  “Yes! Ah! Oh God.”

Several mini orgasms raced through her, each one forcing her body to clamp down on him, the tightness making the inner walls of her ass burn even hotter.

Weakened, and coated with sweat, she lifted her head to get more air and to nuzzle against him.

  “Sir! Please. Please.”

The pressure built as another, much larger orgasm loomed, her entire slit and ass tingling with a heat that shook her.

As the sensation grew, she struggled to get her hands free, needing to touch him.

  “Sir!”

Gripping her wrists in one of his strong hands, Sin fisted his hand in her hair, turning her face toward his. Scraping his teeth over her jaw, he withdrew again and sank back into her with a groan.

  “Say my fucking name!”

  “Sin!”

  “Come. Now.”

Before he’d even finished speaking, she went over in a rush of heat, every inch of her body awash in pleasure.

The wave held her for several heart-stopping seconds, the intensity wiping every thought from her mind.

  She heard nothing. Felt nothing.

Except Sin, and the way his cock kept her most private opening held wide open.

She would swear she could hear his heartbeat, his labored breathing, and the sound of her name rumbling against her ear.

Losing all control of herself, she slumped, too overcome to even tighten on his cock.

“So good.” Sin thrust one more time and stilled, the feel of his cock pulsing inside her setting off another barrage of sensation.

Limp, weak, and shaking with heat and pleasure, Veronica realized that, at some point, she’d closed her eyes and didn’t have the strength to open them again.

As if from a distance, she felt Sin release her wrists, but she didn’t have the energy to move them.

Not until he kissed her shoulder and wiped away her tears did she realize that she was crying.

  * * * *

With his cock still inside her, Sin gathered Veronica against him, humbled by her response—humbled by her strength in submitting so completely.

Humbled by her trust in him.

Her tears tasted salty against his tongue, and kissing them away, he became more sure than ever that she was perfect for him.

She gave of herself so generously—so trustingly.

He loved her with a strength that scared the hell out of him.

Easing his cock from her, Sin caressed her bottom when she cried out softly.

  “Easy, baby.”

Sitting on the edge of the bed, he pulled her limp form onto his lap and, pushing tendrils of damp hair from her face, rocked her.

“You are so precious to me.”

Opening her eyes, Veronica stared up at him, the fear and confusion in her eyes twisting his gut.

“What the hell is happening to me?” She struggled to sit up, her movements weak and clumsy.

“I couldn’t think.” A single tear slid down her cheek. “I lost myself. All I could feel—all I could hear—was you.”

Sin’s stomach clenched, and forcing a smile, he caressed her cheek, wiping away the tear.

“It’s all right, baby. I had you. You can always trust me to keep you safe.”

She scrambled from his lap, a soft cry escaping when her legs wouldn’t support her.

  “Oh God. What’s happening?”

Sin jumped up and caught her before she could fall, lifting her high against his chest.

“You surrendered.” Bending, he touched his lips to her temple as he carried her into the large bathroom. “Beautifully.”

Averting her gaze, Veronica shook her head.

  “I want to be alone.”

“No, Veronica.” Setting her down on a towel at the edge of the tub, Sin turned on the faucets before ridding himself of the condom.

Wrapping her arms around herself, she kept her gaze averted.

“I didn’t count on this. It scares me.”

Hiding his own fear of losing her, Sin picked her up again, lowering both of them into the tub. “You’re still shaking, and I’m not about to leave you alone.”

Cupping her flushed face, he touched his lips to hers.

“You work out whatever you have to work out in that head of yours, but you’re not doing it alone. You’re mine, Veronica, and I take care of what belongs to me.”

  Chapter Fifteen

Veronica woke to the smell of coffee and the sense of being watched.

Stretching, she opened her eyes, amused to find Sin sitting at the foot of the bed, watching her with unreadable eyes as he sipped coffee.

A warm breeze blew in from the large open windows, bringing with it the sweet scent of flowers that grew all around the hotel.

Smiling, Sin poured her a cup from the tray sitting next to him, adding the cream and sugar just as she liked it.

  “Good morning.”

Sitting up, she pulled the sheet higher to cover herself, not yet used to sleeping in the nude.

“Good morning, Sir.” Accepting the cup, she leaned forward for his kiss before taking a sip.

“Oh. Perfect. You fixed it just the way I like.” Tilting her head, she shifted uncomfortably at the look of censure in his eyes.

“I pay attention to everything about you, Veronica.”

Something in his tone alerted her that she’d done something wrong and her sluggish mind scrambled to figure it out. “Is something wrong? Do you think less of me for falling apart last night?”

Leaning back against the bedpost, he raised a brow, his gaze dropping to the sheet covering her breasts. “Not at all. In fact, it made me want you even more, and I didn’t think that was possible. To be honest, I’ve been afraid of scaring you off, so I’ve been taking things slow. It seems that the more dominant I am, the greater your submission, something that seems to be a little scary for you.”

  Veronica’s face burned.

  “I’m sorry.”

Sin frowned. “Stop apologizing, Veronica. This is a time for exploring and discovery. I think you’re perfect.” Gesturing toward the sheet with a wave of his fingers, he narrowed his eyes.

