Can't Leave It Alone Page 6

“Why are you just sitting there?” Angela asked as she knocked on her window.

“Girl, I’m jamming.” She bobbed her head to the music.

Angela shook her head. “You’re a trip. I got breakfast.”

“Say no more.” Ryan killed the ignition, grabbed her Prada bag, her bag that held her laptop, and then hopped out of her car.

“I knew that would get your ass out. I bought you a Mcgriddle combo.”

Ryan greedily rubbed her hands together. “That’s what I’m talking ‘bout.” She took the bag filled with food from her hand.

“Yeah, you might enjoy it this time, if you don’t end up on an early lunch.”

“Whatever.” Ryan sneakily smiled as they walked into the building.

“And uh, is this a fashion show?”

“What?” She looked down at her black Alexander McQueen dress and Louboutins stilettos.

“Don’t be coy. You know that you’re putting the rest of us to sleep.”

“Hey, all I can say is step your game up.” She laughed.

“Yeah, right. Your clothes are more expensive than the lawyers in here. No other paralegal got it like you. I wanna know what’s your secret.”

“Bargain shopping.” Ryan winked as they stepped onto the elevator.

A few professionally dressed men stepped onto the elevator as well. “How are you ladies?” one guy asked.

“Fine.” Both Ryan and Angela spoke. Ryan knew all of the men’s names because at one time or another they’d all asked her out on a date.

She watched as the lights on the numbers lit up, as the elevator climbed floor after floor. Once it reached the fifteenth floor she stepped off. “See, you later, Ang.” She waved as she switched off. She swayed down the long hall, until she got to the corner office. Her boss had the biggest suite on the floor. She pushed the glass door open and noticed that a few people were already seated, apparently waiting to see Mr. Brown.

“Got damn.” One dude uttered as he laid eyes on her. Sometimes Mr. Brown’s clients had no tact.

She turned to them with a smile. “Good morning, gentlemen.”

“Good morning to you too.” a dark skinned dude named Carmelo flirted. He was a rapper on the rise and Mr. Brown represented him. He was quite handsome, but Ryan knew all about him. He was a street nigga and that meant that she didn’t have time.

“Ryan, Mr. Brown said that he gave you some documents that you needed to give to Mr. Roman.” The secretary Ruby reported from her desk. She was a tall slim light skinned chick that tried to compete for attention every time she and Ryan were in the same room with men. She was usually a secure girl, but when Ryan was around she felt threatened.

“Oh yeah, Mr. Roman, I have those papers for you.” She quipped, as he shifted through her bag.

“Girl, don’t call me that. It’s Carmelo.” He reminded her, hating to be called by his last name. It made him feel old.

“Okay, Carmelo.” She giggled as she pulled the papers out of her bag. “Here you go.” She handed them to him.

“Thank you.” He flirted, as he gazed into her eyes.

She shook her head. “Boy, stop.”

“What?” he asked with a raised brow.

  “You know.” she laughed.

“Hey, what’s up, gentlemen?” Mr. Brown spoke as he entered the office and his sweet yet masculine cologne reached everyone before he did. “Yall here early, huh?”

Ryan checked her boss out. She had never been into men in suits, but he wore them well. He was rocking the hell out of a beige Armani suit with no tie. Mr. Brown aka Jacob always looked suave and debonair.

“Yeah, man. I got court tomorrow. I need to go over some shit.” James spoke up. He was one of Jacob’s long time clients.

“Okay. I’ll get with you in a second. Ms. Reeves can I see you in my office for a minute?”

“Sure.” Ryan nodded as she bypassed the front desk and followed him into his office. She closed the door behind her.

Jacob quickly backed her up against the door and placed a sloppy kiss on her lips. “Damn, you look good in this dress. You wore this for me?” he panted as he slid his hand up her dress.

“You know it.” She grinned as he felt her up.

“You got my dick rock hard.” He whispered.

“And you got this pussy soaking wet.” She purred.

