Forced To Marry The Alien Prince: A Sci-Fi Alien Romance (In The Stars Romance)

I drew in a deep breath and squeezed my eyes shut. I pounded my index finger down on the Send button and then heard a little jingle.
I opened my eyes. It was done. My application was officially and formally submitted for review from the Mixian school.
I stared at the words displayed across my computer screen. “Congratulations! Someone will be contacting you soon for results should you make it to the interview process.”
I shrieked and looked out the window at the Earth I knew and loved. Would I soon be leaving it to embrace another culture where the landscape would inevitably be sprawling with captivating new nature to explore?
I certainly hoped so.
That afternoon, I tried to keep my mind busy and occupied so I wouldn’t entirely focus on the application. I was nervous and fidgety, but I walked around the house doing chores to keep my hands busy.
I didn’t have to wait a lengthy amount of time. To my baffled surprise, within an hour, I received an ominous email from the “Mixis Academy” stating they would like to conduct a formal interview with me.
I bounced up and down with excitement. This was it, this was really happening. A new journey of beginnings was right around the corner, and all I had to do was charm my future employers. Reality was sinking in. I might have just turned a corner to change my life forever.
Chapter 2
Kylin
I left my palace earlier than I should have. Adrenaline fueled me with anticipation and exhilaration. Today was a huge, life-altering day. There were many things to be excited for. A burst of energy filled me. I was ready to seize and conquer.
When I arrived at the headquarters for Mixian International Mating, the thrill burned in my heart and filled my mind with motivation.
I threw open the doors and was greeted by a slightly smaller than normal Mixian receptionist with little to no hair and huge, round, wire-rimmed glasses.
“Good afternoon, Prince Kylin.” She quickly sat up in a jolt and gave me an enormous bow, unnecessary for the occasion.
“Good afternoon.” I gave her a prideful grin.
“They are waiting for you in the last board room on the left.” She pointed in the direction I was to follow.
“Thank you.” I bade the friendly and eager receptionist farewell and bounced with a confident stride, ready to meet my potential human mate.
The first things I noticed when I saw Georgia Wallace’s profile were her extraordinary eyes, blue in color and fascinating like the depths of the ocean. She looked smart, cute, and fun, just from looking at her picture.
The second appealing physical characteristic I saw and loved was her hair color, which was a beautiful shade of crimson. It reminded me of an amber sunset splashing against the canvas of the sky. It was quite analogous to my own copper braid that ran halfway down my back.
I had the idealistic dream that we would blend right in together as a perfect intergalactic match. I allowed my fanatical and whimsical mind to run wild with daydreams about how we would instantly click.
I threw open the doors to the board room, needing no introductions as I marked my entrance. I was, however, the crown prince of Mixis. People knew who I was and were fond of me. I was of high-powered status and proud.
I was fluent in English, but even better, comparable to my own talents, was the fact that Georgia was fluent in Mixian. It was a quality trait necessary to function and live among a race unfamiliar to her. I had to admit, I was impressed. From the very beginning, we wouldn’t have to fret over a language barrier.
I also delighted in the fact that we were both literary minded. She was a teacher back on Earth. I learned from her profile that she had a passion for helping children there learn to speak the Mixian language and broaden the culture of her native planet. That showed she was flexible and capable of change, which was another great quality about the mysterious human girl that stood out.
When I initially laid eyes on the humans within the room, my eyes first met with Chad. I knew him to be the infamous younger brother who’d arranged this meeting. He nodded in my direction with a lazy expression in greeting.
A female voice spoke beside him. “Wow, you are super tall.”
I set my eyes on the girl next to him, admiring my stature. She must have been Chad Wallace’s girlfriend, Katie Moss. She had blonde hair and was wispy and wafer-thin.
I had spoken to both of them over the phone and via video conferencing in order to arrange this interaction with Georgia today. Katie Moss was so small I thought she might be a little pixie elf. She had enormous green eyes that searched me in wonderment and curiosity.
