“Can you make his favorite drink and tell him the lady at the end of the bar bought it for him?” I asked.

“Sure, but he hasn't lifted his head in over an hour,” he said.

I watched as TJ made the drink, walked it down the bar, said something, and Jay lifted his hand and shook TJ away. When TJ came back, he shook his head.

  “Nope,” he said.

“He's here every day, right?” I asked.

“Yes,” he said. “More lately than ever.”

“Does he always have women hanging on him?” I asked.

“Yes,” he said. “He usually does, but the last night I remember him having one all over him was that one night. You were here. It was the night I watched you grind all over some guy. I think you left with him. I know you left your shoes. That was the only night I'd seen you act that way, but it was also the last night I saw Jared with a woman. Every night since, he's sat at the bar. We've actually had some great conversations. He's more human than I thought he was. Not one woman's been around. Wait a minute.”

  “What?” I asked.

“It's you,” he said. “You're the woman he talks about.”

“I don't know what you mean,” I said.

“I've heard all about this stubborn woman who's a total pain-in-the-ass.”

“You think that's me?” I asked. “Thanks for the vote of confidence.”

“I don't know how I missed it before. He watched you that entire night. When you left with that guy, he shook that woman off of him so fast, as he took off for the door. The rest of the night was miserable here. He snatched your shoes off the floor and went back to the office. How did I miss it? He's been here for a few hours tonight but hasn't said much. I can't believe you're the woman he's been talking about. I've never seen anything or anyone get to him before. You are tearing him down. I hope you think things through before you make any decisions. He can be intense, but he's a good man who really cares about a lot of things. I'm so glad I didn't ask you out before. That would not have ended well for me.”

“Really?” I asked. “What could he do?”

  TJ shook his head.

“Go ask the guy that took you home that night. That was guy was here every night, but I haven't seen him since,” he joked.

“Can you do me another favor?” I asked.

“Sure,” he said. “Anything for the boss' woman.”

I narrowed my eyes at him and gave him my best stern look.

“I can't imagine the two of you in a heated conversation. That would be interesting,” he said.

“Can you take him another drink and tell him the lady at the end of the bar was wondering if she could drive his black Corvette,” I said.

“He doesn't drive a Corvette,” he said.

  “Please do it,” I begged.

He shrugged and made another drink. I watched him walk to the end of the bar, put the drink down, and speak. Jay slowly lifted his head and looked down the bar. I had a smile on my face that was bigger than I remembered having in a long while. When the smile slowly spread across his face, my chest felt so warm. I couldn't leave him. Even though I knew he could hurt me ten times worse than he did when I was eighteen, I knew I was going to take that risk. Jay was the only man I would ever love.

He stood up and walked down the bar area toward me. A couple of people, mostly girls, tried to talk to him, but he continued walking with his eyes on me the entire time. As soon as he was close enough to me, I reached out and wrapped my arms around his neck.

“I had to see you,” I said. “I was so afraid to walk in that door. I was so sure there would be a woman with you.”

“No,” he said. “You're the only woman for me. You always have been. I'm so damn sorry I didn't stay and fight for us. I've been fighting to make a life that would make you proud ever since. I know I've spent time with women, but I haven't done what you think with all of them. I've tried to forget you here and there, just as you have me. That's all it's ever been. The day you walked out of here with that guy, I knew how horrible I felt. I never wanted to make you feel that way. I haven't even been around anyone since. I've sat here looking pathetic every night. I'm so happy that you're here.”

“I put all of my stuff in storage. I only took a couple of bags to Tom's.”

“You can't go back home,” he said. “Shit!”

“I'm not,” I said. “I'm going to talk to Mr. Daniels tomorrow to see if I can still stay.”

“That's awesome,” he said. “Tom was driving me crazy.”

  I shook my head.

“I'm not working on it. I know it would mean a raise, but I can't work with you. I either work on your projects, or I put my heart out there and hope you don't destroy me again. I can't do both. It's your choice, Jay.”

“There's no decision. It's you that I want. You're an amazing developer. I will admit, you are way better than I thought you would be. Not that I didn't think you could do it, but I didn't think you were passionate about it. You are. I know that. You are good at what you do. None of that matters though. I don't care if you build your own business and run mine into the ground. That would actually make me very proud. The only thing that matters is having the woman I've always cared about right here with me. I promise not to walk away. If you want to get rid of me, you're going to have to run away and change your name. Don't bother. I'd still find you. I have resources. I'd use every single one of them to get you back. I'm fighting for us. I will never give up.”

“I told Tom about us, well most of it,” I said. “There were a few details I left out. You were right, he did have feelings for me. I let him know that I didn't feel the same. We're both fine with being friends.”

  “So,” he said. “You're staying.”

  I nodded.

“For now,” I said. “If you do one thing to hurt me, I'll be gone before you know it. I'm not giving you that power again. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have a first date with the sexiest man in the world in the morning. I need to get my beauty sleep. I've got to be on my game to beat off the beautiful women I'm sure will be trying to crawl up his ass while we're out. I guess he's somebody around here. Good thing I knew him before all that. I knew him when he was a nerd in his room. I'll take that guy any day over a guy with billions. None of that means shit to me.”