  “Why did you cover yourself?”

Letting the sheet fall, she wrapped both hands around the cup and sipped, shivering at the feel of the air blowing over her nipples.

  “It’s just a habit I guess.”

Picking up his cup again, Sin rose.

“Lose it. I won’t have you hiding yourself from me. And unless you prefer it otherwise, I want you to lose the Sir and call me Sin.”

He finished his coffee, watching her closely as he poured himself another cup. “Which brings me to Jordan. I told you how close we are. We visit each other as much as possible, and I don’t intend to hide anything about our relationship from him. I want you to be comfortable around him so there’s no reason to be shy.”

Straightening, he sipped his coffee, his eyes unreadable.

“I’ve never had a relationship—a real relationship—like this before, but he knows that it’s what I need and what you and I are attempting to have with each other.”

Nervous and unexpectedly excited at the thought of it, Veronica smiled and rose to her knees, letting the sheet fall as she set her cup on the tray.

“You’re not going to jump me or anything in front of him, are you?”

Sin’s lips twitched, and moving to her side, he slid a hand down her belly to her slit. “The thought had crossed my mind.” Bending, he touched his lips to hers, his fingers delving between her folds. “I just wanted to make sure we were still on the same page. I told you last night that I want to show you just what it means to be mine.”

Lowering himself to the bed next to her, he caressed her throbbing clit. “If something makes you uncomfortable, I want you to tell me.”

“I will. Oh God. This is making me ache. Does that count?”

Sin’s lips twitched. “Oh, I think it should count for quite a bit.”

  Par
ting her thighs wider, she started to reach for him, but a sharp look from him had her lowering her hands to her sides again.

Watching her closely, he nodded once. “Good girl.”

Sipping his coffee, he continued to stroke her clit.

“How does your ass feel this morning?”

Her face burned at the intimate question, and the friction of his finger over her clit made it difficult to concentrate, but she knew he expected an answer.

Biting back a moan, she fisted her hands, her breathing ragged.

“Sore. Good. Incredible.” The lingering awareness there made his ministrations even more intense.

“Good.” His eyes narrowed when she began to squirm. “Be still. You’re supposed to be paying attention to me.”

The twinkle in his eyes told her how much he enjoyed his erotic torture.

The burning in her clit grew, his talented finger sending her over in a rush of pleasure.

“Ah! Oh God.” Biting her lip, she let her eyes flutter closed, involuntarily rocking her hips. The pleasure crested, holding her in its tight grip before releasing her in a wash of sensation, one made sharper by the finger that continued to stroke her clit.

“You’re going to be good today. On your best behavior. Jordan’s only here for the day, and I’m very much looking forward to the two of you meeting.”

Shaking helplessly, Veronica rose to her knees with a cry, desperate to close against his caress.

  “Please. Sin, please.”

“Get back down where you were. Now.”

Chilled by his tone, Veronica shakily lowered herself again, once again resting her bottom on her heels, a position that kept her thighs parted and gave him complete access to her slit.

Setting his cup aside, he leaned close, his eyes narrowing when a sob broke free at his unrelenting attention to her clit.

“I just told you that I expect you to be on your best behavior and you can’t even sit still.”

  “I’m sorry I just—”

“Your clit is sensitive, but this isn’t about what you want, is it? This clit is mine, and I can touch it because I want to—not because it’s what you want. I thought we’d already established this. Look at me.”

Snapping her eyes open, Veronica met his gaze, biting her lip in an effort to hold back a moan.

  “W-we did.”

“Good.” Sliding his hand from between her thighs, Sin rose, holding out a hand.

Frowning, Veronica placed her hand in his, allowing him to lead her to the bathroom.

“You seem worried about your friend and me meeting. Are you afraid that I’ll embarrass you?”

He stepped into the humungous shower, pulling her with him and turning the multiple showerheads on.

“No.” Stepping under one of them, he lifted his face, closing his eyes against the spray.

She waited, but he didn’t seem inclined to expand on the subject. She stepped toward one of the other showerheads, only to have him reach out a hand and pull her against him.

Smiling, she closed her eyes when he pulled her under the spray.

“How did you know I moved? You had your eyes closed.”

Scraping his hair back with one hand, he kept a hand at her lower back.

“I’m very attuned to you, Veronica.” Turning her, he wet her hair and reached for the shampoo. “Perhaps one day you’ll be that attuned to me.”

Staring up at him, she flattened her hands on his chest, tilting her head back on a moan when he began to wash her hair.

“I just realized something. If your friend’s coming here to look at condos, he must be a Dominant, too.”

Sin’s eyes became shuttered. “He is.”

  “Does he have a submissive?”

Moving her back under the spray, Sin rinsed her hair.

“No. He doesn’t want the responsibility of one. He enjoys them but doesn’t have the time. He has a high-powered job and goes to clubs when need gets too strong.”

“You’re nervous about me meeting him. Why?”

“Don’t be ridiculous. I’m very anxious for you to meet him.”

He was silent for several long seconds before he sighed.

