Delight (Legacies, #1)

I climb up in Bounce’s truck since he’s already loaded everything up and Karson is in his car seat still passed out. Once I’m fastened in and ready to go, I turn my attention out the window and ignore the giant fucking asshole sitting next to me. He may not want anything personal, but he sure as hell is butting into my life and making decisions for me.
Yes, I’m not a complete bitch and understand he’s only trying to look out for Karson and me. But it doesn’t mean I have to like the way he’s handling things. This is my life after all and I’m more than capable of running it myself. I’ve certainly been doing it long enough.
Chapter Fifteen
Sydney a.k.a Delight
I DIDN’T PAY attention last night when Bounce showed us into the house. I was carrying Karson in my arms as he never once woke up in our travels. And I was absolutely exhausted. So, waking up in the morning, I take a quick tour of his house.
It’s a single-story house with a porch in front of the front door. The living room is in the front of the house and it’s bigger than it looks on the outside. There’s a leather couch in front of a large TV mounted to the wall. A recliner sits in the corner of the room and looks well-worn but not ragged.
On each side of the living room are hallways. One leads to the rooms Karson and I are staying in. A bathroom sits between our rooms and Bounce said there’s a laundry room on the opposite side of the house. As I walk down the hall, I hear movement coming from the door at the end and rush back toward the living room.
Instead of standing there looking a fool, I walk into the kitchen. I guess the least I can do is make breakfast for all of us. Especially in this gorgeous kitchen. All the appliances look brand-new. There’s an island along with a table big enough to fit six people. A patio door leads from the kitchen to the huge backyard. There’s a sink, dishwasher, stove, double oven, large refrigerator, and a freezer. Still, there’s plenty of room to move around.
Starting with the coffee, I make a pot and hope it’s to Bounce’s standards before pulling out the ingredients to make pancakes, eggs, and sausage.
I have the table set, a coffee cup for Bounce waiting by the pot, and I’m serving up breakfast when both Bounce and Karson make their way sleepily to the kitchen. They sit at the table and I begin to dish up breakfast for them.
No one says a word and I’m not ready to talk to Bounce, so I fill my plate and then sit down next to Karson. After giving him a smile, I dig into my food so he’ll do the same. Karson is going to take his cues from me while we’re at Bounce’s house. He’s been around him, but it’s not been enough to open his mouth or trust the man sitting at the table with us.
After eating in silence, I clean up the mess from breakfast while Bounce disappears into his room or some other room in the house. Karson remains at the table while I put the kitchen back to the way it was. Once I’m done, we make our way to the rooms Bounce put us in and I set out Karson’s clothes for the day.
“You get dressed. I’m going to change and then we’ll head outside for a little while. Does that sound good, buddy?” I ask him.
“Yeah, sissy,” he murmurs to me.
Walking to my room, I put on a pair of shorts and a tank top. I throw my hair up into a messy bun and walk back across the hall to get Karson. He’s dressed and has made his bed the best he can. This is a new development because he’s never done this before. Maybe it’s because we’re staying at someone else’s home and he feels it’s something he needs to do.
“Good job, Karson. You ready to get outside for a little bit?” I ask him after giving him praise.
He nods his head to me and we head out through the patio doors in the kitchen. I have a small ball for us to play with and I’m sure he’ll want to just explore the yard as he usually does. Karson loves to find bugs and point out the different flowers and vegetation he sees to find out what it is. But I guess he’s like all normal little boys with the whole bug thing.
The first time he brought a bug he found to me, I screamed and ran away from him. Karson chased me around with it for almost an hour because he thought it was the funniest thing ever. I wasn’t impressed, but there was no way I was going to yell at him for it. My time that afternoon was spent on the tops of chairs and even the little table I had for us outside at one point in time. That’s actually how Santana found us when she got to the house and she laughed so hard she was doubled over with tears in her eyes. In turn, this only made Karson double his efforts to chase me around the yard and eventually into the house.
