Queen of Light

He slid from the stool at the counter and walked to the window at the front of the shop. “Gorgeous night, isn’t it?” he asked his sister as a chill ran down his spine. Lucas peered into the dark but nothing accounted for the way his heart began to race in his chest.
What the hell? His eyes narrowed on a shadow that seemed out of place, but as soon as he blinked, it was gone.
“Lucas! Hello?”
He turned, frowning. “What? Why are you yelling?”
“You home in there?”
“Yeah, sorry.”
She gave him a long look before gesturing to the plates sitting on the counter with her head. “Sandwiches are ready.”
He nodded, still bothered by the feeling of being watched. After one last cursory check, he decided to let it go for now. Lucas walked back to his seat and let his thoughts drift to stolen moments on the roof and the haunting amber eyes he’d found there.

Acknowledgments
Writing this book terrified me. I had to find a way to say goodbye to characters that had become as close to me as family in the last couple of years. On top of that, I desperately wanted to do them justice. Not just for me, but for the people that invested their time and money to read my words. (I still can’t believe that happened. You guys are freaking amazing.)
These words have been thoughts inside my head for so long, when it came time to finally share them I was paralyzed more days than not. It is with no small bit of humility that I admit this, but it’s important because it means that these thank yous are truly well deserved. Without the following people, I would probably still be staring at pages of notes and a blank computer screen.
For my family (even those of you that are not readers) that made a point to ask how it was going and listen to me geek out on specifics of fight scenes, jokes that weren’t funny to anyone but me, or my detailed explanation of the newest M. Night Shyamalan twist… thank you.
Gabe… there are no words for what your support means to me. Trust me… I’ve searched for them. Thank you for being my person, and for loving all the wacky sides of me. You are the other half of this author, even though your name isn’t on the cover.
Fran, Jess, Laura… I love you ladies. Thank you for always being there to listen and offer your support or share a bottle of wine… or both. <3
For My Chosen… thank you for reading my words. Every email, every message, every kind word is cherished and saved for me to revisit on the tough days. I keep writing because of you.
Hanleigh, Lori, Dominique… thank you for sharing your talent with me. Here’s to another job well done.

ABOUT MEG ANNE
* * *
Meg Anne has always had stories running on a loop in her head. They started off as daydreams about how the evil queen (aka Mom) had her slaving away doing chores; and more recently shifted into creating backgrounds about the people stuck beside her during rush hour. The stories have always been there; they were just waiting for her to tell them.

Like any true SoCal native, Meg enjoys staying inside curled up with a good book and her cat Henry… or maybe that's just her; sunburns hurt! You can convince Meg to buy just about anything if it's covered in glitter or rhinestones, or make her laugh by sharing your favorite bad joke. She also accepts bribes in the form of baked goods and Mexican food.

Meg loves to write about sassy heroines and the men that love them. She is best known for her fantasy romance series The Chosen, which can be found on Amazon.
