I shrugged. “Hey! Don’t judge me! It’s Pipe’s fault.”
With a huge grin spread across her face, Cynthia headed over to Jay and giggled. “You both are so much fun. Let’s do it, Jay. Let’s jump in.”
“Cynthia is growing on me. At first, she seemed really quiet, but maybe it takes time for her to open up.” Pipe floated on his back, letting his elephant’s trunk wobble in the waves. “I think I kind of like her.”
A twinge of jealousy knotted in my stomach. It was such an immature feeling to want to have Pipe only like me and not be friends with her. And if I was being real with myself, my annoyance with Cynthia had more to do with Jay caring for her. It made my fingertips itch to push out the cat claws and start scratching like women did when they fought each other on TV. I couldn’t do it, though. Cynthia never did anything to me and couldn’t help that she fell in love with Jay.
Why not change the game when it comes to love and be less of a bitch to the competing chick?
“Come on, Jay.” Pipe slammed his hand against the water. It sprayed me and caused drops to scatter around us. “Are you scared, Jay? Is that what it is?”
Oh goodness. Did he have to say it that way?
Jay directed his attention my way and pulled off his shirt. “No. I’m never scared.”
Oh goodness.
Chapter Eight
Evie
The four of us splashed around. The water concealed our nude bodies enough that we’d gotten over the oddness of it all in the first few minutes of Jay and Cynthia joining in. Pipe initiated a trick competition where we showed off the many swimming skills we possessed. Pipe displayed how long he could stay under water.
Owning the only waterproof watch among us, Cynthia timed him and announced with shock, “Eight minutes. Oh my God. Eight minutes!”
Pipe jumped up. “Who’s next?”
He didn’t even have the decency to gasp or pant.
Such a show off.
“I only have my mermaid trick. I’m all out of anything else.” I’d volunteered first doing a swim where my feet stayed together and served as a tail. I pretended to be a mermaid, flapping my tail at everyone. Pipe hadn’t been impressed, but at least Jay and Cynthia clapped. I pointed at the couple. “Jay and Cynthia. You both are next.”
It was the first time I’d turned Jay’s way. His slick skin glistened from the reflection of stars. His hair lay flat and away from his face, allowing for all his facial features to be more distinct and clit-clenching seductive.
Damn him. Can’t he look like crap, wet?
I bit my lip, yearning to rub my body all over him. Suddenly, the foolishness of us all hanging out in the water dispersed into the heightened desire to be alone with him. He turned my way and caught my gaze. The smile that had been on his face faltered into parted lips and a tongue that traveled over his lip.
Pipe cleared his throat, signaling that he caught the moment between us. “What can
you do, Cynthia?”
“I don’t think I have any cool tricks like you all.” She combed her fingers through her wet strands. When she was dry, she’d resembled an adorable blonde pinup girl from back in the day. With her body saturated in cool ocean drops, she became a straight man’s wet dream. Her full breasts rode the waves, making an appearance with the movement of water every now and then. Perky nipples glistened in the moonlight. How Jay’s hands were not all over her was beyond my logic.
How could he even be looking at me when he had her?
The answer came to me lightning fast.
She’s not sleeping with him. Meanwhile, I’m willing and waiting. Is that what it’s all about?
I sighed and pushed those insecure thoughts out of my head.
No. It couldn’t be.
“Are you a fast swimmer?” Pipe paddled closer to her.
“I’m pretty fast. I was on the swim team in high school.”
“Oh shit!” I chuckled. “You’re keeping secrets from us, Cynthia. All this time you’ve been holding back.”
“Race!” Pipe jumped up and banged his chest. “I’m going up against Cynthia. I’ve already confirmed I can beat you two losers. There’s no need to waste my time.”
“What the hell?” I pouted. “I almost beat you last time.”
“You lost, Evie. Get over it.” Pipe splashed some water my way, getting it into my eyes. The salt burned a little.
“Alright. Pipe and Cynthia will race. I’ll count,” Jay offered and swam over to me. “Why don’t you all make it difficult? Swim far out there to the first buoy.”
