Walking up behind Abigail, I wrap my arms around her waist, and she jumps but instantly relaxes against my hold when I kiss her neck. “Are those for me?” I whisper huskily into her ear. They better be for me, no one else around here is getting one of her delicious rolls. I refuse to share.

She shrugs one of her shoulders, something I have noticed she does a lot and looks back at me. “Well, there isn’t anyone else around here who’s been hounding me for the recipe.” She sasses back.

I pinch her butt, and she gasps and spins around with a spatula of frosting in her hand. She turns so fast that frosting lands on my shirt and neck. She immediately bursts out laughing. I grab her around the butt and lift her onto the counter, pushing between her thighs, her dress around her waist and her pretty white panties playing peekaboo. She’s going to be the death of me before I even have her. “You going to clean that up little one?”

Her smile falters and is replaced with need. Grabbing a washcloth, she wipes the frosting from my shirt. When she’s finished, she surprises me by pulling me closer and licking the frosting from my neck. My dick swells instantly. I wrap my arms around her back and push my swollen dick against her hot center, making her moan. I pull her closer to me, so her butt is on the edge of the counter, and she has to wrap her legs around my back. She digs her boots into my ass pushing me forward and moans again when my dick rubs her little pussy just right.

“If you want me to make your pussy feel better, you have to be quiet. I won’t let my men hear those sexy as fuck moans coming from your mouth.”

With her eyes pooling with desire, she bites her lip and looks down to where I’m pressed against her. Fuck she’s beautiful. “Put your feet on the counter baby.” She looks as if she’s going to fight me on it, so I’m surprised when she stares me straight in the eyes and lifts her boots to the counter and drops her knees to the side, so she’s spread wide open for me, her wet panties outlining her pussy lips. Fucking perfection.

  “Remember, not a sound.”

She nods and bites her bottom lip while she stares at me, waiting for what I’ll do next. Instead of playing with her pussy, I lean in and press a soft kiss to her lips. She tastes like frosting and sex, it’s the best kiss I’ve ever had. Abigail wraps her arms around my neck and spears her fingers into my hair, running her nails over my scalp. Pulling away I kiss down her neck and in between her huge tits. I tug the strap of her dress down her shoulder, revealing her matching bra. Fuck I’m a lucky man. Licking and kissing I place soft kisses down her neck to the top of her bra, slowly pulling the cup down. Growling at the sight of her hard, pink nipple, I suck it into my mouth, and she moans.

I run my thumb up and down her panty covered slit, rubbing circles around her clit. She moans again, and that’s it. I rip her drenched panties from her body.

“Leland!” She moans before I tell her to open up. She stares at the panties in my hand and quirks an eyebrow at me.

“Open your mouth or we stop right now and go back to work.”

Slowly, so very slow, she opens for me. I stuff her panties in her mouth. Rubbing my thumb up her naked pussy makes my dick leak precum. She’s got me close, and I’ve barely touched her. “Does that feel good baby? Do you like when I rub your pussy soft?” She nods and moans against her panties.

I run my thumb back and forth until her cream is dripping down my hand and I finally push inside of her tight heat. Abigail bucks against my hand, and I start fucking her with my thumb, quickly switching to my pointer and middle finger. When I feel her walls begin to pulse I speed up my movements until she’s coming around my fingers. I quickly unzip my jeans and pull my dick out of my pants. Lubing my dick up with her sweet release it takes a few pumps before I’m coming all over her pussy and thighs.

When we’re finished, I help her drop her feet while still sitting on the counter. I take the panties out of her mouth, sealing my lips against hers. “Thank you, Beautiful. I was waiting for our first time, but when I saw you like this, I couldn’t wait.”

“Leland it was perfect, exactly what it should have been. Thank you for making me feel so cherished.”

I tuck her golden hair behind her ear and kiss her softly. “I’ll always cherish you, Abigail, always.”

