  They chose the midnight before the Beltane celebrations for their wedding. Aoife presided, and half the population of Celestials and Benevolents attended.

  The wedding of Hugh and Meleri was something even Humans spoke of, although they didn’t understand what they saw. Many said it was the Northern Lights showing farther south than usual. All they knew was that a streaming of different colored lights rippled across the sky from midnight until nearly dawn.

  Celestial weddings tended to have flittering dances high in the sky, the steps resembling shapes of constellations. The guests were dressed in glittering finery, making a spectacular show.

  At the end, when Hugh and Meleri dashed from the party to a place deep in the woods, what Humans were awake then thought they saw a shooting star. If they wished upon it, it is hoped they wished the couple well.
