“It’s lucky it was still there,” I say, feeling blessed that she’s given me such a sentimental gift.
“I wanted to give it to you as I know you’d appreciate it just as much as I do, and perhaps you can hang it back on the wall in your office next to Dad’s picture, where it used to be.”
“I love that idea. It’ll be great to have a piece of Ed in the office, and hopefully giving us as much good luck as it can. Thank you, so much. It’s a wonderful gift.” I lean forward, placing my lips on hers.
“You’re welcome. I wanted to give it to you in private, so I could explain it to you.”
I stand from the couch and walk over to the Christmas tree and collect my gift that I’ve hidden toward the back. The bright red paper makes it stand out, though. As I bend down to collect it, I make out like it’s a lot heavier than it is, and grunt as I pick it up, adding a bit of a stagger as I walk back to the couch, and place it on the coffee table. I give Georgia a sly smile. “This one’s for you.”
Georgia will have quite a few Christmas presents. Some that benefit us both like a furniture voucher so we can go and choose a larger couch and matching chairs, and a more personal one of black lingerie, complete with suspenders. Maybe that one’s more for me.
She jumps up from the couch and takes a big step, so she’s standing right at the side of the coffee table. There’s no dawdling when it comes to unwrapping the parcel. Georgia rips at the paper, throwing it behind her. She reaches the box, and pulls at the tape, lifting the flaps.
One open.
She peeks inside only to see a second box. I see her eyebrow raise and can’t help but laugh. She looks at me and squints her eyes.
“Are you playing a trick on me?” she asks.
“Not at all. Keep going, sweetheart.”
She pulls the next box out of the first and starts the whole process again. I didn’t want to frustrate her, but I can tell she’s getting that way.
“Last one,” I tell her, hoping it will take a little of the frustration out of it. I thought I was being funny and tricking her, but maybe it was a dumb idea after all.
After pulling open the last box, she lifts out the smaller present, wrapped in the same red paper with a matching bow.
She rips at that too, finally opening the travel documents. Her face tells me she’s puzzled at first, but she soon realizes what it is, and a huge grin spreads across her face.
“You got us a trip to the Bahamas? Oh, my goodness. Are you kidding me?” She spins to face me, her expression growing with excitement.
“It’s no joke. We leave in the new year.”
“That’s amazing.” She grins, but it doesn’t last long.
“What’s wrong?” I ask. I have no idea what the matter could be.
“My passport expired a while ago, and I’ve never had it renewed,” she sadly says.
“That’s not a problem. We can get all of that fixed up.”
I have an even bigger surprise planned for when we are in the Bahamas, and I can’t wait to begin to share our lives together in a magical place.
She wraps her arms around my neck, pulling me in for a kiss.
I never used to believe in serendipity. My life was so controlled and to a strict routine, but I’m so glad I made the snap decision and went to a different coffee shop. Otherwise, I may never have connected with Georgia again and never met my soul mate.
Life can sometimes throw you curveballs, and you just have to dodge them and continue forward as both Georgia and I have had to do. But we’ve stuck by each other and will continue to do so in the future.
If there’s one thing that Ed taught me, it’s that life is too short, and you need to treasure each moment and take every opportunity you’re presented with. If I hadn’t kissed Georgia that day, I may have still been wondering what-if and missed the love of my life.

Three Weeks Later…
Our car pulls up at the front of this glorious hotel, The Ocean Club, in the Bahamas. I still don’t believe this is happening. The scenery is simply stunning, creamy white sand, majestic water, and the most perfectly manicured lawns and gardens I’ve ever seen. A grin’s been plastered on my face since before we left home for the airport, and I have so much nervous, yet excited, energy coursing through my veins.
A gentleman opens the door for me, I slide out, collecting my handbag as I go, making sure my bare legs don’t touch the leather seats. Wouldn’t want a repeat of our first date.
Everything about this place is just beautiful from the scenery to the buildings, even the staff outfits are so crisp and white.
After checking in, the lady at the reception desk tells us to go back out the main entrance, and a golf cart will be waiting to take us to our villa.
A villa? Adam got us a villa.
I would have been more than happy with a broom closet at this place. It’s spectacular.
Our cart driver, Tyson, has loaded our luggage onto the back and drives us along a small path before going over a hill toward the beach. It looks like the villa is a separate building from the main hotel. Adam told me he’d requested this room as it has views to die for. But I honestly can’t imagine anything better than what I’m currently looking at—my gorgeous-as-ever boyfriend in his sexy chinos that I bought him for Christmas. I have to admit it’s nice to be out of our winter jackets and in spring-type clothing with only a light jacket be needed at night. Even with the temperature in the mid to high seventies, is much better than at home.
When I asked what was planned for the week we’re here, Adam told me just to relax and enjoy myself. Anything that needs planning has already been taken care of. I have no idea what he means by that, maybe a massage or something, but I’m going to do as I’m told.
Tyson pulls up and hops out of the cart. We get out too, and I instantly go to grab my luggage, but Tyson stops me saying it’s his job. I’m still not used to this type of thing, although I’m not uncomfortable about it anymore.