“You're the most beautiful woman in the world, even when you go out in your pajamas.”

“You can let that one go anytime,” I said with a laugh.

I leaned in and kissed him on the cheek before turning to walk out.

“You're staying with Tom,” he said.

I heard a growl come from deep in his chest.

“I am for now,” I said. “You'll just have to trust me, just as I'm trusting that when I walk out of here a woman won't appear on your arm.”

“I'll be picking my date up at eight,” he said.

“Please don't give Tom a hard time. He really was the only person that was there for me when I moved here. The only person I knew was there for me, I mean. Cut him some slack. He's not a bad guy. Stop scaring the shit out of him. Tone down the intimidation a few notches. Don't mess with his career either. He works very hard. He wants to do such a good job and impress the shit out of you. No matter how many times I told him to tell you to fuck off, he didn't do it once.”

Jay smiled and pulled me into a hug.

“When did you become so confident?” he asked.

“When I had to take on the world alone,” I said. “That wasn't easy. I'll see you in the morning. I'm super excited for our first date. I'm just hoping you live up to my expectations of dating the Mr. Jared Blackwell.”

“I can live up to those expectations and more, baby,” he said.

I leaned in close to his ear.

“While you look so damn sexy in those made-just-for-you suits, I'm begging you to wear tight jeans and one of those t-shirts that cling to you.”

I kissed his cheek and turned to walk out the door.

  “See you in the morn
ing.”

I hurried home and got in bed as fast as I could. There was no way I wanted to walk away from him, but I wasn't passing up a date with him either. We never had any date at all. The only time I had ever had with him that wasn't in the house was the one time he let me drive that beautiful car. We even had ice cream that day. It didn't matter what we had planned. I just wanted a normal day with him. Not Mr. Blackwell normal, but normal couple normal. Hopefully that made sense.

I woke up at six like a damn teenager with her first crush. It truly felt like the first date of my life. I got ready as quickly as I could. When I heard the doorbell, I jumped and looked at myself once more in the mirror. I pulled the door open with a silly grin on my face, and my mouth dropped open at the site before me.

There stood Jay dressed exactly as I requested with a huge bouquet of red roses in his hands. He looked so damn sexy. I wrapped my arms around his neck and felt tears slide from the corner of my eyes. When I pulled back and rubbed my eyes, he got a nervous look on his face.

  “What's wrong?” he asked.

“Not a single thing,” I said. “You've filled my dreams for four years, Jay. I still can't believe that you're here and that you really want me.”

“Shit,” he said, as he pulled me tighter into his arms. “You're all I've ever wanted, Tabby. I have a damn cat on my chest. That's because I needed to have you with me every single day.”

I put the flowers in the house and hugged him tight. He took my hand in his and walked out the front door, down the stairs, and out the main door of the apartment. As soon as we turned the corner to the parking lot, I stopped frozen.

“No way,” I gasped. “Are you serious? I thought you had someone to drive you around.”

“I do,” he said. “I also have cars of my own. You asked if you could drive my Vette last night. What do you think? It's new.”

I ran over toward the car and looked in the window.

“This is awesome. I can't believe you have it. I still like your old one. I'll never forget it.”

He held out the keys and handed them to me.

“Come on,” he said. “We've got things to do.”

I could have driven that car all day long. It was a perfect, new black Corvette. We even stopped for ice cream and a walk along the beach. Jay kept some kind of connection with me every second. Either he held my hand, put his hand on my back, or wrapped his arm around me the whole day. I felt so special and cared for. We went to lunch at a diner by the beach. We were just a normal couple, and it was perfect. For dinner, we went to a restaurant. Not super nice, considering we were both in jeans. When dinner was over, he asked what I wanted to do next. I didn't want the night to end. I wasn't ready to be without him yet. We got in the car, and I drove to his club. When I parked the car and got out, one of the bartenders was outside and looked over with a smile. Jay stepped out of the car, and the guy's smile disappeared.

“Good evening, Mr. Blackwell,” he said.

Jay walked around the car, wrapped his arm around me, and walked toward the building. Instead of sitting at the bar, he walked to a booth in the back corner and motioned for me to sit. When a waitress walked up and saw him, hers eyes widened with shock.

“I'm sorry, Mr. Blackwell,” she said. “I didn't recognize you. You look so.”

  “Normal,” Jay responded.

“It's just that you usually sit at the bar, and you usually wear a suit. What can I get the two of you?” she asked.

I told her what I wanted and he asked for the same. As soon as she walked away, he started to laugh.

“Maybe I do need to loosen up a bit,” he said. “You bring that out of me.”

We talked for a couple of hours about what our lives had been like those past four years. He had accomplished so much. I loved the fact that he gave so much of his money to charities and helped so many people.

“You will never know how proud I am of the life you've made for yourself. I never would have imagined this being you. I knew you would do great things, but your life is crazy amazing,” I said.

“I've work every moment the last four years. A few hours off every couple of weeks were all I ever gave myself. I knew you would eventually make it here. I just hoped you'd still remember me when you did.”