Off in the distance a red light blinked. It must’ve been a good mile or more away.
I squinted to get a better look at where the buoy was located. “That’s too far away.”
“No, it isn’t. I’m down.” Pipe exchanged glances with Jay, one that signaled they were doing something suspicious and sneaky. I wasn’t sure I liked where this was going. Pipe turned to Cynthia. “Are you cool with that?”
“I don’t know. That’s pretty far out there. I’ve done a swim like that before, but not in the dark.”
“Yeah. I don’t like the distance to the buoy. I don’t want you both to do a race. Why don’t you all do a short one?” I asked.
“Where’s the fun in that?” Jay glanced my way with heat in his gaze. I cleared my throat and inched away from him.
“It’s completely safe to swim that far. How about this?” Pipe stretched his arms. “If Cynthia wins, I’ll take her and everyone else out to the most expensive restaurant in town. You can order whatever you like.”
Cynthia quirked her eyebrows. “And if I lose?”
“Tonight, during our slumber party, you have to perform my favorite scenes from
The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Don’t worry if you don’t know the words. I have the music, DVD, lyrics written down, and even the costumes.”
“Is he serious?” Cynthia turned to Jay who’d been staring at me. It caused me to inch away some more, if only to prevent him from copping a feel and Pipe from wining our bet. So far, Jay had come in the water like Pipe predicted, but once in, Jay had kept a decent distance from me. We probably had twenty more minutes or so before the bet was off.
“Yeah, Cynthia. Pipe is always serious about The Rocky Horror Picture Show.” I nodded. “Granted, he’ll probably make us watch that mess regardless, but at least if you win, you won’t have to participate. And he’ll make good on his side of the bet.”
“So you’ll pay for any restaurant?” Cynthia faced Pipe.
“Any spot you can think of. My credit card practically has no limit.” Pipe rolled his shoulders, preparing to race off. “Come on, Miss Swim Team. Let’s see what you got.”
“Okay. I’m down.” She hurried to his side.
“Evie, could you hold my hat for me?” He slung the nasty thing my way. I caught it.
“Eww. It’s probably full of seaweed and dead things. I’m not just going to stand here and hold this.” I tossed it over to the sand.
“What the hell? That’s my lucky hat.”
“It’s also dirty and smells.” I stepped forward to join them at the starting line.
“Alright. I’ll count.” Jay captured my waist and pulled me back before I could reach Pipe and Cynthia.
The ocean hid his hold on me. From Pipe and Cynthia’s view, it probably appeared like I was just standing in front of him, but not too close. My heart banged against my chest, so loud I figured everyone could hear it. I didn’t risk speaking. Anticipation wiggled its way into every pore. My skin tingled. Just one of his hands on my flesh triggered violent reactions between my thighs. I squirmed a little and inched back until the curve of my behind met the point of his erection.
Pipe winked at me. “You owe me fifty dollars, Evie.”
Damn it. How did Pipe realize Jay was touching me?
“Why?” I feigned ignorance.
“You know why.”
“Okay, Jay.” Cynthia glanced over her shoulder, not noticin
g what was going on between us. “Make sure your friend doesn’t cheat.”
“I will.” Jay’s voice sounded gruff. He pressed his cock against the middle of my behind.
This was so wrong. We shouldn’t be doing this so close to her. In fact, we shouldn’t be doing this, period. Not until they break up.
I tried to wiggle away. His grip tightened on my waist.
“Go ahead, Cynthia and Pipe,” Jay yelled. “I’m starting the count. One. Two. Three.”
Cynthia and Pipe raced off. Jay wasted no time. He spun me around and devoured my lips. My hard nipples pushed against his rock-hard chest. He glided his hands to the curve of my behind and squeezed. His fingers slipped between my cheeks and tickled the opening of my anus.
I shrieked and climbed out of his arms. “What are you doing?”
“Fingering your ass.” He prowled toward me.
