Coming Home: Dominant Devils Book 2

There it was. That was the reason my girl was running. Jealousy was getting the best of her. She loved the fucker and had to watch him fuck around with all the loose pussy the club bunnies had to offer. I’ve been there before and it’s not a place I’d wish on my worst enemy. It might be easier to get Madison to understand Hunter then what I thought. Lord knows the last words Diamond spoke to me are what sent me running in the middle of the night all those years ago. Facing that bitch is going to be harder than facing Axle when I went home. I could deal with Axle’s rage easier than I could listening to Diamond giving me a play by play of the fun she had with the man who owned my heart.
Five years ago next month I took off leaving everyone behind. That night Axle had let me know he was tired of sneaking around. He was going to my father in the morning to ask for his permission to claim me. I was finally going to be an old lady. I listened to him make promises of love and a ring. He told me how we would settle down and make a life for ourselves in the years to come. We were going to enjoy life to the fullest until we couldn’t anymore. I was over the moon even if his plans didn’t include my love of music. That night I couldn’t sleep after the wild round between the sheets with the love of my life. He fell asleep holding me while I lay in the darkness of his room. I didn’t want to wake him with my nervous fidgeting so I decided to get up and make myself a glass of milk. I walked into the kitchen at the clubhouse to find a half-naked Diamond sipping on a soda at the corner table. I can still remember every word of that conversation. The conversation that sent me running far away from everything Braxton O’Shea.
“Earth to Avery! Stop zoning out on me girl. We’re back. Get your ass out of the car,” Trevor said with his hand wrapped around an inebriated Madison.
“Sorry, I didn’t realize we were back already. Can she walk?”
“I’m fine Avery. I’m only slightly drunk but my feet are fucking killing me. I don’t know how you walk all day in these damn boots. There cute as shit but they should come with a damn warning label for your feet,” Madison informed me.
I chuckled a bit to myself because I had to agree with her. The first time I wore those boots Trevor had to rub my feet for days. It’s the price you pay for a sexy pair of stiletto boots. “Awe poor baby. I’m sure Trevor can make ya feel better with a nice foot rub.”
“Oh no you don’t. Don’t get me wrapped up in that shit again. If women would stop trying to grow six inches with a set of heels they wouldn’t need foot massages. Ain’t happening captain,” Trevor quickly threw back.
“Whatever let’s get back to the bus. I’m ready for my kami and sleep shorts. It’s time for my ass to get to bed,” I said to them while thinking of my baby boy who was on the bus with Layla and Ben. I’ll let him sleep on their bus tonight so I can spring my news on Madison now that she seems in a more relaxed state then before. It was now or never because tomorrow as soon as we stopped I would be bringing Hunter back to our bus.
Trevor’s words brought my attention to the shadows lurking in the dark. “Can I help you gentlemen with something. Unless you have a pass this part of the parking lot is closed off.”
“Yeah, you most certainly can help us you fucking fairy. Hand over the girls and walk the fuck away. Do something stupid and I’ll be sure to make your ass bleed out from your dick,” a nasty looking man shot back, moving into the light from the dark corner of the parking lot. He and his buddy both had guns drawn on us. This couldn’t be fucking happening. Not now. I was frozen. Scared shitless and had no clue as to what to do.
“Now you see, I might be what you call a fairy, you nasty fucks, but I can’t willingly hand over these beautiful ladies to the likes of you. Why don’t you go back to where you came from and we’ll forget you were even here,” Trevor answered back.
The two guys began laughing as they made their way closer. It didn’t take long for me to notice they were wearing leather cuts. These fuckers must have something to do with what was going on back home. How the fuck did they find me? Then it clicked. They must have been tailing Madison. How else would they know we were here?
“Suit yourself fag but, don’t say I didn’t warn you,” nasty fucker number one said as he moved closer to Madison with his gun still pointed at Trevor. I chanced a look at Madison looking for direction on how to handle this. She shook her head slightly letting me know to stand down. I waited for her move. She was better at this shit than I was. I’d never back down from a fight but she definitely had more practice than me.
