He sighed while rubbing his eyes, then continued to watch.

Chapter 14 – A Light in the Darkness

We were transported back to the Central Union, at the same hotel from the last time we were here. There stood the adults and this bald man, wearing all white and had wings coming out of his back and was wearing sunglasses. He looked like an angel.

“Hey guys!” my mother said, greeting us.

Her face changed, as she was looking at Ansel was a curious face.

she then asked us, “Who is this?”

“This is Ansel. She’s a witch that we met, recently,” I answered her.

My mother then smirked and replied, “Oh, wow. I’ve heard about a town of witches and warlocks, but I never got around to look into it.”

“Who is that?” Kaido asked, pointing at the man

Vlaykre spoke, “Tana, this Obris he is from the Heaven Realm. He is also-”

“…One the Casts,” I finished for him. The adults looked at me.

“How do you know that?” Ryuu asked.

I explained, “Ryder told me. I asked him after our last fight.”

“Really? Well, I guess you would’ve found out sooner or later,” my mother said.

Obris crossed his arms and added, “I also helped with getting you to that hospital you were just in. I was on my way to see you, but you had just finished that major fight. So, I figured, I would let you rest first. Good job taking down Valstrath.”

“So, you must be…the ‘Good Cast’ or maybe the ‘Undecided cast’?” I asked Obris.

  “Wait, what?” Obris asked

“He is the ‘Undecided Cast’,” my mother answered, then chuckled.

“Really? I was hoping to see the ‘Good Cast’. Still, it’s an honor to meet you, though,” I said, smiling.

My mother then walked closer to me.

She then said, “Tana, Obris is going to teach you to control your shadow powers.”

“So, you’re the one who is going to train me?” I asked Obris.

He nodded, “Yes, we are going to the Heaven Realm. The Creator has created a time room where time moves as fast as Abeyance. So, you won’t be gone for too long,” He explained.

  “What about us?” Vlayru said.

“While she is away, the rest of you will train more,” My Mother answered.

“I will take Kaido. Did you want to come with us, Ansel?” Vlaykre said.

She answered back, “That would be great. I definitely need training in fighting. I’ve been solely relying on using my powers to defend myself.”

“I agree with that,” Kaido responded to Ansel.

I then asked the adults, “Before we go, what else has the rebellion been doing, other than attacking us?”

“Well, they recently recruited more soldiers from the Thunderlands military and stole weapons from their base. There were some causalities too. Regan and I went to help with clean up after the fact. We didn’t know the raid happened until after the fact,” Ryuu answered.

  “Damn them,” I responded.

  Kaido started to look around.

“By the way, where is Regan?” Kaido asked.

Kaido and I after I realized he wasn’t there.

“He went off with to Roc Domain with Ayla to investigate the people who are being killed by vines. I dropped them off there right before I grabbed you guys,” Vlaykre answered.

Ryuu smirked and put a hand on Vlayru’s shoulder.

“Son, did you want to train with me now?” Ryuu asked Vlayru.

Vlayru knocked Ryuu’s hand off his shoulder and turned to him with a look of anger on his face. Ryuu’s face changed to a concerning look.

Vlayru yelled in his face, “I don’t want to learn light powers, damn it!”

He started making his way to the door.

  “Vlayru!” I yelled towards him.

Vlayru halted for a moment. He turned to look at me. He looked angry, almost menacing.

“Tana, you don’t even know how I feel. What it’s like to have parents who don’t even listen to you and somehow know how you feel. Then, just assume what is best for you!” Vlayru argued.

He got a huge smile on his face and looked crazy. Ryuu looked confused, angry, and upset all at once. He leaned towards Ryuu and said.

“Still so weak,” He said in a dark tone.

Vlayru held his head, groaning in pain. He ran out of the room and down the hall. I tried to run after him. Ryuu, who was turned towards the door, put his hand up to stop me. I came to a quick stop.

Without looking at me, he said, “Leave him be.”

