  Dugall grinned and straightened. “Yer grandfather was quite the romantic, and one poetic letter to his darlin’ leaves nae doubt as to who sired yer father.” He puffed his chest out and patted his pectoral muscles. “We Scots are mighty proud in that way.”

  “You no more than any other randy man,” she admonished with a soft chuckle. “I’m relieved. I know it seems silly, but the notion of that foul man being my grandfather, our child’s great-grandfather, made my head hurt.”

  Dugall suddenly bent and scooped her into his embrace, and with a tiny startled yelp, Gwendolyn flung her arms around his neck.

  “What are you about, you daft man?”

  That naughty grin she’d come to associate with his rising desire tipped his mouth up at one corner. “I have the perfect cure for yer headache, my darlin’.”

  Dugall laid her on their great bed, and in moments had stripped away both their clothing. He lay beside her, resting his palm on the small mound of her stomach. He captured her mouth in a ravenous kiss and played his hand lower. Then lower still.

  With a sigh, Gwendolyn entwined her arms about his neck and surrendered to his skillful seduction.
