School Time for Death: Resurection (Death Dealer Saga Book 5)

“No, my daughter, the House of Nakatoma has never wanted this. Even now if there was a peaceful way of resolving this I would use it. Above all else I have always searched for a peaceful solution to avoid violence. That has been the way of our Family for over five and a half centuries. Only when all other routes to peace failed, have we taken up the sword. And then in the defense of others or ourselves. The Nakatoma’s have never been the first to strike out in anger, but when we do we give no quarter.”
“So, what do we do now?”
“It is simple, as I have said before. We train our new Brothers and Sisters to the best of our abilities. When they are ready, we fight.”
“No mama, when they are ready, we destroy the Temple of Holy Light and the others. In four months the Knights of Ida-ten attack Temple Mount.”
“Why then and there?”
“The answer is simple as you said mama.”
“I don’t understand, Maiha.” She, like everyone else around me, was wondering the same thing I could tell by the looks on their faces.
“It will take us that long to transform them, and then train them to be what they are to become. I would prefer longer, but if we give the Imperial Temples longer than that, we’ll be fighting them here. No, we are going to take the fight to them and ram it down their greedy throats.”
“So, once again Death will come by your command and no others, daughter? To be handed out by your Death Dealers no less.”
“Oh no, mama. If I were to do that, there would be no survivors and Temple Mount would be a smoking hole in the ground. It will be the Knights of Ida-ten bringing down Justice on the corrupted Temples and their leaders. Remember what I told you earlier about how the Death Dealers will look upon the Temple of Ida-ten and its Knights?” she and the others all nodded their heads yes. “If I let the Death Dealers know about the Black Rose and Crimson Shield having illegal technology and having broken into the Imperial Armory they’ll use everything under the sun to destroy them. They’ll go so far as to use orbital bombardment, long tom strikes, and if that wasn’t enough, strategic nukes.”
“Goddess have mercy!” mama gasped out loud. “Surely they wouldn’t go so far as to destroy an entire city like that?!”
“Sadly, yes they would mama. What the Holy Light Temple and the orders of the Black Rose and Crimson Shield have done is nothing short of rebellion and High Treason. By their actions they have placed a Death Sentence on all those who live within the Imperial Temple complex and the surrounding city. What we have learned here this night would force the Emperor to do exactly that. We must never allow what we have learned get back to either the Emperor or the Death Dealer High Command.”
“But, sissy, aren’t you part of the Death Dealer High Command?” leave it Fuyuko to point out the nine hundred ton gorilla in the room.
Nodding my head yes to her question with a small smile on my face. “I am, and this won’t be the first time I have kept something from my brothers in the Death Dealers for the good of the Empire.”
“But, isn’t that High Treason?” Fuyuko was really on target with this one.
“Yes it is little sister. But what is more important, the lives of thousands of innocent people or keeping a secret that’ll get them killed?”
“Sometimes pumpkin it is better to follow your heart, than the rules. This is one time I would gladly be a traitor to the Empire, than allow thousands to die because of a few greedy people. Remember, the Temple of Ida-ten has a duty to protect the innocent first, the Empire second.” Papa had wrapped his arm around her small shoulders as he told her this. Ready to give Fuyuko a hug if needed.
“So, what you’re saying is that sometimes it is better to hide the truth for the betterment of the people?” asked Nanase in her quiet way.
“This is one time, sweetheart it is better for all that the Emperor to be kept in the dark. Your big sister is doing the right thing. It may not be the legal thing to do, but it is the right thing to do.” Mama told her.
“Mama, that doesn’t make any sense.” Nanami was only voicing what her sisters were thinking.
“Sometimes, little one it is better to ask forgiveness than it is to ask permission. This is one time when breaking the law is doing the right thing.” In the few months that I have known Colonel Fujiyama I never knew the man was a philosopher. “One must sometimes ask their heart what is the right thing to do.”
“So by keeping this secret from the Emperor, we’re doing the right thing?” Nanami and her sisters were really trying to understand what was going on.
