Another head lunged and made contact, biting Poseidon across his middle. He cried out and fell to the beast’s back, and Kiiara screamed when she saw more blood spurt from his side. “Noooo!”

She scurried as far to the edge of the boat as she could to try and see better. Poseidon wasn’t moving. She screamed again as her mind shattered, and her vision blurred.

Please be okay, she silently prayed as her breath caught in her chest, and she struggled to release it. Her skin prickled and her head pounded as she watched for any sign of life in the powerful man she’d come to care far too much for. Finally, Poseidon rolled to his side, telling her he was alive, and she exhaled her relief.

Another wave crashed against the serpent, distracting the beast. Poseidon lunged and grabbed another head. Prying its jaws wide, Poseidon didn’t let go until the head split into two and the second head met its demise.

Kiiara felt the tide turn in their favor when Poseidon charged the serpent holding his trident captive. As soon as his hand wrapped around the staff of the gold weapon, the brightest blue light she’d ever seen pulsed from the weapon, and the trident began to vibrate.

Lightning surged from the weapon, and Poseidon swung out, beheading the last two serpents with one swift move. The beast slipped beneath the ocean, and the dolphins leaped from the water in jubilation. Two swam to Poseidon’s side, offering the god their service.

The ocean calmed, and the boat steadied. Kiiara got to her feet and jumped up and down. “Hell yes! You kicked ass. I knew you would win. The sea is your house, Poseidon,” she shouted, pumping her fist in victory.

He met her gaze and smiled. God help her, she loved the Greek God and was eager for him to know it, whether he felt the same or not. She couldn’t hold it back any longer.

“Poseidon,” she yelled as loud as she could but then his smile quickly vanished, and he frantically pointed behind her.

Confused, she turned around and saw Hain stalking towards her.

Poseidon’s heart dropped to his feet when he saw Hain appear from nowhere. He’d been so distracted by Kiiara’s victory dance and excitement that he didn’t see Hain climb aboard the boat.

“If you scratch one fucking inch of her body, I’ll rip you to shreds!” Poseidon roared as he charged forward, gripping his trident while riding the tails of two dolphins.

When he leaped to the deck of the ship, Hain lunged and grabbed Kiiara around the neck in a chokehold. She was facing Poseidon, and Hain used her body to block his. The fear glimmering in her eyes tore Poseidon’s heart in half. He was the God of the Sea and was powerless to save her at that moment.

Hain reached behind his back, and Poseidon glimpsed a flash of silver before Hain placed a blade to Kiiara’s throat.

“Yield the power of your trident to me,” Hain barked, pressing the knife into her skin. Blood trickled from her neck, and Poseidon’s stomach dropped to his feet. The ache in his chest was painful, and his breathing was coming out in rapid puffs.

Holding up a hand, Poseidon tried to hide his fear and anxiety as he motioned calmly. “Hain, be reasonable. I cannot give you its power. The trident must accept you of its own accord. I will give it to you, but that’s all I can do. Here, take it. Just release the woman,” Poseidon offered and hoped Hain didn’t hear the desperation to his plea.

“Don’t you dare give him the trident,” Kiiara murmured on a choked breath. “Go to hell, you piece of shit,” she gritted and thrust an elbow into Hain’s stomach.

Hain bent at the waist but didn’t release his hold on Kiiara. Poseidon charged, but before he could reach them, Hain brought the blade above his head then plunged it through Kiiara’s chest. She slumped to the ground in a heap, and blood flowed from her wound.

Poseidon roared, unleashing his fury and shouted to the Gods. Lightning struck across the sky and sheets of rain punished the sea as thunder boomed through the heavens. Poseidon gripped the trident, sending all his strength to the weapon allowing it to gather before he hurled it at Hain. The blue energy pierced Hain’s skull, and Poseidon was there in the next instant, ripping what remained from Hain’s shoulders. Poseidon tossed the flesh and bone to the ocean, then threw Hain’s body overboard.

