull out. I caught a glimpse of my cum trickling down the inside of his muscular thighs before my knees gave out on me.
My body was gone completely. I couldn’t even sit up straight. I just fell on my carpet in a heap and stared up at the ceiling. My heart was pounding so hard I wondered if it would ever slow down. My lungs burned. Sweat dripped over every inch of my skin like I was fresh out of the shower.
My eyes closed, I listened to the sound of Brock breathing on the couch next to me.
That’s when it hit me. The realization of what we’d just done.
He was an Omega. Another man just went into heat. And I ended it. We didn’t have to tell each other what that meant.
But there was still a part of me that wanted to deny it. It wasn’t who Brock was. It was what he was. A Demon.
It was still early in the night. The sun had only just gone down in Snow Falls. But something told me this was only the beginning.
“Brock.”
It took a few seconds before he responded. “Yeah?”
“We need to talk about this.”
“I don’t think we have a choice about that.”
Despite my sudden circumstances, hearing his voice was enough to put a smile on my face. I enjoyed the bliss of the moment for as long as I could, knowing it wouldn’t last for much longer.
Chapter 12
BROCK
The rumble in my stomach was like nothing I’d ever felt before. I wasn’t just hungry. I wasn’t even starving. It was as if I would die if I didn’t get some food.
I kept myself satiated with some of the snacks Cade had in his fridge. It took him longer than expected when he showed back up in his apartment with two bags full of food.
“All right…” He placed everything on the table. “Got everything you asked for. Some lasagna. Steak and rice. Fried chicken. Turkey and mashed potatoes. A couple of burritos…”
My mouth watered at the spread in front of me. I rubbed my hands together, not sure where I was gonna start.
“The guy at Tony’s thinks I’m having a party.” Cade chuckled as he took a seat across from me.
“This isn’t a party but it’s kind of a celebration. Things like this don’t happen every night.”
“No kidding. You weren’t waiting long, were you?”
“I made it.” I took a hunk out of the burrito and savored the juicy pork in my mouth. Even with a big bite, I was still as hungry as ever. “You know, you should really think about putting some actual food in your pantry. I don’t know how you survive.”
“I don’t usually eat at home. Most of my time is spent at Brickstone. Bryce was the one who always had the homemaking skills. I guess that makes sense since he’s the Omega in the family…”
“Bryce?”
“My brother. He runs the bar.”
I nodded and picked up a knife and fork to work on my steak. Cade silently munched on a french fry. I was too distracted by my own hunger to care too much about the subtle grin he had. Then again, I couldn’t blame him for looking so curiously at me.
“How are you?” he asked. “You’re not sick, are you?”
“Sick? I don’t know if that’s the word I’d use. I feel different. Like something I’ve never felt before. No question about that. But honestly, I’m more hungry than anything else.” I sank my teeth into the juicy steak then scooped a forkful of rice into my mouth. I had so much food my cheeks bulged.
“Careful now. You don’t wanna choke.”
I kept chewing until I could swallow my bite down. “Sorry… I’ve just never been this hungry before. I can’t get my mind off of how good everything tastes.”
“A whole month of this… Do you think you can keep it up?”
I’d been so focused on my hunger I didn’t realize just how serious this was.
I was p
regnant. There was no denying it. Even without my hunger, the strange sensations in my stomach were there.
I always wondered what it was like. Being an Omega, you always knew it was a possibility. Now that the moment was here, I didn’t know how to react.
A month-long pregnancy didn’t seem like nearly enough time to prepare for fatherhood but I didn’t have much of a choice.
A drumstick found its way into my hands. The chicken was just as juicy as everything else. Cade stayed silent as he kept munching on his french fries from across the table. It was obvious there was something on his mind but I wasn’t about to push him. The situation was awkward enough.
“I’ll do everything I can,” he said.
“What do you mean?”
“I’m the father of your child. It’s… It’s not exactly what I pictured in my head but that won’t change how much I’ll care for your child.”
