Love Comes Blindly (book 5) (The Fielding Brothers Saga)

Juliana took her eyes off her sister long enough to look back at Gregg. Confusion clouded her pretty face. “Gregg? Wherever did you find my sister?”
Madeline and Gregg exchanged a humorous grin. “Well,” he explained to Juliana, “after I was wounded and put in an Abbey to recover, I happened to fall in love with the nurse that was helping me. When I couldn’t see, I thought she was a novice.”
He turned to Madeline again, this time, slipping his arm around her waist as he gazed down into her turquoise eyes. “Fortunately, Maddie didn’t become a nun. Now she’s my wife.”
Madeline studied her sister and brother-in-law’s reaction, and almost laughed at their surprised faces. “It’s true. All of it.”
“Well...congratulations!” Andrew replied as he gave Madeline a hug. Juliana was right behind him hugging her sister, too, but she didn’t pull away. She remained in Madeline’s tight embrace, and after a few seconds, her eyes collected tears.
“Juliana, I never thought...I would be able to look at you again. I never thought I would ever see you smile at me or act civilly toward me.” She pulled back slightly and then asked, “Will you please forgive me for what I tried to do three years ago?”
Juliana stepped away, but kept Madeline’s hands in hers. Her smile was genuine and very tender. “Yes, Maddie. I can forgive you. I already have. So has Andrew.”
Madeline hiccupped and laughed. “Can...can we go back to being sisters again?”
Juliana laughed. “Well, if you remember right, we never acted like sisters before, but I can promise you that we shall be sisters from now on. In fact, we shall be very close sisters.”
Nodding, Madeline hugged her sister one more time before stepping away. Andrew came to her and gave her a hug and a kiss on the cheek. “Maddie? Would you like to meet your nephew and niece?”
“I would love that.”
Andrew turned and took his son out of Constance’s hold, and at the same time, Juliana moved to the nanny Madeline hadn’t seen, to retrieve a baby. Andrew patted his son on the head.
“David? This is your Aunt Madeline. Can you tell her hello and give her a kiss on the cheek?”
The boy smiled wide and nodded as his father brought him closer. Madeline laughed when he kissed her cheek. He was so very adorable.
The little baby Juliana held couldn’t be more than a couple months old. “Maddie? This is your niece, Beth.”
Madeline grinned. “She looks just as beautiful as her mother.”
With a heavy sigh of relief, Madeline realize how strange life was. Three years ago, there was so much hatred and revenge, and so much jealousy. Not only had Madeline been a horrid person, but so had Juliana. Everything was different now. Love changed both Madeline and Juliana for the better.
Love healed all wounds.
She lovingly gazed at Gregg still standing next to her with his arm around her waist. Now, for the rest of her life, she was going to bring more love into her life. More love into her family, and especially, more love into her marriage. She liked feeling this way, and she never wanted to go back to her former life.
If there was anything she had learned these past three years it was that forgiveness was love.
