Someone Else's Dream

She felt some movement in her hand, unsure of what she felt she looked down, “did you say something,” she asked Carla, she could clearly see and feel two fingers wrapped around her own, Donna’s heart went into her mouth as she looked at Carla’s eyes flickering before they were fully open.

  “NURSE!!!” she screamed.

After two months Carla was transferred to a hospital in Swansea to further her recovery, other than a scar above her right eye and a slight limp from where she had to have a leg pinned there was to be no further permanent injuries. The mental ones, no one was quite sure of. It was only when she was in the Swansea hospital did they deem her well enough to tell her that Matt Conner or his body had never been seen again. His blood was found in the car but there was no sign of him. She spent two weeks at her parents with Donna stopping with her, before she returned home. She stood outside the beach house in the rain, with Donna alongside her, Donna had gone to the beach house the day before and spring cleaned the house, leaving flowers and wine on the kitchen table. It had been a hard struggle for them both and as Carla looked at her home she realised that all she really wanted was Donna, whether they could re-kindle that love she didn’t know.

“Wait here, let me go in on my own.” She asked Donna. Donna just watched her as she went inside.

Carla picked up the flowers and smelt them, before laying them back down, the place smelled beautiful. There was welcome home cards placed on the sideboards and mantle. She went into her bedroom and froze.

Lying on the bed was a multi coloured umbrella.