As the door is open, I quickly see this isn’t a room, it’s more like a small house. It’s definitely bigger than the guesthouse I once lived in. Walking in through the foyer, it opens out onto a large dining and living area. I’m told there are two bedrooms off to one side and the master off to the other.
Standing in the living area are two more staff members, Florence and Hope. Tyson explains that they are our staff for the time we are here. There will be two-night staff on call if we need them as well. There is also a chef who can cook in-house whenever we need him. Adam’s also arranged to have groceries delivered to the villa.
This is all too perfect.
“Why do we need three bedrooms, Adam?” I ask.
He doesn’t reply, his sly smile gives me my answer. I’m rather glad he didn’t answer my question in front of the staff, though.
This villa is elegant. The marble floors are stunning along with all of the décor. I can’t wait to sink into our heated infinity pool and take a walk to the private beach down our own little boardwalk. But I don’t feel out of place here. It has that homely feel, and I’m comfortable. I’d much prefer this than sitting on a balcony in the main hotel and being able to see your neighbor. Here, we can’t see anyone for miles.
I’ve been wanting to surprise Adam on this trip too, and I’m hoping I can find the perfect time. A while back, we had a conversation about birth control, and I wasn’t sure at the time if I wanted to get another shot. I was told we’d likely be safe for at least another month if we needed a little longer to think.
While I’m not sure how I’m going to bring this up, I’d love to ask Adam if he’s ready for us to have a baby. It’s taken a lot of thinking, but it feels right, and I’d love to see Adam holding our child in the near future. I’m hoping to arrange a lovely meal and have the conversation during that time.
Even though we haven’t been together a year, this feels right. I feel as though we’ve been together forever anyway, and this is the natural progression.
When you know, you know.
After unpacking, I slip into my bathing suit for a swim. Adam’s already in the pool when I arrive. I slide my robe off my shoulders, letting it fall to the floor. Being sexy isn’t exactly my strong suit, but I’m trying my hardest.
“Looking hot there,” he coos, referring to my new one-piece bathing suit with cut-outs over my stomach and sides.
I look to see no one is around before waggling my ass at him, biting one corner of my lip.
“Is it warm?” I ask.
He nods his head as his lips form a perfect ‘O’ before I slip into the crystal-clear warm water. The pool appears like it connects to the ocean, the water continuing on for as far as the eye can see.
“Come here, you sexy thing,” he mutters. He’s sitting on a ledge, so I wade through the water to him, and he scoops me into his arms. I can’t help but squeal when does it.
He places his lips on mine, gently massaging them before running his tongue along my soft skin, asking for an invitation. I oblige and open my mouth a little. Our tongues dance wildly together as our hands caress each other’s backs.
I quickly realize that Adam’s not wearing any board shorts, and I shake my head at him. I can’t believe he’s done it in broad daylight, even if we are very secluded. I wouldn’t trust it.
While I’d love to slide my bathing suit to the side and lower myself onto him, we agreed before we got here that if we were to do any pool action, it would be at night when we can be a little more concealed.
“Where are your board shorts?” I ask, crinkling my nose.
“Didn’t think I’d need them.” He winks at me, nodding toward a jet that’s not far from where he’s sitting. He smirks at me. “It feels rather nice.”
I let out a laugh before wrapping my arms around his neck and pulling myself onto his lap, making sure I sit on his actual lap, not on his crotch. This is too much of a temptation right now. An inch forward, and I’d be grinding hard on him.
Adam leans back and places a kiss on my nose. “How beautiful is this place?”
“It’s amazing,” I reply.
“I have a few surprises for you this week. Massages today. I thought we’d do a tour and have a romantic dinner that night. Then maybe relaxing for a few days in between and see what we want to do and what the weather’s like. I’ve hired out a private dining room for the final night, and their head chef will be cooking for us.”
“Ooh, sounds fancy,” I cheekily say, hoping that I can use the romantic dinner to slide my topic of a baby in there.
“It is. I do have to do a Skype call on Wednesday, though, unfortunately. It can’t be helped. I’ll need you in the background if that’s all right?”
I nod, agreeing, but it’s a strange request. I’ve never been asked to sit in on a Skype call or any kind of business meeting before. Perhaps it’s about my business idea. We’ve been waiting to hear back from potential investors. But I shrug it off. I want to enjoy every moment we’re here, and I’m going to start by teasing the shit out of my man.
I wriggle forward a little, grinding my pussy against his now-hard cock.
“That’s it you…” he growls in my ear. “You didn’t even last a couple of hours with your rules.”
“Too much temptation for me.” I shrug.
Adam’s hand sweeps down my back and between my legs. His fingers run along the Lycra of my bathing suit several times before gathering one side and pulling it across.
“Don’t ruin it,” I whisper before a moan escapes my lips. “Please.”
I move forward slightly and lower myself onto his length, allowing the nearby jet to rock us back and forth.
“Adam, I love you.”
“I love you, too. Do you want to go finish this inside, so I can remove that sexy swimming suit and see what’s underneath?”
I nod my head, eager to be writhing beneath him in pleasure. If this is the way the vacation is starting, then I can’t wait to see what the whole week will be like.

