Talking to local police and telling them where to find this asshole of a human being we just took down.

“You know I didn’t mean any of that stuff, right?” I asked.

She giggled. “Even if you did, I know you said what you did out of worry for me. Thank you for being strong enough to do what you had to do.”

I kissed her forehead. “Ready to get the hell out of here?”

She sighed. “I might need a doctor first. He clocked me pretty good in my head, and I’ve been sick to my stomach ever since.”

Link patted my shoulder. “There’s an ambulance on the way if you want to wait.”

I peered over my shoulder. “Thank you for not killing me on the spot.”

He grinned. “Don’t worry. You’ll be cooking me some dinners, too.”

All of us had a good laugh at that before I gazed back down at Hannah.

“What do you want? An ambulance ride to the hospital or a ride with me?”

She smiled. “Why don’t you drive me to the nearest hospital? Then, I get the best of both worlds.”

I nodded. “That, I can most certainly accommodate, beautiful.”

The doctor clicked on his pocket light. “Open wide.”

I stuck my tongue out as he examined down the back of my throat.

“Well? You see anything?” Ash asked.

The doctor chuckled. “This is just preliminary. We’re going to want to hold her for some tests just to make sure there’s nothing going on like internal bleeding or anything.”

  I blinked. “What?”

The doctor gripped my chin. “No talking.”

Ash interjected. “You think she’s got bleeding inside of her?”

The doctor shook his head. “We won’t know until we run the tests. But she’s been pretty beat up. Though, there’s some preliminary good news.”

He let go of my chin. “What’s that?”

The doctor smiled. “I don’t think you have a concussion.”

Ash wrapped his arm around me. “What about her nausea?”

The doctor shrugged. “Could be from stress or from a constant adrenaline rush. If our bodies have more adrenaline in it than it can sift through at any given point in time, it gives us things like headaches and nausea. It’s easy to mistake those symptoms for a concussion, especially if there’s been a blow to the head of any sort. We’ll run a test just to make sure, though.”

I sighed. “How long will I be here?”

The doctor slid his light back into his breast pocket. “I’d say you probably won’t be released until tomorrow morning. We’ll want to monitor you just in case things go sideways. Now, are you sure we don’t need any police here?”

Ash shook his head. “They’ve already handled it and taken our statements. I can get you the case number, if need be.”

The doctor shook his head. “Nope. Just making sure we don’t need to call on our end.”

I leaned against Ash as the doctor left through the curtain he came through, then he helped me lay back down. The I.V. wiggled around in my hand and made me wince. Every part of my body hurt in some way, and I was ready for some drugs. Some heavy, heavy drugs. And as I looked up at Ash, I saw him smiling down at me.

Which caused my mouth to run away with me again.

  “I love you so much.”

He smiled. “You’re a remarkable woman, you know that?”

I shrugged. “I try my best.”

The stay at the hospital seemed longer than just one day. They ran so many tests that I grew concerned there was something more wrong with me and they just didn’t want to say anything definitive yet. But the tests finally stopped, and a nurse came in around nine that night to list off all the things that were wrong with me.

“Well, you’ve got some bumps and bruises. Two of your ribs are bruised, but not fractured. Also, the doctor was right. You’ve got no concussion, but you do have a pretty nice knot on the back of your head. Your pinky toe is also broken, so we’ve taped that to the adjoining toe to try and keep it stabilized.”

Ash took my hand. “Is there any internal bleeding?”

The nurse giggled. “Oh, no, no. If there had been any of that, she’d be in surgery by now. What the doctor wanted to do was make sure there wasn’t more than what we saw on the surface. And it seems there isn’t.”

  I sighed. “Thank God.”

The nurse closed the folder in her hand. “I’m going to write a recurring prescription for pain medication as well as an anti-inflammatory. Both will be good for two refills, and if taken at the exact specifications, that’ll get you three weeks. By then, the pain and the swelling should be down enough to where you aren’t in constant pain like you are right now.”

  I smiled. “I appreciate that.”

Ash spoke up. “Does that mean she can go home in the morning?”

  Home.

The idea of going home with Ash made my heart soar.

“Yes,” the nurse said as she nodded, “she’ll be discharged in the morning. We’ll make sure to have you guys out of here before lunch time.”

Ash stood. “Thank you so much for everything you guys have done.”

The nurse nodded. “My pleasure. That’s what we’re here for. And if you guys need anything at all through the night, just press that big red button on her bed. It’ll summon the desk, and someone will come running.”

I nestled back into the hospital bed and promptly fell asleep. And all night, Ash stayed by my side. I woke up to him kissing my cheek. I smiled as he fed me my breakfast. He peppered me with soft kisses and doted on me as if I were some sort of invalid. And while he hadn’t said those three little words back to me, I saw them in his actions. Felt them in his kisses.

I knew this man loved me.

And I knew I’d love him for the rest of my life.

The doctor eventually discharged me, and Ash whisked me away to his place. I clung to him on the bike ride home, resting my swollen cheek against the leather of his jacket. I loved this man. I loved everything about him. And I loved the fact that he called his home, my home. It made me wonder what might come of us, eventually. It made me wonder if he’d offer me a permanent place in his home.

