He was grinning at her. Shit. He knew she was staring at him, and he was enjoying the attention. Just like him to be an arrogant ass.

“The art piece,” he said. “It’s supposed to be Aphrodite in lust, at least that’s what the artist said when I bought it from him.”

“Oh. It’s very...sensual. I get the lust part.”

  “I thought you might.”

Was he teasing her? She was in no mood. They had work to finish.

“You should get dressed,” she said.

He looked down. “I am dressed.”

  “Your shirt is still open.”

  “I got hot.”

“Well, cover up. It’s not sanitary to be naked around food.” She made her way to his kitchen, which was huge. He wasn’t kidding about them being able to work in it. How had she missed it last time? Right, he distracted her with mind-blowing sex, the kind to make a person forget their own name let alone remember the loft’s layout plans.

She cursed herself for thinking about it. Even now, she remembered what it was like to be so close to him, feeling his breath tickle her skin. Wetness made her close her legs tight. She was not going to pine after him.

“I’m not naked,” he said. “I just took a shower. All clean and sanitary. Want to inspect me to see?”

She turned to tell him she wasn’t interested in inspecting any part of him, but he was so close that he brushed up against her. How did he move up to her so fast?

He took her hand and placed it on his bare chest, right above his heart, which she could feel beating under her palm.

She could barely breathe as he guided her hand over his skin. He was warm and still a little wet, a contrast that made him sexier than any man she had ever seen or touched and more distracting than he had any right to be.

“This is crazy.” She could barely recognize her own voice. “We need to get started with the chocolate.”

He shifted so he was up against her. He pressed into her, and she could feel his hardness as if it were out and ready for action. Damn him.

“You don’t have to be in control of every situation, Tonya,” he said. “You can relax and enjoy yourself.”

“I don’t try to control every situation. I just like being able to oversee the things I create. That’s all. If anyone’s a control freak, you are.” She shifted under his stare. Before she could turn back to the counter, he put his hands on her shoulders.

“Why do you always try to start an argument with me?” he asked.

“I don’t always argue,” she said. Her voice didn’t even sound convincing to her.

“Yeah, you do. You’re doing it now.”

“I’m not your biggest fan, Hudson.”

  “Tell me why.”

  “You know why.”

“I was an asshole. I admitted that. I owned up to it.”

“I know, and I forgive you. It’s just…I’m having a hard time trusting you. You don’t really have a good track record with women.”

“How do you know that?” He cocked his head and smiled even wider. “Did you check up on me?”

He was teasing her, and she wasn’t in the mood. “No,” she said. “It’s not like that. I just like to look up people I have to work with.”

  “Find anything interesting?”

“The photos of different women told me all I need to know.”

“That’s not who I am anymore.”

  “Since when?”

He stared down at her, and his blue-green eyes went dark. “Since meeting you.”

He was good. She could give him that. He was a smooth talker. No wonder he was a good businessman. He could probably sell ice to people in Antarctica.

“Let’s just start with the chocolate for the bride from hell, okay?” She pulled out the essentials she’d brought with her from her bag. Then she felt his hand on her back. It moved up higher as he spoke, making her body shudder with need.

“What if I told you I regret that night?” Hudson asked.

She couldn’t stop the look of hurt that consumed her face and was thankful she hadn’t turned to look back at him. He couldn’t see her true feelings. She couldn’t show weakness. Not in front of him. “Of course you regret it.”

“No.” He sighed, frustration filling his tone. “This isn’t coming out right.” He turned her around so she had no choice but to look up at him. “You’ve got it wrong, Tonya. I regret the way I treated you and how I made you feel by kicking you out like you were just another lay. I don’t regret making love to you.”

“I think you mean sex. That’s all it was.”

“I know what I meant, and it wasn’t just sex. It was more than that.”

“Why are you telling me this?”

“Because I don’t regret being with you. Damn it, woman. You’re all I think about even now.”

She couldn’t breathe as he pulled her up against his chest. Even after everything, she found him to be irresistible. He was like a magnet, and she couldn’t pull away, even if she tried with all her strength.

“I hate that I hurt you, but I’m not making that mistake again,” he said. “I’m done talking.”

Tonya had no time to question him, because his mouth was on hers before she could say a word. His lips were fierce and persistent as he forced her to open up to him. She felt the hardness of him press into her, and she moaned into him.

“The chocolate,” she whispered when they came up for air.

“Fuck the damn chocolate,” he said. He lifted her into his arms as if she weighed nothing.

She didn’t protest, not in the way he carried her to his room or how they fell onto his bed, entangled with each other.

He went back to kissing her again, and she forgot all the reasons why they shouldn’t be doing it. All she could feel were the hard muscles of his body pressing into her, the bulge in his pants grinding into her. She was crazed, and only he could bring back her sanity with each caress.

His hand slid up her body until he cupped her breast. Her nipple pebbled against her shirt as he glided his thumb over it. She parted her legs to get him closer to her and feel every part of him.

