He turned a dark glance upon her, but after a moment a gleam of amusement replaced it. Ignoring the old woman, he caught her arms and dragged her against his chest, dipping his head to silence her with a leisurely kiss that made her temperature rise.

“You should wait till you’re wed, else she’ll be dropping your heir before a decent interval.”

Breaking the kiss reluctantly, Daigon murmured, “Go away, Zella. Rhiannon and I have much to--discuss.”

She sniffed. “It won’t bother me. In my time we knew how to have fun.”

“Old pervert!” he muttered, dragging kisses along Rhiannon’s throat.

“Fine, randy young buck! But don’t say I didn’t warn you! A pretty sight she’ll be waltzing down the aisle with a swollen belly. I’ll just go see if Climaus managed to break your spell in time to save his winkled old hide. If he wants to duel, I’m game.”

Daigon broke off long enough to fix his grandmother with a glare. “I don’t suppose it’s possible to send you back?”

She snorted, but then smiled wickedly. “You’ll figure it out--eventually. You always do.”
