He would have her body, her soul, and her mind.

He would make her—pay—for Paloma’s treachery.

Bile rose in his throat as he pulled away from her. Gasping for breath, he felt like he would vomit, dropping to his knees to gather himself. A hand cracked against his cheek and he reveled in the pain, the sting. It made him feel alive. He wanted another.

Grasping Kadence by the waist, he pulled her close to him. “Again!”

Wide-eyed, she looked aghast, as if she didn’t understand him.

  “Hit me…again!” Michel roared.

She ignored his plea and he shook her hard. “Again!”

She slapped him, harder than the first time, the bite of pain making him focus on that. Only that. For that brief second, he forgot the other pain. “Again!”

“Let—me—go!” She tried to pull from him, but his grasp on her hips was too tight. Grasping his fingers, she attempted to peel them from her. “You’re hurting me!”

  “Hurt me back. Again!”

The punch took him by surprise, her small tight-handed fist careening off his cheek. She packed a good wallop.

“Release me! Stop this, stop it now!” Tears threatened to slip over the edges of her lids. He didn’t want her sorrow: he needed her rage. She should hate him for what he’d done to her, said to her, for what he was about to do to her.

He needed to forget, needed to supplant the pain with something else. His cock filled with need, the confusion of his driving emotions making his mind whirl. He needed. Pain. Sex. Either would do. If it would mask the memory of Paloma, it would do. Michel pulled her into his lap and stole another kiss as she fought against him.

Michel didn’t want her rage, her anger. He wanted—no, he needed—her love. His heart ached for softness, for light. Everything she was, he needed with the desperation of a dying man. She could be his lifeline: he only had to grasp her. But she would run from him if he continued to spiral down into the madness that gripped him now.

He should release her. He could do no such thing. She would be his, if only he would temper himself against her. Prevent her from running screaming from his embrace.

He needed her love. He needed her acceptance. But he could not lower the wall.

He softened his touch, grasping her head in a loving caress and brought her close. As if sensing the change, she stopped fighting, but did not submit. She froze for a moment, allowing the kisses but not engaging in them. His other hand roamed to a breast, cupping the full weight of it in his palm.

Her low moan was music to his ears and moments later she began to return his kisses, her tongue warring with his own. Dropping her to the ground, he wedged himself between her legs as she lay on the soft grasses and began thrusting against her still-clothed body. The friction was decadent, the need only growing in him.

“So much anger.” Kadence pulled her lips from his. “Where is this coming from?”

Michel wasn’t ready to delve into his emotions. He needed to forget. Either she offered him abandon or she was worthless to him at this moment. He swallowed her question, thrusting harder against her.

“Are you going to treat her like a whore and fuck her on the ground, or at least take her inside?”

Michel looked over his shoulder at Gabriel, anger filling him once more. His friend was right. They were not safe to do this outdoors. He quickly stood and held out a hand to Kadence. She looked at him for long moments as if calculating if she should take the chance to run or not. If she did, he would give chase. There was no backing off now. He would have her.

  She looked to Gabriel.

“I don’t trust you not to hurt her in the state you’re in, Michel. I don’t think she does either.”

“Then come with us and protect her from me.” Michel looked over his shoulder once more.

“Sex won’t ease the pain you have.”

“Yes. Yes it will.” Michel reached out his hand to her again, his eyes demanding she come.

She looked to Gabriel again. Something she saw there seemed to calm her and she took Michel’s hand. Michel pulled her to her feet and stepped in close to her body, inhaling her sweet scent. Leaning down, he trailed his tongue along her jaw to her ear.

  “I won’t be gentle.”

He felt her tremble in his arms and his balls tightened to his body. Not even inside her, he was almost ready to explode from need alone.

“After what I saw, I wouldn’t expect you to be.” Earnest lavender eyes looked up at him with something akin to pity. His teeth clenched and he knew he’d fuck her so hard that it would wipe that look from her eyes forevermore.

  Chapter Fourteen

Kadence followed Michel into the room she’d shared with Gabriel the night before. Gabriel was close behind her, his heat emanating from his body. She leeched some of that into herself, to thaw the chill that came from the man before her.

  What was she doing?

He obviously had issues that sex was not going to cure. Yet she sensed a great need in him. The same one she had felt last night times a thousand. The need to forget, to focus on something other than pain and loneliness. Gabriel had been there for her, to push her over the edge and allow her a safe free-fall into oblivion.

Michel needed more than a night of rough sex to ease whatever this ache was inside him. That she was sure about. But if it could help him release some of the demons, enough to let him see more clearly, then how could she reject him?

His plea for pain had been scary. She wasn’t sure what to make of it. And she feared that if she didn’t hold him close right now, that he would go off the deep end and get himself hurt, past the point of no return.

As soon as they neared the bed, Michel turned and began yanking off her clothing. Gone was the smooth operator, the suave, seductive charmer from their night after dinner. The man before her was pure nerves, flayed open for all to see.

He pulled off his own clothes as she watched, unsure of what to do next. She wasn’t a seductress, the closest she’d ever been to being one was their last near-brush with sex. But that had been an alcohol-fueled night of illusion. Tonight, they were all open to one another, in the light of day. It was honest and raw. There was no fancy restaurant, expensive champagne, or exclusive penthouse.