I grab a clean rag and wet it with warm water in the sink then wipe her clean. She shivers when I run the cloth over her pussy lips. “Sensitive?” I smirk.

She hits me against the chest and laughs. “Jerk, of course, I’m sensitive. And I can’t believe you tore my panties, those were my only pair.”

I kiss her nose and then grab her by her hips and lower her to the ground, so she’s standing beside me, her dress falling to above her knees. “When you go in my room, open the closet. The other stuff Donna got you today is in there.” I see the wheels turning in her mind, and I know what she wants to ask. “When she got back from the store I picked out what I wanted you to wear and put the rest in my closet. I was going to tell you about your other clothes later today.”

“How did she know what to get and even my sizes?”

“It took me a little bit to fall asleep last night. Eventually, I snuck into your room and grabbed your clothes to get an idea of what your sizes are. I emailed her and told her the types of things I wanted her to get you, colors, items, and whatnot.”

“Waking up this morning and seeing everything you had done to take care of me meant a lot, Leland. Thank you isn’t enough, but it’s all I have.”

“Well, you have the cinnamon rolls.” I grin at her, grabbing one of the rolls from the plate she has them resting on and taking a large bite. I groan in enjoyment, not having had one in a week.

She rolls her eyes and smiles at me as she walks out of the kitchen.

When I walked into his closet, I found over twenty bags filled with things Leland thought I might need. I just started grabbing them and dumping them on the bed. I can’t get over the fact that there is so much here. He thought of everything. Jeans, shorts, dresses, shirts, panties, bras, socks, it’s all here. Now I stand arms crossed, staring at the piles and piles of clothes wondering where I should put them and how I’ll ever be able to repay Leland for his generosity. Leaving Leland in the kitchen after what we shared I felt happy, but now the real world is butting in like an uninvited neighbor. I’m questioning myself and what I should do versus what I would do if I were thinking with my heart.

A light knock on his door has me turning around to see Donna standing in the hall. “May I come in?” Nodding, she enters his room. I like that she asked as if I have dominion over this space now and she shouldn’t just barge in.

Walking up beside me, she stops and looks at the bed and laughs. “I didn’t realize I bought so much. He told me to get you everything you would need for the summer. I guess I went a little crazy. The funny thing is, when I got back he acted like I didn’t get you enough.”

I shake my head. “Where am I supposed to put all of this?”

Donna walks over to his walk-in closet, opens the door, and goes in, then shouts from inside. “It seems as though he knows exactly where he wants you to put them.”

Going back into his closet I look around, and for the first time, I notice all his clothes are hanging to the left along with his shoes, ties, belts, and hats. Did he move his things for me? The right side, other than the hangers, is completely empty. I look to Donna who has a huge smirk on her face, and I roll my eyes. “He can’t be serious.”

“That man is nothing but serious Abby. When he sees what he wants he goes after it, and nothing is going to get in his way.”

“We met a week ago Donna. A week! I didn’t even consider a relationship with him until last night, and now I’m just supposed to move my clothes into his room. What’s next, am I sleeping in here with him tonight as well?” I say, pacing in front of her.

“Hold up girl. Take a breath.” Donna says wrapping her arm around my shoulders and walks out of the closet to sit on the big bed
. “This is fast, I’ll give you that. If you aren’t ready for moving into his room or sleeping in his bed, don’t worry about it. It’s not like he is suddenly going to lose interest because you and your clothes are in the other room. Will he be disappointed, probably, but he can man the fuck up and get over himself.” She says, making me laugh. “Love isn’t a race doll, it’s a lifelong marathon. You need to do what is right for you, not anyone else. Leland will respect that. I’m going to leave you to think about it while I go cook dinner. I was planning on making chicken fried steak and all the fixings, that sound ok to you?”

“That sounds amazing Donna. I know I told you earlier, but you are an amazing cook. And thanks for what you said.” Donna smiles and walks out the door.

