Sergius: #4 (Luna Lodge: Hunters of Atlas)

Color started to come back into her cheeks the more she ate, and he was glad to see it. The strange prediction was unnerving enough, but the fact she’d passed out so soon after it was almost terrifying.

He didn’t know what to believe about her, or if she did have any abilities, but he didn’t even want to think about the idea that she might suffer.

A part of him imagined a life with her. Their evenings spent together eating, talking, just enjoying each other’s company. It was something he’d never really thought of much before.

Then again, he’d not been so close to his Vestal before.

He shook himself. Now wasn’t the time to start thinking about those things. Whatever was happening with her, he needed to find out to protect her, whether from other hybrids who feared her or even herself if necessary.

Sergius stood and walked back to the kitchen to get another helping of macaroni. Better to fill his mouth than to say what he was really feeling.

Jade watched as the large man walked back to the kitchen and scooped up more of the macaroni and cheese.

She looked down at her bowl of bright orange noodles. She couldn’t help the smile that spread on her face.

It was sweet. He was sweet. It was a small gesture, but it meant everything to her, especially after the day she’d had.

All her life she had been made to feel like she was second best. With Sergius she never felt that way. He always seemed to know just what she needed and went out of his way to make sure to check on her.

Sergius came back from the kitchen and sat back down on the couch. She watched him for a moment as he ate his dinner.

  “How’s your foot?”

She knew what it meant when she asked him, but she had to know. She had to say something about what had happened. There was no denying something weird occurred, and she didn’t think that Sergius was going to tiptoe around the subject for much longer.

He paused, his spoon midair, and looked over at her. He set the spoon back into his bowl and placed the bowl on the table.

“It’s fine,” he said. “I’m still not sure how you knew, but in the end, I guess I’m glad you did.”

Jade shrugged. She didn’t really know what to tell him, but it was good to know that he didn’t think she had any malice in what happened. She doubted many of the others nearby were as accepting.

“Can you explain it?” he asked her.

“It was out of nowhere,” she said, shaking her head. “It was like watching a movie. I saw you, and then I was moving in real time.”

He didn’t say anything as he watched her speak. She couldn’t tell what he was thinking, but maybe that was for the best. What she was describing sounded insane even to her own ears.

She jumped when his warm hand clasped her own. His large fingers nearly engulfed her.

“Thank you,” he said softly. “I am in your debt.”

She blushed. The warmth from his hand seeped through her like a wildfire. She swayed forward and licked her lips in anticipation of his lips on her.

The burning flame of desire had flared just at this touch. Was she so starved for affection and understanding that such a simple act would cause so much? Maybe her time with the cult had warped her more than she wanted to admit.

His eyes flicked to her mouth, and she knew he could see the desire on her face.

No. She had to get control. This was ridiculous. She barely knew the man.

Jade jumped up and pulled her hand from his. This couldn’t happen. Not now, not ever.

“I really need to go,” she said quickly.

Sergius stood. Confusion rested on his face, and sadness panged through her mind that they couldn’t just see where things went.

Her rational mind reasserted herself and reminded her she didn’t the man, and didn’t really know the hybrids, for that matter.

“But what about dinner?” he asked.

Jade shook her head. “I’m really not hungry,” she said quickly.

As fast as she could, she made her way over to the door and turned the knob. Sergius was close behind her, but she didn’t stop to look at him.

“Thanks for the help,” she said. “Have a good night.”

She stepped out the door and raced down the stairs back to the safety of her own cabin.

  Chapter Five

Jade remembered returning to her cabin and falling asleep, but somehow she wasn’t at all surprised when a strong arm pulled her back against a hard chest. She’d been aching for this for some time now.

She rolled over in his arms and turned to face Sergius, his strong jaw and soft lips closer than she’d ever seen them. He stared at her, his bright blue eyes shining on her from the hazy darkness. Not pausing Jade reached her arm up around his neck and pulled him in for searing kiss.

His mouth was hot against hers. Her tongue tasted the seam of his soft lips as they caressed her own and made her ache deep inside.

Jade deepened the kiss, her tongue sliding between his soft lips. He moaned against her mouth and opened to her. They battled one another, stroking one another in smooth motions. She squirmed against his body, aching for more.

She shuddered when she realized they were holding one another skin to skin. Her soft breasts pressed against his hard chest. Her nipples tightened and scraped along the deep contours of his muscles. The feel of him pressing against her made her center throb even more.

His hands roamed freely over her body, sliding over the silky skin and eventually rested against her bare ass. Sergius pulled her hard against him. She could feel the ridged thickness pressed against her stomach and couldn’t stop herself from rubbing against it.

He grunted against her mouth and pulled back to nip her lip.

Jade swung her leg over his hips to press her hot center against his stiff length. She was wet for him as she slid her aching lips over his length.

Sergius returned to her mouth and rolled over onto his back so he could stare up at her as she slid her aching center over his rigid shaft.