“Damn, I can’t wait ‘til lunch gets here. I’ma suck the shit out of that pussy.”

“Uh, I love it when you talk like that.” She giggled.

“Oh, yeah? Fuck it. Let’s get a quickie right now.” he anxiously pulled her dress up.

“Bae, don’t you think that you need to attend to your awaiting clients?” she asked as he slid her panties off.

“They can wait.” He breathed, before taking her panties in hand and sniffing them.

“You are so crazy.” She laughed.

“Crazy about you.” He professed, as he unbuckled his belt and swiftly undid his pants, allowing them to fall to the floor. His dick sprung up out of his boxers.

Gazing down at his thickness caused her pussy to cream.

He followed her gaze. “You like what you see?”

  She nodded.

He lifted her thighs and she wrapped her legs around his waist. He used the door to keep her balanced as he rooted into paradise. They both shuttered as their bodies became one. He steadily rocked inside of her with no regards to the people he had waiting.

Their mouths hungrily met as she slid up and down his muscle. He could feel her wetness dripping down his balls. He pushed her legs further back and dug into her spot. Their skins clapped, but they were so into their steamy sex that they could care less.

He gripped her thighs tighter as he let loose. “Fuck.” He placed his forehead on hers.

“Ah, that was good.” She breathed, before he placed her back on her feet.

“I know.” he chuckled as he ambled over to his desk with his pants still at his ankles. He grabbed the disposable wash cloths. “Come here.” He commanded.

She sauntered over with her dress resting over her ass. He took the cloth and gently wiped the kitty. Each time they had an office rendezvous he’d do the honors of cleaning them both.

“Thank you.” She leaned in for a kiss.

“Umm.” He indulged in her lips. “You’re welcome.” He pulled her dress down.

She knelt down and pulled up his pants, after he thoroughly cleaned his tool. “Does my hair look okay?” she asked preparing to leave out.

  His eyes examined her. “Perfect.”

“Alright, spray some air freshener in here while I send someone back here.”

“No problem.” He smacked her ass as she left the office.

She turned to give him a grin and then kept it moving. She stepped into the lobby of the office. “James, Mr. Brown is ready for you.”

“Cool.” He stood and headed back to the office.

Ryan then walked over to her desk, which was positioned right outside of Jacob’s office. She slowly eased into her leather swivel chair. Jacob had really put a hurting on her and she was left a little sore.

She knew that the building was buzzing about their little thing, but no one there truly knew how deep things had gotten for them. She’d been working for him for two years. After the first few months of her being there she knew that he was attracted to her. He made sure to compliment her every day and would allow her to get away with a little more than the rest of the paralegals. One day the casual flirting escalated into more. She thought that it was just going to be a fling, and was kicking herself once the euphoria faded, thinking that she’d never be able to face him again. So, she was surprised that he wanted it again and again. Soon after, he was showering her with expensive gifts and lending her his credit cards. Then they began spending plenty of time outside of the office, and just five months earlier he’d become acquainted with the twins. He now paid for the upscale townhouse she resided in. As far as she was concerned their
situation was prefect. She knew that Jacob was a young playboy and she wasn’t trying to tie him down. One hand simply washed another.

Jacob Brown had swagger that couldn’t be denied and that was what lured Ryan in, but what she didn’t know was that it was much more to him. The reason he was so down to earth was because underneath those expensive threads and the huge vocabulary was an ordinary nigga from the hood, who simply had a plan. Years ago, he was a common hustler. It was him, and his two brothers Jacobi and Jason in the game. They had been doing their thing together and had watched one too many gangster movies. They were all still in their teens when they vowed to get legitimate careers. So, many people around thought that they’d turned over a new leaf when Jacobi entered into law enforcement, after getting the required hours in college. Jacob attended TSU and took up law, all the while never fully leaving the hustle alone.