“Yes, we are Nanami, because if we tell the Emperor what the Temple of Holy Light has done he will have no choice, but to send the Death Dealers to kill every last person in the Temple Complex. If he were to find out what we know everyone there will be under a Death Sentence for High Treason.” I told her bluntly. I could see what was going on with all their thoughts. It was written all over their faces as they digested what I just told them. It took them a few moments but they all realized what I was saying and doing. Yes my little sisters would make the Temple of Ida-ten and House Nakatoma proud.
Someone was yelling to get through the crowd to me and my family. “Where is High Lady Maiha Nakatoma? Make way damn it! Tell me where the Lady Nakatoma is. Make way! I need to see her now!”
I turned and wave for the people blocking the man to let him through. Once he was clear I saw that it was one of the Death Dealers from the security office. As I looked at him I could tell he was one of the poster boys for the Death Dealers. He stood at least six foot tall, had blue eyes, and brown hair. He may weigh in around one and seventy pounds, trim and in shape. He was one of those guys they actively try to recruit for the Military Police for the Death Dealers. When he got close to me he came to attention and snapped me a salute. Which I quickly returned.
“Lady Nakatoma, a FTLM just came in from Earth Prime for you.”
“Well, Corporal, what does it say?”
“Um… First High Lady Maiha, I believe that you should return with me to the command center first.” Oh shit this was not good. The man called me by my title of First High Lady.
“Very well, let’s go. Mama, papa, please get everyone back to their rooms. Alice, come with me. Children of Mars, Daughters of the Dragon, clean up this mess and make sure that piece of trash over there makes it to the security office.” Once I finished with those orders me and Alice headed for the security office with the corporal.
Once we reached the security office both Alice and I were led to a high security room at the back of the office area. There on a monitor was the header for the FTLM waiting to be opened. I sat down in the chair in front of the monitor and punched the play button. A message came up address to me or I should say First High Lady of the Death Dealers in the Death Gates System asking for my pass codes. I entered my command codes and sat back waiting for the message to play. Another message came asking for my security codes and Biometrics. I enter my security codes and placed my hand on the scanner. I received a beep of conformation from the computer letting me know I was cleared for the message.
As the message scrolled across the screen I felt the blood drain from my face. As I read my greatest nightmare comes true. Once again I failed in my duty as a Death Dealer. Only once before has this happened and it cost a man his life. This time the life of the Empire is at risk.
To: All First High Lords and Lady of the Death Dealers, and all Empyreal Military System Commanders
From: Sir Robert Langdon, First High Lord of the Empyreal Military
To all commanders in the field let it be known that at 1900 hours GTM Earth Prime. The Empyreal Palace and city came under attack from an unknown drop ship in high Earth orbit. The Palace was hit by seven KK weapons and one thermo nuclear bomb. At the time His Royal Imperial Majesty and his four sons were in attendance at the Palace. At this time it is unknown as to whether they are alive. However due to the severity of the attack, and the fact that the Palace and the surrounding area were hit by w
hat is assumed to have been a four hundred mega ton warhead it is unlikely they survived. The last surviving member of the Royal Family, Princess Daniella Sophia Sha Dan must be protected until she can assume the Imperial Throne.
Failing that the Lady Maiha Nakatoma and her family line shall by right of succession assume the Throne. All efforts must be taken to protect the Princess and the House of Nakatoma. By the authority of my office I am dispatching all available Death Dealer Divisions to the Death Gates System for this purpose.
An investigation into the attack has been launched. At the time of this dispatch 2347 no new information has come to light on the name of the drop ship or its owners. The fact that it came in from behind the moon it is believed they were using stolen stealth technology from the Empyreal R and D department. Also the fact that it was able to jump back out of the Earth Prime System also leads us to believe they were using stolen Imperial Military technology.
