  Chapter One

“So she looks at me right in my eyes and says, ‘I don’t sleep with my bosses.’ And I swear to God, she has the most adorable hick accent I’ve ever heard.” Asher tries to do the accent yet again, and fails miserably.

“That’s not what she sounds like,” I counter. I sigh loudly, and take another drink of wine. This is probably the third, or fourth, time I’ve heard this story since Asher promoted the young woman to be his executive assistant three months ago. Yes, he’s told it to a different group every time, but I’ve heard it. Every. Fucking. Time. Fuck only knows how many times he’s told it when I wasn’t around.

“And she has on this dress,” he says, before he pauses.

He closes his dark eyes with each telling, as if he can still see her in it. The expression on his full dusky lips is priceless. He’s trying to frown, but the obvious joy he feels at the memory causes his lips to tip up at the corners. He does that when he watches me get undressed when he’s said we don’t have time to fuck, or when I visit him in his office when he’s stressed, to give him a quick and dirty orgasm. I don’t want him thinking of someone else with that look on his face. It’s my look, and no one else’s.

Everyone around the table is staring at him, waiting for him to continue. He has everyone captivated, as he usually does. He doesn’t often tell stories, and it’s his happiness at telling this one that causes everyone to listen. He’s usually the reserved one in the bunch, so when he gets going, it’s always fun to watch.

“And the dress is modest, don’t get me wrong. But she has the biggest, roundest, most beautiful tits I’ve ever seen, and no matter how hard she tries, she just can’t hide them. The dress would look almost boring on any other woman, but all I can do is stare at her cleavage, so I understand why she says it. But still, the first thing that comes out of your mouth during an interview? To your potential new boss? Come on girl!”

He shakes his head. His dark eyes light up and he finally smiles brightly, showing his perfectly straight white teeth. I can see the men sitting around the table are a little confused. My best friend, Todd, looks from me to Asher and asks, “What did you do?”

“I hired her, of course,” Asher replies, with a deep chuckle. “I don’t want to worry about an executive assistant who is constantly trying to hit on me. I shudder to remember what happened the last time.” He looks at me as he says it, and I suppress a laugh.

“I have never wanted to motorboat a woman as bad as I want to her,” Asher continues, and he looks almost guilty. I take a sip of wine and return his gaze. I try not to let my jealousy show. “A few days ago, she knocks on my door, and says, ‘Mr. Glass, yer so tense, and I just don’t liiike it. So I have a surprise fer ya.’ And I am completely stunned, wondering what the hell is about to happen. Then she moves away from my door, and she invites a masseuse into my office.” He’s still staring at me, because I know what he wants when he’s been working too hard, and it’s not a massage.

“She sounds like a dream come true,” Todd murmurs, just before he turns his attention to me again. “Was the masseuse male or female?”

“He was a big, brawny man. And he was fantastic at his job,” Asher finishes with a wide grin.

“So does she know?” Todd’s new man asks.

I hold in a groan. I’ve heard this one before as well.

  “Oh, I told h
er when she tried to set me up with a friend from the Accounts Receivable department for the fifth time. I told her, Charlie, I’m not interested in women. She looked up at me with her big blue eyes and said, ‘But whyyyy?’ And I told her, because I prefer men.” I finally smile at him. The corners of his lips tip up, as he raises his wine glass to me. “And she said, ‘Oh, my Gawd! Whyyyy? Yer soooo good lookin’!’”

I roll my eyes at him. “You have got to stop trying to do her accent. She doesn’t sound like that at all.”

Todd’s eyes are again on me. “What does she look like?”

I clear my throat, and take a sip of water. I hate to admit she’s beautiful, and really good at her job. She definitely tries hard to make everything easier on Asher, which makes my life easier as well. So I say, “She’s pretty enough.”

But Asher disagrees. “She’s gorgeous. She has an amazing hourglass figure, and an ass that…” He doesn’t finish his sentence. I guess he can see the fireballs shooting at him from my eyes.