For eight years he attended school and hustled on the side. In fact, he’d use student loans and grants to fund their small operation. At twenty five he became a lawyer and they had enough money to open a small law office. It wasn’t long before he was representing the same niggas he ran the streets with. They started off simple enough, before slowly but surely elevating their game. It wasn’t long before he and his brothers became forces to be reckoned with. Jason had a degree in business and was always finding different ways for them to flip their money. So, they now had rental properties throughout the city and held stock in some very profitable businesses. Money was pouring in but they still ran coke, on a much larger scale. They were damn near unstoppable. With the knowledge and legal edge over the competition they were killing the game. And if someone wasn’t fucking with them they could just lock their asses up, because they had it like that.

Ryan entered her cousin’s home, while the twins trailed behind her.

“Hey Twins.” Dina smiled as she balanced her son on her hip.

“Hey.” They both waved a hand.

“Yall the other kids are in the backyard. Yall can go back there and play.”

“Yay!” they pumped their little fists into the air, before running out back.

Ryan stepped into Dina’s living room and saw all the other chicks sitting around chattering.

“Look, who finally deiced to show her face.” Trinity playfully rolled her eyes.

“Fuck you.” Ryan smiled as she took a seat and placed her Louie bag onto Dina’s glass coffee table. “What are you messy broads talking about?”

“Messy?” Raven gasped, pretending to be appalled.

“Yeah, I said it. Now what were yall yapping about?”

“We were talking about my baby’s birthday party.” Trinity spoke up.

  “Serenity?”

  “Yeah.” Trinity nodded.

“So, what’s the plan?” Ryan wanted to know, expecting her to throw a huge shindig for a child that would hardly remember that just a few years later.

“It’s going to be like them old Fun Days in the Park events. I’m going to have like a miniature carnival equipped with rides and it’s going to be a lot of adult fun too.” Trinity boasted, getting excited just talking about her plans. Not even realizing that Zyrie had done that theme before.

Ryan nodded. “That sounds like fun. Just tell me and the twins the time and the place.”

“Well, it aint until next month.”

“Well, why in the hell have we spent the last hour talking about it?” Raven griped as she rapidly texted on her iPhone, never bothering to look up.

“Raven, do you ever put that damn phone down?” Raquel, Raven’s sister, questioned.

Raven looked up and stuck out her tongue. “I’m on Facebook talking about this bitch.” She nodded at Trinity.

Trinity’s mouth fell open. “What you talking about me for?”

“Cause you getting on my nerves, talking about this damn party.” Raven spat.

“Oh, shit. Is Raven hating cause Trinity taking her shine? Yall know Raven think she’s the party planning guru.” Raquel teased.

Ryan sat back laughing. Seeing all her girls together at once was always a treat. She’d known Trinity and Raven like forever. Trinity was Dina’s best friend and Raven was Trinity’s cousin. When she moved back from Louisiana they all became tight, but in the past two years they’d become even closer. Raquel was always around, but just two years ago her daddy Ray-Ray had finally done what he should have done years ago; they got a DNA test. For years her mom had claimed that another man was her father in order to collect social security once he passed away. The resemblance between Quel and Ray-Ray was uncanny, but after so many years he just wanted to be sure (or really shut the nay sayers up). Once that was done she and Raven became closer than ever, being that Ray-Ray was her father as well. They’d always known that it was a possibility that they were sisters, but to know for certain changed everything. They both had filled a void in the other’s life. Raven had never been able to find many true female friends outside of her relatives, and she didn’t have any sisters. And Raquel was her mom’s only daughter. So, they were damn near adjoined at the hip now. You wouldn’t see one without the other.

Ryan enjoyed hanging with them because she could let her guards down. Cattiness ran amuck amongst most groups of females, but with this particular group of women they were all equally fly and didn’t have time to hate. Raven and her husband Jahrein had been married for over ten years and had been together for fifteen years; and she was still under thirty. Together they had seven kids and there was one child Jahrein had had with another woman. It had taken Raven years to get over it, but the little boy now lived with them. Surprisingly she’d grown to love him like her own. She realized that she had to let go of the past, and besides it wasn’t like the boy’s mother could come from her grave to interfere in her life. Jahrein was a huge baller. He was once in the game heavy. After life altering events took place he decided that it was time for him to leave it alone, so now he and Raven ran legitimate businesses that were very lucrative.