Poseidon slumped to his knees, gathering Kiiara in his arms. Blood poured from where the knife lodged in her chest. Her eyes were closed and he didn’t detect any signs of life.

Pulling her close, he cursed himself. Why didn’t he tell her how much she meant to him when he had the chance? He wanted to tell her he loved her more than life itself and that his existence meant nothing without her. She was his everything.

Salty tears filled his eyes, and he looked to the sky as rain pelted his face. “Noooo!” he cried out in denial, and silently prayed his immortal life would end. He didn’t want to go on without her. Life with her was vibrant, full of color, laughter and love. The future was grim without her.

A yellow glow caught his attention, and his heart stopped in his chest. Eyes wide, he glanced at Kiiara’s slack face and cocked his head to the side. The heavy weight lifted from his shoulders and the future looked up…if he got this next part right.

A hand wrapped around the hilt of the dagger as his heart and mind cleared of anything, but his love for Kiiara. Emotion bursting from every cell of his being, he took a deep breath and let it out.

“The Gods bless this woman who is pure of heart and soul. Her beauty and integrity will bring hope and meaning to many,” which was more than he could say for his fellow Gods and Goddesses, “she is my light. I cannot live without her. She has earned her life,” Poseidon declared with pure intent.

Vibration at his chest had him releasing his hold and looking down to Kiiara’s chest. The weapon glowed, enhancing the detail of the handle. It was encrusted with metal snakes, and the pommel was a yellow cabochon. It was Tavi’s sacrificial dagger.

Hain must not have realized its power when he stole it from her. Poseidon watched as light emitted through the handle and spread down the blade and across Kiiara’s chest. Poseidon reached down and jerked the knife from her flesh and Kiiara bolted upright, clutching her chest and panting.

The wound to Kiiara’s flesh healed instantly, and Poseidon grabbed her in his arms, squeezing as hard as he could.

Kiiara hugged him back, whispering, “Will you please tell me what the hell just happened?”

Poseidon laughed and clutched her tighter. His Kiiara was alive. Better than alive, actually.

“What started as a nightmare has become a dream come true. I don’t know how to tell you this,” Poseidon muttered and pulled away. He brushed the soaking hair from her face as he met sky blue eyes that melted his heart.

“You can tell me anything. Just say it,” she implored and he lightly touched his lips to hers.

“You’re immortal,” he declared, and lightning cracked, illuminating the sky overhead.

“Come again,” Kiiara muttered, certain she had heard him wrong.

“You’re immortal, Kiiara mou. Hain stabbed you with Tavi’s dagger. When used, the Gods determine the outcome of the sacrifice made. Hain didn’t know its purpose and power,” Poseidon explained as he caressed her cheek.

Gone was the indifference she’d felt from him all day. The Greek God she had fallen for was back. Kind, gentle, and loving. She wanted to bask in the moment for eternity, and, according to Poseidon, now she could.

“Are you telling me I’ll live forever?” she asked, shocked by the information he shared as if it weren’t life altering. She supposed in his world stuff like that happened all the time, but for her it was outrageous.

“If someone doesn’t behead you, yes,” he answered with a grin.

“Are you threatening me, Ocean-Man?” Kiiara teased.

“I’ll make you a deal. Stop calling me such ridiculous names, and I promise your head will stay attached.” Poseidon smiled and leaned down to kiss her.

Electricity zapped between them upon contact. Cold rain showered d
own, but Kiiara’s body heated as Poseidon’s hands roamed over her flesh. His mouth parted and his tongue licked her lip, wanting inside.

She moaned, obliging his request. Their tongues tangled as their breaths turned to pants. Her hands explored his broad arms and shoulders before cupping his face, fingers running through his beard.

“Make love to me,” she murmured against his mouth. The excitement and near-death experience had her emotions high, and she needed him more than ever.

  “Here?”

“In the water. I want to feel you inside of me as you introduce me to your world.”

Poseidon broke the kiss, and stormy eyes met hers. His sea-green depths touched her soul and arousal raced through her veins. She loved this man with all her heart and would follow him to the ocean floor if he asked it of her.