I splashed water at him. “I don’t like that.”
“You sure about that?” He dove my way, so fast I didn’t even have time to react. We both crashed into the sea. Waves and a current of cool water wrapped around us. I held in my breath. Kernels of sand skimmed past my skin.
Jay seized my body and held me in his arms. By the time we rose to the surface, I had my legs tight around his waist and my arms on his shoulders. We both checked Pipe and Cynthia. They still raced forward, their hands and arms rising from the surface and then slamming back in to propel them forward. Their feet kicked up, leaving a trail of foamy liquid and bubbles behind.
“We shouldn’t do this.” I attempted to climb out of his hold.
“Then why did you take off your clothes?” He held my legs firmly to his waist. “How long did you think I could last with you naked and wet around me?”
“Your girlfriend is right there.”
“Then hurry.”
“Hurry?”
“Yes.” He kissed me, groaning as his tongue tangled with mine.
Oh my god.
I rubbed against him. The swollen lips between my legs slid against his taut pelvic bone as he rocked it into me. His cock planted under my ass, bobbing up and down and slapping the bottom of my cheeks.
Damn it.
I pushed away from him. “Stop. We can’t do this. It’s wrong.”
“I can’t think around you when I’m hard and you’re naked.” He sucked on my neck.
“No excuses,” I panted.
“Let me put it inside you for just a few seconds?” He squeezed my ass some more.
“No. We’re already going too far doing this.” I molded into him, barely able to hold back at all. If he asked me that question again, I would. I’d let him fuck me right in the water, right in front of Pipe and Cynthia.
This is insane.
He sucked on my tongue and pulled back a little so that his cock flopped up between us. I groaned so loud from the pressure and harmony of our two bodies moving together in perfect time. He ground it into my center.
“Oh!” I let my head fall back and gave up on trying to stop.
“As soon as I saw you take your clothes off and rush into the water, I fucking went crazy.” He guided the length of his cock against those hungry lips between my legs. It slid up and down between my folds, separating them a little. “Let me have you.”
I bit my lip. “She’s here.”
“I’ll pull out when they head back. Just please, let me get a tiny taste of how it would feel to be inside of you.”
Turning his back to them, he sucked on my neck, lapped at my chest, and then sucked on my left nipple.
I dug my nails into his shoulders, so overcome with bliss. “Jay.”
He released my nipple and glanced over his shoulder. “Come on. They’re heading back. Just a little.”
I shivered. A tiny giggle escaped my lips. “You said you would pull out when they headed back.”
“I lied.”
He entered me, just like that. He positioned the tip of his hardness at my throbbing opening and pierced me with desperation, groaning, every inch it pushed inside of me.
I spread my legs wider, needing him more than I’d ever known. Everything disappeared around us. His oncoming girlfriend and Pipe were afterthoughts to my desire. I rocked into him. Bursts of pleasure sprang inside my core at the pace of lava spilling out of a violent volcano. This was nothing gentle or sensual. It was hard-edged grinding, rock solid humping as we raced to reach our orgasms before Pipe and Cynthia raced to the finish line.
“Goddamn, you. All. This. Time.” He sliced into me, lifting my body up and smashing me back into him. My breasts bobbed. I screeched. Loud splashing sounded so close, too close in fact.
“Stop.” My voice was more a plea than a determined order. “Please, stop.”
He grunted, checked over his shoulder, and whimpered. “Fuck.”
His cock left me as he set me down. My whole body shook. He leaped back into the water in enough time for me to see Cynthia in the lead, approaching us. Jay disappeared under the darkened surface. She continued on, dedicated to the race. Power coiled around her. She moved through the ocean like she’d been birthed inside a sea shell and living in water all of her life. Several feet rested between her and Pipe. There was no doubt that she’d won.
She reached me and gasped for breath as she rose in the water. “I-I’m…close…to…passing out.”
Guilt hit me. She swayed a little. I caught her in my arms. She hugged me. Her weight almost pulled me down into the water. “He’s…so fast. I thought…I wouldn’t…win.”