Jade placed her palms flat on his chest and felt the hard muscles there as she moved. Her center began to throb at the need he created in her.

She slid over him, bumping her clit against the head of his cock. With each bump and moan, she quickened her pace.

His hands slid from her hips up to her breasts. His fingers circled her hard nipples, and she hissed loudly when he pinched them between his fingers. She could feel her insides clenching, trying to hold off the orgasm threatening to come.

Over and over he rolled her nipples between his fingers, occasionally tweaking them as he did so. She moaned loudly when he sat up and brought his mouth to her left breast. His mouth covered her as he licked the nipped the sensitive peak.

Her hips jerked fast over him, and she felt her wetness dripping down onto his stomach as she did so.

That only seemed to ignite him more. She pulled his mouth away from her breast and leaned down and placed her mouth against his once again. This time their tongues moved in time with her body as she stroked him, mimicking the hot motions of sex.

Sergius pulled back and gave a deep growl. The sound of it excited her. She couldn’t say why, but it was as if it called to a part of her she didn’t even know existed.

She quickened her pace, bringing her center directly over his head. She wanted to sink down onto him, but even now it just didn’t seem right. Even in a dream she still couldn’t allow herself to have what she wanted from him.

Jade came hard as she bumped his head one last time with her clit. Sergius shook as his seed sprayed out on to her, mingling with her own juices as she continued to slide slowly up and down him.

She shivered as the last edges of her orgasm came over her.

The world around her started to shimmer and shift out of focus. Sergius vanished from her vision, and she was left floating on her own.

Jade woke up from the hot dream. Her body still ached for him, and she could feel the dampness between her legs when she moved. The d
ream had been only somewhat satisfying in the end. Her body ached for him still with a need that couldn’t be satisfied with just a little nighttime adventure.

It wasn’t right. She barely knew the man, and yet she couldn’t seem to get him off her mind. Never in her life had she felt this sort of draw to another human being.

She chuckled. Human being? Could she even call him that at this point? Right now she could barely call herself that, let alone the giant hybrid super solider.

Not that it mattered. She’d take him exactly as he was if things weren’t so complicated. And complicated seemed to be exactly how her life was always going to be.

In her life, things like feelings didn’t really happen, and the idea of a boyfriend was a foreign concept, especially when she was now having weird daytime visions of the future.

She shook her head and sighed. Could she be psychic? It didn’t make any sense. If she had some sort of special powers, she would have noticed before. How could she get into her twenties without remembering or noticing visions of the future?

Something had changed in her, or someone had changed her. But who? The hybrids? The Azilians? A long groan escaped her lips.

Life was supposed to have been better for her, easier. Money troubles she knew how to deal with, but how was she supposed to learn how to deal with strange powers?

Maybe it’d all been a coincidence, or a hallucination brought on by her stressing out over her future. Maybe nothing like that would ever happen again.

Sure, hybrids existed in the world, and the Azilians had shown her some freaky stuff, but she wasn’t a hybrid, or a mysterious cult leader; she was just a woman who needed some help paying her bills.

Her thoughts wandered back to the dream. She let out a dark chuckle. It was enjoyable, more than enjoyable. It’d seemed so real, and, quite frankly, was some of the better sex she’d had, if she were being honest.

But she couldn’t let dream sex distract her from the serious situation she remained in. Her future was still on the line, and a little pasta and friendliness wasn’t going to change that.

A flash of heat passed through her body over the memory of Sergius thrusting into her.

No. No. Not Sergius, just a figment of her imagination. She needed to keep that in mind.

Jade flipped the covers off her hot damp body. The only way she was going to get over this was with a cold shower.

She sighed loudly and looked at the clock. 3 AM. At least if she took one now, she still had a chance to get a bit more sleep.

She slipped out of bed and made her way to the bathroom. She flipped on the cold water and sighed again.

Cold shower and some chocolate, that should do it. Then maybe she’d be able to go back to sleep without having him crowding her dreams and fulfilling all her fantasies.

Fantasies were for fairytales, and her life certainly was no fairytale.

  Chapter Six

Jade didn’t really know what she was thinking. The whole idea had been that she would stay away from Sergius.

She needed to keep her focus until she figured out her situation. Hanging out around the man she was having erotic dreams about seemed about the worse way to accomplish that.

And yet there she was the next day, sitting on his doorstep waiting for him to get home. Regardless of her attraction, she still felt like she owed him for showing her some actual kindness.

After the strange incident, she really needed that kind of connection.

She looked over at the crockpot sitting next to her. She had placed it inside an insulated carrying case and sealed it up so it would stay warm.

A knot twisted in her stomach as she worried over her choice to visit him. What if he didn’t like it? What if she wasn’t as good a cook as she thought she was?

It wasn’t anything fancy, just stew from the things she found in the fridge in her tiny pseudo-house.

Jade leaned back and watched as the last bit of sun disappeared on the horizon. The sky filled with bright orange, red, and yellow. Pretty really, and calming.