A smile graces my face as I remember that day. Karson is the one pure thing in my life and I’ll do everything to ensure no one takes his innocence away before it’s time. I know I won’t be able to protect him from seeing every single horrible thing in the world, but I sure as hell can protect him from the likes of Lloyd or whoever else is going to show up at our door to collect a debt on behalf of my addict mother.
Karson and I sit down on the ground and we toss the ball back and forth to one another. He keeps trying to get it to fly over my head so I have to get up and chase it. His little boy laughs and the way he tries to get the ball over me makes the smile on my face grow. I can’t help but be happy around Karson and I love him even more because he knows when I need to get my mind off things.
After we spend a few hours outside playing and soaking up the sun, I lead Karson inside to clean up and get ready for lunch. Looking in Bounce’s refrigerator, I pull out what I need to make us sandwiches and I pull out an apple for Karson. After making his sandwich and cutting up his apple, I make lunch for Bounce and myself. There’s no way I’m calling Bounce out to eat with us, so I walk to his bedroom and gently tap on the door.
“What?” I hear growled out from behind the closed door.
“Um, I have your lunch for you. If you don’t want it I can take it back,” I tell him.
The door in front of me bursts open and Bounce takes the plate from my hands. He’s got a sandwich, chips, and a bottled water. As soon as he takes the plate and water from me, I turn my back on him and make my way back toward Karson so we can eat our lunch together. Maybe it won’t be a good idea for Santana to watch Karson here. I’ll have to call her and see if she’s comfortable taking him to her house.
No one can bitch about it because she has a state-of-the-art security system, and I know her father has around the clock security monitoring the feeds from her home. They also do drive-by’s of the house and someone is always close to her. Even when she was at my house. Which brings up another thought; how was Lloyd able to get so close to the house if one of Santana’s father’s men were at the house or around? Maybe this isn’t such a good idea after all.
I’ve cleaned up the mess from making and eating lunch and I’m ready to head in to grab a quick shower when there’s a knock on the door. I check on Karson and make sure he’s in the temporary room as I go to answer the door since Bounce still hasn’t come out of his room.
“Who the fuck are you?” the woman standing on the other side of the door yells at me.
She’s short and wearing barely any clothing. If she bends over or a strong wind kicks up, everyone will be able to see her goods. All of them. She has bleach blonde hair and is in dire need of a touch-up as her roots are showing. Looking in her eyes shows me that she’s not happy because her eyes are almost dead as they glare at me for being in Bounce’s home.
“I’m Sydney. Can I help you?” I ask her, keeping my voice polite.
“Where the fuck is Bounce?” she growls, pushing past me and almost knocking me on my ass.
“I have no clue who you are or if you’re even allowed in here. Please, wait outside and I’ll get Bounce for you,” I tell her after righting myself and standing tall.
“I don’t have to fucking listen to you. Get the fuck outta here,” she says, looking around Bounce’s house.
The way she’s taking in everything in his personal space shows me she’s never been here before. If she had been, she wouldn’t be trying to get the layout
of the place. Or trying to figure out which way to head in search of the man she’s looking for.
If this is the type of woman Bounce is usually with, it’s no wonder he doesn’t want to settle down. I may not be stick thin like the woman standing before me, but at least my hair is natural and so are all of my body parts. Her tits scream fake as they barely move in her barely-there top. She’s like a horrible, slutty version of a doll, all plastic and fake. I won’t ever compete with those type of women.
“Bounce, you have company,” I call out, standing at the end of the hallway after closing the door.
He throws open his door and glares at me. Obviously he’s missed the entire conversation going on out here and that’s saying something because the woman has done nothing but yell since I opened the door to her.
“Carrie, why the fuck are you here?” he growls as he steps close to me. “And how did you find out where the hell my house is?”
“Bounce, baby, don’t be like that. You know you want me here, in your house. I just don’t understand why this slut is here. Get her the fuck out,” Carrie demands of him.