Looking over her shoulder, she saw Gabriel nude behind her, his clothing in a pile to the side. He hovered behind her, protective. He seemed to sense that this was about Michel and his needs, and he was only here to shield her. She saw the concern etched into his handsome face. His eyes slid over to her and she smiled softly.

Gabriel had not wanted to share her. But he did this out of love. Love for his friend who was in pain. And she saw her Spaniard in a whole new light. For all his jealousy, he was not spiteful or cruel.

Michel pulled her close as he dropped the last piece of his clothing, capturing her mouth in a deep kiss. Gabriel moved behind her, dropping kisses on her shoulders. Arching into Michel, she lost herself in their warmth, their burning mouths. She’d wanted this, to see how it felt to be loved by two men at once. And now, she was getting her fantasy.

It wasn’t exactly how she envisioned it, but it was as it should be, for some reason.

And she sensed that after tonight, it would never happen again. Michel was damaged, much too far for her to ever heal. His trust had been shattered at some point in his life and she wanted to console the deep loneliness she’d always felt from him. He may never be able to trust her fully. And she had come to terms with it.

  Tonight would be about Michel.

The tomorrows, however many there were of them, would be about Gabriel. Only Gabriel. He was the one. It took them coming to this point to realize it.

Michel lifted her into his arms and moved to the bed, dropping her in the center. He lay by her legs and coaxed her thighs apart with his palms before lying between them and sampling her with his tongue. He was rough, his hands pulling at her skin, his mouth biting her, but never over the point where she could take it.
/>   Gabriel rounded the other side of the bed and slipped beside her, his whole length lining her in warmth. His mouth sought hers, kissing her deeply, lovingly. His fingers reached out to cup a breast in his palm, and he squeezed tenderly. He was the softness needed to balance out the rough invasion Michel mounted below.

Strong fingers entered her, roughly stroking inside her, as Michel’s mouth continued to suck and bite at her clit. The whole time, she gazed into Gabriel’s eyes, his kisses drugging her, his fingers manipulating her breasts.

Michel slid a hand lower, a finger piercing her tight bud. Although she sensed some reserve compared to his rough treatment of her pussy, he still surged forth quickly, a hiss of pain escaping her lips. Gabriel swallowed her pain, reaching down to steady Michel’s actions. Michel slowed his motions just as he bit her clit hard.

Arching into the sensation, he eased his finger deeper, fully planting it inside her. He thrust the finger about a few times and then added another, stretching her taut.

The edge of pain, coupled with Michel’s fierce attack on her tight bud and Gabriel’s loving caresses had her on the brink. She felt the crest of the wave swirling through her, blood thrumming in her ears as it neared.

“Fly, querida. I’ll be here to catch you.”

Gabriel kissed her neck as she arched into her orgasm, pleasure coursing through her body. The two men were such polar opposites; they filled the dual needs she had. Hard and soft. Gabriel had been both to her thus far. His compassionate side showing for her now touched her in a way she couldn’t expect.

As Michel took from her, Gabriel gave.

Once she’d crested Michel slipped on a condom and moved to lie beside her on his back. Michel then pulled her over him and she straddled his lap. He surged the head of his cock just slightly into her entrance, sweat beading on his forehead at the almost imperceptible control he held on to by a thread. Gabriel slipped behind her, aligning his cock with her nether hole. They slowly pressed forward, sliding into her inch by inch.

They were both larger than any lover she’d experienced, and she’d never experienced two at once. The sensation of fullness was overwhelming, her eyes watered from the razor-sharp edge of pleasure-pain. But she couldn’t ask them to stop, it felt too good. Michel brought a nipple into his mouth as Gabriel’s fingers found her clit, twisting his heavy thumb over the band of nerves in a circular motion.

She relaxed from their tender caresses, and their cocks slowly slid in, completely filling her. They paused, letting her grow accustomed to the sensation before gradually moving in tandem, a gentle in-out tempo that began to build an inferno within her. Gabriel’s hand on her clit continued its lazy rotation, in time with the rhythmic thrust and parries the men created with the movement of their hips. Fire burned through her, the near-pain from the stretching of her body crashing against the pleasure their strokes brought her higher and higher toward a release unlike any she’d had before.

Tears burned the back of her eyes, stars circled in her vision, and she bit her lips as she surrendered to the sensations. They mastered her body; they forced her to submit to their will, giving her pleasure upon pleasure until she could barely tolerate any more.

She would never be the same after this night.

Her release bombarded her at last, her channel milking Michel’s hard cock, her body tightening like a bowstring as she rushed over the precipice. She took them with her, felt both of them tighten and their bodies shudder within her, the warmth of their releases blasting inside her. Breathing shallowly, they rested, still entwined.

Michel rose from the bed, sliding to the side, his feet resting on the floor. Kadence saw his back, his shoulders, all now more relaxed than before. She reached out to touch him and he flinched. She pulled the hand back, knowing she’d been right. She could never touch the inner part of him. The walls he’d built so long ago were impossible to breech.