“I know how it works. People don’t usually plan on going into heat.”
“It’s not even that. I’ve been with so many people…”
“Spare me the details.” I hid my smile behind another bite of steak.
“…I figured I was just one of those Alphas who was never destined to be with anybody. Not that I had a problem with it or anything. If there was one thing in my life I was comfortable with, it was knowing I would never find another man to be with.”
“That doesn’t sound like a very happy existence.”
“My existence isn’t defined by my ability to find a mate. I’ve got a brother who’s got a kid of his own. I thought that would be the closest I’d ever be to being a parent. Hell, just taking care of the West Bay feels like I’m babysitting all the time.”
“You’ve seen it for yourself. The West Bay is doing just fine. It doesn’t need you to babysit as much anymore.”
He chewed the rest of his fry, his eyes lost and his mind wandering. “I guess you’re right… I’m gonna be a father… Strange…”
“So… This won’t be a problem for you?”
He shrugged and shook his head. “Just because I didn’t plan on it doesn’t mean I won’t give it my all. Are you sure this won’t be a problem for you?”
Cade’s question caught me off guard even though it was the most obvious question. It wasn’t every day you met a stranger and then fathered his kid the next. But there was still the awkwardness of dealing with the two clubs I had to deal with.
“Leon won’t admit it outright but he’s not too happy with you and the Chargers. You’ve kept foiling every single plan he’s come up with like he’s some dastardly villain.”
“What does it matter what Leon thinks?” Cade gave me a confused look.
I searched for the right words to say but there were none. I couldn’t hide it from him for much longer, so there was no point in keeping it from him.
“You know I’m a Demon,” I said. “I roll with Leon and his crew. That’s how things have always been.”
“That doesn’t mean they can’t change. I mean, it’s just a crew. You can walk away. I know what kinda man Leon is and I know what he’s capable of, but even he wouldn’t put his hands on a pregnant man. Just leave them behind. I can take care of you and the baby. I’ve got money. I’ll keep you safe. You’ll never have anything to worry about—”
“That’s not it. It’s something else. I… I can’t walk away.”
“Why not?” Cade looked even more confused than he already was. Even though I didn’t have to worry about him doing anything, I still struggled on how to say it. I wasn’t going to walk away from Leon. But I couldn’t walk away from Cade either.
He kept staring at me, waiting for my response but the words stayed stuck in my throat. His face softened and the confusion in his eyes was replaced by concern.
“What is it, Brock? You know you can tell me.”
I sighed a deep breath and put my knife and fork down. “I first met Leon when I was in the city. I was broke. Living on the streets. There were days when I wondered if I’d even get a meal to eat. Up in the city, it’s tough for Omegas to find a place for themselves. I guess I never really had much of a chance. Just a high school dropout without much skills outside of being able to cook. That’s funny, isn’t it? What good is knowing how to cook if you don’t have any ingredients to make yourself anything?
“I met Leon when I was working at this small diner no bigger than your apartment. Him and his gang were hanging around. He told me he had an opportunity for me. Told me he could give me some money and offered me a place to stay.”
“There’s no shame in that, Brock.”
“That’s not it. It wasn’t about having a roof over my head or food in my stomach. I…” I laughed at how absurd what I was about to say was. “…I never really had any friends growing up. Didn’t have any family. Just another Omega in an orphanage. Leon made me feel like I belonged. Him and the crew… They’re my friends. They’re family. I wouldn’t be here without them. When I started rolling with them, for the first time in my life, someone stood up for me.”
I looked down at the food on my plate. Even though my hunger was still rumbling in my belly, all I could think was how embarrassed I was to admit it.
“I can’t turn my back on Leon. I can’t turn my back on the crew.”
Cade sighed a deep breath. When I looked up, I was surprised to see the smile on his lips.
“I understand,” he said.
“You do?”
