I wrapped my arms around his chest and looked at him through the mirror. “No. You’re his father. Kathy wants you to go. You will do just fine. It’s good to meet Jake’s teacher.” I smiled to help him relax.
He wrapped his hands around mine. “Yeah. You’re right. I want to be part of his life. I want him to know who his father is. I can’t say I’m going to be good at this parent thing. But I’ll figure it as I go along.”
“We’ll figure it out together, Owen.” He gave me that warm handsome smile, making my stomach do that somersault. He always did that to me.
We planned on signing a new lease to get us into a two-bedroom apartment in a few months. And Jake would have his own bedroom and we would decorate it with, you guessed it, Motorcycles!