In what seemed like mere seconds, a gun shot rang out and Trevor lay on the gravel holding his bleeding leg cussing and screaming at the asshole who shot him. Before he had another chance to fire off again Madison stepped up punching the dirt bag in the throat. Asshole number one dropped the gun to hold his throat while trying to catch his breath. Madison dropped down to pick up the gun but the second asshole was on top of her. Before I could jump on his back, the fucker smacked her with the butt of the gun knocking her out cold.
With me on his back clawing, biting and refusing to let go, asshole number two used a different measure. I guess he knew he wasn’t getting me off his back willing and began ramming into the side of the bus while throwing his elbows in my face. After the third time of him ramming backwards into the wall of the bus my gripped loosened but his did to on the gun. I fell from his back to the ground but before I could move towards the gun he dropped the asshole started kicking the shit out of me. Fuck this shit hurts! Where the hell was security?
Before asshole number one could join his friend they were scared off when Harvey and Ben came barreling in. Before my favorite two guys could get to them the assholes took off into the darkness of the parking lot.
“Avery, girl, are you okay? Are you shot,” a frantic Ben questioned me.
“Get Trevor. I’ll be fine. Madison and I are just banged up. They shot him in the leg.” Ben looked at me for a second more before moving to Trevor. Ben tore his shirt off to use for a tourniquet on Trevor’s leg. Trevor must have made another one of his lewd comments about Ben’s bare chest because I overhead Ben threatening to let him bleed out so he could put his shirt back on. Thank god my bestie was still talking but Madison was still quiet.
I managed to get myself up. I needed to check on my girl. God damn I hurt everywhere. I was going to be feeling this shit for a few days. I finally made my way over to Madison as she was coming to. “Are you ok chickie? Your scaring the fuck out of me,” I asked a disoriented Madison.
“I’ll be fine. Just going to be one hell of a headache in the morning. Is that sirens I hear?”
I heard them too. Good they could get all of us to the hospital to get checked out. “It sounds like it. Looks like we’ll all have a trip to the ER in our future.”
Madison started to panic. “We can’t go to the ER. They’ll now we’re there. We’ve got to get out of here Avery. We gotta go home. This shit has found us now no one here is safe with us around.”
“What the fuck do you mean Madison? We’re in no shape to drive. Those fuckers are long gone by now. We’ll be fine girl. Just try to relax,” I said trying to comfort her and myself. She was right. If this was because of the club they wouldn’t stop til they had what they were after, us.
“Avery we have to go,” Madison said as she got herself upright. “If we don’t get out of here now the cops will have us for questioning and god knows what else. We need to leave and we need to leave now.”
I looked over to Ben as he was sitting with Trevor. By the look in his eye I could tell he had been eavesdropping. “She’s got a point Avery. I can call in a few guys but I’m not equipped to cover you two and the other girls. If this shit is related to what you have back home, I’m not sure home is safe for you either. You’re the only one that can make that choice. If your leaving you need to do it quickly. Those sirens are close. I’ll think of something to tell the cops.”
“Ben I can’t leave Trevor like this. He’s been shot,” I argued. I went to Trevor’s side
taking his hand in mine.
“I’ll be fine sweet cheeks. If you’re going, get your ass out of here. Don’t stop until you get to that damn family of yours. I’ll check in with you in a few days. Be careful bitch. I love you,” Trevor told me through gritted teeth. He was in pain but still trying to be the hard ass.
“Avery come on we’ve got to get out of here. We need to snatch a vehicle and role girl. We’ll send someone back to pick Trevor up. He can stay with us while he’s recovering and shit.”
“Go Avery. I’ll make sure someone is with Trevor at all times. No one will get close to him if I can help it. Madison’s GTO is parked over by our bus. I had just come out to help Harvey get it loaded when we heard the gun shot. Keys are still in it. Just get in the fucking car and get moving!”