Ladies and Gentlemen, let me be clear about this. Whoever these terrorist are, we will hunt them down and lay waste to whatever planet they are on. Over six and half million of our fellow citizens of the Empire were killed in cold blood. They will be avenged.
End of Message
Alice leaned in over my shoulder and read the message as I was. I could tell by the sound of her voice she was as upset as I was. “Please tell me that this is a practical joke. That they really didn’t perform an orbital bombardment of the Imperial City and the Palace.”
“I wish to the Goddess it was.”
“What are you going to do?”
I let the heat of my anger fill my voice as I answered her. “Unleash Hell and the dogs of war.”
Chapter 14
Hall of Elders, Temple Mount, Holy City, Vega Prime.
Cardinal Richelieu had waited long enough. He was ready to finally take his rightful place as not only the Supreme Spiritual Leader for the Empire, but its secular one as well. All he had to do was remove these doddering fools who stood in his way. He would have preferred to wait another two years, but with the return of the Temple of Ida-ten he had to change his plans. With the failure of Prefect Slade to kill the Nakatoma bitches and the defeat of Houses Light Moore and Daniels years of planning was in jeopardy. He knew that the Elders would never give him the right to destroy the Temple of Ida-ten.
What really drove him mad though was the fact that until the Emperor was out of the way his damnable Death Dealers would be a threat. Thankfully he had already sent the message to The Sword of Destiny’s Captain to take care of that irritant. Within the day the drop ship will decloak on the far side of Earth’s moon and make an attack run past Earth at high orbit. At the proper time it would fire all eight of its Kinetic Kill cannons at the Empyreal city and drop a four hundred mega ton thermal nuclear bomb. Between the KK’s and the nuke there would be nothing left for over twenty four square miles, but rubble. Even if the Emperor and his bastard children could get to the Royal bunker, it would not prevent them from dying. If the Impact of the KK’s didn’t get them then the nuke would one way or another.
Soon, oh so soon, the so called Empyreal Family will be gone and the only thing standing in his way will be one pathetic High Family led by a female child. Oh she may have gotten lucky with those buffoons during the rebellion, but she won’t have the backing of the Emperor or his Death Dealers. His Black Rose and Crimson Shield orders will destroy that House’s Military within hours.
Everyone thought that his orders only had a small armory of weapons. This was not the case however. Nor was the actual size of the orders. It had taken him time, almost twenty years, but he had slowly built their numbers. Where once they were only two battalions worth of troops, he now had at his disposal ten full divisions. More than enough to destroy any High Family House that would oppose his rule. Before he had to rely on outside contractors to carry his Temple Order, he now had his own drop ships. Before the two orders only had but one battalion of AP Suits, they now had five whole heavy Armor Divisions of them.
The Temple of Holy Light was no longer the paper tiger of old. They were now a true army in their own right. One that would be more than a match for the pathetic forces that all of the High Families could muster. Once he has destroyed those whores of the Nakatoma family and their useless Temple of Ida-ten, we will have all of their resources as well. Hades and the Death Gates system along with all those military manufacturers will belong to him and the Temple of Holy Light. If all went according to his plans within two to three years every High Families House will be gone, the Parliament will be history, the Halls of Justice will be an extension of his will, and he will be the Emperor with his choice of brides.
Richelieu looked around the room as all of the Elders for the Imperial Temples filed in. there were a total of twenty four Elders not counting himself. Soon though that will change, as will the faces in this room. He had his assassins in place and once the Conclave began his plans for conquest would begin. The first of which was the deaths of these out of date blind antiques. They could have grabbed control of the Empire so many times in the past, but always left the decisions of power to weak and undeserving lesser men. Men who had no vision. Men who believed that they served the people, not the other way around. The people exist to serve the Throne. The Throne does not serve the people. A real Emperor would know and understand this, like Richelieu did.