Her voice was chirpy and enthusiastic, so I knew she must have been an astute holojournalist in her specific field. She appeared to be friendly and harmless. I couldn’t say as much for her boyfriend, Chad, but I owed him a debt of gratitude for arranging the meeting. Katie, on the other hand, had definitely seemed perky and spunky in our previous encounters.
“Is this your first time visiting Mixis?” I chuckled at her blatant stupefaction.
She nodded, keeping her eyes fixated on me. Any human who might have been observing me for the first time might be in awe of my purple skin and loftiness. I stood at nearly seven feet tall, towering over most humans I met. I could understand if I seemed intimidating to them.
“Well, I welcome you with open arms,” I said with jovial and profound merriment that they may have gauged as being assertively over the top. It was still my duty to be polite to my new guests and make them feel at home away from home.
“Thank you.” Katie nodded with polite decorum and a cheesy grin.
Chad sighed with a bored inflection and crossed his arms. “Are we gonna do this, or what?” His eyes read of impatience and annoyance.
That’s when another person in the room cleared their throat, announcing their presence. I had been focusing so astutely on Chad and Katie that I had nearly forgotten the most important aspect of our meeting today.
My heart erupted in my chest and splattered across the room, painting the world with red. This, of course, is theatrically speaking, but it was my internal reaction to laying eyes on Georgia Wallace in person.
She was breathtaking, captivating, and completely intoxicating. My heart raced, and I felt flushed as if I’d hit a brick wall at a hundred miles an hour. She was bone-shatteringly beautiful.
“Hello.” She cast me a shy wave with apprehension, yet I observed a spark of eagerness as it fleetingly flashed through her electric-blue eyes.
“Hi.” I grinned at her stupidly like a schoolboy with a crush. I wanted to make a remarkable and chivalric first impression on her.
Needless to say, I was instantly attracted to her. Internally, it wasn’t lost on me that her red hair was a sign of nobility. It seemed as if the stars had aligned for our perfect meeting and first encounter.
I took a seat across from her, resisting the urge to lean across the table and touch her soft, delicate skin. She was so gorgeous that I couldn’t help but stare at her. I hoped I wasn’t making her uncomfortable with my gawking.
“So, I hope your trip to Mixis was a pleasurable one?” I asked while making polite conversation.
I addressed Georgia directly, nearly forgetting that her brother and his girlfriend were even present in the room with us. She was extremely compelling and captured all of my attention.
“Yes.” She grinned and bit her bottom lip in what I read as a flirtatious sign, but I had yet to assess her intentions. There was definitely a spark between us. I could sense its radiant presence.
“Fantastic.” I beamed at her. “Your brother tells me you have a sincere interest in children?”
“That’s right.” Georgia nodded her head with keenness. She appeared enthusiastic and her eyes lit up when I asked her about children.
This, of course, was pleasing news to me, because I couldn’t wait to get started right away in having children of our own. I could already imagine our working as a team to raise future leaders of our g
reat nation here in Mixis.
“How many children are there?” Georgia perked up with a question that puzzled me.
“As many as you’d like.” I chuckled and looked between Chad and Katie. Chad yawned, and Katie blushed.
Georgia gave me a funny look. “I’m used to teaching up to twenty at a time.”
“Twenty!” I exclaimed and playfully hit the top of the table with my palm. “That seems like an awful lot to me.”
Chad cleared his throat and exchanged a private glance with Katie, whose demeanor had changed remarkably in such little time since I entered the room. They seemed skittish and dodgy, like they were hiding something.
Katie squirmed in her seat, shifting uncomfortably as she darted her eyes to the floor. She refused to make eye contact between any of the three of us. She adjusted her holocam on the desk which was recording the entire conversation for documentation purposes.
Both Georgia and I had agreed beforehand to permit the device in the initial meeting.