I looked at Ryuu and saw a tear roll down his cheek. I looked down and sigh. I turned to look at Ansel and she looked upset. The adults looked like they saw a ghost or something.

My mother then spoke, “Was it just me or did he just talk like-”

Obris then interrupted, “-He is going have to figure it out on his own. I’m sorry for being blunt, but we need to Tana focus on her training.”

Vlaykre responded, “He’s right. We all have something to focus on.”

“Are you ready Tana?” Obris asked me.

  “Yes, I am,” I replied.

My mother walked up to me and gave me hugged.

“Bye, Mother,” I said to her, looked at the others and continued, “I’ll be back.”

I walked up next to Obris and climbed on his back. We then flew out of the window and up into the sky. The wind was blowing hard at my face as we flew fast. As we approached the clouds, they moved around us forming a sort-of tunnel that spun around. We got through the end of the cloud tunnel and we ended up in a place on top of the cloud. It looked beautiful because the ground was all clouds and had blue clear Skies. I looked around, as we flew over spirits roaming around. There were houses made of clouds and spirits coming in and out of it. We then landed in front of a big dome building.

“This is It. let’s go inside and I’ll explain the Shadow Form more,” Obris said and we entered the building.

The room was actually a desert plain with clear blue skies. No trees, plants, mountains, nothing, just rough ground with some sand.

“Wow. This is amazing.” I said in awe.

Obris walked forward a few steps

With a smirk, he said, “This perfect for Shadow Form training.”

  “Why?” I asked him.

“In case you lose control you would be trapped here. I’m the only one who knows where the door is. Don’t you worry though because I have mastered my Shadow Form. Being an angel also makes it to where the Shadow can never try to take me over. basically, if you lose control, I can take you down.” he explained.

“The door is behind us though,” I countered, as I turned.

There was no door. The door seemed to have disappeared. It was just more desert. It made me worry a little bit. I then started to wonder about how he is a cast.

“So, if you are a cast, how are you an angel? Shouldn’t you be trying to keep the world balanced?” I asked him.

“Yes but that’s not why I was created. I’m supposed to be the right-hand man of the Creator and a leader of the Angel Army when he needed it. Which why I’m a captain and 2nd in command under Ryder. Plus, we are still human, just with extra DNA,” He explained.

“So, you led the angels in the last war?” I asked him.

“No. I led the demons. I also had some help from a man named Yazerix. The whole war was because of me though. After that, I became a fallen angel, seeking revenge. I was so mad at the Creator for admitting to putting me on a path of anger, depression, and revenge when I was created. It was all just to do what was expected of me. The Creator knew my older brother was going to die in the invasion war. That I caused pain for my younger brother Radikus for not being there for him when he needed me.” Obris explained.

“Wait, Radikus is your brother?!” I said shocked and with wide eyes.

Obris nodded, “Yes. I know you killed him and I’m not mad at you. Radikus knew what he w
as doing. I tried to stop him, but he had just found Master lightning’s orb at the time and didn’t want to listen to me. I can’t blame him after I mistreated him so bad.”

“Well, I’m still sorry. How you became an angel, though?” I asked.

Obris smirked, and replied, “Well I fought Sabre and lost to him, as the creator hoped. the war ended with the death the creator by me. The creator was resurrected, thanks to Sabre. I realized my error and the Creator forgave me and gave me my angel form again.”

“Wow. The Creator really is really forgiving. Another question, who is Yazrix?” I wondered.

“He’s Vlaykre’s older brother, who was Master Physic. He was killed and put in Vlaykre’s family burial cave. That’s until he escaped. He now resides locked inside Vlaykre’s mind, but at the time he took control of Vlaykre’s body and fought against Sabre and his friends.” Obris answered.

I looked down puzzled and said, “Wait, but Ansel has that power now.”

