Jim sprang into action and retrieved Molly’s purse and helped her off the barstool. I gave her a hug and shook Jim’s hand again. I sat back down and sighed before taking a drink of wine.
They meant well. It was good to have friends that cared. I just hoped they did not make Cody feel uncomfortable by applying too much pressure. He needed to focus on his work—not just to help out Jim and Molly in their time of need but because he was learning what it took to make a successful restaurant. Real life experience would serve him well towards his goal of one day owning his own place.
Cody approached and leaned against the bar across from me. “Hey, handsome.” If he was feeling any pressure from Jim and Molly or anyone else about our relationship, he was not showing any sign.
“It’s good to see you. How are things tonight?”
“A little bit busier than we expected, but I think we could do better. People need to eat, right?”
I raised my glass, “And drink.”
Cody picked up the wine bottle, uncorked it, and topped me off.
“I would like a burger and fries, too.”
“Coming right up.” He turned to go back to the kitchen, “But save room for sausage later.”
I kept expecting him to be shy and insecure. That’s how I was at that age. I must be projecting my own experiences onto him. I was starting to believe Cody had some things to teach me despite being the younger one.
Someone sat down in the barstool Molly had vacated. I sensed the presence but did not turn to look. I was too busy thinking about Cody giving me his sausage later.
“So, you are ignoring me,” I turned to look at him as the recognition hit me.
“What? No, I’m not ignoring you.” I stumbled over my words as I overcame my shock at seeing Josh. I had not expected to see Josh at the restaurant. It was as short of a walk for him as it was for me, but I imagined him stuck at the cabin tending to George.
“You didn’t come to the office today.”
“I worked on going through one of the boxes of old files.”
“Find anything?”
“Mostly old ledgers. I did find some newspaper clippings that your uncle might like to see. I was going to swap out the box for another and just work from my cabin when I had time.” The bar did not seem like the best place to get into all the details. “Did you need me to come to the office?”
Josh smiled, “Well, I missed your...uh…your face.”
I let the words hand there while I studied Josh. He eyed me with hunger.
Cody appeared from the back carrying a couple plates of food and paused when he saw the new patron. I suspected he recognized Josh as the sweaty, muscled runner. “I’ll be right back to help you.” He said and continued on to deliver the food to one of the tables.
“If I’d known he worked here, I wouldn’t cook so much at the cabin.”
We both looked at Cody, each with a high degree of lust. I also saw the person beyond the looks and the body. “He’s very cute. And he’s a good guy.”
“Naughty in bed, no doubt.” Josh licked his lips and then turned to me. “Kind of like you. One of the best blow jobs I’ve had. Sorry I haven’t been able to return the favor.”
I felt hot and was sure my face was turning red. Whatever had cooled Josh the other day seemed not to matter now. It felt like we were in a gay bar chatting and flirting. The next logical step there would be to head somewhere private and get naked. It was a scenario I had been party to plenty of times: two men flirt over drinks, get themselves excited and revved up, and then the hook up. Repeat again the next night and the night after that.
But this was not a gay bar. And feet away there was another man who may not like to see me engaged in any sort of flirtation with someone other than him. Until I knew what was happening with Cody, anything physical with Josh was out of the question—despite the knowledge that it would be fun.
I snuck a glance at Josh and looked him up and down, remembering what he looked like naked.
“What can I get you?” Cody smiled at Josh.
Josh looked from Cody to me and then back to Cody. “How about a bottle of whatever wine Alex is drinking with a glass for me to share.”
“Sure. Are you hungry tonight as well?”
“You could say that.”
Cody grabbed a menu and placed it in front of Josh and then went to retrieve the fresh bottle. Below the bar Josh placed a hand on my knee and squeezed. I flinched in surprise.
“What? Aren’t you hungry?”
Before I could answer, Cody was back with the bottle and a glass for Josh. As he poured, Josh introduced himself, “My uncle owns the cabins.”
“I think I saw you running,” Cody winked at me. “Shirtless looks good on you.”
Josh laughed, “Pantless, too.” His hand found my leg again and rubbed it.
I coughed on my sip of wine. How far would this banter go? Was it harmless flirting between two attractive men? Would it somehow get to a place where the two connected the dots that they had both recently fooled around with me?
I would prefer the chance to talk to each one privately. Whatever had happened with Josh seemed like it was a casual thing—a think that until a few moments ago I thought had been over and done. In reality, I thought it was not really an issue and there was not much I would need to tell Cody. But if Josh was still interested in me, I needed to have an honest and frank conversation with Cody about what happened. I also needed to draw boundaries with Josh.
Would it surprise Josh to find out that I had moved on from him so quickly? Meeting and hooking up with Cody had been unexpected and sudden. But had I really “moved on”? If nothing else had changed from the other day, I would definitely be responding to Josh’s flirtations now. We would not get too much into the bottle wine or the burger I ordered. We would be heading back to either his or my place and finishing what we had started.
A bell rang from the kitchen and Cody disappeared to retrieve the waiting food.
“So, if he saw me running, he must have been at one of the cabins.” Josh turned to me with a smile. “That explains why you haven’t been to the office.”