He stood, then picked her up before leaping from the boat into the water, cradling her in his strong arms as they broke through the surface. The waves were choppy, and the rain continued to beat against them. Thunder rolled and lightning danced across the sky, but she wasn’t afraid. She knew her Greek God was in control and no harm would come to them during their storm of passion.

Before she could contemplate how they were going to remove the wet clothes, they were gone. Being with a God had its benefits, she thought. Poseidon’s connection to the sea and Kiiara took control. Her body thrummed with anticipation. Poseidon pulled her close, and she wrapped her legs around his waist. She felt his hard length press at her entrance, and she thrust her hips, taking all of him in one long stroke.

Kiiara gasped as he filled her. The pain was excruciatingly painful but pleasurable. Her pelvis circled, adjusting to his size and soon they were engaged in an erotic dance with the ocean as their bodies took what they needed from one another.

“I thought I’d lost you,” Poseidon panted as his mouth moved from her lips along her jaw to her earlobe. “I don’t ever want to feel that way again. There are so many things I feared I’d never have the chance to say,” he whispered.

Stilling her hips with his hands, Poseidon met her gaze. “I love you, Kiiara. I think I fell in love with you the very first day. And if you’ll have me, I vow to spend eternity showing how much you mean to me.”

Tears filled her eyes as her heart exploded with joy. She didn’t know until that very moment how much she needed to hear those words from him.

“Oh, Poseidon. I love you, too. I’ve never felt like this before and was prepared to spend the rest of my life loving you even if we were apart. I’m the luckiest woman in the world. In any world. Yes, I’ll have you. I’d like to have you now if you’ll start moving that sexy ass again,” she murmured and grounded against him as much as his hold allowed.

Kiiara felt his cock jerk against her womb, and she giggled. “See, even your long trident agrees.”

“Trident, huh? I like that. Watch out because I’m about to spear the fuck out of you,” he joked and began moving in and out of her welcoming body.

He lowered his head to take a nipple between his teeth, sucking and pulling. She arched, enjoying the incredible feeling. This man knew how to play her body until she was begging for release. How he managed to keep afloat and pound her at the same time, Kiiara had no, idea but she decided not to question it and enjoy the ride.

It didn’t take long before they were wild with need. Kiiara’s climax hit first, and she bucked against his body as she shouted her release. Poseidon quickly followed, roaring to the sea that she belonged to him.

The storm calmed as their orgasms waned, and Poseidon tenderly kissed her as he held her to his chest while they floated in the cool water.

“What would you like to do now?” he muttered against her mouth as he continued to caress her bottom, keeping them afloat.

Kiiara broke the kiss and looked at the sea-green eyes that were her world. “Well…if we don’t have to return the boat until tomorrow, how about we spend the night making love under the stars,” she suggested with a smile.

“You’re reading my mind, Kiiara mou,” he replied and claimed her lips again. Saltiness filled her mouth as she sucked his bottom lip, ready for more of her sexy Greek God.

Poseidon gazed at the sleeping beauty by his side. He had made love to Kiiara until she couldn’t take anymore and fell asleep in his arms. There was something about this female he couldn’t get enough of and knew he’d never tire of pleasuring her.

Waves kissed the boat, and it swayed in response. He and Kiiara were down below in the bedroom, but he could hear the ocean calling to him. Moonlight trickled in, highlighting Kiiara’s beautiful face and nude body. She was perfect in every way, and he couldn’t wait to take her to his home.

The thought reminded him they needed to return to his world soon. He glanced at his trident against the wall, remembering what brought him to this place. The weapon was back where it belonged. With him.

As much as he despised Hain for stealing it, he was also grateful. It led Poseidon to the amazing woman in his arms. Lowering his head, he kissed the tip of her nose, then her cheek. He lightly placed his mouth on hers, and sugary sweetness burst across his lips.

Startled, Kiiara jolted but relaxed when she realized it was him. He deepened the kiss, needing more.