A Few Days Later…
After a beautiful island tour today starting with a catamaran cruise of Paradise Island Harbor and seeing the best of Nassau from both land and sea, we are now back and getting ready for a romantic meal to be prepared for us in our villa.
We’ve done so much this week already, and we are barely halfway through, although it’s still relaxing. We’re in no rush. From massages to quiet dinners and walks along the beach, I’ve enjoyed every precious moment with my beautiful girl.
My first huge surprise for the week will be tonight, followed by an even bigger one on our final night here when I take her to the private dining room. It’s going to blow her away.
Georgia suggested we get ready in separate rooms tonight and then arrive in the living room at the same time to make it seem like we are arriving for a romantic dinner date. It’s a little whimsical, but I like the idea. Although, I think Georgia was excited to have a bathroom to herself to get ready without any interruption from me. It’s not my fault that my sexy girlfriend strips down to next to nothing to change before we go out anywhere, and I take full advantage of that.
“Are you nearly ready?” her sweet voice calls from across the villa.
“I’m waiting for you,” I call back, standing from the bed, smoothing the cover and floral runner and walking to our open bedroom door.
“All right, I’m nearly done. Meet you in the living room in five.”
Knowing that five minutes will likely turn to ten, I decide to walk out to the dining room and see that the staff have set up a table for two on the veranda tonight. It’s a perfect night with a light sea breeze and a full moon, although I’m glad I’ve worn my long-sleeved shirt because there’s a slight chill in the air.
When I confirmed this reservation, I made sure to tell them that we are not having any form of alcohol this week and no alcohol is to be left in the villa. I’ve not been tempted nor thought about it at all in recent weeks, and I’m feeling I’m at the stage now where I think I can classify myself as sober again. It’s just safer not to have the enticement around.
I can’t help but admire the way the ocean looks tonight with the light of the moon dancing on the dark waves breaking near the shore. It’s as pretty as a picture. I could stand here for the longest time, mesmerized by the view.
“It’s so pretty tonight,” a soft voice says from behind me.
I spin around and am shocked by how gorgeous Georgia looks. She’s wearing a cream linen dress, gold buttons from bust to hem with rose gold spots all over and a matching jacket. It fits her perfectly. She’s even pulled her hair to one side tonight and secured it with a matching rose gold ribbon. Georgia’s taken my breath away.
“Wow,” is all I manage to say.
“Do you like?” she asks.
“You’re stunning. But you’re not going to get cold, are you?”
She giggles as she shakes her head as I walk up to her and cup her face in my hands, placing a kiss on her lips. We are interrupted by one of the staff clearing their throat behind us. I would never be rude to them as they are only doing their job, but they could have given us a second to greet each other.
“Please take a seat,” we’re told by Jeffrey, who looks to be our waiter this evening. He walks to a chair and holds it out for Georgia while I sit opposite her.
There are no menus tonight as we chose what we’d each have earlier today. I’m having the fish of the day while Georgia said she’s really missing Lucy’s cooking at the moment and ordered a chicken dish.
After we’ve been sitting for a while, and a small plate of garlic bread has been brought out, Georgia reaches across the table for my hand.
“Can I talk to you about something?” she asks.
This piques my interest but also puts me a little on edge. With the surprises I have lined up this week, I hope she’s doesn’t become aware and spoils them for herself.
“Sure, sweetheart. What’s up?” I ask, trying to be cool.r />
“So, a while ago, around Christmas, remember when I had to get the… you know… shot?” Her voice lowers at the end of the sentence.
“Yes, I remember that,” I reply.
“Well, we never really decided on what we’ll do… whether I stay off it or have the shot again. Anyway, I’ve had another reminder—”
“Did you have to do another test?” I ask with a slight chuckle remembering the first time she had to do one.
“No, not this time.” She grins. “But I’ve been thinking a bit about it lately, and I’m wondering… ooh, this is harder than I thought it would be...” She puffs out a few breaths.
“Are you trying to tell me something? Are you pregnant?” I know my smile has grown on my face.
“No. I’m not. If I were, I’d tell you straight, but I’m wondering if that’s something you’d be open to consider in the next little while? Maybe we can start trying soon?”
Woah! I can’t believe what I’m hearing. While I’m over the moon that she has thought about having a baby, it wasn’t long ago that she was telling me she wasn’t ready.
“Georgia, are you one hundred percent sure?”
“I am. The more I think about you holding your son or daughter, the more my ovaries start to ache. Lucy told me that’s a sign I’m getting clucky.”
A chuckle bursts from my throat. “Wow! Females have a lot more complicated thoughts than I ever knew.” She smiles as she shakes her head at what I’ve said. “Well, I’m all for it as long as you’re sure. If you want to wait another six months, two years, five years, I’ll happily support you.”
“So, we’re doing this? We’re going to try for a baby?”
I stand, and her expression changes instantly to one of confusion. I dig out the box that’s been burning a hole in my pocket for the last hour or so and take a step forward, closing the distance between Georgia and me. I take her hand in mine as I lower myself on to one knee.