Todd laughs awkwardly, as does everyone else around the table. We enjoy this restaurant, and we usually come here for our weekly get together. We almost always have four couples at our dinners, but somehow Asher always ends up at one end, and I end up at the other. We are the couple who has been together longest, after all. We’ve lasted two and a half years. And Asher Glass is the king wherever he goes. His family is rich and all, but Asher has taken it to the next level. And besides that, he’s gorgeous. He has unblemished pale skin, brown hair, and the blackest eyes I’ve ever seen in my life. Every time I look into his eyes, I shiver. He is absolutely spectacular. If I’d never seen him in the sunlight, I’d swear he was a vampire. But, he’s just a fortunate result of good breeding, with his mother’s pale skin and his father’s dark hair, and the darkest eyes imaginable.

We each put down cash when the bill is delivered, but Asher pays as usual. He leaves the cash that was placed on the table for the tip. That’s one of the reasons we are welcomed so warmly and taken such good care of each week. No one even looks our way when we hold hands, or when one of the couples kisses at the table. And although Asher is not officially out of the closet even though his family and friends all know, no one talks about the billionaire financier who hangs out with his gay friends nearly every Tuesday.

As Asher starts the engine on his expensive Italian sports car, I reach over to kiss his cheek. And then I whisper in his ear, “If you talk about Charlotte Hall one more time, I’m never letting you touch my dick again.”

He turns toward me, is so close to me that our noses almost touch, and says, “I don’t have to touch your dick to fuck your ass.” After he says it, the tip of his tongue sneaks out and licks my lips.

I would laugh if his flirting wasn’t so adorable, and so out of character. He’s as reserved in public as he is in bed. He’s bookish, more intelligent than anyone could ever imagine, is practically a savant with numbers, and has a hard time relating with normal people. So, this tiny flirtation is rare. But Asher being this assertive is shocking.

“As if you’d ever fuck my ass, lover,” I counter. He’s about to say something, when I grab the back of his neck, pull him toward me, and shove my tongue past his lips. He exhales loudly with a moan at my forcefulness, and sucks in my tongue hungrily.

When I pull away, he takes a moment to lick his lips before he opens his eyes, which are dark as sin yet glittering with emotion even in the darkness of the car. “Are you jealous?” he asks, and my stomach muscles clench.

I am jealous. Fuck, I’m jealous of a woman. A beautiful woman, I’ll give him that, but she’s still a woman.

I’ve been burned in the past, and I’ve always said I’d never go for a straight guy again. I don’t even date bi guys. Asher has given me absolutely no indication that he is attracted to women, until he met Charlie. Now, he mentions her at least once a day, commenting on how good she looked or how well she completed a task.

So I’ll never tell Asher exactly how jealous I am. Instead, I say, “I’m not jealous of anyone, because it’s me who’s going to be fucking you as soon as we get home.” I take his hand, and place it on my cock. It’s not as hard as it could be, if we weren’t talking about Charlie yet again. “But first, I’m going to shove it so far down your throat you’re going to forget anyone but me.”

He shivers then, and his hand tightens around my shaft. “I can’t wait,” he murmurs.

My cock jerks against his hand. “Good. Then drive.” I smile as he puts the car in gear. He drives home with one hand on the steering wheel, and the other on my cock. I don’t know if he’s playing a game right now, or what. I don’t know if he’s trying to use Charlie to make me jealous, or if he seriously has a crush on his female assistant. Either way, I don’t like it.

I want to be the only person he thinks about, or fantasizes about. I want to be wedged so far into his heart that he forgets everyone but me.

I am extremely jealous. Because I’m in love. And I won’t give him up for anything in the world.

  Chapter Two

I’m glad my boss is out of town until Friday. I get so much more done when he’s not around. I’ve never been so stressed as I am when he has a deadline. It’s not like he has to score big deals for the money. He has more than enough of that. He just enjoys the challenge, and he tenses up so much before a deal goes through that my butthole puckers.

He’s only gonna be gone two days, but I’ve already cleared off my desk, went through my email, and scanned in all of his contracts for the month. All of that and it’s only noon. I feel like I’ve accomplished more in four hours than I do in a week when he’s in the office.

