  The boys were then returned close to the place they'd been taken from, like nothing had happened.

  Todd ran the torch down behind the strip, creating a stuttering animation. The camera moved back quickly - someone had filmed this from a car or a van as it sped away. In the centre, the boy stood still and receded into the distance, as though he was being yanked backwards into the mist. He was still staring straight ahead, his expression like a question, right up until the moment he disappeared entirely.

  The camera captured that as well, Todd thought blankly.

  Showed it in place of credits.