You’re getting ahead of yourself. One step at a time.

It was hard to contain myself, though.

It was hard to contain anything around Ash.

“So, what do you say to some Chinese? Maybe a bit of egg drop soup?” he asked.

He parked his bike in front of his place before helping me off the back.

“I think that sounds fantastic. Some soup and some lo mein. Easy stuff to eat, you know?”

He grinned. “My thoughts exactly. Let’s get you inside and I’ll place the order for delivery.”

  “Ash?”

  He paused. “Yes, Hannah?”

I looked up into his eyes. “Could I sleep in your bed? Just for a bit?”

He chuckled. “I’m sure as hell not putting you in the basement right now with the condition you’re in.”

“Well, what if I wasn’t in this condition? Would you still let me stay there?”

He cupped my cheek. “I’d give you the world if you asked for it.”

My heart warmed with comfort. “You’re perfect.”

He chuckled. “Hardly. But I do try my best.”

He led me inside and into his room where I promptly stripped myself of my clothes. They smelled like blood and disinfectant, and I wanted to burn them more than anything. I tossed them into Ash’s hamper and crawled into bed, feeling his heated gaze against my body. And after sliding beneath the covers, I looked over at him.

Watching as he stripped down to his boxers.

  I grinned. “Loving the view.”

He winked. “Trust me, I’ve got a better one.”

My cheeks flushed as he crawled into bed beside me. And together, we placed our order online for Chinese food. Lunch and dinner.

  “Just in cas
e we don’t leave to go get food or anything,” he said.

I snuggled against him as he sank beneath the covers. I closed my eyes and took a small nap against his chest, relishing the comforting heat of his body. I heard the doorbell ring and he shifted around. I peeled one eye open and moved off to the side, knowing it was our food that had arrived. Oddly enough, I wasn’t hungry, though.

  At least, not for food.

“All right,” Ash said as he came back into the room, “we’ve got soup, lo mein, orange chicken, and white rice. We’ve got crab rangoons, extra fried rice, and sesame chicken in case you want some protein. I also ordered us some of those sugary donut things, and I’ve got a gallon of iced tea. I’ve also got some fruit we can put in it, if you’re into that kind of thing.”

I smiled at him. “Why don’t you come back to bed for a bit?”

His eyes found mine. “Aren’t you hungry?”

I licked my lips. “Not for food just yet, no.”

He mindlessly set the bag down before sliding back into bed with me. And as he rolled me over onto my back, I felt protected by his presence. His entire body cloaked me like a weighted blanket, and even though I figured it might hurt, it didn’t. His forehead touched down against mine, allowing me to breathe the air he afforded me. His lips brushed against my own, teasing me as my nipples puckered. I already felt myself becoming wet between my thighs. My clit swelled, my tight panties already brushing against its tip.

  “Ash, please,” I whimpered.

His lips found my ear. “I’ll be gentle. I promise.”

I felt his open-mouthed kisses against my neck, and I groaned in satisfaction. My legs parted as he kissed along my chest, marking my breasts as his own. He raked his teeth down my stomach, making me jump as giggles fell from my lips. And when he finally seated himself between my legs, I peeked down at him.

Watching him, as his eyes darkened with lust.

  “You smell divine,” he growled.

My head fell back to the pillow. “Do with me what you wish. I’m all yours.”

He nibbled at the excess of my inner thighs and it made me moan. He slid my legs over his shoulders, propping my hips up to feast upon my lower lips. He pulled my panties off to the side before his tongue softly lapped at my entrance. I heard him swallowing. Growling. Enjoying my taste. But when his tongue pierced my folds, he slid up.

Until he flicked the sensitive tip of my swollen nub.

  “Oh, Ash.”

He sucked it into his mouth. “Mmmmm, Hannah.”

I gasped. “Oh, just like that. Oh, yes, baby. Mmm, so good.”

I slowly rocked my hips as his tongue flitted against my clit. My breaths came in short spurts as I gripped the sheets, holding on for dear life. His tongue grew thicker between my pussy lips. He pressed firmer against my clit. I rocked steadily against him, seeking out my pleasure as my eyes rolled into the back of my head.

And ironically enough, all the pain I felt in my body slowly fell away.

“Ash. Ash. Holy fuck, I’m so close. So close. Oh, yeah. Right there. Right there. Right—the—Ash!”

My legs pulled taut and my back arched. My hands gripped the sheets so tightly I heard them ripping away from the corners of the bed. His tongue lapped at my swollen clit as he swallowed down everything I had to offer him. Gulp by gulp. Until my back collapsed and my legs went limp.

Then, he kissed my tired pussy.

“I love you so much,” he murmured.

  My eyes ripped open. “What?”

  He chuckled. “What?”

I leaned myself up. “What did you just say?”

He looked deeply into my eyes. “I love you, Hannah. So very, very much.”

Tears rushed my eyes. “Oh, Ash.”