“The only one leavin’ here is you. Carrie, you’re on my last nerve and have no right to be here. Sydney is the only woman I’ve ever invited into my home. Get back to the clubhouse and find someone there who wants to play your games,” Bounce growls at the bitch.
His eyes are narrowed in anger and his eyes are almost fully closed as he continues to glare at the woman who’s too dumb to listen to him. However, I’m not dumb and I’m going to get out of this situation as quickly as possible.
I make my way to the hall where Karson and I are staying and grab my brother. We silently make our way back outside and I wonder if I can get out of the fence in the back of the yard and walk to Santana’s house. Or at least somewhere else so I can call her and have her pick us up. I’m certainly not going to be staying in a home where women dressed like that make regular visits. Karson doesn’t need to see that and I’m not going to allow him to see things like that.
I’ll have to talk to Blood or Tonya when I’m at work tonight. This is not a situation I’m going to be staying in and I don’t give a shit what Bounce thinks about it. I’ll borrow money, something I’m completely against, from Santana and leave Brighton Hills before I allow that to happen.
“Syd, get the fuck in here,” Bounce yells from the patio door before Karson and I can get very far.
“I’m good. Thanks though,” I reply, still looking around for a door to leave the yard.
Before I can take more than a few steps further away from Bounce, I’m being picked up and tossed over his shoulder. As I struggle and try to land a kick to his junk, Bounce’s large hand lands on my ass.
“Fuck! That hurt,” I yell, slapping his own ass and hurting my hand in the process.
“Stop messin’ around then. I don’t want to drop you,” he says, his voice a little softer now. “Karson, come on, buddy. Let’s put some cartoons on for you.”
I lift my head and see Karson following us. There’s a smile on his small face as he thinks me being flung over Bounce’s shoulder is funny. That’s my brother for you, ladies and gentlemen.
Bounce puts cartoons on for Karson and carries me to the room I’m staying in. After shutting the door behind him, Bounce proceeds to drop me on the bed and I bounce several times before finally coming to a stop. As I look up at him, I can see laughter and annoyance in his eyes. What the hell is he annoyed at me for?
“You’re the one stayin’ here with Karson. No one else is allowed in my house. Unless it’s Santana or one of my club brothers. The only women who have ever been in here so far are you and Tonya. No one else is allowed here. I’m not sure how Carrie got my address, but she won’t be makin’ another trip here. Is that understood?” he questions me.
“Yep. But, she’s the one who pushed past me and almost knocked me on my ass to get in here to you,” I tell him.
“She what?” he asks, his glare returning once again.
“After being a bitch to me because I opened the door, she pushed her way in here and almost knocked me on my ass. So, it’s not exactly my fault she was inside. Just know, I won’t have Karson around women like that. I don’t give a shit about anyone’s personal life, but that’s something he doesn’t need to see,” I tell him, letting my own anger surface. “Maybe us being here isn’t such a good idea. I’ll find somewhere else for us to stay.”
“You’re not goin’ anywhere. You’ll be here until it’s safe for you to return home. And even then, there may be other changes,” he tells me.
“We’ll see about that, biker boy. Now, I’m going to take a shower since I was so rudely interrupted before. I’m getting ready for work before Santana gets here so I have some time with my friend,” I inform him.
Bounce leaves my room and I grab my things to head into the bathroom. I check on Karson and make sure he’s good on the couch in the living room before I take my shower. Bounce is actually sitting with him so I walk into the bathroom and take a quick shower. I can take a longer one at the club after my sets tonight. I don’t even let the hot water wash away the tight, tense muscles in my body as I wash my hair and then body.
The guys are still sitting on the couch when I exit the bathroom and dump my clothes in the washer so I can do a load of our things later on. Karson now has a juice box in his hands and is absorbed into a show about bikes. Bounce must have changed it shortly after I got in the shower. Oh well, it looks like Karson is enjoying it so I don’t really care.