“Will the lessons be taking place in your home?” Georgia quizzed me.
I folded my hands together. “Anywhere you want.”
I was confused by her question but thought she might mean something sexual, so I kept my answer vague in front of her brother and his friend. When it came to sex, she could give me any lessons she wanted. I admired her assertiveness.
“I have lots of experience,” she added with a bright and influential smile.
“That’s great news.”
I sat up straight in my chair, excited that she was so enthusiastic about making love so early on when we hadn’t even officially had the wedding ceremony yet. She seemed confident and eager, which made me delighted.
“This interview is going swimmingly.” Chad chuckled with mockery and scratched his crotch under the desk.
“Chad!” Katie’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment then immediately drained of color at her boyfriend’s uncouth behavior. I felt sorry for her.
“What?” Chad exclaimed and threw his arms up defensively. “Give me a fucking break.”
“I’m so sorry about this,” Katie stammered, apologizing on behalf of her crude partner. I couldn’t believe his audacity and nerve to treat her with such disregard.
I glanced at Georgia, who rolled her eyes as if she were accustomed to Chad acting so hideously. I hoped he wouldn’t behave like that around any children we would have one day.
The room went awkwardly silent for a few moments until Georgia broke it with her adorable zesty spirit. She seemed genuine and unique. I liked her already.
“I have over fifteen years’ experience in speaking Mixian, and I’ve taught it for five.”
“Great. Good for you. That’s amazing.” I shrugged, wondering why she was so engrossed in this whole teaching business.
I wouldn’t require her to leave the home and work. It was the man’s job and my requirement as a prince to provide for my future family. I would make sure she knew that she and any future children we had would be cared for properly.
“It sounds like you two have a lot in common.” Katie spoke up on Chad’s behalf. He belched so loudly that I jumped slightly. This guy was an utter disaster.
“A perfect match.” I agreed with an awestruck grin aimed at Georgia’s heart. I hoped she felt our connection as strongly as I did.
She would make the perfect wife, and I was certain we would have a beautiful melting pot of gorgeous children. I couldn’t wait to introduce her to my friends and family.
“I can give you a tour of the palace when we wrap things up here,” I offered.
“That sounds like tons of fun.” Georgia’s smile created a glow throughout the entire room.
Chad scoffed and smirked at us as if we were insane. “Get a room already.”
Katie glanced anxiously at Georgia and then swiftly elbowed Chad in the arm.
“Ow!” He shrieked and rubbed the wounded area. “What the fuck was that for?”
“Please watch your language with ladies present,” I said in a lecturing tone. I was getting drained by this douchebag.
It was time for somebody to put him in his place. He was a guest here, and he needed to play by the rules.
“Whatever, dude.” Chad mumbled something indecipherable, but I paid him no mind. I focused my attention back to my beautiful bride to be.
I grinned back at Georgia, who stared at me in shock as if she wasn’t used to somebody standing up to her brother. To be honest, it gave me much pleasure. The guy was a real jerk, and somebody had to knock him down a peg or two.
I was used to having brothers myself and knew what it was like to grow up in a house with siblings who became more like rivals than blood relatives you would die to protect.
That said, I would throw myself in front of the fire for any of my brothers. I wouldn’t be the first in my family, or in Mixis in general, for that matter, to seek out the perfect human mate. It was customary to want to cross bloodlines and create an entirely new blend of species.
It was my turn to cast a net and determine whom I would be matched with. I knew I had a keeper in Georgia because her aura was kind and her smile was genuine. She seemed cute and charismatic. She was radiant, elegant, and seemed eager to please. Yes, she would do just fine.
“Did you all bring the documentation?” I spoke to Katie directly, continuing to ignore the snarky Chad.
“Yes, I have it right here.” Katie grinned and pulled a manila folder out of her bag beside her on the floor.
“Wonderful.” I grinned at her, pleased that she’d come prepared and organized. I was already on edge because of Chad.
