Felix went to the restroom and stopped at the counter on his way out to purchase a cup of coffee before heading back to the Hummer. When he climbed in, the scent of her perfume lingered, and it took all his willpower not to roll all over the passenger seat. Woodsy, like cedar and lavender. Probably the sexiest thing he’d ever smelled. He glanced back at the doughnut shop, noticing the empty lobby. She’d probably gone into the lady’s room to fiddle with her dress, which belonged in a Vegas strip show instead of on her decadent body.

Whatever. He needed to let her go. She’d never been his to keep, anyway. Felix put the Hummer in gear and pulled out, watching in his rearview mirror, hoping for one last glance at Tierney.