By now the sirens where in the parking lot. Madison stood up to pull me with her. Reluctantly I let go of my best friend’s hand and went with her. Madison and I moved towards Layla and Ben’s bus as quickly as we could. With her still woozy from the blow to the head and my body on fire from being kicked over and over we weren’t moving very fast. Luckily for us we were over to the bus by the time the cops and ambulance made it to the guys. Madison moved to go to the car but I stopped her.
“Avery we don’t have time for good-byes babe. We need to get some distance between here and home. It won’t take those fuckers long to realize we aren’t at the hospital or with the cops. The sooner we leave the better,” Madison pleaded.
“I have to go on the bus first. I won’t be but a minute. Go ahead and get in the car. I’ll drive but I have to grab something before we leave,” I said feeling guilty about referring to Hunter as “something”.
“We don’t have time for this. We need to go. What the fuck is so important that they can’t hold it for you or mail it back home to you? Get your head out of your ass woman and let’s get the fuck out of here.”
“I have to get something. We need money and some ibuprofen. I’ll be right back. Just get in the car and I’ll be right back,” I snapped as I turned towards the bus.
Madison grabbed my arm harshly and began pulling me towards the car away from the bus. “You’re going to get your ass in this car and we are fucking leaving right now!”
I tried not to lash out but it didn’t work. I didn’t want her to find out this way but oh fucking well. “Let me go. Get your fucking hands off of me. I CAN’T LEAVE WITHOUT MY SON GOD DAMMIT!”
With those words the bitch finally let me go. In a state of shock, she just stood there as I turned to head towards the bus. I would get my son and we would be gone. She would just have to wait a damn minute. A frantic Layla was standing at the open door of the bus.
“What the hell is going on Avery? Are you okay? I heard a gunshot and now a bunch of sirens. What the fuck am I missing?”
“Ben will explain when he gets back Layla. I need to get Hunter and then I’ve got to split. I’m headed home where its safe. I can’t stay here and put everyone in danger. With the commotion going on out front I should be able to put a good amount of distance between here and there before they realize Madison and I aren’t on our way to the hospital,” I told her quickly. I walked in the bus to find Hunter curled up in his favorite blanket on their couch. I wasted no time scooping my boy up in my arms to carry him out. I began walking back towards a now quiet Layla who was still standing in front of the door to the bus waiting for me.
“I’ll call you as soon as I get there. I promise everything will be okay. If anyone ask we took off in the middle of the night leaving you a note telling you I quit. Now if you have any loose cash around here that would be great being I can’t go back over to my bus to collect my things.”
Layla went down the hall to her bedroom. When she came back it was with a wad of cash. “Take it. I’m not sure how much is here but it should be enough to get you where you need to go,” Layla said as she pulled me and a sleeping Hunter in for a hug. After kissing us both on the forehead she pulled back for her last words. “Be careful. Watch out for my little dude and I will be to visit once the coast is clear. I love you, girl, both of you. If you need anything at all you call us. Now get your ass out of here before the pigs’ start snooping around for witnesses.”
“I love you too,” I said slipping out the door. I stayed close to the bus as I walked over to the car. Madison was already in the passenger seat. I opened the driver’s side door while Madison pushed the seat forward. For now, I just lay a sleeping Hunter across the back seat. When we stop I’ll wake him to buckle him in but not now.
With Hunter in the backseat I jumped up front. I turned the key in the ignition and took the back way out of the arena. Madison was silent for what felt like an eternity. When I finally made it to the interstate I couldn’t take it anymore. “Say something dammit. I can’t do the silent treatment.”
“I thought you said there was no one else but my brother Avery. You lied to me. Why would you lie? Hell, why did you stay away with a kid that no one knows about? Did you think we wouldn’t support you? If you did, you need your fucking head examined.” Madison said quietly as to not wake Hunter.
“That’s not exactly why I stayed away. There’s more to it than that. I just couldn’t. All hell is going to break loose when we get back and he’s going to be caught up right in the middle of it. I’ve tried to keep him away from the drama that will come. I’m not sure when you get a good look at him if you’ll be so inclined to help me Madison. Just promise me you will let me explain everything before you lose your cool. I don’t want him seeing that shit.”