“Jordan is very dark. Very powerful. Very closed—except with me. He loved someone once and has never loved anyone else. He’s very loyal and generous to the people he lets in, but he doesn’t let that many people in. Hell, other than me, he doesn’t let anyone in. Just don’t question him about women, for God’s sake.”

Veronica gulped. “That’s so sad. What happened?”

  “Don’t ask.”

  “How old is he?”

“He’s thirty-eight. Ten years older than me.”

“How long ago did he and this woman break up?”

Pursing his lips, Sin narrowed his eyes in thought. “Hell, it has to be close to seven years now. She was only twenty-one, but he fell head over heels. He was successful even then, but since then, it’s like he’s been driven. He was drunk for a month, and then he seemed to have developed a laser-sharp focus when it came to business. The man hardly ever sleeps.”

Running soapy hands over her smooth, voluptuous form, Sin smiled at the way she melted against him.

Slipping his fingers between her folds, he bent to scrape his teeth over her bottom lip.

“I want him to see how perfect you are for me.”

  Chapter Sixteen

Sin took more time than usual picking out her clothing, finally deciding on a light blue set, one with a skirt that reached her knees.

Made of cotton like the others he’d picked out for daytime wear, it felt soft against her skin and she felt sexy as hell wearing it.

Sin kept her hand in his as they made their way down the elevator and to the restaurant, grinning as he approached a table where a black-haired, black-eyed man sat sipping coffee.

Dressed in a black suit, he should have looked out of place in their surroundings, but the aura of confidence and power surrounding him made it appear that everyone else was underdressed.

The few strands of gray at his temples only enhanced his masculine features, but his eyes held a cold glimmer that had her holding on tighter to Sin’s arm.

Still smiling, Sin shook the other man’s hand.

“Jordan. I’m glad you made it. Veronica, say hello to Jordan King. Jordan, Veronica Sands.”

“Hello, Jordan. It’s nice to finally meet you. I wasn’t sure if I would be allowed to talk to you or not.”

Sin smiled down in amusement. “You remembered. I wondered if you would.”

Jordan didn’t offer his hand, nodding once. “Hello, Veronica. It’s nice to finally meet you.”

After ordering breakfast, Jordan leaned back, a small smile playing at his lips as he studied Sin.

“I have to say you look a hell of a lot better than the last time I saw you. You look…rested.”

Playing with the ends of Veronica’s high ponytail, Sin smiled. “I feel rested.”

Jordan’s eyes narrowed as he glanced at Veronica. “Haven’t you only been here a couple of days?”

Turning to smile at Veronica, Sin stared into her eyes. “Yes, but it’s been a very relaxing and fulfilling couple of days.”

  “So it appears. She’s lovely.”

Sin smiled again. “Yes, she is.”

Sin’s smile warmed her, but Jordan’s scrutiny made her wish she was wearing more clothes.

Jordan sat back while the waiter refilled his coffee. “You’re a lucky man.”

Sin’s smile held a hint of tension. “We’ll see.”

Veronica frowned up at him, glancing at Jordan when his phone sounded. She waited until he got up and left the table before leaning closer to Sin.

  “Is something wrong?”

Sin shook his head, but his smile didn’t quite reach his eyes.

“No, Veronica. Nothing’s wrong, but you and I both know that things are going to change when we get back home. You live in Annapolis, and I live in L.A., and I can’t lea
ve. We also both know that you’ve been living a fantasy here. This is my lifestyle, and I’ve waited a long time to be able to live it the way I want to. You’re playing at it, and it’s very real to me.”

Jordan came back to the table, his eyes shuttered, his lips thinned as he barked out commands into the phone.

“Tell him to have the jet ready to go in fifteen minutes. Call Sam and have him standing by at the airport.” He hung up with a curse.

  Sin stilled. “What’s wrong?”

  Jordan glanced at Veronica.

“Robert Kincaid has been watching Miss Sands’ house. Evidently, he got pissed at not finding her and went to her grandmother’s house to find out where she was. Tied up her grandmother and forced her to tell him. Our guy followed him and broke in before Kincaid could do any worse, but it was too late.”

Veronica felt all the blood drain from her face.

“Dear God.” She rose on legs that shook, grateful for Sin’s supporting arm around her. “How is she? Did he hurt her?”

Jordan’s lips thinned. “She had a heart attack. She’s in the hospital. It doesn’t look good.”

  * * * *

The next two hours were a blur for Veronica.

The only constant was Sin at her side, always touching her as if trying to warm her and lend her his strength.

She had a vague memory of him helping her dress when her hands shook too badly to do it herself.

Somehow, everything was packed again and they were in their private jet.

A cup of coffee was placed in front of her, and she held on to it, not drinking it, just to keep her hands warm.

“She has to be all right.”

Suddenly, she found herself gathered on Sin’s lap, being rocked.

When the plane landed, he carried her out and down the steps to a waiting car, still holding her.

He murmured to her frequently, and although she didn’t know half of what he said, just the sound of his voice gave her strength.

Her legs shook as they rushed into the hospital and to her grandmother’s bedside.

Hooked to monitors, and with tubes running in and out of her, her grandmother looked old.