He raced up my body and crashed his lips against mine, allowing me to taste myself against his skin. I wrapped my arms around him and rolled him over, straddling his thick dick as it pressed through the opening of his boxers. I rocked my pelvis against his own. My juices slicked his cock as I sucked his lower lip between my teeth. He growled while his hands explored me. He gripped my waist as I pushed myself upright. I felt powerful. Strong. Fearless, and proud.

And as I swiveled my hips, allowing his cock to slide inside, my scattered world slipped back into place.

“I love you so much,” I moaned.

He gripped my hips tightly. “I love you, too. I love you, Hannah. Don’t ever forget that.”

And while I’d never forget the sound of those words on his lips, I sure as hell forgot about our food.

  Ash

The morning sun looked too dazzling against her skin not to kiss. The way her breasts bounced as she rolled over enticed me too much to let them sit there. I peppered kisses along her shoulder and down the valley of her breasts. She shifted beneath me as I climbed on top of her body, hovering over her like a beast in heat. She groaned as her eyes fluttered open. I settled my pulsing dick against her wet pussy lips. And when her eyes met mine, she smiled.

“Any last words?” I asked playfully.

Her hands fell against my chest. “You better make me coffee after.”

  “Of course, my love.”

With one fell thrust, I sank deep into her. And the moan that fell from her lips spurred me on. I snapped my hips against hers, feeling her slick coating me with each pound against her body. Her nails curled against my muscles. Her legs lazily locked around my waist. I dipped my nips down and lapped at her pert nipples, feeling them pucker to peaks I wanted to suck. So, I did. As the headboard bashed against the wall and her body jumped for my viewing pleasure, I sucked deep red marks against those tits of hers. I couldn’t get enough of her. I needed more of her than ever before.

“I love you. I love you so much,” I growled.

My lips kissed up her chest. They attached to her neck as my tongue licked up her pulse point. The way her body opened up to me as she laid there, accepting my intrusion, was more than I could have ever asked for. I wanted her for the rest of my life. I needed her for the rest of my days. I wanted nothing more than to wake up to this beautiful woman and make love to her until we were both spent and covered in sweat.

Before showering together and caving once more.

  “Ash! Holy fuck!”

I grunted. “So. Close. Just. A little—”

  “Ash!”

  My hips faltered. “Oh, Hannah.”

My toes curled as I shoved my cock deep inside her one last time. My balls pulled up so tightly I thought they’d suck themselves right into my abdomen. And as her pussy massaged my dick, spurts shot from its tip. Pump after pump of sweet, hot arousal that—once again—marked her as my own.

  My Hannah.

The woman who had become the love of my life.

I collapsed against her, panting as her hands ran up and down my back. I’d never had a woman that could take the weight of me against her after making love. But Hannah could. Her body caught my own in the voluptuousness of her curves and it stopped my heart in my chest.

Everything about this woman left me breathless.

  Hannah giggled. “Morning.”

I kissed her shoulder. “Good morning, beautiful.”

“I hate to ruin the moment, but uh—”

“Oh, oh, oh! Yes. Fuck. I’m so sorry.” I quickly rolled off her and reached for her medication. “Uh, one pain med and one anti-inflammatory, right?”

She rubbed my back with her hand. “You got it.”

“Let me go get you some water to take with these.”

I popped open the pill bottles and set out one of each for her to take. Then, I slid out of bed and padded my naked ass into the kitchen. I started a pot of coffee before grabbing her a glass of water, then headed back into the bedroom. I walked into the room and found her sitting upright, the sheet slipping away from her body with each movement she made. Her breasts swung beautifully for my eyes to behold. Her body jiggled with curves that made my mouth water. I watched her place both
pills on the tip of her tongue as I walked around the bed, feeling her eyes case my body.

“Damn it, you’re sexy,” she said.

I grinned, handing her the water. “I do my best.”

She took a sip, swallowing back the pills. “So, what are your plans for the day?”

“Well, after I get cleaned up, I have to head to the Iron Horse. I’m sure the guys want to know how you’re doing, and I’ve got some work to get done.”

“How long will you be gone?”

I sat on the edge of the bed. “My plan is to get my ass back home just after lunch. Which means I have to get this show on the road.”

She nodded. “Well, I’m sure this medication will knock me back out, so don’t be shocked if you come home and find me sleeping.”

I tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. “You sleep as much as you want. I won’t disturb you.”

  “Like you just did?”

I chuckled. “You loved it and you know it.”

  She winked. “Maybe a smidge.”

I cupped the back of her head and brought her forehead to my lips. I kissed it softly, listening as she sighed with content. Then, I tucked her back in bed. I pressed a small kiss against her cheek as her eyes fluttered close, and already the pain medication had swept her under.

“When you wake up, there will be fresh coffee for you,” I whispered.

  “Mhm.”

“And help yourself to anything in the fridge.”

  “Yeah.”

I kissed her ear. “Night, beautiful.”

She murmured at me. “Good day, Ash.”

I snickered as I stood up before I looked at the clock. And I realized I didn’t have time to take a shower. I smiled at the idea of going to work with Hannah still coating my cock, and it made me feel alive. It made me feel like a real, strong man again. Virile and wanted, with a purpose in life.