Asher Glass is demanding. He’s meticulous. He asks me to read through each contract, take notes he’ll never read again, and listen to every issue he has. I love working for him, and I hate it at the same time.

Really, I’m glad to have a job at all. When the bank I worked for in West Virginia was purchased by Glass Investments, I was afraid I’d be unemployed. It’s scary to be a single mom and go from having a dream job to having no job at all. I was the executive assistant for the CEO of Oakleaf Bancorp, and I was making pretty good money doin’ it. And then, the fear of not being able to support my daughter crept in when I found out about the deal with Glass Investments.

Thankfully, I was one of only two of the employees from Oakleaf to be offered a job with the new owner at his headquarters, but I had to take a demotion and a pay cut, and move from Morgantown, West Virginia to Wilmington, Delaware. The perks I was offered were stock options, three weeks’ vacation, and benefits. It was too good to turn down. I mean, stock options with Glass Investments? Just that could pay for Elise’s college in ten years, and my retirement.

The drive is less than five hours, which is manageable if I want to go back home for a long weekend, but not so much if I have an emergency and need my mom. We’ve managed so far, for the six months we’ve lived here. Elise is a big girl now, she just turned eight years old. She understands that she has to go to daycare after school, and she likes to help her teachers with the younger kids.

Plus, I got a moving bonus, assistance with the security deposit on my apartment, and my first month’s rent. It was a scary decision to make as a single mom, but it was also too good to pass up.

I’d met the gorgeous and aloof Asher Glass during the acquisition. I brought him lunch several times when he was personally going over the books. I took a shirt to the dry cleaners when he spilled soy sauce on it. And when the purchase was complete, and he was headed back to Glass Tower in Wilmington, he asked my name. Two weeks later, when other employees were getting their pink slips, an envelope arrived with my name on it. Inside it was an offer to come to work in the Accounts Receivable department at the home office.

So when Mr. Glass’s assistant decided to retire early, I put in my bid for the job. I had hoped he would remember me, but he probably meets so many people and sees so many faces, I was sure he wouldn’t. He surprised me whe
n he looked at me and immediately said, “Oakleaf.” Just the idea that he knew who I was, that he actually remembered me, amazed me.

Working with him every day would be hard as hell, and I thought I was prepared for it. He’s dark and brooding, and just too good looking for words to describe. And he’s a multi-billionaire. But I set him straight from the beginning, and informed him there wouldn’t be any hanky panky goin’ on. The funny thing about that is that nuthin’ is gonna set Asher Glass straight, and I don’t mind it one bit. I like it that I don’t have to worry about all that sexual tension and stuff with him. Not that I don’t feel it, because I do. I feel it every day. But I know that it’s just my reactions to him, and it’s not reciprocated.

So I head down to the cafeteria on the fourth floor, from the tenth floor, where my luxurious office is located right beside Mr. Glass’s, thinking about Mr. Glass. Asher.

When I first met him, I thought he had to be wearing dark contacts. I was a little freaked out, to be honest. Pictures show his brown hair and dark eyes, but seeing him in person he almost looks ethereal. His eyes are so dark they almost have no iris. His eyes are practically black. And he’s just so damn magnetic, I want to be around him, and please him, and see the corners of his lips tip up when I do something to make him happy.

I’m sitting down at one of the tables, eating a salad, when I hear a deep rich voice ask, “Is this seat taken?” I glance around the dining room, which holds about forty tables, and see that half of them are empty. Then I look up at the person standing near the chair across from mine, and I find Peyton Waits staring back at me. He’s the VP of Acquisitions, and apparently Mr. Glass’s personal friend.

“No, please have a seat Mr. Waits.” I look him in the eye as I say it. He’s good looking, with pretty hazel eyes and short sandy brown hair, and he looks fairly well built under that conservative suit, but he’s no Asher Glass. “How are ya doin’ today?” I ask, to be friendly. I also give him a big smile, to put him at ease. It’s a trick my momma taught me. She was a stripper when she was younger, before she had me, so I guess she knows how to handle men.