She didn’t want to think. All she craved was the sensation, and he gave it to her.

Her panties were soaked, and they weren’t even naked yet. This was what he did to her. Her frustrated in so many ways, and now her body needed the release only he could provide.

Hudson pulled away to shrug out of his shirt before helping her pull hers over her head. His lips found the sensitive part of her neck and nibbled there until she moaned. He kissed the tops of her exposed breasts, giving her sexy chills all over.

He slid her bra down until her breasts spilled out.

“Lovely,” he said before he took a nipple in his mouth.

She arched up into him and he added more pressure as he suckled her. His hand found the other exposed nipple and squeezed lightly until she cried out.

His hands slipped behind her to unhook her bra. It took maneuvering, but he was back to kissing her skin as if he’d never left it.

Hudson trailed kisses down her body until he got to her jeans, which he unbuttoned and shimmied off of her along with her panties until she was bare before him.

“I need to taste you, Tonya,” he said, his voice almost a growl. “Been waiting so long to taste you.” He leaned down and kissed her inner thigh.

Each kiss warmed her to her core, and he had her panting with each one.

When he finally delivered the first kiss to her pussy, she shook with the sensitive touch. It was too much but at the same time not nearly enough.

He slid a finger inside her, and she gripped him tight, not wanting him to leave her. When he added another finger, she pulled him in deep and raised her hips to move closer to his caresses.

He lapped at her core. As he found her clit, she rolled into her first orgasm. She slid her fingers through his hair, holding on for purchase. He never pulled away from her as evidence of her excitement poured out of h
er.

She screamed until she didn’t recognize her own voice, and the room spun into a web of colors he allowed her to see. Only Hudson could work her into this form of pleasure, and she wasn’t sure she ever wanted to live without it again.

  Chapter Six

  Hudson

Hudson had been wrong. Tonya was even better than he remembered. Her caramel skin glowed from the aftershocks of pleasure. She tasted better than the chocolate they created. She was the sugar-sweet nectar he’d dreamed about, and she belonged to him.

He wasn’t going to let her forget that simple fact. His. Her body was his, and craved everything beyond that. All she could give him, he would take willingly.

She reminded him of that Aphrodite statue she had been infatuated with. The goddess of love had nothing to compare with the passion written on Tonya’s face. Pride filled him knowing he was the one to put that expression there, and if he had it his way, it would never leave her.

When he was satisfied with having his fill of her, he slid off the bed and undid his pants. It was time to sink deep into her until the entire world disappeared. Everyone else could go to hell for all he cared as long as it was just him and Tonya in that moment.

Hudson slid back over her tempting body and couldn’t help but be enraptured by her. He was enchanted by her, and he never wanted to go back to how he was before having her.

He reached into the drawer and felt for the foil packet. He wasn’t gentle when he ripped it with his teeth. Enough time had passed for him not to be inside of her and wasn’t wasting any more.

  “Hudson,” she sighed.

The simple sound of his name on her lips made his cock jerk. He was so hard that hoped he could enjoy her long enough to send them both off the edge of passion.

“I know, baby,” he said. “Hold on.” He slipped the condom over his length and turned back to her. It didn’t take long to find her inviting opening, still slick with her juices. He wasn’t done with her, not by a long shot.

He took his time as he slipped the head between her soft folds. Her moaning weighed on his concentration, and he prayed he could drag out his time with her. He’d waited so long that he needed to enjoy this moment.

Their first time together had been quick and intense. This time he wanted to experience all of her until he had a deep memory of every part she offered up to him. Inch by inch he sank deeper into her until he was as far as he could go.

He allowed her to adjust to his length and girth, waiting for pleasure to overtake any pain she could have. Her fingers dug into his shoulders to pull him closer, and he knew she was ready for him to move.

He pulled back with the same slow pace he’d entered her and pushed in fast, shifting the rhythm of each thrust. The moans escaped her lips until he captured those with his own, taking each sound of her voice into himself.

She was part of him. Everything that she was, he wanted to possess and take over until she thought of nothing but him and the pleasure only he could give her. With each pull back, she gripped his hardness tighter, making it hard to leave her.

Each push forward was like coming home to a warm embrace. He shifted his hips and changed direction, hitting that sensitive spot deep inside of her.

Her nails dug into his skin, but the slight pain only urged him on deeper until he felt her body tremble beneath him and her wetness surrounded him.

“So close,” he whispered, not sure how much longer he could hold out. He tried to savor each second inside of her until he couldn’t hold back.

It was a train exploding inside of him, one car pulling the next, making him spent. He rested his weight on his arms, keeping himself from hurting the woman who’d become the most aggravating yet addictive part of him.

Hudson rolled off of her and slid the condom off before tossing it in the small metal trash can next to his bed.

He pulled her in close, wanting the feel of her from head to toe.

The quiet lulled him to calmness and his eyes felt like heavy weights needing rest. He could sense Tonya’s heartbeat against his own, two different beats syncing into one tempo.