We talked about his companies, my work, our parents, and our friends. Neither of us had very many. He worked all the time, and I hadn't been there that long. He tried to get me to work on the project or work at his company, but I didn't go for it. There was no way I could do it. It wouldn't be good for either of us. I went to the rest room, and when I came back there was a woman standing at our table. Two could play the jealous card. I walked over, grabbed his hand, and pulled him to his feet.

“Come dance with me, babe,” I said.

The woman looked at me and laughed.

“You can't possibly think this man is going to,” she began.

I grabbed the sides of his face and brought my mouth to his. My hand went into his hair, and I kissed him hard. She gasped, as she turned to walk away from us. He pulled back from our kiss and smiled.

“You think I'm bad,” he said.

I pulled him onto the dance floor, wrapped my arms around his neck, and began grinding against him. He laughed, as he grabbed my ass in his hands and pulled me against his already hard cock.

  “Fuck,” I whimpered.

He grabbed my hair and pulled back. I could see the darkness of his eyes and moaned just before he slammed his lips against mine. His teeth pulled my bottom lip, and his tongue thrust into my mouth. When he pulled away from our intense kiss, I caught my breath.

“I'd offer to take you back to my place,” I said. “but I don't have one anymore. Not in walking distance anyway. Want to go to my,”

He took my hand before I could finish and pulled me out of the club and around to the parking lot. When we got to his car, he pushed me against the side of it and held me there with his body.

“Go home with me,” he said. “I can't stand the thought of taking you home right now. I want to hold you.”

“That's what you want to do with me,” I said with a smile, as I grabbed his cock through his jeans.

“That's one of the things I want to do with you,” he said, as he leaned down close to my ear.

I heard a flash sound and looked over to see a man taking a picture of us.

“Shit!” I said. “I'm so sorry.”

“You have nothing to be sorry for,” he said.

“In all the times I looked on the internet, I don't recall ever seeing a picture of you in jeans with a woman's hand on your cock,” I said. “I'm sure that doesn't look good.”

“I already told you that you're the only one they will be taking pictures of me with,” he said. “I'm pretty sure that one was more interesting than any other picture out there of me. You can put your hand on my cock anytime. I want to get you home so you can put more than your hand there.”

He opened the door for me to get in and then walked around to the driver side. As soon as his door was closed, my hand was right back where it started. I couldn't wait to get him back to his place. When we walked through the door of his gigantic penthouse, I looked around a little more than before. It was so beautiful. I walked over to the doors that opened to the balcony and looked out. Jay opened the door, and I walked to the edge to see over the city in the dark. Everything was lit up, and it was breathtaking.

“This view is the most beautiful I have ever seen. You are so lucky. You know what I mean. I know you've worked very hard to earn it. I just can't believe this.”

He walked up behind me and put his arms around me. I turned in his arms, grabbed the back of his head, and kissed him hard. It was the best feeling in the world. We had both chosen to be there knowing who we were. I couldn't explain how that felt. He wanted me, and I wanted him more than I had ever wanted anything or anyone in my life.

My hands went to the hem of his shirt, and I quickly pulled it over his head. I ran my fingers u
p and down his muscular chest. When he pulled back from our kiss, I looked at the tattoo and traced it. He grabbed my face in his hands and smiled at me. I dropped to my knees right there and reached up to undo the button and zipper on his jeans. Slowly, I pulled his pants down with his boxers until he sprang free from them. I looked up at him while I took his shaft into my hand and began to stroke it. When I leaned forward and licked across the tip, I felt his legs tighten. My tongue moved all the way down to the base and back to his most sensitive spot. My lips spread as I took him into my mouth all the way to my throat.

  “Fuck,” he moaned.

Jay's hand grabbed a bunch of my hair and stopped me from moving. I shook my head and continued moving him in and out of mouth. A few more times and he was moving his hips as he filled my mouth. My hands grabbed the back of his legs, and he continued guiding me. I sucked hard, and he called out my name in warning. I stopped moving and looked up at him.

“You have no idea how beautiful you look on your knees with that smart mouth filled with my cock,” he said. “You suck hard like that again, and I'm going fill that mouth with more than just my cock.”

I smiled around him, moved him into my throat, and sucked as hard as I could.

“Hold on tight,” he said, as his grip on my hair tightened. “I'm going to fuck that mouth.”

I watched his head fall back just as his hips began to move. He held the back of my head and did exactly as he said he was going to. Jay fucked my mouth like I had never experienced before. I felt my fingers dig into the backs of his legs, and it seemed to turn him on even more. A few more pumps into my mouth and he stilled as jolt after jolt filled it. I swallowed every drop and licked him clean, releasing him from my mouth with a pop.

When I stood up and looked into his eyes, they were darker than they had been earlier. He grabbed the hem of my shirt and pulled it over my head as he walked me backward into his place. My bra went right behind it. He turned me so my back was against the cold glass window and dropped to his knees. I watched him pull my jeans and panties down my legs and held his shoulder as I stepped out of them.
