My Special Forces Boyfriend Trilogy
Page 6
“Oh, Alex,” I whispered.
The fog from my hot shower covered the mirror and I could barely make out my silhouette as I began to masturbate while standing up.
“God, I wish you were here right now,” I said. “Alex...come back home and keep your promise...”
As I spoke, I continued running my finger in circles over my clit, causing waves of pleasure to wash over me. I imagined what it would feel like to have my hands on Alex’s chest as he fucked me missionary style, his military dog tags swinging back and forth in cadence with his thrusts.
My nipples grew hard at the thought and I reached my other hand up, gently squeezing my firm breasts. I closed my eyes and began to pretend that it was Alex fondling my tits, and not me. Then I slipped a finger up inside of my pussy, trying to imagine that it was Alex.
My tiny finger compared to his large shaft felt like a joke, though, and I immediately opened my eyes.
“It’s just not the same,” I said, shaking my head in disappointment.
After taking a deep, frustrated breath, I dried myself off with a towel and stepped back into my bedroom to get dressed. Everything had become a chore for me, because I had begun to compare everything in my life to my experiences with Alex. Sex with my husband was boring compared to sex with Alex. Day to day activities had become mundane when I thought about how much better they would be with Alex by my side. Life itself would have been so much better if the soldier that I loved was actually mine and not the government’s.
Still naked, I walked over to my dresser and slipped on some cute, red-striped panties. Then I made my way over to my closet, grabbing a pair of dark blue jeans and a simple, white t-shirt. I wasn’t in the mood for dressing up and besides, I wasn’t trying to impress anyone anyway.
After getting dressed, I stepped back to my dresser and sprayed on some perfume. Tears began to fill my eyes as I looked at my reflection in the mirror above the dresser. All that I wanted in this entire world was the man that I truly loved and for some reason, the universe wouldn’t let me have him.
I closed my eyes, forcing the tears to squeeze out and begin their journey down my cheeks.
It’s just not fair...
I quickly wiped the tears from my face and then turned away from the mirror. I needed to leave the house and get my day started, otherwise I risked wasting the whole day, depressed and lamenting the way things had worked out for me.
“You’ve got to move on, Lindsey,” I said to myself, trying to shake off the emotion that was inside of me. “You can’t spend your life like this. Alex is gone, off somewhere overseas. You may never see him again. Besides, your life is here, with William and Ryan. Alex has nothing to do with it.”
I spoke to myself, like an inspirational speaker talking to an audience. It was a little pep talk that I gave myself to try to help me get on with my day. I had done it a million times and it never really worked. But at least I tried.
I took another quick glance in the mirror, wiping away the remnants of tears from my cheeks. Then I grabbed my cell phone and purse and headed out the front door to my car. As soon as I jumped up into my SUV, I heard my cell phone ringing from inside of my purse.
“Fuck,” I said, as I turned the key to the ignition and started to back out of the driveway.
Normally, I didn’t mind hearing my phone going off. It was usually either William or one of my girlfriends. But this particular time, I wasn’t really in the mood to talk. So, when I pulled my cell phone out of my purse, I intended on hitting the silence button and ignoring it. But when I saw the unusual number on my caller ID, I had a sudden change of heart and I didn’t know why.
Who is this? I don’t recognize this number at all. Why do I feel compelled to answer?
It was a local area code, but the number itself didn’t look familiar. I normally wouldn’t have answered a number that I didn’t recognize, but something in my heart told me to pick it up. So as I accelerated down the street through my neighborhood, I answered the phone and it held it to my ear.
“Hello?” I said.
Instantly, a woman’s voice spoke up on the other end.
“Is this Lindsey Bogart?”
I pulled the phone away from my face and looked again at the number, attempting to decipher it. Still not knowing, I positioned the cell back against my ear.
“Yes, this is she,” I said.
“Hi, Lindsey,” the woman’s voice continued. “My name is Stacey Williams and I’m a nurse at Central Hospital, downtown.”
Immediately, my stomach dropped and a wave of anxiety shot through me. My hands began to tremble as I spoke.
“Okay...” I said. “What is this about?”
My first thoughts flashed to my son, wondering if he had been hurt. Then immediately I thought about William, with every possible scenario going through my mind.
Car accident? Heart attack?
“Well, first off, let me start by telling you that everything is okay,” the nurse said. “We have a man here who has been transferred from a hospital in Virginia. He’s currently in recovery after a minor surgery and when he woke up, he requested that we call you.”
I immediately pulled the car off to the side of the road and parked.
“Wait, what?” I asked.
The nurse continued.
“Yes, the man’s name is...” she said. “Hold on, let me check my charts.”
I sat behind the wheel, impatiently drumming my fingers on the center console.
What in the hell is this lady talking about?
“Oh, here it is,” she said after a moment. “His name is Alex Parker.”
My mouth dropped immediately.
“Alex Parker?” I whispered. “He’s at your hospital?”
The nurse responded, “Yes, he is. Like I said, he requested that we call you. He wanted you to know he was here. You’re welcome to come visit him.”
“What happened to him?” I asked, with a sudden sense of urgency in my voice. “Why is he in the hospital?”