“Really? That is interesting. He never had offspring. I’ve also never heard of an elemental power re-emerging in another, though it’s not out of the ballpark. Vlaykre, Ryuu, and Regan were the first to have their powers with no family member prior having the power. Normally the dominant gene of the parents is passed along, containing the element power. For example, you got water abilities because of your father. The Creator must have something in mind if he was to continue to have Physic powers exist in the world.”

“That makes sense. So, you’re the ‘Undecided Cast’ which definitely makes Sabre the ‘Good Cast’,” I asked him.

“Yes, but enough of all the questions. Shall we start the training?” Obris asked back.

I answered back, “Oh, yes. Let’s do this.”

“Ok, we let’s begin. First, an explanation. You know what gives you your Shadow Form power, right?” he asked.

“Yes, it’s the shadow that is lock inside you,” I answered.

“Yes. Only Casts can accomplish this. Each Shadow Dweller has a different personality to them, or theme let’s say.” he explained, then asked.

“Yes, mine is a Chupacabra, I believe,” I answered him

“Interesting. Well, now that you understand that and let’s move on to the next thing. The shadow will try to take over when you start to have negative feelings, especially strong ones like rage because it feeds on these emotions and you could end up destroying things you most cherish. You have to control your emotions, and when you do you will control of the shadow. I am going to get you extremely angry and set you over the edge. It’s your job to control yourself, got it?” he explained and asked.

I nodded and answered back, “Yes.”

“Ok then, get ready,” He said and transformed into his own Shadow Form.

I couldn’t tell because his clothes did not change but he had his mask on. I wondered if it’s because he is an angel or because he has mastered his Shadow Form.

Spex paused the playback. He thought for a moment about everything so far and compared it to his own memories though his memories were kind of fuzzy. He was puzzled.

“I’m having a hard time remembering the differences. I wonder how Regan and Ayla are doing,” Spex said out loud.

Spex pulled up the playback of Regan and Ayla. They were in a hallway inside a building. They were making their way down the hall slowly and examining the plant vines that were all over the walls, ceiling, and floors.

“This didn’t happen before. I have a bad feeling about this.” Spex said.

  Chapter 15 - Plants

Spex appeared out of his aura once again. He looked up and saw that the sun was shining and the sky was clear. He turned around saw the building that Ayla and Regan were in. it looked like a research building. There were multiple floors and there were vines everywhere, coming out of different broken windows.

He looked around and saw a broken window that he could climb through. Spex quickly made his way over to the window and snuck in through it. He saw an open door on the opposite side that was open. Looking around, he saw lab equipment.

Spex whispered, “That confirms it then.”

He snuck his way quickly through the open door and into the hallway. He took a few steps. There was a noise that Spex heard coming from above him, and it made him halt.

“They must be above me,” Spex said quietly to himself.

He felt something behind him and there was a plant creature that was one of the vines and had a mouth that was slowly opening. It snarled, as it got ready to lunge at him. It had sharp teeth and there was what looked like saliva drooling off it. It lunged quickly at Spex and he quickly did a backflip to avoid the vine’s hard bite. Spex landed in a crouched position. He reached into his robes and pulled out a handle. A long piece of metal folded out and created laser edge on one side. It was glowed purple. He lunged towards the vine and the vine lunged towards Spex, and Spex twisted in the air and sliced the vine in half. Spex landed in a crouched position again. the vine flopped around in pain then stopped dead.

He got up, continued his way down the hallway, and up the stairs he found. He got up to the third floor and heard the noise again. It came from the same floor he was on. He ran towards where he heard where the noise. It became clearer and it turned out to be the noise of people fighting. He heard it from one of the rooms nearby. He stopped before the door opening and peeped around the corner.

Regan and Ayla just finished cutting down the vines. They both looked beat up and tired. There was a girl standing on the other side where the vines were coming from.

“Master Plant,” Spex said under his breath.

She had medium length blonde hair with the sides shaved, black and green clothes, and woman slip-on shoes. She smirked and gave a slight chuckle.

“Have you given up, yet?” the lady said, smiling big.