A cool breeze passed through the trees, and she shivered slightly.

Heavy footsteps crunched in the leaves nearby. Her eyes scanned the area until she found his piercing blue eyes staring back at her.

Hot images from last night flashed in front of her. Her nipples tightened, and a warmth pulsed from her center.

  So much for keeping focused.

Sergius stood still, and she knew he had seen her before she had seen him. The way he watched her made her anxious to be near him, despite the fact that she knew they couldn’t be together.

She tried to convince herself it was her body reacting to the memory of the dream more than anything else.

They stared at one another for a moment before he looked away.

A twinge of nervousness passed through her, and she worried that maybe he was thinking about their near kiss last night. Just because she had wanted to kiss him hadn’t meant that he wanted to kiss her.

Even if he was being nice to her and keeping an eye on her, that didn’t mean he wanted anything more from her.

“I didn’t expect to see you here,” he said and stepped forward toward the steps.

“I brought you dinner,” she said shyly.

Jade stood up and picked up the pot. Sergius took a few steps farther.

He now stood in front of her, staring at the pot in her hands. Jade handed the bag over to him.

“It’s just stew,” she said nervously. “I thought since you don’t cook often…”

He looked at her for a few moments and then down at the crockpot. She felt butterflies flutter in her stomach as he did so. What if he told her to go away?

“You really didn’t have to,” he said.

Jade fidgeted on the step. She hated being nervous around him, especially when she’d spent most of her night enjoying the dream him to the fullest. Somehow she felt like he must know what she was thinking somehow, like he knew about the dream.

Of course, that was silly. She’d heard a lot about the abilities of the hybrids, and not once had the idea of mind reading ever been suggested. That thought provided some small comfort.

“I wanted to thank you,” she said quickly. She had to get out of there before she made an idiot of herself, if she hadn’t already. “Thank you for yesterday.”

Sergius shook his head and gave a little laugh. “It was just macaroni and cheese.”

Heat spread across her face, and she knew coming over had been silly.

Jade took a single step down on the porch. The faster she escaped, the less embarrassing it would be for both of them.

“Well, I hope you like it,” she said.

Jade stepped down quickly onto the ground but stopped when she felt his hand on her arm. She turned back to look at Sergius.

His blue eyes blazed, and for a moment she saw the same passion she had seen in her dream. The heat from his expression lit her body on fire.

  “Stay,” he said.

His voice was low as he spoke. Her insides twitched at the request.

No. It didn’t sound like a request. It sounded like a command.

  “I’m really not that—”

His fingers caressed the underside of her arm. Little goose bumps spread where he touched her. She swallowed, and warmth pulsed through her body.

“I’d like you to have dinner with me,” he said and stepped toward her.

Their bodies were now just inches apart. She could feel his body heat through her clothes.

Jade took in several deep breaths to steady her nerves. If she wasn’t careful she could easily lose herself to him, that is if she hadn’t already.

A dinner hadn’t been part of the plan, but what could it hurt?

  “Okay,” she whispered.

Just standing next to her, Sergius felt the same heat as he had the night before in his dream. Even if it wasn’t real, it felt real enough.

Her hot sweet curves had been pressed against his. He watched as she ha
d come in his arms and ached for her when he woke. Just having those images in his mind made him burn with lust for her.

He couldn’t dare tell her about the dream. He didn’t want to risk scaring her off, and him talking about wet dreams would probably creep her out.

He also decided to not bring up anything about the strange warning from the previous day. Though his concern lingered over what the hell had happened, any mention of it would be sure to upset her.

Until he knew more about what was going on, if anything, there was no point in pressing her on it.

She’d run off so quickly the night before, just when something seemed like it was going to happen. He didn’t totally understand why, but assumed he’d done something to freak her out.

Sergius pulled his hand from her arm and stepped over to the door. He held it open for her and watched as she walked into his house.

Jade walked over to the couch and sat down. The hybrid took the crockpot into the kitchen and unzipped the thermal bag. He grabbed out two bowls and two spoons and served up the stew into each.

The delicious, mouth-watering smell drifted from the stew. It wasn’t often that he had a real home-cooked meal. And if he did, it was because he was staying with somebody else for the evening, or maybe one of the women had brought over something they made.

Although Sergius wasn’t as popular as some of the other hybrids in the community, he did have a few admirers. He just hadn’t felt a draw to anyone in the community. Not until he’d seen Jade.

Sergius pulled out two beers from the fridge and popped the caps. He grabbed the two bottles and the two bowls to bring into the living room.

He handed her one of the bowls and one of the beers. He wasn’t really sure if she liked it, but it was really all he had.

She took a few drinks off her beer and set it on the table. He watched as her pink tongue darted out to lick the little beads off her pretty red lips.

His cock grew, and he shifted in his seat. He didn’t know how long he could be around her if she was going to be doing things like that.