“Guilty.”
Josh removed his hand and chuckled, “How long have you two been together?”
“Together might be too strong of a word right now. Last night was the first time we really spent any time alone.”
“I see.” Josh seemed to be contemplating the situation. “And, how is he?”
“Pretty amazing,” I responded immediately. I followed it quickly with, “I’ve had a good string of that lately.”
“I’m pretty sure I’m the best.”
My smiled curled up on one side, “I don’t think we got to fully test that out.” The urge to partake in the flirtatious banter was too much.
Josh raised his wine glass, “Cheers to testing it out one day.” We clinked glasses and drank. “I hope it’s okay if we split this bottle of wine together. As friends and coworkers?”
“It’s okay. I hope I did not crush your dreams.”
“Well, if I know gay men…it’s probably just a delay. What are the odds that I’ve lost you to the love of your life?” Was it possible to think Cody was the love of my life and here we were at the beginning of it all? There might not be any other man again in my life that I wanted more than him.
Cody appeared with my burger and fries. He moved bottles of mustard and ketchup down the bar from two seats away.
“That looks good. But I can get one without a bun?”
“Do you want it wrapped in lettuce?”
“Perfect. I’m watching my figure.”
“You’re doing a good job.” Cody disappeared again. I looked down at my dinner and wondered if I should also skip the bun. I could watch my figure a little more. Cody seemed to enjoy my less than perfect body—so maybe I could start changing my diet tomorrow[JP1].
Chapter Thirteen
The rest of the evening was idle talk as we enjoyed our food and the wine.

A rowdy group of guys showed up to drink and play darts. I dropped some cash on the counter and said good night to Cody and Josh. Cody winked and signaled for me to text him.
When I was outside, I did send him a message, “I’ll be up late if you want to chat.”
The night was quiet as I headed towards my cabin. I hoped Cody would call when he was done, or better yet, come over and crawl in bed with me. The thought of a night without him seemed cruel.
“Alex, wait up!” Josh jogged after me. “We might as well keep each other company since we are going in the same direction.”
We walked side by side but fell into silence. Only our footsteps made any noise. Finally, I said, “The other day when you went to talk to George…what exactly happened? You came back…changed.” Being chased after when leaving the restaurant was becoming a trend.
Josh sighed. “I should have explained. I just didn’t have the words. Things aren’t well with George’s health.”
I stopped walking and reached for Josh’s arm, “What’s going on?”
“George’s heart—he’s going to need some major surgery and probably extensive care. I thought I would have more time to get all of this figured out, but things will be moving quickly. I guess I was overwhelmed and not able to focus on what I really wanted to be doing.”
“Josh, I’m sorry.”
“I should have told you. I certainly did not want you to think I was not interested.” Josh’s shoulders sunk down and he spoke to the ground. His hands were in his pockets and he looked so…small. His personality normally expanded to fill the space and now he had retreated.
There was nothing I could say that could make things right or better. Josh was confronted with big decisions that he had to figure out on his own. He was George’s family and would be the one who had a say in what care he received and what would happen to the cabins.
I put my arm around him and pulled him close. Sometimes when there are no words, the next best thing is the presence of someone who cares. Josh put his forehead on my shoulder and his arms around my waist. We stood in silence.
After a few minutes Josh lifted his head and pulled away. His eyes were wet and he turned away to hide in the shadows and wiped them.
We walked back to the cabins but did not rush. I kept quiet and let Josh decide if we were going to break the silence. I would just be there for him if he needed me. We stopped on the porch outside the office.
“Thanks,” Josh said, “I needed a friend just now.”
“Of course. I know there’s a lot on your shoulders. I’ll come work in the office all day if you need me to so you can take care of whatever you need to with George…or anything. Just let me know.”
“I definitely need you tomorrow. I’m not expecting any check-ins, but I need to drive down to Phoenix.”
“Not a problem. I’ll be over first thing.” I reached to hug him again. He moved his face in front of mine and our lips met. My body tingled in response and I kissed him back with the same vigor as he kissed me.
Josh turned me and pinned me against the cabin walls. I felt his urgency in his fingers as he groped, his tongue as it explored my mouth, and his penis as it hardened and pressed against me through our jeans. I grabbed him, too, as my own desire increased. One hand dug into his back and the other grabbed his ass. I wanted to feel him close to me. I wanted to feel him naked.
He grasped for air. I expected him to kiss me again but he pulled back, “No. I can’t,” he whispered. Was he saying that to me or talking to himself?
“Josh, I--.”
He held up his hands, “No. Not like this. Even though I want to.” He turned to the door, and as he disappeared into the office he said, “Good night, Alex.”
The door closed and I was left on the porch, once again confused by Josh. Why the sudden change this time? I was also grateful. I was minutes away from tumbling in bed with Josh—or more likely bent over every surface in the office. How could I explain that to Cody?
It would be just like me to have two hot guys interested in me and then to ruin it with both of them.