Thirty minutes later I’m in the middle of hanging my clothes in Leland’s closet when my phone rings. I don’t recognize the number, but I know it’s local, based off the area code. “Hello?”

  “Hey, Abby. It’s Chief Warren.”

“Good afternoon, Chief.” I sit on the bed and put the phone on speaker.

“I wish it were Abby. We’ve completed our investigation and found an accelerant was used to start the fire in your kitchen. Whoever did it made it look like a simple kitchen fire that got out of hand, but they got sloppy. I’ve notified the sheriff's office of this, so he will be starting a criminal investigation. He will be in touch once the arson investigator has concluded his findings.”

“Wait, you’re telling me someone caused this fire?”

He sighs heavily before answering. “I’m afraid so Hun.”

“But why? Why would someone do this?” I ask, beginning to shake in anger.

“I wish I could tell you, but people who do this never have a good reason. You need to focus on keeping yourself safe. Keep an eye out for your surroundings. Make sure no one is getting close to you that hasn’t in the past. Be smart Abby.”

“What exactly are you trying to say Chief?” I ask, pissed about what he may be implying.

“How well do you know Mr. Kennison? Would he have any reason to harm you?”

“I appreciate your concern Chief, but you have nothing to worry about in regard to Leland. He is a good man. I don’t know what your problem is with him, but I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that he is not responsible.”

“Abby, I’m worried about you. First this fire, and now I hear you’re living with him. It seems like too much of a coincidence.”

“It’s not,” I say through clenched teeth.

“Then why are you the only woman he has ever been seen with? He grew up here, just like you did. Bet you didn’t know that, did you? What do you even know about the guy? Don’t you find it odd he just comes out of the woodwork, now, right before the fire?”

I didn’t know he grew up here. Wouldn’t I have seen him around town if that were true? It doesn’t matter. “Thank you for letting me know about the fire. Goodbye.” I end the call and throw it across the bed. I’d rather throw it at the wall, but then I wouldn’t have a phone, and I’ve lost enough already.

I don’t agree with the Chief about Leland, but he was right about some things. I need to be smart and safe. I finish putting away the rest of my clothes and grab my phone from the bed. When I get to the kitchen, I’m hit with all the delicious scents that accompany such a rich southern meal. “Donna, it smells absolutely heavenly in here. Where did you learn to cook this good?” I ask as I sit down on one of the barstools.

“My Granny. She taught me everything I know.”

“Mine too. They’re amazing like that, aren’t they?”

I grab a pen and notepad from the bar that is just lying there. “Do you mind if I use this?”

  “Have at it girlfriend.”

I start making a list of everyone I deliver to and what their orders entail. I called everyone this morning after breakfast and told them why I wouldn’t be delivering. Such as a small town, they already knew, offering condolences for my loss. They were all happy to learn I could begin deliveries starting in a few days. When they asked where I would be baking, they all sounded surprised by my answer.

“What are you working on over there?”

“I’m making my list of orders, trying to get organized.”

“It sucks you have to start over from scratch. I don’t know what I’d do if that happened to me.”

“I have the recipes in my head, that is what is most important. It’s going to be hard to rebuild what I bought for the business, but I’m thankful my customers understand and are working with me. Why do they think it’s so weird that Leland is helping me out though?”

Today has been long, but it’s been the best day I have ever had. Must have been my afternoon treat I couldn’t stop thinking about. I groan and become hard just picturing Abigail’s sweet, pink pussy. I can still smell her scent lingering against my skin and my mouth waters, dying to get a taste of what is between her thighs. Damn, I wonder if she’ll let me have her for dessert.

I spent the afternoon riding the fence line in the back pasture looking for any repairs that needed to be made. After Sam got onto Tim the other day, I’ve been careful to double check all work being done. This is my ranch, and I’ll be damned if I let it go to shit. When I get to the stables, I dismount Grey, my American Quarter Horse and lead him into his stall. I take my time with him, grooming him before saying goodbye for the night.

