  “I’ll see you tonight…” she sighed. “Yes… Yes… I’m fine… Bye.”

She pressed her phone to end the call then dropped it from her hand.

  “Oh! Fuck!”

She yelled out like she was desperate for air. Seeing her squirm right in front of me only made me pump my cock even harder.

  “I’m gonna come… Mia…”

  “Give it to me…”

“I’m gonna give it to you… Every fucking drop…”

  “I want it…”

Both of her hands wrapped around the back of my neck. Her legs tightened around me. I kept holding her up, pounding her furiously until I felt it building up inside of me.

My balls tightened up against my body. My muscles were starting to get tired. My cock was ready to explode.

  “Mia…”

I grunted her name one last time then held my breath before finally losing control.

  “Give it to me… I don’t care…”

She closed her eyes. Her mouth half-open, a stifled moan caught in her throat before finally pushing its way out. Seeing the pleasurable agony on her face forced me over the edge.

  “Fuck…”

I grunted as my body seized up. I dug my boots into the ground as my knees wobbled from my orgasm. My hands tightened around her waist.

Her walls squeezed around my throbbing cock. The first pulse of cum was as thick as I’d ever felt before. The next that followed made my mind go blank.

  Then there was another.

  Then another.

  Then another.

Mia tightened around me as I kept spilling myself into her. She was so wet, so tight, so warm… I’d never had some pussy that was as good as hers.

I wanted to keep coming but eventually my body had to rest. I came back down the same as her. Mia had drained my soul completely.

I stared at her as I lowered her back down to the ground. A trickle of cum trailed down the inside of her thigh as she let her skirt fall back down. The entire time, we kept our eyes locked on each other.

I was hesitating. I even told myself that this wouldn’t be worth it. But after this, I didn’t regret it.

It didn’t matter that she was engaged to a man she didn’t want to be with. It didn’t matter who her father was. It didn’t matter that I was only supposed to watch over her.

  Mia was mine.

I moved back to her and another deep kiss sealed the feelings I had for her.

She let out a deep sigh and pressed her head against my chest. I wrapped my arms around her and held her close.

I had two more nights with Mia. I was gonna make every moment with her count.

  Chapter 11

  ROMAN

I sat in the diner with my fist pressed against my temple. The aroma of the coffee filled my nostrils. It was the only thing stopping me from falling asleep completely. I blinked my eyes to try and stay awake before they closed.

  “Wake up, sleepyhead.”

My eyes shot open. Sebastian tapped me on the shoulder then took a seat in front of me.

  “Long night, sunshine?”

I didn’t have the strength to roll my eyes at him. The motherfucker was in a good mood, which made his smirk even more annoying than usual.

  “You should know,” I said.

“I figured after you dropped the girl off with Burke that you’d get a good night’s sleep.”

  “Yeah, well, I guess I didn’t.”

I took a sip of coffee as I thought about all the shit that went down.

I did it. And I couldn’t get it out of my mind. Fucking Mia was the best feeling I had since I got out. I knew better than to get caught up, even if it was a girl like Mia. When a man used his dick to make decisions instead of his head, it only led to trouble. Sebastian would’ve killed me if he found out and I couldn’t blame him. Protecting Mia was business. Now it was something else.

“If you’re still worried about her, you shouldn’t be,” Seabass said. “Burke has personal security that can take care of her. The only reason he needs me around is during negotiations with the punks he’s doing business with. He can’t let the negotiations leak. I’m sure Mia is fine.”

“That’s not what I’m thinking about.”

“Then why didn’t you sleep last night? You worried about violating your parole? You were just doing your fucking job. Some scumbags tried to scoop Mia up and you solved a problem. I thought you said that you got out before the cops got to the scene.”

  “I did.”

  “Then there’s no problem.”

I kept going over all of the shit that happened in my head even though Seabass was making a lot of sense.

“You’ve got 50 large burning a hole in your pocket,” he said. “You’ve got 50 more coming your way. Just a couple more nights and you’re golden. So you had to protect her both nights. That was your job. You ain’t shoveling—”

“Horse shit. Yeah, yeah. I got it.”

The smirk on Sebastian’s face was enough for me to see things his way.

  “Maybe you’re right,” I said.

  “Of course I’m right.”

“A couple more days and I won’t have to worry about money for a long time. Now the problem is you and Murph.”

  “What are you talking about?”

“I know you two assholes are gonna keep hounding me about investing my money.”

“Hey, that’s what friends are for.”

  “I don’t see it…”

“What don’t you see? We re-open Hades, we have a monopoly on Old Town. Everybody in the place will be too busy to get to Finn’s.”

  “Finn’s isn’t that far of a drive.”

“But Hades will be closer for everybody. And you know how it is when a new place opens up. People from all over Ivory will come to Hades. The same thing happened with Amy’s when they re-opened.”

“It’s not about Hades or the business. It’s about the club.”

Sebastian leaned back and spread his arms wide across the seat. He already knew how I felt. That wasn’t gonna stop him from trying to convince me that it was a good idea.