I walked up to my cabin, turning back once to see if I could catch any sign of Josh in his window, but I saw only darkness. Beau greeted me at the door with his favorite toy in his mouth. We each tugged at it for a while. When I got it free, I threw it and he retrieved it and brought it back for more tugging. He tired and found a comfortable place in the corner and chewed. I checked his water and headed to my room and shed my clothes as quickly as I could. I crawled naked between the sheets.
I expected sleep to come but tossed and turned. I was worried about George and his health. Would I be losing my friend? Would there be new owners that loved this place as much as he did? Or would Josh take over on a permanent basis? Living in the woods full time did not seem to be his dream. He had put his life on hold for this summer. I assumed there was a job, house, friends, and more waiting for him somewhere.
I felt an ache rise in me as I thought about him. Flashes of his kiss on the porch and him naked in the office came to mind. I was horny now as if I had not been with anyone in months. I needed more than just a jerk off to possibly get the images out of my mind.
I rolled over to reach the night stand. From the top drawer I took out the lube and poppers. Then I pulled open the bottom drawer and found a bag tucked towards the back. I removed it and took out the dildo from inside. Finally, I got my tablet from on top of the night stand and brought up a web browser. With the necessary supplies, I propped myself up on my knees with everything within reach in front of me. I logged into my favorite porn site and started browsing for a video that would fit my tastes and would last for a while.
The lube was chilly as I added it to two fingers and started playing with my ass, massaging in a circle to relax the muscles. The tips found their way in and I stroked in and out. My cock hardened in response to the pleasure as well as to the visual stimulus from the video.
Next, I grabbed the dildo, a thick and veiny model of a cock with a large mushroom head. I covered it with lube, drenching the surface as I rubbed up and down. Something this big needed to be slick. I took a deep breath and held the toy behind me, angling it upward from the bed towards my hole. The muscles were tight and resistant, recovering from Cody. I tried to breath in and out to relax more. Finally, I grabbed the poppers bottle and breathed in deeply through each nostril.
That did the trick. I pressed the dildo against myself and leaned back. The tip entered and I groaned. I pushed myself back more and I slid down as far as I could. I clutched the end of the shaft to keep it in place and rocked my hips. The tip touched deep places and made me groan.
On the screen, a bottom was being bent over a couch being pounded hard by a top. It was relentless and brutal…and hot. I quickened my pace of rocking, my leg muscles ached but the desire for the penetration was greater.
I added lube to my cock and stroked with my other hand. If I was not careful, I would come sooner than I wanted. I paused and took another hit of poppers and focused on the rocking. I leaned forward into a doggie-style position and continued to ram the dildo into my ass.
The top in the video had the same physique as Cody and I imagined it was him and the bottom was me, taking me roughly, taking me like he owned me. I twinged a bit as the muscles reacted to the large dildo. The fuckings Cody had already given me had left me bruised. I still wanted him inside me and for now the dildo was a suitable substitute.
A third man joined the scene and the bottom sucked him while continuing to be fucked. It was easy to imagine Josh joining in, Cody telling him to pound my throat and make me choke. A pounding by Josh would follow.
I returned to the kneeling position, the angle and depth hitting better positions. I heard a noise behind me and turned. Cody stood in the doorway, pants dropped to the floor, stroking.
“Don’t stop,” he said. He stepped out of the pile of clothes and then unbuttoned his shirt and tossed it aside. He approached the bed and leaned in to
kiss me. “Couldn’t wait for me, huh?”
“I didn’t know if…”
“Miss a chance to be with you?” He ran his hands down my back and slapped my ass. “Damn, that’s hot. Let me help you.”
I leaned forward and let go of the dildo shaft. Cody grabbed it and began to push and pull. I played with my cock feeling the coming orgasm. I enjoyed playing with toys myself. Having someone direct the motion and speed heightened the excitement. Cody continued to stroke himself with his free hand, keeping pace with the thrusts of the dildo in me.
“I’m going to cum,” I said. I shifted to roll on my back. Once in my new position, Cody continued to thrust. My ass clenched the dildo as the climax hit. Semen shot out and up to my chest, farther then I had ever seen it go before. Cody jumped on the bed and straddled me as I panted. His cock bobbed in front of me as he continued to stroke with vigor. Finally, he moaned and his cum hit my chest and mingled with my own.
He looked down and smiled, “I’m glad I got here when I did.” He ran a finger through a wet spot on my chest. “I think this was you.” He scooped up some and inserted his fingers into his mouth, closing his lips around the fingers and sliding it out.
“And this was mine.” He swiped again and put his fingers to my lips. I let them in and sucked on the sweetness. He scooped a second helping and gave me more. Then he leaned down close to my chest and licked several areas, cleaning me. The biggest area he saved until the end and he licked slowly and savored the taste in his mouth. Finally, he raised up and I saw his lips wet. I reached over to pull his face to mine, kissing him, and tasting us.
We showered together, rubbing each other with a sudsy shower sponge. Then we dried each other, slowly exploring each other’s bodies, stopping to kiss and to grope. Finally, we returned to the bed and crawled beneath the sheets, entangling our arms and legs and putting our faces close to one another.
“How often do you use your toys?”
I smiled, “Whenever needed.”