He nodded. “You make a bond with the people you ride with. I’m that way with the Chargers. I don’t see the boys as often as I used to but as someone once told me, that doesn’t make our bond any weaker. We’re all Chargers. We’ll always be Chargers.”
“And I’ll always be a Demon.”
He shuffled his chair over until he was sitting right next to me. “I’ll never force you to do anything you don’t wanna do. I just want you to know I’ll be here for you and our child. No matter what. Now… Why don’t you pick your fork back up and get back to work on that steak?”
“You just said you’d never force me to do anything.”
“Anything you didn’t already wanna do.” He wrapped his arm around me and kissed me on the cheek. It was strange how comfortable I was around him even though I just met him.
“Well, then… I guess I’d better get back to work.” I picked my utensils back up and got busy slicing at the juicy steak in front of me.
My pregnancy was only going to get more complicated as it came along. That didn’t matter now. All I wanted was to enjoy my dinner with the man next to me.
Chapter 13
CADE
Sean was an ex-military tough guy. Ever since I first met him, he was as loyal and honest as you could ask for. Even though he was the newest member of the crew, I still respected him the same as the other long-standing members.
That included Tristan. The guy might’ve been nonchalant about everything and his cockiness rubbed people the wrong way, but I was glad he was on the Chargers.
It wasn’t any secret why I appreciated Zak’s company. Just one look at the big redhead was enough for people not to try and mess with our crew. There was a time when I was concerned about pointing out people I wanted him to take care of. That went away quickly when I realized he enjoyed putting his fists in people’s faces.
Along with Kellen, there wasn’t a finer group of men to ride with. They weren’t afraid of anything. And they’d do whatever it took to get the job done, even if it meant getting their hands dirty.
These days, they were getting their hands dirty with diapers and formula for their children. Strange to think that’s why I needed them here with me today.
I stood at the head of the table in the back meeting room of Brickstone. Sean leaned forward with his chin in his palm like he was trying not to fall asleep. Tristan kicked his feet up, his arms crossed and his eyes flickering open and closed. Zak was a few seconds away from passing out himself. Kellen was the only man who looked like he got any sleep the night before
.
It was just before noon when I called a meeting. After spending a night with Brock, I wasn’t any closer to finding a solution to my dilemma. Now my problem was trying to break the news to everybody. It wasn’t just them finding out Brock was a Demon.
“Damn…”
“What’s going on?” Tristan said. “You didn’t call a meeting this early for no reason. Something’s up. Something better be up. Otherwise, I’m gonna be pretty pissed I’m missing out on my beauty sleep.”
“You know I wouldn’t call you boys to waste your time. This is important.”
“Don’t listen to him,” Kellen said. “Take your time. If this is important, say it when you need to.”
Every member of the crew had their eyes on me. I leaned back in my seat, chuckling because I knew they were gonna bust my balls.
“I never thought I’d get to this point,” I said. “But I need your guys’ help.”
“Whoa… This sounds serious.” Sean leaned forward in his seat. Everybody was paying even closer attention to me.
“Where do I start?” I shook my head and shrugged, knowing there was no right way to say it. “I… I met someone.”
“You met someone?” Tristan raised an eyebrow at me. “What the hell does that mean?”
“What do you think it means, dummy?” Zak said. “Cade here met someone special. You found an Omega?”
“Yeah… I did…” Saying it out loud for the first time made me smile unexpectedly. “I was with him last night. We were spending time together and… and he went into heat. You know how these things go. You never actually plan it but… it happened.”
Tristan blinked his eyes, the disbelief on his face was clear. Sean wasn’t sure how to react, his brow wrinkled with confusion. Zak just stared at the table like he was going over it in his head. But they were all smiling the same as Kellen.
“Damn,” Kellen said. “Another one bites the dust. And you said it would never happen to you. Ha!”
The rest of the table burst into laughter. If this were any other case, I’d check every single one of them for laughing. But I had every reason to smile.