“The Devils don’t have to come back—”

“Bullshit,” I said. “Hades can’t replace Finn’s. I don’t give a shit what you or Murph think. Hades will only be successful if it’s the clubhouse of the ‘West Devils.’ That’s the reason people will stop by.”

“…You’d only be wearing the patch to make a few bucks. Just like you’re doing right now.”

I looked down at the label on my vest. All of the memories were tattooed in my brain. Just reading the name was enough to make me think about everything that went down all over again. I almost forgot about the job I had working for Burke.

“Whatever,” Sebastian said. “It’s just like Murph said. You don’t have to make a decision right now. Just something to think about.”

“That doesn’t make it any easier. You motherfuckers are gonna keep hounding me all summer about it.”

“Hey. That’s what friends are for.”

Sebastian reared his head back and started cackling so loud that he drew the attention from some of the people in the diner. I didn’t care about Seabass making a scene because I was so used to it.

I sipped on my coffee while Sebastian ate his lunch.

  “How’s Burke?” I asked.

Burke wasn’t concerned with Seabass leaking the details. Sebastian and I had nothing to gain from having an ear to the negotiations because we weren’t involved.

“Negotiations are going smoothly,” he said. “Well, about as smooth as you can get. All of Ivory’s finest have come out to get their piece of the pie. A bunch of bigwigs aren’t gonna give up their share so easily, so it’s taking some time. There’s too much money at stake for this not to work out though. It’ll get there.”

“Shit… I remember the days when a club made money just moving dimebags. Now they’re talking about transporting kilos of the hard shit right through this town…”
<
br />   “Ivory’s changed, Rock. After that incident with the Black Reapers and the Triads, the feds don’t wanna come anywhere near this place. Nothing short of a massacre will get the FBI’s attention again.”

  “What about Sutton?”

“The sheriff? Just because you’ve been locked up for four years doesn’t mean he’s changed. Sutton’s been around long enough to stop giving a shit about the business happening here as long as civilians aren’t in danger. He gives even less of a shit about the MCs.”

“It looks like Burke’s got everything figured out.”

“Fuck Burke. What do you think about the girl?”

  “What girl?”

“What do you think? The Palazzo broad. The one you’re protecting.”

Sebastian seemed nonchalant about it, taking a bite out of his sandwich. He just kept staring at me though, his eyes wide as he waited for me to say something.

“You already know what happened,” I said. “Some punks tried scooping her up—”

“That’s not what I’m talking. I’m talking about her.”

“What the fuck are you talking about?”

“Don’t gimme that shit. Pretending like you didn’t notice. She’s a nice little piece of ass, isn’t she?”

I leaned forward across the table and whispered to make sure nobody heard me.

“I don’t know if you knew this but her father is a made man,” I said. “And she’s engaged to a guy who’s about to broker the biggest drug deal in Ivory history. I’ll keep my dick in my pants, thanks.”

“Doesn’t mean you can’t look. I figure you’d appreciate it. You thought you had to babysit some spoiled brat. Instead, you get to spend time around a mafia princess. This is the easiest 100 grand any man has ever made.”

  “Speak for yourself…”

I muttered under my breath but loud enough for Seabass to hear me. The motherfucker laughed and took another big bite out of his sandwich. I was still too tired to roll my eyes, so I took another sip of coffee, hoping that it would be enough to do just that.

“Just a couple more days,” Seabass said. “Then you’ll be saying goodbye to her. If you ask me, I say you should enjoy the time you’re spending with her. Speaking of which…”

His eyes shifted toward the window. I looked out and saw a black sedan with darkened windows in the parking lot. The driver opened the backseat and Burke stepped out. He held his hand out to help Mia get out. Just seeing her was another reminder of all the shit that happened last night.

“What are they doing here?” I said.

“I guess we’re about to find out.”

They walked into the diner and spotted us. Burke walked toward us with Mia by his side.

“Cain,” he said. “Rock. It’s good to see you two.”

“How did you find us?” I said, narrowing my eyes at him.

“Mia and I were traveling and Mia recognized your bike. I was planning on speaking to you later but I figured now is as good a time as any.”

  “What’s this about?”

“The incident last night. I wanted to ask you about it.”

I’d already given Burke most of the details when I dropped Mia off with him. I didn’t think much of his question though. His fiancée nearly got kidnapped. I couldn’t blame him for wanting answers.

“Now that you’ve had a night to sleep on it, do you recall anything else?” he asked.

“No,” I said, shaking my head. “I didn’t recognize the one man I saw before the cops arrived. It doesn’t matter. The pigs got ‘em.”

“Indeed. The police have them in custody. They’ll get answers out of them, one way or another. I want to assure you that the people who did what they did to Mia will be dealt with.”

Burke was giving me a cold stare. It was as if the motherfucker was accusing me of being involved with that shit. I looked at Mia and she stood sheepishly by his side.

“How’s your arm?” I asked her.

“It’s fine,” she said. “No pain.”

“Is that what you wanted to talk about?” Sebastian asked.