Looking over his shoulder, Michel had a look of remorse in his eyes. “I thought you could be the one.”

“I thought I could be, too.”

“I’m sorry—” Michel shook his head, looking forward. He seemed unable to look at her. “I’m sorry for all the things I’ve said. You didn’t deserve them.”

Kadence rose and put a hand to his lips, stopping him from saying any more. The emotions were still too close to the surface for them to delve into so soon. His admission of sorrow was enough for now. “One day, I hope you’ll find a woman who can be the one you need. I’m just glad I had the chance to soothe some of your pain.”

Turning, he kissed her hand and grinned. The smile didn’t go to his eyes, and she was empathized with his pain. But she knew it was too great. Michel rose, leaving them alone.

Kadence turned back into Gabriel’s arms, lying on his chest as he stroked her hair. “You knew he was broken.”

  It wasn’t a question.

“Yes, and I feared he would hurt you if I let him get too close. I want you too bad to let him destroy our chances at happiness.”

“All this time, I thought you were jealous.”

“I was. To a point. But I was equally scared he would push you away from me.”

  “What do we do now?”

“Oh, querida, there are so many directions that question could go.” She felt his chuckle, but knew it to be sardonic. “We have to leave. We need to get Michel away from Paloma while his emotions are so tattered. He can face her later, when the time is right.”

  “Paloma?”

“The woman we saw at the train station. Michel has a past with her, one that was not kind to him. But it is not my place to tell you that story, but his.”

  “Where will we go?”

“Alain has a home in Germany, in the mountains. It was an ancestral home that he rarely goes to. The Illuminati are not familiar with it, that we are aware of. We will leave at nightfall. Thierry will be coming with us as well to help protect you. Others in the Order will convene there over the next few days. It’s time to circle the wagons, as you Americans say.”

Kadence felt some ease at that. Four big strong men to protect her. Good odds. Not that she didn’t think Gabriel would do everything in his power to save her. She knew he would without him ever saying the words. Although she was not looking forward to more travel. More trains, planes, and automobiles…if she didn’t see any of them for weeks, she would be happy.

“But you really didn’t answer my question earlier. What do we do now? I’m not talking about logistics here. You—me—Michel—this was a major thing. And you didn’t want me with him. But I had to do this.” Kadence wasn’t sure she should even press it. She knew there was no answer.

“I know. I can’t really answer you, querida. I know you did what you felt you needed to, even though I wish I’d been enough for you. I feel strongly for you. I want to protect you from the world. I care for you. Can’t that be enough?”

  “It is. Enough.”

“Live in the moment. We will follow it down the path it leads us.”

Kadence sighed. It was enough. It wasn’t promises of forever, but she didn’t want that. They barely knew each other. She wanted to know he wanted her, felt for her, as she was beginning to feel for him. That it was more than the sexual exploits they shared.

Although, the sex was worth sticking around for too.

Gabriel rolled out from under her and walked into the bathroom. She heard him turn on the faucet and then the splashing of water. Moments later, he came out, two towels in hand, one of which he used to dry himself. He lovingly wiped her clean with soft caresses with the other once he reached the bed.

As if reading her thoughts from moments before, he crawled back into bed and rolled over her and into the cradle of her thighs. “I believe we were interrupted earlier this morning?” He slowly began to slide into her.

A moan escaped her lips at the intense feel of his thick cock sliding into her. He felt so right, so good. She had soothed Michel, and now Gabriel soothed her. She was exhausted from the
last experience, but she understood Gabriel’s need to wash away some of what Michel had just done to her. Gabriel slowly built a tempo, completely the opposite from her last two encounters.

Reigning kisses all over her face, he moved to her cheek, her chin, until his cock slipped from her. As she was crying out from the loss, he continued further, trailing his tongue and lips down her body. He cupped a breast, sucked a nipple deep and then the other, making her body arch to get closer. Not stopping, he slid more, until his head was between her splayed thighs.

His mouth worked over her tender flesh, kissing away the rough play. Fingers gently entered her and slowly rubbed against her g-spot, making her dizzy with need. He quickly brought her to orgasm, her low cries bouncing off the plaster walls.

  But he did not stop.

His mouth continued to taste her, lapping up her essence as it eased from her body. Within mere moments, he brought her to the edge again, her pussy squeezing tightly against his fingers as her body trembled with satiation.

And again he did not stop.

His lips targeted everywhere, from her inner thighs to her sensitive clit, and all spaces in between. He was ravenous for her, unable to get enough. His fingers slowly scissored within her and she crested yet again, her body wracked with sublime pleasure.

He mounted her then, wrapping her rubbery legs around his waist as he entered her on one resolute thrust. His kisses tasted of her. He was drunk on her flavor and shared it. Holding him tightly, she followed his lead and let him take her over the edge yet again, a thick finger circling her clit to bring her to the edge.

She drifted off into blackness, sleep demanding her completely.

  Chapter Fifteen

Kadence awoke in the car at the airport, as they stopped on the tarmac. She was not quite lucid, completely confused as to how she’d slept through packing and a trip to the airport. How’d she even get into the car? She looked around at the stern faces of the men surrounding her, trying to get her bearings.
