This novel would not exist without the love and support of my husband and son, who miraculously believe in me and never complain about take-out meals and conversations about imaginary friends. I’m thankful for my dad, who inspired my love of storytelling, and my mom, who indulged my love of reading. My grandma for making sure we knew our roots and who is my oak tree. My nieces for inspiring me to write a novel they might want to read one day. I’m forever grateful to my writer friends, champions and beta readers, particularly JoAnn the Magnificent, Hillary Hun-Bun, Michelle who lives by a river, K.M. Allan, Julia Blake, Rebecca Carpenter and Becky & James at Platform House Publishing for the amazing cover design and interior formatting, Maria and Sherry.
Your support and encouragement mean everything. I feel so blessed.
Special Note:
The painting that Stella and Murad viewed was called The Woods in Twilight by William Carter. This fictitious painting was inspired by my favorite painting, The Forest in Winter at Sunset, a mid-19th century oil painting by Théodore Rousseau that currently resides in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC. If you are ever fortunate enough to view it (it does move around) I hope you will see its special magick for yourself.