Georgia spoke up, her voice dripping with excitement. “Wait a minute. Are you saying I’m hired?” She was borderline screeching at this point. Her eyes were glowing.
I was confused with her term ‘hired,’ because it was more like being ‘paired’ with me, but I took it all in stride. She was so enthusiastic that I didn’t have any time to doubt her intentions. To me, she seemed genuine and pure.
Perhaps sometimes, we would encounter a few language barriers, but it wouldn’t take much effort to correct them and learn various phrases from the other’s culture. I was open to diversity, and from the looks of it, Georgia was too.
In fact, I couldn’t wait to pick Georgia’s brain and sit outside watching sunsets as we talked and made love well into the night. It would be exciting and thrilling getting to know each other. I would soon have my mate, somebody to make beautiful babies with and to grow old together with.
I glanced at Georgia, who was still waiting for my response. “I’d love to have you join me here on Mixis if you are willing to stay.” My heart galloped in my chest in anticipation of her answer.
At this point, I was solidly confident that she would not decline my offer, given the way she was giddy and giggling with joy. I had to admit, I wasn’t expecting her to be quite this eager, but who was I to complain? The more willing she was to embrace our future life together, the better.
“Yes, absolutely, I would love to stay. Thank you so much for the opportunity.” She nodded as if she was completely delighted and honored for the opportunity to be my mate.
Georgia stood up and extended a hand for me to shake. I couldn’t believe how smoothly this process was going. She didn’t protest anything and seemed positively eager to dive right into being my wife. It was all smooth sailing from here.
I couldn’t wait to go home and tell my friends and family how perfect the transaction went. They would all be jealous and try to find a human of their own to marry. I would be the talk of the town. I couldn’t wait for the envy to start pouring in. It was also an added bonus that Georgia was whimsically beautiful.
Introducing her would be prideful to me because she was so profoundly gorgeous. She would be my trophy wife and I would take care of her until the day I died.
“Don’t get too excited. You still have to sign the paperwork.” Chad held up the documents and waved them at us as he callously p
layed on his phone. He didn’t make eye contact with any of us. He was the definition of a buzzkill.
“I don’t mind being first.” Georgia raised her hand with vigor. She was so polite. A complete opposite of her brother.
“Whatever.” Chad shoved the papers her way and she had to reach across the table to retrieve them all into one pile because he refused to meet her halfway. I was enormously close to punching him in the face, but I had to practice restraint. I didn’t want Georgia to change her mind about coming home with me.
I took this opportunity to stare at her cleavage as it spilled out of her pretty pink dress. When she caught me looking, Georgia quickly became uncomfortable and scurried back to a seated position.
I found this reaction to be anomalous because soon, she would be my wife, and I would get to see her naked. I gave her the benefit of the doubt because maybe she was just shy. I understood if she wanted to take things slowly, and I wouldn’t have a problem with that.
We were still strangers, after all, and it would take some time to get to know each other. Relationships took time and effort. I couldn’t wait to see her naked for the first time, but I would ease into it. I didn’t want to scare her off.
Katie handed Georgia a pen and she hastily swooped through the documents, signing each after the next with a swift hand and a smile on her face. Chad eagerly stared at Georgia’s actions as if he was anticipating a grand event to unfold right in front of him. I didn’t trust that guy as far as I could throw him. I was waiting for him to hash out some kind of trick.
After Georgia finished her part of the deal, she scooted the documents my way and I put pen to paper, scribbling my signature in all the assigned fields. My heart was racing excitedly. These were the final steps. Soon, she would be mine.
At the last page, Chad nearly ripped the documents from my hands. “Great!” He exclaimed. “It’s settled and official now.” I didn’t know the reason for his sudden boost of interest.
“I can’t wait to get started.” Georgia was grinning from ear to ear.
“We should have the marriage ceremony as quickly as possible,” I chimed with merriment.