I’m still getting ready when Santana shows up. She walks in the room I’m staying in and sees me picking up my bag before meeting her at the door. A smile is covering her face and I’m sure she’s thinking something happened between Bounce and me.
“What’s got you smiling like that?” I ask her.
“So, what happened last night?” she asks me.
“Nothing. I got Karson to bed and went to bed myself. Alone,” I tell her.
“It’s not like I haven’t heard you two going at it,” Santana informs me. “You’re telling me that now you’re in his house, you’re not sharing a bed with the sexy as sin man out there?”
“No, I’m not. I’ll explain later on,” I say, leaving the room and finding Bounce waiting by the door for me. “I’ll see you later on. Love you, Karson.”
“Love you, sissy,” Karson returns, never once taking his attention from the TV.
“Santana, please make sure he gets outside again today,” I call as I walk through the door.
“I will. Have a good night,” she returns.
Bounce leads me to his bike and we make our way to Legacies. I have a feeling tonight is going to be a long night with this man watching over me. It’s bad enough he consumes my thoughts and dreams. Now, I’m sharing a house with him and having to see women he’s clearly fucking when he hasn’t been with me. That reminds me, I should go get tested after the condom broke and we had sex again after that. Just one more thing to do.
Chapter Sixteen
Bounce
WALKING OUT OF my bedroom, the last thing I expect to see is Carrie standing in my home. None of the sweet butts are supposed to know where I live; they’re not welcome here. No one is. My face is covered in a glare because I’ve been trying to ignore Sydney. I don’t want to want her the way I do and it doesn’t seem as if anything can stop the ache I feel for her.
“Carrie, why the fuck are you here?” I growl, stepping closer to Syd. “And how did you find out where the hell my house is?”
“Bounce, baby, don’t be like that. You know you want me here, in your house. I just don’t understand why this slut is here. Get her the fuck out,” Carrie demands of me.
“The only one leavin’ here is you. Carrie, you’re on my last nerve and have no right to be here. Sydney is the only woman I’ve ever invited into my home. Get back to the clubhouse and find someone there who wants to play your games,” I growl at the bitch.
It’s at this point I
see Sydney making her way down the opposite hall. After a minute she returns with Karson and makes her way out the back door. Yeah, she’s not going to find an escape out there. I know already where her head is and she wants to get away from here. It’s not like I can blame her with Carrie being here.
“Bounce, tell her to get the fuck out so we can have some fun,” Carrie says, stopping close enough to me to run her fingers down my chest.
“Not gonna fuckin’ happen. I told you to get the fuck out. I’m not sure what the fuck your problem is, but you’re not allowed in my home. Ever. So, leave and I’ll try not to lose my shit on you when I get to the clubhouse with Blood and the rest of the members for church tonight,” I tell her.
Carrie still doesn’t listen. What the fuck is wrong with this bitch?
Pulling my phone from my pocket, I call Blood. After explaining the situation to him, he lets me know Logan and Breaker will be here to get her and make sure she doesn’t come back. Levi will be here tonight when we head to work so he’ll make sure she doesn’t come back while we’re in church either. This bitch is fucking crazy.
“Bounce, you know you’re gonna make me your ol’ lady. I don’t know why you’re fighting it. It’s meant to be,” Carrie says, not defeated by the fact I called Blood.
“Look, I fucked you one time. Once, Carrie. Your pussy is loose as fuck and I know none of the guys go there. If you’re touched at all it’s to give a damn blow job to someone who can’t find anyone else for the night. No one wants your loose, used up pussy and that’s a fuckin’ fact. Why you’ve latched onto me is insane. You’ll be lucky to remain with the club after this shit. I’m done with it,” I yell at her.
My only thought is getting to Sydney and making sure she doesn’t manage to find some way to escape the backyard with Karson. Thankfully, there’s a knock on the door and Breaker makes his way in. Now, looking at Carrie, I see her eyes widen in fear. She realizes now that it’s past time for her to get gone. Most likely permanently from the club.