“No,” Burke said. “I actually wanted to give you an invitation.”

  “Invitation?”

“I’ve come to terms with the final partners. It appears I’ll be doing business in Ivory. The partners and I will be having a celebration. A formal dinner to forge our partnership. I’d like to invite the two of you.”

“Me?” I said. “Why would you want to invite me?”

“Don’t be modest, Rock. What you did for Mia should be rewarded.”

  “That’s why you’re paying me.”

“That doesn’t mean I can’t acknowledge what you did. Both of you will still have to do the job I’m paying you for. Just consider tonight a bit of a breather. You’ve earned it.”

Burke reached into his suit jacket and pulled out a few stacks.

“Your payment for tonight,” he said. “Just one more until your contract is fulfilled.”

“We’ll fulfill the contract,” Seabass said.

“I know you will. I’ll contact you with the location tonight.”

“What do you plan on doing today?” I asked.

I glanced at Mia but she remained quiet.

“My fiancée and I are planning on a quiet day before the dinner tonight. After last night’s fireworks, I’m sure we can all use a break.”

Burke bowed his head to me then Sebastian.

“Enjoy the rest of your day, Rock… Cain…”

Mia kept staring at me as she left the diner with Burke. Their car drove off into the distance. Sebastian was thumbing through his money while he whistled.

  “Something’s wrong,” I said.

  “What do you mean?”

  “Mia… She wasn’t saying much.”

“Maybe she’s still spooked because of what happened.”

  “No, that’s not it.”

  “Why do you care?”

Seabass raised an eyebrow at me.

  Shit.

I figured I would shut my mouth before he got suspicious. I picked up my stack of money and flipped through it.

“Twenty-five grand just to have dinner with a bunch of rich assholes,” I said. “This sounds like my kind of job.”

“You should thank Murph for getting this job for us.”

“Next time I see the old man, I’ll buy him a beer.”

Seabass and I shared a laugh. He didn’t seem to care one way or another about figuring out what Mia and I did last night.

I wasn’t sure what Mia was thinking but I knew it wasn’t a mistake. Now it was just a matter of figuring out what the fuck I was gonna do next.

  Chapter 12

  ROMAN

  Night three…

Golden Hills was in a part of Ivory far away from the rest of the common townsfolk. Most of the people who made their wealth in Ivory had the sense to leave and take advantage of their riches. Those who stuck around were few and far between. There was no question that a businessman like Burke had his place in Golden Hills even though he didn’t live in Ivory. And it was no surprise that the men and women he was doing business with enjoyed the luxury away from the more common parts.

I already knew that Sebastian and I were going to draw more attention than we usually did in town. A couple of kuttes were enough to make everybody turn and look when we were outside of a biker clubhouse. Heading to Golden Hills was only going to draw more eyes to us. Now it was just a matter of whether or not Sebastian and I were going to make a scene…

  “Fuckin’ asshole…”

Sebastian muttered to himself as one of the security guards at the front door kept eyeballing him.

“I don’t know what he wants,” he said. “He already knows Burke was expecting us. We were on the guest list.”

“The motherfucker’s just doing his job,” I said. “You can’t blame him for being uptight.”

  “We’re club members, not savages.”

“I think we’re closer to savages
than club members.”

I gave Seabass a smirk and he finally stopped glaring at the security guard. From where I was standing, there was more interesting shit to look at.

The lobby of the mansion we were in looked as fancy as any place I’d ever been. Everything had a golden sheen to it. The ceiling. The walls. Even the fucking floor. There were expensive paintings wherever you looked and obnoxious-looking sculptures on display. A massive chandelier hung from the ceiling and illuminated the lobby.

“Look at this fuckin’ place,” I said. “You’d think someone who owns a place like this would pick a better city to live in than Ivory.”

  “James Emerson.”

  “That name doesn’t sound familiar.”

“He only moved here recently. Around the time you got locked up. Some millionaire magnate who had nothing better to do. Probably came to Ivory so he would stop having to compete with all of the big fish in the city.”

“I guess it makes sense that Burke is doing business with someone like him.”

“Burke is getting the lion’s share of the deal because it was his idea but Emerson is the man who’s gonna get this thing rolling.”

An old butler in a tuxedo walked up and greeted us with a cautious smile.

“Good evening, gentlemen. How can I help you?”

“We’re here for the dinner party,” Seabass said. “Burke invited us.”

“Yes. Of course. Right this way.”

We followed the old man down one of the long hallways and through a set of double doors. There was a sprawling ballroom in front of us. It only took a second for me to realize that Seabass and I were out of our element.

Men in overpriced tuxedos. Women in gowns like it was fucking prom night. That same golden sheen on everything. It didn’t even feel like I was still in Ivory.

“Dinner will begin shortly,” the old butler said. “Make yourselves comfortable and please enjoy Mr. Emerson’s hospitality.”

The old man excused himself and left Sebastian and me to examine our surroundings.

“Well,” Sebastian said as he rubbed his hands. “I say we listen to the old man and enjoy ourselves.”