“How’s it going?” Sam asks when he sees me walking toward my truck.

  “Pretty good.”

“She still here? Wait. The better question is will you ever let her leave?”

“What the hell are you talking about Sam?”

He smirks. “I have to give you a hard time. She’s the first woman you’ve ever brought around, figured she must mean something special.”

“She makes me happy. I’m not giving her up.”

“Then don’t. But a little word of advice, don’t shut her out. If she’s the woman you want, leave the walls down so she can get to know the real Leland, not the guy that walks around here and says nothing to the people he works with.”

I nod and drive off, thinking about what he said. If there’s one person in this world that I respect, it’s Sam Hunter. The man would give you the shirt off his back and then some.

When I walk into the house, I walk in the direction of Abigail’s voice and the smell of good food but stop short when I hear her say my name. I shouldn’t eavesdrop, but I do.

It’s silent for a minute until Donna answers her. “I think to most people around here, Leland is misunderstood. People in a small town want to know everything about everybody. It’s just a way of life for them. Leland though is hard to read, he’s closed off and doesn’t give a lot away to most people. They’re probably shocked because you’re the first woman he’s shown interest in. To be honest, I was shocked when he told me he ‘figured out who makes the damn cinnamon rolls. She’s a damn angel, and I screwed it up.’”

I walk away not wanting to hear another word. Donna means well, but it pisses me the fuck off whenever I find out people are talking shit. Why the fuck does it matter so much that I have found the woman I want to spend my life with? Instead of going to see Abigail, I turn and head for the shower needing to cool off.

When I’m finished with my shower, I walk into my closet to grab a pair of jeans. Color me surprised when I see all of Abigail’s things filling the rest of my closet. Damn her stuff looks good in here. My mood is instantly lifted. Fuck everybody else, my woman made a move.

When I get to the kitchen, Abigail is setting the table for two. “Hey, there handsome. How was the rest of your day?”

“I’m going to need a little bit more than that little one.”

Sucking on her bottom lip, she looks up at me surprised. “What do you mean?”

“Get over here and give me a proper welcome. The kind that ends with your mouth under mine.” When she stands there, frozen to the spot, I stalk her slowly. L
ike a lion, after its prey, I’ve got her in my sights. Abigail stands there with wide eyes waiting for the inevitable. “You going to kiss your man Beautiful?” She licks her lips but says nothing. Snagging her by the waist, I pull her body flush to mine and capture her sweet lips in a searing kiss. This woman is the epitome of everything, every fucking thing, I need.

“That’s where I call it a night, it’s getting too hot in this kitchen, even for me,” Donna says backing out.

I pull away from Abigail long enough to remind Donna to grab herself some dinner before she goes. She waves the Tupperware container in her hand at us before walking out the door. Once she’s gone, I lift Abigail up and set her on the dining room table, stepping between her thighs. “Mmm, I’m starving.” I lean in for another kiss, but she pushes me away.

“Oh no you don’t. Donna spent hours making this for us.”

“That wasn’t exactly what I was in the mood for Beautiful.”

Abigail laughs and smacks my chest. “Move so I can get down.”

Grumbling, I help her down and lead her to her chair. Once she’s seated, I push in her chair then go into the kitchen. “Would you like a glass of wine?”

When she’s quiet, I look over to find her fiddling with her napkin, a blush spreading across her cheeks. “Abigail?”

“I’m not a big drinker. I’d be good with a glass of water or maybe a Coke if you have it.”

I set a bottle of water in front of her and my beer down on the table and begin making her plate. “Why did that embarrass you?”

“Sometimes I feel like it makes me seem odd or immature that I don’t like alcohol. I don’t mind if people drink, so I don’t see why it’s such a big deal when I don’t.”

I hand Abigail her plate and begin making mine. “I can understand that. I don’t overindulge, but I do enjoy a beer at the end of the day or maybe a nice whiskey sometimes.”