“Again, so soon?” she whispered, and he nodded his head as he continued to explore her mouth, sliding his tongue against hers.

“Soon? I’ve been dying over here,” he murmured against her mouth and pressed his hard length against her leg.

“Oh, poor baby. Let’s see what we can do about that,” she offered and rolled across his body to straddle his hips.

“Now you’re talking,” he confessed as she began rubbing her breasts seductively. So fucking sexy, and his cock jerked in need at the sight.

Her hand slipped between her legs, and she swirled a finger across her clit. “I’m ready for you,” she moaned and placed her finger on his lips.

He opened his mouth and sucked her juices. Her taste filled his mouth, teasing him. His cock was so hard, it was on the verge of exploding onto the sheets.

“Please, Kiiara, I need to be inside you. Now,” he urged when she gripped his shaft with both hands and stroked.

A sinful smile spread across her face. “Like this,” she moaned and pressed the spongey tip at her opening.

The overly-sensitive head leaked pre-cum, aching to push further. “Yes, fuck yes. Fuck me,” he growled desperately.

Kiiara slowly slid down, taking every inch of him. Poseidon thrust his hips upward until he was fully seated. He was desperate with need and couldn’t be gentle.

“Ah, yes,” she moaned, and her head fell back as she continued squeezing her breasts. His hands gripped her hips, and he shoved deeper into her tight sheath. Their bodies moved together, smoother than an ocean current.

Poseidon’s hand slipped between her legs to the spot he loved most. His thumb pressed and rubbed against her clit, causing her to buck and grind with his movements.

Her ass moved back and forth, and she clenched down, milking him as she pulled and twisted her nipples. The sight sent him over the edge, and an orgasm barreled through his body. He shouted as hot seed exploded from his cock, filling her womb.

Poseidon pinched her clit, and she detonated around him, shouting his name. He loved hearing her cry out his name. She collapsed on his chest, breasts mashed against his flesh. Cupping her face with one hand, he claimed her mouth as he continued massaging between her folds. She shuddered and moaned while he kissed and nipped her lips until her climax subsided.

“My God, what you do to me,” she panted when her body finally relaxed. “Please tell me it will always be this incredibly satisfying.”

“My plan is for it to get better. We have until the end of time, and I don’t want you to get bored with me,” he professed, hand moving to rub circles on Kiiara’s back.

“Not likely. I imagine our days will be adventurous but our nights even more so. I can’t wait to see your home beneath t
he sea,” Kiiara confessed and leaned on one elbow to stare at him.

“What about your family and friends?” Poseidon asked. There was no place for them where they were going, and she might never see them again.

“My family is gone, and my friends consist mostly of my Marine buddies. The only one I’ll truly miss is Kevin. He’s like family. May we go see him first before we leave? And I’d like to grab a few items to take with me,” she said, and Poseidon saw a tear form in the corner of her eye.

He brushed it away with his finger and tenderly kissed the spot. He never wanted to see her sad. He would do whatever necessary to see that she was happy and content.

“Of course, my love. And I want to hear all about your parents, your childhood, your military life, and what led you to fishing at sea. I want to know everything about your life up until the moment I met you,” he muttered and ran his hand over the tattoo on her shoulder blade. She shuddered under his touch, and the sensation traveled up his arm and to his soul. She was a part of him.

“I feel the same. There’s so much we don’t know about each other, and I feel like we need to cram it all in during one day,” she commented, playing with the fine hairs on his chest.

“We have an eternity to get to know one another, and I look forward to memorizing every detail,” he husked as he ran his hand down her side and across her luscious ass. “After we visit Kevin, I want to return Tavi’s dagger to her. It’s the least I can do since she led us to Gabriella,” he admitted, and Kiiara laid her head on his chest.

“I go where you go,” she whispered and hugged him tightly.

“Kiiara mou, you have made me the happiest God alive. We will rule the ocean together. Forever.”

Kiiara looked up and one corner of her mouth lifted. “Unless you fuck it up,” she said with a wink and smiled.