Standing up and walking around the table so he would face the gathered leaders of all the Imperial Temples. “Elders of the Imperial Temples, we are at a crossroads of history. This day an old enemy has returned from the grave. The Knights of Ida-ten have been reborn thanks to that abomination who is now Head of House for House Nakatoma. For too long, far too long, we have suffered the humiliation of having to allow that family and its Temple to go unchecked. This will no longer be the case. Within the next twelve hours they and the Temple of Ida-ten shall finally be dealt with.”
“And just how will this great event come about Cardinal Richelieu?” the oldest of the Elders called out.
“At this very moment ten of my most trusted members of my Temple orders will kill them. Before the night is out on Hades Prime every last member of the Nakatoma family will lie dead, along with the Princess Daniela, Susan White Horse, and Lisa Van Pierce. With them dead the Temple of Ida-ten will falter and collapse into the ashes it is trying to rise from.”
“What if they fail? Have you thought of that?” another of the Elders called out, this time it was one of the women.
“If they fail then we will be at war with the Knights of Ida-ten and House Nakatoma. Do not fear, either way it will be to our advantage. They will try to use the Rules of Can’ lee against us. Thankfully they do not apply. The Temple of Ida-ten is, and has been Outlaw for over four hundred years and as such are not protected be the Rules of Can’ lee. We can finally be rid of our two biggest threats to our way of life for the past four hundred years.”
“ARE YOU MAD!?” screamed the Head of the Temple of the Divine Heart.
“No, I am quite sane. You are the ones who are mad. You sit here in your towers of ivory and dream of leading the people of this pathetic Empire through Divine Guidance and moral principal. What they need is a strong hand and even stronger man to lead them. Not some mystical mumbo jumbo spoon feeding them from aging decrepit and demented men and women who dream of a peace filled universe. All of you have outgrown your usefulness in this life.” As he finished speaking twenty three high powered lasers slammed home into the chests of the Elders. They died before their heads hit the tables in front of them. With one move Richelieu was able to remove the last obstacle in his rise to power and the Empyreal Throne.
For far too long he had waited for this moment, one he had been willing to wait a little longer for. However with the return of the Temple of Ida-ten and its Knights his hand had been forced. He could no longer wait; the Revolution will begin and nothing the House of Nakatoma can do will stop it. He turned and walked to the doors of the hall and sealed them from the inside. This would
buy him the time he needed to put all of his final plans in motion. Finally after four hundred and fifty years his family will be avenged, and returned to their rightful place as the true rulers of the Empire. His ancestor’s betrayal at the hands of the Nakatoma Family and the Temple of Ida-ten shall finally be corrected.
It should have been his family and his ancestors that should have been crowned Emperor, not his great uncle. The wrongs of four hundred and fifty years ago will finally be addressed. After all this time the true Royal Family shall rule and the Nakatoma Family will not stop them this time. Never again shall there be any doubt as to the true rulers of the Empire. Once he had his hands on the Princess Daniela or that cunt Maiha Nakatoma his place on the Empyreal Throne would be assured until his death of old age. And one of those two will be his breed mare.
“First Prefect Morgan, how soon before we know if the teams on Hades have been successful?”
A tall well-built man in his late thirties stepped out of his hiding place. “The soonest we will know anything my Lord is in nine hours. Until then we are in the dark.”
“Very well, no use for then. We’ll continue with the plan as if the Nakatoma’s are still alive. How soon can we have all ten divisions ready to attack the planet of Hades and the Nakatoma compound?”
“I am afraid it will take five months to recall all of our troops at best. No matter how hard we try it will take three months to gather them and transport them here. We have our troops spread across the Empire to hide their numbers. Ten here, twenty there, no one cell greater than thirty in number. No matter how they travel it will take time, my Lord.”
Richelieu had only himself to blame for this. It was his orders to spread them out like they were. It was done to hide their numbers to keep the Empire in the dark as to their size and the threat the Black Rose and Crimson Shield posed. And now he must pay the price for that order despite the necessity of it at the time. Four to five months will give them time to prepare for their arrival, but with the Empire in turmoil he’ll be able to move more freely now.