  “Hudson?” Tonya asked.

“Sleep, baby,” he said. “We’ll think about the rest later.”

She didn’t answer, but he was relieved when she cuddled closer to him. He didn’t close his eyes until he heard her breaths even out to prove she’d fallen asleep in his arms.

When he woke up, he heard the sound of his shower running, and Tonya wasn’t in his arms. That needed to be corrected.

Steam billowed in his bathroom, and he spotted the outline of her. Her humming of a Mariah Carey song flowed over to him. The sight of her behind the frosted glass was too tempting to resist. Already he was hard for her. It was like he hadn’t just had her a few hours before.

She jumped when he opened the shower door.

“Don’t stop singing on my account,” he said. He grinned at the gorgeous and wet prey before him.

  “You’re up,” she said.

“That’s not the only thing that’s up.”

Her eyes moved to his hardness before meeting his eyes. “Again? So soon?”

“Not nearly soon enough,” he said, pulling her to him and letting the water spray over him.

He cursed himself for not bringing protection with him, but he could satisfy himself with another helping of Tonya. That was all he needed to get off.

Although he eventually carried her back to his bed to get his fill of her, he still wasn’t satisfied. Maybe he was addicted to her after all.

“We can’t just stay in bed all weekend,” Tonya said. She sat on the side of his bed in one of his shirts. It was too big for her, but she looked amazing wearing his clothes. It was even better when he could take it off her.

“I’d keep you here all day and night if I could,” he said, staring up at her from the bed. He wasn’t getting up until he had to. Besides, he was convinced that he could lure her back into bed with him somehow. His head filled with possibilities.

“Oh? How exactly do you plan on doing that?” she asked.

He thought of all the creative ways he could keep her in his bedroom. Then he remembered something he bought a while back ago but never had the chance to use.

He reached into his nightstand. When his fingers found the cold metal, he took out the handcuffs and placed them on the nightstand for her to see.

She stared at them without looking up at him. “What are those for?”

  “A symbol.”

She finally met his eyes. “A symbol for what?”

“One day you’re going to trust me to put those on you. When you do, I’ll show you that submission isn’t about being weak. It’s about having strength enough to let someone else take control of your pleasure. When that happens, I’m going to show you I can give you something no other man ever will.”

  “Hudson—”

“No arguments, Tonya. Just keep it at the back of that wonderful mind of yours.” He silenced her with a kiss before pulling back. “Now, let’s fix this chocolate monstrosity before I find other ways to keep you in my bed.”

He pulled on his jeans and made his way to the kitchen without mentioning the handcuffs again. She wasn’t talking her way out of anything else for as long as he could keep her there with him.

The sooner they started the McKnights’ chocolate statue, the sooner he could get back to exploring Tonya.

  Chapter Seven

  Tonya

Tonya paced back-and-forth, while she rubbed her hands together. She had never been more nervous in her life, but she had a good reason to be. Knowing that the McKnights held their company’s future in their spoiled hands had the ability to make anyone nervous, including her.

“Tonya,” Hudson said. He blocked her way and pulled her into his arms. “You’ve got to calm down, or you’re going to drive yourself insane.”

“What if she hates these too?” she asked. “Then what?”

“She won’t. These samples are even better
than the first set.”

Tonya glanced over at the row of creations they’d spent hours making. Hours when they weren’t in Hudson’s bed.

They’d created everything from chocolate birds to Bluehaven landmarks all made out of Hudson’s chocolate hybrid mixture. They’d painted everything in an array of colors using edible cocoa butter spray. Her favorite was the mountainside they’d created. It resembled on of the town’s popular mountain destinations with the base of a river flowing around it. Tonya thought that was their masterpiece, but knowing the bride, she could possibly hate everything again.

“No matter what, we’ll figure it out. Breathe.”

She took a deep breath and inhaled his scent. He smelled like spices mixed with warm, blue skies, if something like that could ever be bottled up and used as cologne. His smell calmed her, and she found herself snuggling up close against him, her nervousness slipping away from her. God, he smelled good.

The last thing she should probably be doing was get close to him, especially after her weak moment the past weekend sleeping with him. Okay, more like multiple weak moments, but she hadn’t planned it, and she wasn’t sure how to interpret it.

Were they together? Was it casual? Did she even want a relationship with him after their brief and tumultuous history together?

He’d surprised her by being kind and all alpha male in how he took her. It was like seeing two parts of him she didn’t know existed. They barely knew each other the first time they hooked up, and now that she was getting to know him, she didn’t know how to take it.

She must have tensed up or something, because Hudson’s hands went to her back and rubbed there, calming her mind and body back down.

“Don’t worry,” he said. “I’ve got you.”

That was new, but she didn’t care. It felt good to be in Hudson’s arms, and she didn’t want to leave them.

She looked up at him and found him staring at her. His eyes were tender and welcoming, but something else rested behind them she couldn’t quite place.