“Ma’am, I’m sorry, but because of legal obligations, we are not allowed to discuss a patient’s condition over the phone,” she said. “But you’re welcome to come in and Alex can tell you whatever he pleases.”
I started the car immediately and pulled back onto the road, pointing my car in the direction of the hospital downtown.
“Okay,” I said. “I’ll be there soon.”
***
As soon as I stepped into the hospital I glanced around, looking for the surgery and recovery wing. A nurse must have seen the confusion on my face, because as soon as she noticed me, she approached.
“Can I help you find something?” she asked.
I nodded eagerly.
“Yes, can you point me towards the recovery area?” I asked.
The nurse pointed down a hallway.
“Follow the blue line that’s painted on the floor. It will take you to the recovery rooms. You’ll have to sign in with the nurse at the desk, though.”
I didn’t hesitate a second. I just said a quick “Thanks,” and then began walking hurriedly down the hallway. After a few seconds, I approached a desk with a nurse in purple scrubs sitting behind it.
“I’m looking for Alex Parker,” I said. “Do you know where he is?”
The nurse smiled warmly and nodded her head.
“Of course,” she said. “Recovery Room 4. He’ll be ready to leave any moment, actually. His surgery went well.”
Then she paused for a second, looking me over.
“You must be Lindsey,” she commented.
I looked at her and cocked my head to the side, slowly nodding in agreement.
“Alex has been talking about you nonstop since he woke up from anesthesia,” the nurse said.
A smiled crossed my face immediately.
“Really?!” I asked, with surprise in my voice.
The nurse nodded. “Yes. He’ll be happy to see you, I’m sure.”
“Thank you,” I said.
/> Then I turned and walked away from the desk, making my way to Room 4. When I got there, I stopped at the door.
Oh, my God, Alex...
I feared the worse. I had no idea what to expect on the other side of that door and I immediately imagined the possible tragedies of war, like a horrible burn or a missing limb.
After a second, I pushed the door open and stepped inside.
“Alex...” I whispered.
He was laying on the bed, shirtless and his arms above his head. His muscular torso was laid out before me. His black hair was brushed to the side and little bit unkempt, reminding me of how he looked when he was younger. Covering his face was a thick black beard, untrimmed but rugged looking. The moment he heard the door open, he brought his gaze to me and I watched his blue eyes light up.
“Lindsey,” he said, smiling. “Jesus Christ, what took you so long?”
I dropped my purse on the floor and ran across the room. At the same time, Alex sat up in the bed and held his arms open. I ran up to him and we embraced each other tightly.
“Alex, what in the hell happened?” I asked. “Why are you in the hospital?”
Alex chuckled in his usual relaxed tone.
“I took a little injury over there in the desert,” he explained. “Just a bullet to my leg. It could have been a lot worse.”
I pulled away from him and looked him in the eyes.
“Just a bullet to the leg, huh?” I asked, jokingly.
Alex nodded, as he pulled down the sheets that were covering his lower half. His calf was fully wrapped in white bandages.
“It wasn’t that bad, really,” he said. “The bullet hit the bone, though, so they needed to do a surgery to remove the bullet, which I had actually had done in Virginia, after they sent me home from war. There ended up being a few complications afterwards, though, including some shrapnel in my leg that they didn’t find during the first surgery. So when they told me I’d need another surgery, but it wasn’t urgent, I decided to come back home and get it done; mostly to see you, Lindsey.”
I placed a hand on his injured leg, feeling the bandages underneath my fingers.
“So...you’re injured...” I said. “Does that mean...”
Alex cut my words short.
“Yes,” he said. “It means I’m not going back to war.”
My eyes widened and a smile crossed my face. He had just spoken the words that I had been waiting to hear for the past eight years.
“You’re not going back?” I asked. “Ever?”
Alex shook his head.
“They won’t let me fight any more,” he said. “I’m too much of a liability with an injury like this. I suppose they would let me take a desk job or something, but a Special Forces soldier like me doesn’t have any interest in a desk job. It’s all or nothing. I chose “nothing” because it’s really the only choice my pride will let me live with.”
I stood silently, unable to express the joy that was in my heart at that moment.
“Come on,” Alex said. “Hand me those crutches and let’s get the fuck out of here.”
I grabbed the crutches for him and he propped himself up with them, pulling himself out of bed.
“Where are you going to go?” I asked.
He still didn’t know I was married and once again, I quickly slipped my wedding ring into the front pocket of my jeans.
Alex pulled a tight green t-shirt over his head. Then he slipped on his jeans, which had been folded neatly on a chair nearby.
“Well, I was just going to stay in my old room at my parent’s house until I’m fully recovered and feel like finding my own place to live,” he said.
A smile crossed my face immediately.
“I’ll take you there,” I said. “Let’s go.”
***
Alex and I drove through the old neighborhood, making our way toward his parent’s house. Having him sitting next to me in the car made me feel like a kid again. It reminded me of a more youthful time of my life.
As soon as we got to his parent’s house, a look of disappointment crossed his face.
“Damn, they aren’t home,” he said. “I was going to surprise them.”
I shrugged my shoulders and then parked the car across the street.