Trinity had two kids with her husband Sincere. They’d been married for just two years, but anyone who knew them could see that they were soul mates. Sincere was running the game in Houston even though he hailed from the streets of New York. Through Sincere was how Dina met her man Chad. He and Sincere were first cousins. Chad had left a woman and two kids back in New York to get started in the game in Houston. He intended on coming back for them once his money was straight, but had gotten caught up. He didn’t mean for it to happen, but he fell for Dina and her ride or die attitude. They’d had two kids together, and the nigga still hadn’t bothered to break things off with the chick back in the NY. Eventually, Dina got fed up and gave him an ultimatum. Of course, he chose her. He still had property in New York and they would travel back and forth between New York and Houston so that he could have a functioning relationship with his kids. Sincere did the same in order to be a permanent fixture in his two sons’ life back in New York as well.

Raquel was married to her long time sweetheart Kevin. He’d been home for seven years, after doing time in prison. After his case was overturned he went home to Raquel and their two kids. They now had five kids and Raquel was a psychologist, while Kevin owned a few small businesses. At one point she was the wildest of them all, but life had calmed her down tremendously. Still, she was the first to fight, turn up, and act up.

Zyrie was someone that everybody met through Raven. They had met a few years back through their men. Zyrie was married to Amir who was also a retired hustler like Raven’s man, Jahrein. Together they had four kids and Amir had two from a previous relationship. Amir had made some power moves that had them set for life and now she was just a housewife. They were balling so hard that she didn’t bother to do house work, though. That was their maid’s job.

Jonasia was the hood rat of the crew. She had been friends with both Trinity and Dina for years. She was still fucking with any nigga that had a little change in his pocket. She had two kids with two different
niggas and was always looking for a come up. They all fucked with her because she was real and never sugar coated anything about herself, or how she got down.

All of the women’s kids were out back playing with the exception of Raven’s and Raquel’s two oldest kids. Raven’s son and daughter were fifteen and fourteen, while Raquel’s daughter and son were seventeen and thirteen. The four teens were off at the mall with their friends. So, that meant that there were exactly twenty-one kids outside and what was really crazy was that Raven and Raquel’s kids accounted for nearly half even though four of theirs weren’t even there.

“Ay, ma, what are yall going to feed all these rugrats?” Chad asked as he stepped into the house. He’d been outside playing with the kids and they were running him ragged.

“Oh, we ordered pizza, bae.” Dina answered from the couch.

“Pizza, huh? How many you ordered?”

  “Three.” She smiled.

“Three?! Ma, that can’t feed all these kids and me.”

“And you?” Raven asked. “What about us?” she shook her head.

  Chad waved her off.

Dina laughed. “Boy, you know we ordered fifteen of those bitches, so don’t get your panties in a bunch.”

“Whatever, ma. What yall chickens in here talkin’ bout?”

“Chickens?” Trinity twisted her neck. “Nigga you got me fucked up.”

“Yeah, New York, you got jokes, nigga.” Ryan rolled her eyes.

“Not at all, yall know yall some ducks, kid. I don’t know why you faking the funk. But uh…Ryan my boy said why you aint got at him yet. The nigga is really feeling you, ma.”

She rolled her eyes. “Chad, tell that nigga that I’m good.”

“Alright, ma. You need to stop being that way.” Chad trotted back outside.

“Uh, who is he talking about, Ryan?” Trinity pried.

  “Fred.” Dina spoke up.

Raquel arched her eyebrow. “Fred that look like Method Man, Fred?”

“Yeah.” Dina smiled. “You know him?”

Raquel sighed. “Girl, please. That’s used to be my Boo. I heard that the nigga is doing good.”