“I might be a lot of things but I’m not reckless enough to flip in front of kids if I can help it. Now how bout you get to the explaining part of this conversation. We’ve got at least a four-hour ride. That’s plenty of time for you to fill me in.”
Here goes nothing. With my eyes on the road and steering wheel in hand I took a deep breath before spilling my best kept secret. “I wasn’t lying when I said Braxton has been my one and only. Hunter is your nephew Madison”.
Chapter 5
Axle
After the day’s events to say I was exhausted would be an understatement. I’ve been up for almost two days straight only catching a nap slumped over my best friend’s make shift hospital bed. Now here I sit hashing out the early events of the day with the rest of the crew. Carrin and Athena were back. The mess with the shoot-out was cleaned up and the officials paid off to make it look like a high jack gone wrong. I was ready for this fucking day to be over, yet here I sit at the head of the table at damn near midnight and I knew I wouldn’t be finding any sleep for a while. My best friend was itching to ask the question I knew was coming. Now that he was patched up and his sister was back where she belonged he was itching to find out why Madison wasn’t around. I’d deal with that in a few. Right now I needed to zone back in on the debate unfolding at my meeting table.
"And that would be...." Tank said waiting for Zeus’ response.
"Why Denver? I mean there's chapters a hell of a lot closer to us than that. I never realized til now that every cut today we saw on those cock suckers says Denver."
Before anyone else could speak I broke in. I needed to put this shit to bed for a few hours or we would be here til this time tomorrow night hashing this shit out. "Point taken. I guess we'll have to ask our visitor tomorrow won't we? I'm with you though, it seems like all this shit has to deal with someone or something that happened in Denver. I'll put the word out and see if the local Grizzlie fucks know anything. For all we know they don't even know their playing in their own backyard. I mean Athens and Kingstree are only a couple hour drive from here. Close enough they should have let them know but far enough away to go unnoticed. Anybody got anything else before I shut this shit down," I said knowing what was coming next.
"Yeah Prez I got something. Where the fuck is Madison? What aren’t you fuckers telling me," Wall asked and the room fell silent. And there it was. The question of the hour. The one everyone was avoiding the a
nswer to.
Without answering Wall's question, I told everyone to get some sleep but to be back at the clubhouse by noon tomorrow. We would need to get back to digging into shit. With a slap of the gavel the meeting was over. I waited for everyone to leave the room before turning to my wounded friend.
“She’s not here brother. She took off last night before the girls went missing,” I said as calmly as I could. Instead of sitting back and waiting for Wall to lose his shit I reached into my cut and pulled out the note. The note my sister left begging for time away. Time away she needed because the fucker in front of me was too stupid to go after what they both wanted.
“Before you say another word you need to listen to this asshole. After I read you every last word on this piece of paper you’re going to tell me what exactly happened last night. You’re gonna tell me what was so bad that my sister decided to disappear into thin air. You feel me dick head?”
“Yeah I got you. Let’s get the fuck on with this. I’m dying over here brother. Something isn’t sitting well with me. I have this bad feeling that something bad is going to happen to her and I won’t be there to do shit about it,” Wall said while barely holding his sanity.
“Okay listen up fucker. I’m only gonna read this once.” I read every word of my sister’s letter, nice and slow, letting it sink into the asshole sitting next to me. I hope like hell this might would get through his thick ass skull.
Hey guys! I wanted to leave you some love before I ran off into the night. I beg you to please let me do this. I'm not sure where I'm heading. I only know that I need a few weeks to clear my head. Please know that I'll be back but I need some time to get my head on straight. To be honest with you I'm at a weak point in my life and you guys know that it's not like me. I can't crumble in front of you all, so please give me the time and the space to put myself back together. I'll be sure to check in with you all in a few days. I love you all with every ounce of me. Make sure you give my little diva kisses every day for me.
