Also at Amazon, Nikki Sprinkle the marketing manager and Jessica Poore who deals with author relations deserve thanks for all their input.

I want to acknowledge the invaluable help of my agents at Dystel & Goderich Literary Management. Jane Dystel and Miriam Goderich have been consistently supportive and quick to respond to questions. I am grateful for the benefit of their experience, professionalism, and advice.

Finally, I am very fortunate in having the support of my family, especially that of my dear husband who is not only understanding about the connection between household disruption and a writing woman, but who generously says that in the long run, the writing matters more.

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Helen Bryan was born in Virginia, grew up in Tennessee, and is a longtime resident of London. A former barrister, she is the author of an award-winning biography of Martha Washington. She was inspired to write War Brides “by the true war-time stories of family and friends in the United States and England, and by the little known stories of the brave young women who joined Churchill’s Special Operations Executive.” This is her first novel.