Regan raised his sword up in a ready position.

Ayla followed and said, “Not until you’ve given up first.”

A plant with a closed flower slithered like a snake and the plant stopped close to the woman and the flower opened up revealing a pearl.

“I don’t know about that,” The woman replied in a sweet voice and innocent voice, “I like my new jewel. Giving up would mean I would lose it, and I don’t want that.”

Regan then asked, “What kind of plan was stealing the jewel from the queen of the Roc Domain? All it did was draw attention to yourself.”

She continued to smirk and explained, “I would have successfully blamed it on Emperor Rumus of the Dark Empire if you didn’t get in my way that is.”

Ayla got flustered and asked, “We stopped you from carrying out your plans. So, you decided to kill people?!”

The woman answered, “You forced my hand, so I had to kill everyone here, to protect my prize.”

The woman gave another chuckle and Regan ran towards her, readying his sword to swing at the woman. Several vines came whipping towards him and he was able to cut them in two. Suddenly, a giant flower with teeth smashed through the floor and closed around Regan quickly, trapping him.

  “Regan!” Ayla yelled.

Ayla ran fast towards the woman. More vines came from behind and wrapped around her ankles. Ayla put her hand up and waved it across herself. A large gust of wind blew towards the woman knocking her back, along with vines around her. She hit the wall behind her hard then fell to the ground. Spex then got a wide- eyed look on his face.

  Spex whispered, “That’s…new.”

The vines that were wrapped around Ayla’s ankles released. Metal spikes shot out of the giant flower. The flower then opened back up and Regan fell to his knees, panting. He was covered in slimy, runny looking saliva.

Ayla was panting and asked, “Regan, you okay?”

Regan took a deep breath, “Yeah, I’m good. Let’s get the jewel.”

He got up and they both slowly made their over to the woman. Regan tried to get someone of saliva. The woman looked like she was having a hard time trying to get up. Spex wondere
d if she injured a part of her body or broke a bone. Regan held up a sword that he created out of metal from his hand to her face.

Regan spoke, “Where is the jewel? Hand it over, now.”

  The woman sighed, “Fine, here.”

More vines shot at them and impaled through their bodies. They yelled in pain.

  “Damn it. No!” Spex yelled.

He stood up to run towards them to help, but suddenly a massive pain shot up to his head. He fell over with his hands on his head and blacked out.

He looked around and he was outside. It was night time and there was snow on the ground. There was also old, abandoned buildings around him. He heard a sound of commotion going on nearby. Spex made his way to where he heard the noise.

He saw Sabre running. He looked pretty young. He was wearing sunglasses, heavy flex armor, armored pants, boots, and his signature beanie and side cape that went down to about his knees. He stopped, looked around then ran into one of the buildings nearby. Suddenly Sabre was fighting someone that looked familiar to Spex, but he couldn’t remember his name. the man was grotesque looking. he was wielding a giant sword and was shooting Ice Blasts at Sabre, who was deflecting them back. Sabre was knocked back hard by one of the blasts and then was stabbed by the man.

  “Sabre!” Spex said aloud.

“Spex, are you okay?” said an unknown voice.

Spex opened his eyes and was laying on the floor back in the hallway of the building where he collapsed. He felt groggy, but looked over and saw a man kneeled over him, with a worried look Spex got up cautiously.

“It’s me, Spex. It’s Icarus. Remember me? Master Sand?” He said.

Spex searched his memory and started to remember.

“Oh, yeah. Icarus, what are you doing here? You’re not supposed to show up yet,” Spex asked him.

He replied, “You don’t remember sending me back in time to help Sabre?”

Spex tried to remember for a few moments.

“No, I really don’t, sorry,” Spex said.

Icarus sighed, “Well, we’ll talk later about it. Looks like we have other issues going on.”

Spex nodded as Icarus helped him up. They walked into the room and looked around and didn’t see the woman with Plant’s power, but found Regan and Ayla hoisted up against the wall.