Bobbing my head like an idiot, I held her up and kept losing my grip on her. Our slippery bodies slid against each other. It was in that moment that Jay rose. He froze. His heated gaze fell to our breasts as they glided together, my nipples bumping hers. They’d already been hard. Hers too, perhaps from the chill of the sea. She didn’t move away. Even when she stood up and had caught her breath, she remained in my embrace, her short breaths warming my neck.
I should have been disgusted. I’d never been into females, but the throbbing between my thighs hadn’t quit since Jay pushed and pulled between them. My clit craved to be touched some more. My sex longed to be played with, by anyone. I glanced at Jay again.
He hadn’t moved.
She turned his way with her arms wrapped around my waist. “I won.”
“I see.” His voice was darker than usual.
“Where were you? I almost drowned in exhaustion if not for Evie here to hold me up.”
This close to her, her jasmine perfume lingered my way. I released her. She stayed close, continued to watch Jay’s gaze. Anyone would have known what was going on in his mind. Anyone, even someone who’d only known him for a week could see the lust in his eyes. His face might not have said it, but his eyes did. He loved us this close to each other. He loved seeing our wet bodies connected in front of him.
“She’s… a…beast!” Pipe finally arrived. He bypassed us and headed straight to the beach where he then crawled out into the sand and collapsed, choking on air like a fish that had been yanked out of the sea.
“I should go check on him.” I moved Cynthia’s arms away from my waist.
“He’s okay.” She put her hand at the center of my back and tightened her grip on me.
O-kay? Why is she keeping me here?
Our eyes met.
“Why don’t you stay out here with us for a while, Evie,” Cynthia said.
Why?
The question balanced on the tip of my tongue.
“We never really get to hang out. Just the three of us.” She let me go and combed her fingers through her blond strands. Her breasts jutted forward. The pink points glimmered in the moonlight. Jay’s gaze shifted from them to mine. I stirred and covered mine. The whole situation had gone from crazy to mental institution ill as far as I was concerned. It could have been the marijuana I’d just smoked, but the vibe that came from Cynthia seemed odd.
“You look like you’re in deep thought.” She strolled over to Jay and circled him
a little bit, stopping behind him. Her hand glided over his six-pack. It was all I could see, but I knew she must’ve been doing something behind him as he whimpered in pleasure.
“I should give you both a moment.” I turned to leave.
“No, Evie.” She peeked around him. “Don’t go.”
“Stay.” Jay rubbed his lips with one hand. It was his nervous tell. Anytime he did it when playing poker, I knew he was bluffing.
“Why? It looks like you two are having a…couple’s moment.” I continued to shield my breasts with my arms.
“I think we should talk.” Cynthia walked around Jay, got between us, and turned her face his way. “I’m not stupid, you know. I can see what’s going on between you two. I saw it three months ago when you both would hang out on Evie’s side. The first time I got the nerve up to say a few words to Jay, he seemed weird about dating in front of Evie. I spied that weird emotion in Evie’s face right when I asked her if you both were together, and she stuttered out a ‘no.’ I see the way you look at her, Jay, when you think I can’t see. I heard what you told her when I was in the other room and you both were out in the hallway nights ago. I was listening through the door—”
I backed away. “I’m going to—”
“Don’t, Evie.” Cynthia held up her hands. “We’ll have to deal with this eventually.”
“Deal with what?” Jay didn’t look my way.
“The sexual tension between you two. I love you, Jay, more than anybody I’ve ever loved before. But there are things that I can’t give you.”
Jay leaned his head to the side. “What are you talking about?”
“I’m not…sexual like other girls. I don’t…”
Jay raised his eyebrows. “You don’t what?”
“I don’t like sex.”
Now I really should leave.
“But all those times you moaned. Were you faking?” Jay asked. He didn’t seem angry, just curious.
“Yes.” She stared down at the water. “I pretended it felt good. I mean. It all wasn’t bad. I like kissing you.”
“And your phone ringing?”