“Why don’t you just surprise them when they get home?” I asked. “They won’t even know you’re here.”
Alex nodded and then slowly stepped out of the car, grabbing his crutch from the back seat at the same time. He hobbled out and I turned off the ignition, helping him into his house.
Once we stepped inside, I took a quick glance around. Nothing in that house had changed since the last time I had been in there, over ten years before.
“Do both your parents still live here?” I asked.
“Yep,” he responded. “Mom and Dad, still in the same old house. Kind of funny, isn’t it? So many things can change while other things stay exactly the same.”
I nodded in agreement, as I closed the front door behind us.
“Come on,” Alex said. “Let’s go upstairs. I want to see my old room. It’s been years.”
Alex leaned his crutch against the wall and used the railing along the stairs to help him up. He moved faster than I imagined someone with a wrapped up calf would move, but I guess I shouldn’t have been so surprised, based on the phenomenal shape that he was in.
I followed him up the stairs and watched as he hopped on one foot down the hallway, quickly turning into his old bedroom.
“Oh, my God, Lindsey,” he said. “You’ve got to see this.”
I hurried down the hallway, eager to see what had him so excited. When I turned into the room where Alex was standing, my jaw dropped.
“Alex,” I said. “It’s exactly the same as how you left it. It hasn’t changed a bit.”
A huge smile crossed his face as he glanced around the room, eventually bringing his gaze to me. I watched as his eyes slowly began to fill with tears, the weight of his reality finally kicking in.
“This moment, right now,” he said. “This moment reminds of one between us ten years ago. It was right before I left to go to boot camp, before I knew that it would be years before I’d be home again.”
I nodded my head, emotion beginning to swell up inside of me.
“I remember that moment quite clearly,” I said. “I didn’t want you to go.”
Alex sat on his old bed and motioned for me to come sit next to him.
“I was so nervous,” he continued. “I didn’t want to go either. But I thought that I had to, in order to show you that I could be man enough to take care of us if we ever had a family. But once I got involved in Special Forces, it took over everything that I cared about. I became a new version of myself; one who only cared about the missions that were given to me by my superiors.”
As he spoke, he placed his hand on my lower back, moving it up and down my shirt. His touch felt amazing, immediately soothing the emotions inside of me.
“Alex, there are some things that I haven’t told you yet,” I said. “I made a promise to you that I would wait for you no matter what... But I didn’t wait.”
I reached into my pocket and pulled out my wedding ring, holding it in the air.
“I’m married, Alex,” I said.
Then I took a deep breath, looking him over. His blue eyes shined brightly in the daylight that was pouring in the window, just like they had 10 years before in the very same room.
“Why didn’t you tell me before?” he asked.
I put the ring back in my pocket and placed my hand around his waist, leaning my head against his muscular shoulder.
“I didn’t want to hurt you,” I said. “And I didn’t want to lose you. It was selfish and unfair for me not to tell you, though, and I’m sorry.”
Alex stood up from the bed on his good foot. I thought he was angry at first, and I would have understood if he was. So I was surprised when he turned around to face me. He then leaned forward, placing his hands on the topside
of my thighs. His face was just inches from my own as he spoke.
“Do you love him?” he asked.
I didn’t have a good answer, so I stayed silent.
“The fact that you don’t have an answer tells me everything I need to know,” he said.
Our eyes met and immediately, I felt like I was being sucked into his sexual trance once again, the same one that I had succumbed to several times before and that I had no control over whatsoever.
Before I could utter a sound, Alex leaned forward and pressed his lips against mine. Immediately, a tingle shot through my body and I moaned softly out of surprise. I didn’t skip a beat, though, despite the fact that I knew it was wrong. I opened my mouth, allowing his tongue inside. Then I brought my hands to his face, feeling his thick beard underneath my fingers.
Alex...how do you do this to me every time?
As we kissed, Alex brought one of his hands to my stomach, gently pressing forward, causing me to relax back onto the bed. Then he crawled on top of me, his muscular body making me feel tiny in comparison. I moved my hands to the bottom of his t-shirt, pulling it up just enough so that I could touch his muscular abs. As my fingers moved up and down his stomach, Alex began to grind his crotch against mine. Immediately, I noticed a bulge that was beginning to grow underneath his jeans.
I slowly pulled my face away from his and looked him in the eyes.
“You do realize that this is all I wanted all those years ago, right?” I asked. “I wanted you, just like this, in this very room.”
Alex smirked and responded, “Well, I guess I was a little late. But better late than never, right?”
I giggled and rolled my eyes. Alex brought his face to my neck and began to tease me with his lips, kissing the skin from my ear to my shoulder. I breathed in quickly, as I began to get turned on.
As Alex kissed my neck, I brought my hands to his arms, moving them up toward his shoulders and feeling his massive muscles underneath my fingertips. Each muscle was perfectly toned and rock hard. He was the only person I had ever seen in real life that was in that kind of shape. It was hard to believe that he was the same person I grew up with.
Alex moved his lips across my chest and kissed the top of my cleavage. Then he brought his hand to the bottom of my shirt and quickly pulled it up over my breasts, exposing them to the air.
